My favourite Indigo store. I was able to find board games nobody else sells and the store kindly honored the online sale price of the game which was cheaper than in store. They have a good selection of Ravensburger board games which are my favourite, very interesting strategy games and some even have solo gameplay. Upstairs there is a great selection of manga which can be an expensive venture as books range from $10-25 per book and often have 10+ books in a series but are always worth it for me, as I reread books. I found the english translated novels by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu and of course bought them all, incredible series. For fans of the series found on Netflix 'the Untamed' and 'Heaven Official's Blessing', these are the novels these series are based on and are honestly the best books I've ever read, still waiting on the next volumes yet to be released. As for discounted books there is a great selection with amazing deals, some crossword books can be found for $3-7 if thats your interest, along with sudoku, wordsearches and lots of interesting books with a variety of genres. They have a rather large clothing area that had some great deals on mittens that were quite warm. I also noticed some pronoun enamel pins on the way out, very stylish. Staff around store are always helpful and cheerful and honestly just seem like they are happy to be there. Checkout lines can be very slow in my experience but I dont even mind the wait because usually I find twenty different things while waiting in line to look at that are ever so tempting to buy. Cashiers are always friendly. Honestly its just the best experience one could ask for in a book store, great variety, nice atmosphere and yummy smell of coffee from Starbucks next door. Also its relatively quiet despite how many people there are shopping, like a library, it makes me love it even more. Its a great place to find a little bit of happiness in your day❤️

I had to walk out and forefit my purchase. I felt that the cashiers were so slow and waste people's time who wait in line while they conversate with people about their plans for the weekend and things they enjoy... no scanning, no payments being made.. just chit chat and not sure what else, while everyone stands there stagnated. A complete lack of consideration or acknowledgement for long line ups. I left the line and went back to the kids section to try to avoid standing and not moving for 15 minutes, just to see a sign saying they aren't doing transactions there now... I went back.. line had piled up with more people and had not even moved since I walked away. I looked at amazon while I waited and found the books I was about to purchase, prices for way less. I anticipated waiting over 30+ minutes based on these people taking 5 minutes per customer to scan a book and scan a debit/card and had to leave. It was absolutely ridiculous. I told my husband about this bad experience... and he said he had to forefit his purchase as well after picking out a book and seeing how slow they were for the same reason! I hope your staff can be more mindful that people don't have 30 minutes to stand around and waste so they can buy a book from you that's overpriced.

Went in today to ask what happened to my order as it’s already a week late. I spoke with Sarah who lied and said she couldn’t check and had no access. When I asked her if the book was available in store she told me to use the app and then proceeded to be extremely condescending in telling how to use the app. When I said I know how to use the app she walked away as I was speaking to her. Later another associate came to help. Was extremely helpful and was able to look up my order. I wish I remembered her name. She was fabulous! Sarah was very rude and should not be working in customer service. Not to mention she did not help, she as extremely condescending and lied that she could not help then turned her back on a customer and walked away as I was speaking to her. Absolutely horrible experience today. I’ve never had a problem here before. It’s sad one rotten apple ruins the bunch.

Awful experience. So there’s this deal going on, buy 3 books get the fourth one free on ALL books. Nowhere did it say that books on sale don’t count. ALL books is ALL books. So I paid for all 4 books because they were on sale. I found the 2 books I wanted instantly and then spent 2 hours looking for 2 more books. After I cashed out, I realized that I’d paid for all 4. So I looked for someone to help me. There was no one! I had to stand in a long line up to return 2 books because the deal was misleading. Not only am I disappointed at the service, there was absolutely no way to check out the fiction books in the B section because of the table and chairs blocking the space. But I guess if no one is working in the store except at cash, there’s no way that they would have known. Probably won’t be going back to this location again and I live in Ancaster.

Pre-ordered a box set online and never heard anything about it for 2 weeks. I called and was told there was 'no inventory for it online and looks like the order got misplaced'. After numerous calls, I got a voicemail saying it was ready for pick up, and 15 minutes later, another call saying it was not ready. The reasoning was due to me paying a cheaper price online (pre-order sale plus a gift card) and if I wanted the stock they had in store, I would have to pay the $40 difference (for the EXACT same product). I was in store the other day and the exact box set I paid for was there. I've been getting the run around for nearly a month now. Management has done nothing to accommodate or speed this up - and being a Branch manager of a retail store myself, am disappointed in the lack of customer service.

Our girls love books and the staff have always been so gracious about letting the girls look at everything and enjoy the books and making us feel at ease with the mess they make, assuring us that seeing kids loving books is worth the clean up (we try and put things back properly but are not always sucessful). We've attended a couple of events there as well and the girls have thoroughly enjoyed the activities. All in all it's a welcoming atmosphere with helpful staff and this has become more apparent and awesome since we added twins to our mix. There are a lot of places we don't go anymore with twins but we are happy the bookstore is not one of them!

  • J R

It's okay. Their strengths are a really good selection of books and gifts, and the place looks very modern and tidy. What I don't like about it are the walls/shelves and the lighting; some of the wall units they use tower over you needlessly, making you feel like a rat in a maze, and their height also blocks a lot of the light from above from being dispersed evenly, so it's great if you really love seeing the tops of people's heads, but not so much for reading the spines of books sitting on the shelves. It's technically a good place to shop for books, but I don't much enjoy going in. I vastly preferred the old Chapters design before the renovation.

  • Kelly N

The staff here work hard! It was VERY busy today but they go go go! We had to wait but I was simply amazed by the choreography of so many working behind the counter getting everyone their drinks and food. One of the staff made a mistake with a drink and when the customer pointed it out, the staff member handled to excellent grace and corrected it right away. I had to wait a little for my drink but it was worth it. I had the hot chocolate and they warmed the chocolate brownie for me and it was AWESOME!! Also recently returned to pick up a book to read while feeling under the weather!

  • Katie Koniuch

I always enjoy shopping at Indigo, particularly this location. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the store is clean and organized. I recently had purchased something online and there was a mix up at the warehouse and the wrong item was shipped. I went into this location and one of the managers, Cam, helped me resolve the issue very quickly and everything was sorted out incredibly efficiently and without and stress for me - very happy with how everything was handled!! To the staff here - thank you and and keep up the amazing work!

  • trina Huynh

Always the best place to go rather you are in a bad mood or happy indigio never fails even if you dont buy any books its nice to stroll looking at books all day so many varieties we all cant get enough! Beautiful friendly staffs was welcomed yèsturday has you can see I stock up on my books already cant wait to read these! Personally i rather shop in store then online sometimes shipping is very dreadful the wait the anticipation that i want to read ķills.me.more.lol.

  • Tim Reynolds

I don't like how the books are not burying price tags. When I went looking into the store today I couldn't find the price of the books on them. I find that very annoying. They are pandering towards women in the store quite heavily and not really anything for men which is very disappointing men don't read? They still have a large selection the staff is friendly and very helpful. The store is very clean and they are definitely following covid guidelines

  • Terry Kaley

I called about a book I could only find at this location the person I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and polite and offered to hold the book for me until I could get there. The person I dealt with at the counter when Iinquired where I should pick up the book was very rude and continued to argue with me I was def surprised what terrible customer service! Be careful at the book pickup area people it's not a friendly place to say the least!

  • Tyler Whalen

I had a pretty poor/middling experience. Seems that its rapidly becoming less of a book store and approaching a strange sort of department store/book store hybrid. I was struggling to find things as the computers for searching for books were all out of service and it seemed impossible to find any employees to get assistance. In the end, its still one of our best options for getting books other than a library or amazon, so I guess it is what it is?

  • Fatema Zohra

The store is very spacious and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a wide variety of items available. I came to exchange a mug that arrived broken during the delivery and the manager was very understanding of my situation and gave me a one for one exchange. There is also a Starbucks inside the store which is a bonus. It is located in the Golf Links Plaza with Cineplex and other stores. Definitely going for a visit again

  • Sarah Rosen

Had a chance to visit this location to grab some quick holiday gifts. There was a crazy long line for check out, but the staff was very efficient, getting people moving and even using a hand held mobile pos system to check out people who were standing in line paying by debit or credit. Staff remained upbeat and cheerful, and what seemed like a horrible holiday shopping experience turned out to be quick and easy!

  • krissy miranda

First time visiting the Ancaster location, looking for a Paladone brand that's out of stock in most location, approched one of the staff, show the staff picture of the item and she took my name and number, So how's that even work if she find it she will call, didn't even bother looking in the system atleast and she just continued talking to her colleagues. DISAPPOINTING customer service.

  • Ng Wei

Disappointed that company policy does not accept face shields, what a complete waste. Will take my business elsewhere. Do have to give note to a wonderful young gentleman that worked in the kids section today that was a pleasant and courteous human centered person. Such a joy to come across in these crazy times. Keep him. It's the only thing that made a visit here positive.

  • Marcus Foreman

I was looking for a christmas gift for somebody and couldnt find what i was looking for online so i decided to ask and ask someone if they maybe had it and it was just marked down wrong online as a last effort. Even tho it was an unreasonable request cathrine answered the phone and was very understanding and went to check the shelf for me anyway. thanks cathrine!

  • Royce Kim

This Indigo, (formerly known as Chapters before the renovation) has a wide array of books from Cooking to Fashion to Politics. A very large and efficient task force, very clean and tidy, and has many other things suck as: Minerals, Bath Bombs, Clothing, Scarfs, Chocolate, and much more. I recommend this Indigo if you are in the general vicinity of this bookstore.

  • Sylvia

I really enjoy my shopping at this location. The staffs are always pleasant and helpful! Last night I went there for some notebooks and for some reason they weren’t showing 40% off on my receipt so I called them. They picked up the phone right away and verified for me. So I went there today to adjusted the prices. Very smooth. I was very happy and thankful.

  • Faust

Great little book store................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

  • Tamás

More than half of the place is home decor, you need to walk all the way to the back to find the actual bookstore part, and of course the books are crazy expensive (30-40 dollars for public domain classical literature which is all available in PDFs online.) Answers the question of why e-readers became popular. But at least there's a nice atmosphere right :)

  • Karen Moyes

Went in before Christmas, it was crazy busy. I didn't know exactly the book I wanted and almost left but I asked the woman at the door doing counts and although she was obviously very busy, she directed me happily and with the help of another employee I found exactly what I was looking for. Great experience!! Thank you !! Hubby loves the book

  • Lee Sabo

First time in the new store. Interesting layout, lots of 'decor items' and different things to buy (that aren't books) but still lots of books and grouped by category. In a slightly different way then before. The store looks more spacious, magazine area cleaner and not as crowded up to the Starbucks. Great service as always.

  • Denise Fogel

The new look of the store is beautiful, it is like wandering through a beautiful home. The shift to e reading was grossly evident with so many of the stacks gone. A little nostalgic for me I must admit. But still a great feeling in the store. Staff was super helpful with me solving my problem. Made it easy. Love that place.

  • K OS

Obviously a great spot to purchase books. I was a little disappointed there was not a lot of turnover for sticking stuffer type items. Usually they have a tonne of neat gadgets and gizmos but it seemed like I had previously purchased most of them last Christmas. I do like the additional Vinyl collection for music lovers

  • Alex

Used to be better before the redesign/renovation. It was more open and welcoming and colorful. Now it looks like a furniture store inside an asylum. One of the worst redesigns I've seen in a store. The selection is great and the store is big, but I go less often than before just because of it's cold atmosphere.

  • James Smith

Have gone here on many occasions and enjoyed it. Very tidy and well kept. Staff is always friendly and willing to help. The lady and I went for the Valentine's day celebration and I was blown away by how much there was. They had magicians, artists and even a wine tasting. Definitely my favorite book store.

  • Umi Shamji

LOVE LOVE LOVE indigo/ chapters! The great selection of books and products always keeps me going back! And for all those readers subscribing to their mailing list is worthwhile! You get to know all the deals (amazing deals**) on books and products you are interested in! There service there is great too!

  • Humza Bilal

We’ve been recently coming here cause our daughter enjoys browsing the store and they have some really cool books. Unfortunately I had a bad customer experience with one of the workers named Sam. She was very disinterested in her job and moody. Great store however maybe hire workers who actually care.

  • Kris Bee

Went to exchange a Christmas gift today. Was easy, no hassle. I love just walking around and looking at all the different options from hand bags, vinyl records, games and so much more. I find it’s a relaxing place to browse. Bonus the Starbucks attached to it. Bought a beautiful backpack on sale.

  • Julie Yoo

Clean, nice, well organized store. You can get Starbucks right on site. Washroom is well maintained. It has big reading table so you can take your time to pick right books. They have great selections on other home accessories or fashion sections. Always welcomed by working crew in the store :)

  • Susanne B

I know that they renovated the store a few years ago, but I find it odd that a 'book store' has all their books at the back of the store, and their soft goods (blankets, toys, chocolates and gifts) at the front. I feel really disoriented in this store. Not my favourite Indigo by a long shot.

  • Jarvis Yang

Recommend in store pick up. Since the store has tons of books, I could not find the books I am looking for. But I find in store pick up is convenient for my case. I just search the book online and click in store pick up. After a few days, picked up the books in store. Easy to buy the books.

  • Yoann Delalé

Very nice place : beautiful, calm, warm, it just feels good to be there! Offers books of all kinds (with a whole area dedicated to children), home products and other accessories (great for gift ideas). You can even grab a coffee inside as it shares a space with the Starbucks next door!

  • Xavier Marquez

Definitely a 5 star place to go! Just such a nice ambience, peaceful and calming. Great selection and variety. Maybe it's the Starbucks thats part of it. Also has big tables at the back which can be used as a study space. I almost use it like a local library.

  • Bill Belegrinis

Store renovation looks great, much needed revamp. Plenty of home items/housewares. Book I was looking for was in stock, as confirmed by their website prior to visiting store. Four cashiers at peak time on Saturday made checking-out painless.

  • Colby Wiley

Nice lay out, I understand why this is such a popular study spot. Connected to a Starbucks, so you can grab a coffee and look around. A good mix of gadgets and gifts while still sticking to their bookstore roots. The biggest complaint I

  • Chris Smith

So impressed with this store today! My 8yr son had ordered some books and a Harry Potter board game online with a gift card he received. When we received the package ( so quick!) though, 2 games are been sent in error. Figuring it was a

  • Emmanuel Mathi

This bookstore has probably the friendliest staff I’ve ever met!! Every few minutes I’d be greeted and asked if I needed help finding what I was looking for. Even the lady I met at the register had a cheery attitude. I really like that

  • Alisha Spykerman

A little bit of everything, never disappointed. One of my favourite Indigo stores to visit in person. Staff are always friendly and helpful and I love the layout. Especially when you walk in and can easily find local and popular reads!

  • Rob Kisielewski

Lots of unique, quality items at reasonable prices. Very large selection of books in hard and soft covers, magazines. Helpful polite staff at the cash registers. Good place to go to find good quality unique fun interesting gifts.

  • Louise Tamm

I love taking my time perusing the book shelves and looking for great gifts for family and friends! My plan is to work here one day when I retire from my dull time job (or win the lottery and just need something fun to do) :)

  • Donald Bolton

Fantastic book store, pretty huge place and if it does not have the book you want you can probably order it. Has a pretty cool kids section and board games. Also has a bunch more than books, a true must try experience.

  • Karen

Price range up wrong and cashier never noticed. I had to inform her and do a return to get the correct price. You should have a screen for the clients to see what items ring up as. Cashier was very professional.

  • Nouha mohamed

My favourite place. Specially the shelf Buy 3 for $10 . It's the best deal for reading lover also I like the atmosphere overall. P.s : there's a perfect candles offer. I love the smell and the price really good.

  • Lori Sinuita

Love this newly renovated location. The layout is great, the kids area is perfect on a rainy afternoon... great place to browse and pick out new books. Starbucks is always overcrowded, could be 3 times as big!

  • A to Z Podcast

Absolutely lovely! I was helped by an employee named Andy and they were so kind and helpful! We had a great conversation and they helped me pick a great book! Amazing location with five star customer service!

  • A S

Great location for french speaking families or french immersion kids. They have greatly expanded their jeunesse section. There are a wide variety books for children of all ages. I will be back with my kids.

  • Laura Escalante

It’s hard to find stuff and they don’t have a lot of stuff on the floor and they took down the computers to help you search. A bit frustrating but overall good selection and pleasant to browse.

  • Lisa Kwan

Pretty long wait shopping so close to the holidays. But the line moved at a decent place. Staff were friendly and assisted me in getting what I needed. They offered good suggestions for gifts.

  • peter james

Always love having no time restrictions when I go to indigo. You can feel the "library vibe" it's pretty quiet and cozy to just get your nose into a book or 2 while still in the store! Lol

  • Kaellum

Interesting selection of books and other gifts. Could use a better or bigger section for sales maybe have an area to leave a book by trading a book. Any community involvement?

  • Tom

Many journal and magazines to choose from. The same person is "borrowing" books without paying again at 4:45 to 4:50 pm Aug 12 2023. He never returned any items he borrowed.

  • Marylou Mcmaster

Did not have the book I wanted. They sell way too much home decor items now. Tbe diiscount book sectio n is very small. Iiked .much better before changed to indigo.

  • Usman Rana

Amazing playground for kids of all ages. Nice swings, hammocks, Zipline, Pickle ball courts and an Amazing cricket ground with a practice facility and bleachers.

  • Beatriz Arnold

Really nice products, workers, and interior. But as usual, the products were SO expensive. An outrageous amount. We saw a small tea package for 20 dollars!

  • Anthony Russello

Ordered a few things online prior to Christmas for pickup at the store. Communication was perfect, and pickup couldn't have gone better. I picked up the

  • Jonathan

Clean store, seems to be well run. Very limited interaction with the employees but they seemed nice. It's another Indigo, kind of what you would expect!

  • Arianna Augier

Had all the books I was interested in, it was very clean and organized. I almost spent 2 hours there just adding books to my future buy list :))

  • Gurjeet Dhaliwal

Big collection of books nice place, bit too busy bit maybe just because of holiday season. Love selection of puzzles and other merchandise too.

  • Aliyeh R

I love this bookstore. There are lots of good books, sale items for different range of prices, and great gift options. Staff are very friendly.

  • Catherine Mithun

Loved the store. The store was big and had a lot more collections to choose, from the other outlets of Indigo that I have visited so far.

  • Clio Winnowski

Great place! There’s this one older lady who works at the checkout that I’ve never had a great experience with, but that’s no big deal!

  • Edward Caissie

A good selection with helpful and non-intrusive staff; and, that's not to mention you can get your Starbucks and browse the store, too.

  • Judson Carter

Didnt realize the amount of toys they had there for reasonable prices especially for my special needs son who loves mini vehicles lol

  • Sean B

They sell a lot of useless trinkets here. But they still have a few books in the back somewhere. This place is quite insufferable.

  • Sarah F

Accessibility issues were addressed! Overall quaint and cozy and good selection. Some areas get decently disorganized (business)

  • Stephanie Murrell

This store has a great selection and an interesting layout that keeps the shopping experience interesting at every turn.

  • Anu Prajapati

Love their collection on books, decorations and all. We bought beautiful wine and whiskey glasses and lots of books

  • REBECCA PUNTHAKEE

It's a clean arena. There are also many community programs that run there such as stroller fit and a play group.

Good aesthetic, large product selection. Book kiosk was down, and they don't match prices from their online site

  • Melissa Kleinjan

They provide helpful service there and it's beautiful place to relax and look around. 10/10 would recommend

  • Aslan Jafari

All their computers were down recently, which made looking up any book a mission and half. Please fix them

  • James McAlister (Kessbar)

It's was an okay experience. The computers were out of service, so searching for a book was a challenge.
