I was visiting SF for a week and gave myself the weekend to play in the bathroom area. I found Golden Gate Rides and met Daniel how was very helpful and generous in renting me a bike. I got my hands on a hard tail giant in excellent shape, hardly ridden. I tuned up the brakes a bit first but the drive train was in excellent shape, smooth shifting. Daniel hooked me up with a helmet, a lot and a tool bag with flat repair kit (tube, patches, CO2 tire irons and multi-tool). I paid $28 for a half day and got the next full day half off for $20. For a higher price they have top notch road and mtn bikes for good shredding in the area and they'll shuttle you to your destination for a small charge - neat service I may use next time to explore farther away. I took the bike around the city - golden gate park out to the ocean beach and lands end the first day. On the second I went over the golden gate and up and around the Marin Headlands, rodeo beach and Golden Gate recreation Area. The bike was solid the whole way. I noticed bikes from other companies were heavily branded (ex BLAZING SADDLES! COME RENT ME) makes people instantly identifiable as tourists and the bikes don't look as nice. The location is in the tenderloin, which some consider seedy, but I had no problem or fears visiting their store front or returning after dark. It's not as bad as people say (nice speakeasy across the street). Highly recommend! A bike can take you wonderful places.

I was there yesterday with my wife and we've got regular bikes upon the recommendation of the staff member and generally speaking it would have been fine, because there were only some parts of the tour, which were to steep for riding the bike. However, the bike I've got was faulty, as the gear changing didn't work properly and the chain fell out thrice. The first time was when I was pushing the bike out of the rental shop and thought this can happen, but when it happened again (once upon changing gears and once "unprovoked" while driving in a straight line at full speed with just pushing the pedals) I've realized that something was wrong. Besides the imporper working gears, which made the uphill parts very straining, and the falling out chain, the helmets we've got were quite uncomfortable and the help from the staff regarding questions(local regulations on riding a bike on the streets(we're from the EU and some rules differ like a lot), and and tips for the route and sightseeing were useless except one where he told us there will be strong winds on a part of the tour. When we've got back we didn't even get an apology for the inconveniences of getting a faulty bike. So this cumulated in me being very unsatisified with this rental service as I expected a functional bike and at least a little bit of human decency, when it comes to a mistake. I would certainly recommend doing a bile tour through the city, but not with this shop

We rented 3 Performance Road Bikes at Golden Gate Rides for 24hrs to experience the Bay Area for a day long trip. The good: * Everyone was on time and friendly and tried to make everything happen we asked for (specific pedals, right bike sizes) The bad: * We booked _Performance_ Road Bikes instead of Standard Road Bikes. Tbh there's nothing performance about them. Very low level group (Tiagra), low level carbon frames, low level components. * We didn't even got 3 performance road bikes but just one of them. The other ones were aluminum frames by Marin. Tbh the better choice but also a low level spec * They promised us to refund for the downgrade. It never ever happened. Even after 2 times asking via WhatsApp. This felt simply like a rip off, since the performance bike rates are anyhow way to high for what you get * Last but not least, each bike had rather severe issues. Dropping Chains, Hoods that were severely misaligned, a loose headset which could lead to dangerous crashes on descends I would have love to give more stars. But in the end we either got the money refunded they promised us, nor were the bike as expected, nor were they in mint condition. We glad fully brought our own multi-tools so that we could fix all of the stuff on our own - which took us roughly 1-1.5 hrs...

Worst cosutmer service I have ever had. Misleading and not thrustworthy. Fisrtly quoted 80$ and 100 miles range it was actually 110$ and 80 miles range on low mode. My bike pedal broke. A nearby repair place told me the quality of that bike was not great and it looked like the person assembling the bike didn't do a proper job. Golden Gate bike was very difficult to help me out and have charged me a full day out when the bike broke 30 min after renting. I was told I was "on my own" as I was in Sausailto and they questionned me as they suspected I was responsible. Touch wood I didn't have any accident with the bike. I had to wait 2 hours the the boat, I was finally told to drop the bike at a nearby indian restaurant. I asked for a full refund but was told I will be charged for 3 hours. After complaning I was then told that they CEO will refund me. 3 days later, no news, called and got told I will receive an email shortly. 2 days later nothing so called again, magically got told to check my email and they refunded 80$ out of the 110$ wiht no explanation. Was told the CEO is on vacation so they can't do anything. I asked for the CEO details and they wouldn't give it. Very disrespectful to me to put icing on the cake.

8 dollars an hour to rent bikes. I live in this building. See the owner Bigyan every day. Super nice guy. What's cool about this for locals is it's not right inside Union Square with the rest of those bike shops where nobody knows where they should be going. TOURISTS, what's good about this place just a short walk from your Union Square hotel is that you're NOT renting bikes right next to a parking garage. Car rental companies lease space from them, then rent cars to TOURISTS, who also have no clue where they're going and then end up hitting you. Golden Gate Rides is just a short 5 minute walk and besides, after all you're going on a "bike ride" ;) Use your time wisely as a warm up, then stretch outside while your bike is readying. Cheers and enjoy SF

Awesome place to rent a bike! The owner is a very relaxed guy and knows a lot about bikes. As a Dutch person who cycles everyday, I think this is very important, especially after a bad experience a few days before. The owner was very helpful in picking the right size and even the sadles could be exchanged if it was too hard or soft for your liking. I ended up with a quite new, light and comfortable Cannondale bike with good brakes. The owner sent us on our way with lots and lots of helpful tips, and after 50 km of fun and nice sights I had a hard time parting with my bike again. The price was just a few dollars more than most bike shops, but the bikes are a lot better, so it's definately worth it. Would recommend this place to anyone!

  • Laurens De Meyer

We had an amazing experience with this company. There is a price reduction if you rent the bikes more than one day, the bikes were high quality bikes (light and good gears) which were excellent maintained. Also we got a lot of personal advise for which streets we should use or avoid. Which is very handy in a city with the hills of San Francisco. Also they had a fun picture game going on which gave our bike ride a playful touch. They offer a free service to come and repair your tire when it's flat, a service we luckily did not have to use. When I look to the quality of the other bikes which are rented in the city and combine it with the personal service, I can only conclude this is the best bike rental service in San Francisco.

  • Alan Shum

Woke up at 0500 and picked up my bike at 0645. The rental shop owner is really really nice and supportive. Knowing I am going for a long ride (actually not really long, from SF to Mountain View), he gave me everything I may need in case of emergency, including the compressed-air tank, spare tube, as well as phone mount, which I worried about before picking the bike, as I didn't have a phone mount (for sure it's important for riding to somewhere new to me). Regarding the bike, the quality is awesome, and I didn't get flat tire about 100km ride. I have been to other bike shops before, but this one is definitely the only option I would consider if I have to pick one.

  • Nick W

Was recommended here by a friend and I must say was I ever impressed with their service and prices. No hassle, no hidden fees and very accommodating. Pirced by half or full day and the hours allow you to actually get a full day of riding in. Helmet and lock included and you also get a map and route recommendations. This location is very central to everything which makes it a great starting point to any trip. Just remember San Francisco is very hilly so do yourself a favor and just rent for the full day, your body will thank you as you wont have to be rushing to return the bike within a couple hours or else pay excessive 'late' fees like other San Fran rentals.

  • Nichelle Wheeler

We rented bikes while visiting San Francisco and had a great experience with Golden Gate Rides. I would highly recommend renting a bike as a way to explore the city. We saw most of the city in a day and made pit stops wherever we wanted. Our bike ride ended up being the most memorable part of our vacation. The bikes were in excellent shape and the rates were reasonable. We were able to walk right in and get e-bikes that fit us, along with a lock and helmet. Our ride back took a little longer than expected, but they were understanding and didn't charge us more. I highly recommend renting from here if you're looking for a great way to get around SF!

  • Grace Soelberg

The service is incredible! Such nice guys! Very friendly and helpful. Gave me lots of tips about San Francisco, since it was my first time there. Biking was the best way to see the city. The bikes were in great condition. They provided us with helmets, locks and lights and even a free water bottle. Its a great store by a laundromat and cafe. We did some laundry and got yummy pastries. They offered to switch out bikes anytime if we decided we wanted a different kind. The owner, Bigyan, rides himself and is very knowledgeable about all of his bikes. I would definitely return there when I come back to SF!

  • Alexander K

My flight got delayed 12 hours so I figured why waste a sunny day. I had my carry on luggage with me but found this spot only a 7 min walk from the BART and called in. Manager said I could keep my carry on there and he gave me an unbelievable hybrid bike that was way faster than the shops near the piers. Cheap prices for half day and I never had a better time in SF. He also gave me some hot spots for food and his favorite places to travel to. Very pleasant and generous given my chaotic change of plans. I will 100% be coming back to this store when I return here. A+

  • Jasper Groot Koerkamp

Bigyan provides good quality and modern bicycles; 1x12 speed, proper suspension, 29". On your trip, you also get a spare tube and equipment to replace and inflate. Lock and helmet are complementary. Furthermore, he knows the better places to go, like Muir Woods, and how to get there. And you can pick up the bike from 6.00 am onward. He may not be the cheapest, but is for sure very good and provides bikes with a quality a frequent biker is used to - with the same cost/quality ration (or better). Last but not least, you get to choose spd or flat pedals.

  • Clay Holder

My wife and I rented performance road bikes for a few days from these guys. So friendly and easy to work with. They made multiple adjustments, including switching pedals, saddles, etc to make us more comfortable. They had performance road bikes, mtn bikes, standard touring bikes, and e-bikes. You get 50% off after the first rental. The bikes seemed to be in great mechanical shape. I would suggest sticking with these guys instead of the other outfits near the tourist areas. Seemed like more personal attention and customer service here.

  • Michael Benaron

A great little setup close to downtown. We hired 4 e-bikes at short notice for a great price. Lovely staff, even gave us a few backpacks for the day out. We booked for 6 hours but returned after 8 due to missing the ferry from Sausalito - there were qualms or questions which was excellent. Will definitely use again when in San Francisco. Only slight down side is that the shop is located in a slightly dodgy side of town but for the purpose of picking up and dropping off bikes, it’s no big deal. Still 5 star service regardless.

  • Erika Houde-Pearce

The service I received here was above and beyond and some of the best service I received in my life. I had an incredible experience. I flew in with my bike from Montreal and needed to have my bike built from scratch. The owner (I wish I got his name) was very thorough, incredibly reliable on WhatsApp and helped us source pieces for our bike that we needed. He built 2 gravel/road bikes for us really well and quick, We rode down to Los Angeles and our bikes were in perfect condition. Would recommend to everyone

  • Julia

I can just highly recommend the bike rental :-) We rent two e bikes for a full day. We drove over the Golden Gate Bridge up to Sausalito and the batterie was more then half full. The e bikes were almost new with a high quality. The other bike rental stores, for example at fisherman’s wharf have mostly a bad quality and that was the reason why we decided to rent a bike at “golden gate rides”. The guy was so friendly ! The money is worth it. Thank you so much, we had a really good time and lots of fun :-)

  • Shay Sommerfield

Great experience overall. The bikes are extremely light and high quality, making biking around San Francisco's hills easy. We only wanted the bikes for the evening and returned them the next morning and we were only charged for a half day. The owner was also super helpful and checked on us to make sure that we were able to get the ferry back from Sausalito as it was the last one of the night. Overall great service and I will definitely be renting bikes here again next time I am in San Francisco.

  • Tj

I recently rented a bike through Golden Gate rides over the weekend of May 20th 2021, the owner was super friendly and gave some really good tips regarding where to go and what to see. I cannot recommend Golden Gate Rides enough! The customer service was exceptional and I am definitely going back again to rent, I would not consider anywhere else. The bike I rented was brand new, and if I had the opportunity, would love to buy that same bike for myself. Please check them out!

  • Abdelhadi Azzouni

very disappointing, dishonest Got an e-bike, after 30 min I had air coming out of the tire with green matter spreading over I thought no big deal, continued then got the same thing again twice. called shop and explained, then the guy showed up with a new wheel after he replaced the wheel he told me that they will charge me for this - he did not mentioned that on the phone and to me it was clear it was covered in my insurance (included in price) total dishonesty

  • Julian Rittmayer

Wonderful service can be expected here! I arrived around 10am with no reservation and they were able to get me the bike I wanted, tuned to my height, in a matter of minutes. They provided a carbon racing bike which ran beautifully. I spent the day whizzing around the otherside of the Bay ($40 well spent!). I ran a flat tire and when I brought it back they were very understanding and told me not to worry. They even showed me how to replace a tire

  • Ahsan Khan

Best bike rental in SF! Great quality bikes, both hybrids and road bikes. Friendly staff, the owner helped me out and was very knowledgable. He gave me his personal number in case there were any issues, as well as a great explanation of bike routes + a map and a bottle of water. He also said that if you rent a second time from them, it is half off. And even before that, it is still one of the most affordable rentals in town. Highly recommend it!

  • JJ Sereday

These guys are great - really take care of you. First time I rented they hooked me up with extra GoPro batteries... Who does that?! Second time they had cliff bars and water on hand which was definitely a life saver for me. The bikes were in perfect condition and road like a breeze. Their prices are very reasonable and if you are a repeat customer they hook you with with a discount as well. Definitely renting from them every time I'm in SF

  • Ranya Jarrar

My mom, sister, and I had a wonderfully pleasant experience with Golden Gate Rides Bike Rental! The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgable. They explained which routes were best to take, which places to visit, and they even gave us extra rental time free of charge! The bikes were also very comfortable and reliable. I highly recommend this charming local shop for anyone looking to explore all San Francisco has to offer!

  • Don LaPorte

Excellent Service and great bikes(light with plenty of gears) tailored to riding level. Manager assisted with routing and suggestions for my 16 year old son and me. Pricing VERY reasonable, and no bait and switch like we experienced with first rental place who lured is in with good pricing for only a heavy 'cruiser' bike, which is great if San Fransisco were flat! Good luck in your search, but can't go wrong with this place.

  • Em Craven

Rented a bike from here last minute on a Saturday. The bikes were really well looked after, great brakes (needed in hilly san Francisco!), and they provided you with a complimentary helmet if you wanted one as well as a bike lock. It was a joy to bike with my friends across the Golden Gate bridge, into Sausalito and catch a ferry back. Great half day trip on a sunny day. Owner was friendly too which is a bonus. Thanks guys!

  • Iroj Shrestha

First of all I am a basic mtb rider. I met Bigyan who is a owner of this shop and he recommended me the best mtb helmet for a basic rider with a good deal. The visor is soft and good quality material. The helmet itself is very light and Is built for multi directional Impact protection system. I would rate this helmet a 5 stars as well as for the shop. And I would rate Bigyan 6 stars, extra star for being nice and humble.

  • Hezekiah Thompson

The staff were amazing, the prices were reasonable and the bikes were in good condition and well fitting. I rental for three days, 11 hours total, and the total price of rental of only $53. After riding the first time, I received a 50% discount on my next ones. I was also able to call in advance for my party of 5 and have all the different sized bikes ready to go. I definitely recommend this shop above all others.

  • Victor Escobar

Not helpful, terrible service. I asked if they had a spoke available. Agent asked for the part size. When I gave him the size he backed tracked and said that he couldn't check inventory. When I asked why not. He said they didn't have that information available. When I asked to speak with his supervisor. He said that he was the supervisor. When I asked for his name, he refused to give me his name. Terrible service.

  • 최재환

It was my best experience in rental shops Staff, Bigyan was so friendly and kind. If you consider a bike rental don’t hesitate and go here! It is slight expensive than pier one, however the bike condition is very nice and worth enough the price (Pier bikes are real cheap ones) I recommend E-bikes because classics made my leg tired(but it felt like becoming healthy) Thanks for good experience!

  • R. Scott Gahs

Awesome bikes, great service. Will gladly come back!! Addendum: 6 years later, I came back. The owner recognized me, gladly it’s the same great bike rental shop! Bikes still in great mechanical shape! We rented the hybrid-city bikes again, perfect for the area. He’s a little more expensive then the other rental shops, but you do get much better quality with the price. It’s worth it! Enjoy!!

  • Green Team Landscaping

Just called about a reservation I asked about a 3 hour rental $52/ for an ebike on site. I asked when they closed. He said 6 then 7. The site says 10. I asked about the ebike rental. He then informed me there is a $1000.00 deposit for the rental. This is not listed anywhere when booking on the website. Seems like a strange practice to arbitrarily set different policies for customers.

  • Reinhard Koeppner

Very flexible, we could pick up the bikes even before the official opening hours. Bikes are quite cool and speedy but on both bikes we rented, the derailleur setup/maintenance was not proper so the chain always jumped. At return they told us that they do service after every ride so this should not happen... :-/ but overall, a small shop with speedy bikes and friendly staff!

  • B E

Genius choice to open from 6am. For jet lagged Europeans like us waking early and not wanting to waste the day, a last minute rental at 5am and picking up the bikes just one hour later to catch the sunrise over the bridge was amazing. We took the e-bikes to make life a bit easier up and down the hills. Friendly, efficient service and some free water for the road. Thanks!

  • Tarek MHIRI

Wonderful owner and amazing deals. He offered to my 3 friends full day bike with price if half day. One of them got a flat tire, he came with his car and switched the bike for no extra. Due to an injury, I couldn't rent. Despite that, he offered us all water and snacks and helped to organize our tourism plan. Clean place and sturdy bikes. Absolutely to recommend!!

  • Sam Buchanan

After reading the reviews on all bike rental shops in SF, this one had the best, and they sure delivered when we rented today! Polite, genuine, great service, quality bikes prepped well and when we asked about sightseeing the team drew the landmarks and the route to take on a map for us. We'd definitely recommend and would rent from them again!

  • Christian Felsmann

The delivery of the bikes was okay, but tips for a tour were only given upon request. The bikes were old and some of them were in poor condition. One bike had a brake that didn't work and the battery was weak. I can't recommend anyone to rent a bike there. Way too expensive. I don't understand how the good Google reviews came about.

  • Erik

Very good bike rental. We've rented two bikes. Staff are very relaxed and down to earth and eager to help you out. They gave us to bikes that were in perfect technical condition. Prices are fair too. As a Dutch guy I am critical about bike rentals - especially abroad - , but I highly recommend these guys! Keep up the good work boys!

  • Charlie Ryan

Top notch! I ride regularly at home in Maryland and was stuck in SF for work. I rented a hybrid which is what I use at home. It was an impressive high end Trek, new and in great condition. I rode over the Golden Gate to Sausalito for a work out. It was such a great outing that I did the same the next day. I'll rent from them again.

  • Sharon Jacobson

We had an amazing day biking around the city and over the Golden Gate Bridge. High quality bikes made a tough ride with heavy winds enjoyable. We were able to rent both hybrids and road bikes, so the whole family was happy. Rates were reasonable. The shop owner, Bigyan, was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

  • Nabil Asfari

I don’t know why anyone would rent bikes from somewhere else, this place has got it all. Great customer service, tips, prices and bikes. I got the hybrid electric bike and biked all over SF and across the Golden Gate Bridge. They also provide helmets. I would definitely rent another bike from here next time I’m in town!

  • Brett Johnson

Sooo genuine, unlike blazing saddles. Bikes are much better, faster and really good condition. I hired an e-bike for ~88USD and it was worth the money. Got down through SF park, all the way to ocean beach, saw a bunch of stuff. Barely broke a sweat and out paced the traffic. Definitely coming back again!

  • FUmartymcparty

They were super easy to schedule with and very accommodating in making sure I had the right bike for my riding style including changing to my requested pedals and including a repair kit(that I didn’t need) so I didn’t have to bring my own from home. Would highly recommend to explore the city on 2 wheels

  • Jeremy Thomas

Great service. Rented a bike twice over a long weekend. First one was a decent Cannondale hybrid that rode very well for a rental bike although it needed a few adjustments in the shifting. Another day I rented a Marin mountain bike that was a great ride too. Friendly people, and they seem organized.

  • Dale Francum

Great place to rent a bike. The owner was very quick to respond to my emails before I came to town. Online reservation system is easy to use. Good selection of bikes. Overall, definitely the best place to rent a bike in town and I will definitely rent from them again next time I'm in San Francisco.

  • Xavier Could

Had a wonderful experience at this bike rental. The price was very reasonable and they were very generous with their resources. Their unique E-Bikes are incredible and i would highly recommend them as they make riding around the hilly SF a much more pleasant experience. Would definitely go back.

  • Mark Huesmann

Great place to rent a bike and see SFO for a day. This city is totally different on a bicycle and the staff here are super friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions. They are accommodating in the best way. I will definitely be renting a bike again from them the next time I am in SFO.

  • Sean Harger

These guys are solid. I am a local resident and took some of my visitors here to rent bikes. I had my expectations really low, but man this is no Blazing Saddles. I was impressed with the quality of the bikes and the friendliness of the staff. Give them your business; you won't be disappointed.

  • Science Mountain

Visiting SF on a work trip and hired a good carbon road bike for a Sunday ride. Super friendly staff a couple of blocks from Union Square. Very good and helpful email communication ahead of the booking and very simple and easy pick up. Nice bike too. Well done guys on 5 star customer service.

  • Steve Neuman

Very friendly staff! The equipment is nicer lighter, newer than other rental shops. They charge a little more than others but the customer service and better equipment make up for the small difference in price. They provide maps, advice etc if needed. I will definitely use them again!

  • Dylan Douglas

Fantastic bike shop. A rare find, really. The owner and shop manager/staff in general are all so helpful/honest/kind. The rates for short and long term bicycle rental programs are super good. I loved the bike that I rented monthly from these guys. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

  • Conor Shinnick

Thanks for the outstanding service! The owner set me up with a quality bike, helmet, map, drink, and route suggestions for a great ride. Be sure to call ahead during these strange times since walk ins are not allowed. I will absolutely rent from Golden Gate Rides on my next visit.

  • Tamas Kalosi

They were really nice. Everything was great. They even offer to us if anything happen with the bikes if we got a puncture, we just have to call them and they will help us. The bikes were super. We rent the bikes for one full day. It is a super idea to rent a bike im San Francisco.

  • Alfred J.P. Lin

I hire a hybrid bike here & ride it more than 300 km in 3 days. It brings me lots of funs in San Francisco areas. Quality is good. It is highly reliable and prices is reasonable. Staff member are professional and friendly, responding to your questions very promptly.

  • VICTOR TANCR

This was my second time renting from Bigyan again and seems like he’s gonna be my go to bike rental whenever I go SF again. Friendly and personable, he’s got some good maps and tips. What I really like is he’s willing to change bikes according to my preferences.

  • Bastian Rieder

Really friendly and helpful to find a good route through San Francisco. And really good bikes! The only minus was that the staff came too late in the morning and we had to wait in front of a closed door. So if you want to start early better call the day before.

  • Adrian Diemer

Thanks for accommodating me and my three friends, we had a great time. We brought the bikes back at 9pm and they were super flexible for us. We just Whatsapped the owner an ETA and they got someone to open up for us. $130 for four bikes was worth it!

  • Javier X

If you want to rent a bike, THIS IS THE PLACE. The whole staff was helpful, always in contact and friendly, will never forget the way the helped me with something. The bikes are also in great condition and the business hours and location are good.

  • ignasi aliguer

They just made my day in SF!!! I was in the city half day and I wanted to see as much as I could, so I wanted to rent a bike. I saw all the reviews were a 5 so I left my luggage at the Chancellor and went there. They have really nice bikes

  • nico worrall

There's a reason this place has all these five star reviews! They have a great selection of bikes - from full carbon road bikes to mountain bikes to city hybrids. Very reasonable prices too. Set apart, however, by the friendliest owner in

  • Aris

I got there at the summer 2022 and it was one of my best experience in the USA, the staff was very friendly we were a big group of 60 exchange student and they followed us if we had a problem with a bike or something. Hello from France ;)

  • Eric Blonda

We randomly found this rental location online. I called as we were leaving our hotel and they told us they had a large group coming in but they could accommodate us last minute. Since they were low on bikes by the time we showed up we

  • Scott Williams

Service was great leading up to the rental, making sure I had a well fitted bike that was tuned and compatible with my clipless shoes. Having a good road bike allowed me to do 2-days of some of the best road biking I’ve ever done!

  • Richard Teters

Nice small shop in Tenderloin. Hard working people doing their best to give you the best ride. I had a brandnew e-bike wich was a great choice as I pased lots of people walking theid bikes up hill to the Golden Gate bridge.

  • Omar

I highly recommend it, the guys there are all super welcoming. David took me on an awesome tour with lots of cool details about local art and places to eat. If you have a chance definitely give these good people a try!

  • Heather Keeny

10/10 recommend this shop. Bigyan was super helpful, biked out to help us fix a flat, and was very accommodating in helping us find bikes that fit our needs. We had a great day in SF exploring using the bikes!

  • Dominick R

I'm convinced that there isn't a better bike rental place in the city. The bikes are great and well maintained, and there are many to choose from. They also provide you with locks & Helmets if needed.

  • Tomas Madsen

Golden Gate Rides ended up being the best way to tour San Francisco! I was able to see all ends of the city in one day - The Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, California Academy of Sciences, etc.

  • J Schlicht

Great service and great bikes! They have all kind of bikes in perfect condition! I tried a lot places in SF - for me this one is one of the best! It’s small, it’s personal and it is not a big chain!

  • Johanna Lindberg

Best bike rental experience ever. Excellent and friendly service, nice vibe, bikes in great condition and a wide range of choices. Super grateful to find this place, would highly recommend it!

  • Jon

The bridge is cold and windy, and the bike path is quite narrow with significant construction equipment stored on the path. 0/10 would not recommend bike rentals across the bridge.

  • Pat Rebakis

Really helpful and knowledgeable dudes who love riding and sharing it with travellers. It felt like I went to my local bike shop They took care of everything and we're great! …

It was great biking along the shore, across the Golden Gate Bridge and beyond. The bikes are new models and well maintained. A great way to explore the city and surrounding area.

This is a great shop in the Tenderloin for a bike rental. The people that work there are extremely friendly, helpful, and flexible, with reasonable prices. Bike was great too!

  • John

Worst repair shop in the city. Didn’t fix my flat and almost killed me with how they put my tire back on. Do yourself a favor and never EVER go here. Pure ignorance

Got the regular hybrid. Worked great, it was in perfect order. Proper size, lock included was excellent- attached to frame and out of the way. Will rent here again.

  • Harrison Taylor

Amazing service. Have great directions for a solid route. Saved us when we got a flat Only charged us a half day when we went a few hours over time. Do this one.

The best company! We rented e bikes and saw the entire city in a day. Also we got a flat tire but they came and met us to change it! Legendary :)
