"Such a great building, charging a lot,but the worst service İ’ve ever seen! 1-Rude staff, except managers, who are used as a shield to reduce your anxiety(anger) when the personal makes mistakes! 2-İncompetent staff, especially who are directing people where to go next for the further operations! 3-Wherever you go,whatever you do,you have to wait in a long queues, just to see the doctor and learn that you have to go to see another doctor for further treatment! 4-İn some rooms(counters, receptions etc"

This place is unbelievably absurd. Are these people even serious about their profession? And let me be specific: the pediatrician team of doctors and nurses (with the exception of a few good men and women who do take their job seriously) on the maternity ward. Up until after the birth of my child, everything was taken care of, and things went quite well. But afterwards, the mistakes, miscommunication after miscommunication, and throw neglect in the mix, and we are still not done. Some staff members are just saying things for the sake of saying things and not following up. Everyone keeps pushing the troublesome things to the next colleague who doesn't or barely knows what has transpired. Things could have gone horribly wrong if one of my family members (who isn't a dr. or nurse by the way) hadn't noticed/seen that something was going on with my baby. And we ofcourse were observant, and I get it, if its busy, stressful, etc. even though we had overseen or didn't make a fuss about certain things that were happening, our leniency has a limit. But when it comes to advising you on a VIP room and other expensive stuff ow then they act like the car salesman that won't let up. Then they are thorough, attentive and vigilant. The hospital had goodwill with some people I knew, but I need to rethink if their recommendation was posed with good intent. I will avoid this hospital at all cost, they ruined any patience, empathy, goodwill and faith I had in them.
Such a great building, charging a lot,but the worst service İ’ve ever seen! 4-İn some rooms(counters, receptions etc.) there are a lot of people who are just sitting out their working hours! 5-İf you didn’t find alternative hospital(s) or medical center(s) be ready for wasting your time(day) just waiting in a queues and killing your nerve cells, because you didn’t get exact answer (you will only hear “just wait!” from the personnel). 6-When you are trying to explain your complain, may be you will hear this-“ On saturday’s are like that, because personnel works half-overtime,on monday’s you will hear-“On monday is like that!”,İ think other days they will say same. After seeing such a bad service you will just get “İ am sorry!” and that’s all no more,no less! Those are just a few of what i have experienced there! P.S.Personnel works too slow, which makes you terrified! After several visits, I am once again convinced that neither the building nor the expensive equipment, but only the well-chosen staff can make you the best in your field!
I was medical air rescued and taken to Aga Khan hospital. I know the doctors did their best but as far as the nursing goes they leave a lot to be desired, with an exception of a few good nurses. . Upon placing a drip in my arm the nurse proceeded to push down extremely hard onto the drip to get viles of blood ....who does this barbaric thing I was in agony....why did he not use the port to get the blood...it was barbaric. When I complained he looked at me and said nearly finished and continued to fill 2 more viles. Where I come from nurses take care to make sure the patient who is in actual fact paying his salary, is comfortable and in the least bit of pain not treat a patient as if they were a criminal ....upon discharge , I had no relatives I needed to do the billing myself but I was told that was not possible. Eventually I was escorted out by security guards as I insisted I leave and sort out my billing ....as if I were some criminal ...gosh I am paying private hospital fees to be treated in this way I was very disappointed. The kitchen staff and cleaners were wonderful and friendly and the food very good but I'm sorry to say there is a genuine lack of professionalism in the nursing care don't treat your patience with arrogance they are paying your salaries treat them with kindness.
Aga khan hospital!!! Beautifully well designed and nicely organized hospital right in-front of the Indian Ocean, basically they also have an emergency gate which is overseeing ocean road. It was 1130hrs in the night, 09th February 2023! My wife, and our month old daughter angel was feeling pretty uncomfortable, scientifically says 3- 5 at-least 6hrs crying happens.. Now as we were directed by the operator who picked up the call, we used the same instructions.. up until the reception at the emergency attendance, the guard very kind to take us there! Lady, nurse asked to proceed for opening her file at the price of 112,000 ( infant month old ) As we finish the process, we returned to the attendance on reception and she puts us on the bed which is on the right hand side of her table and closes the curtains. Now, very unprofessionally this lady I saw on thee reception desk comes and asks couple of questions, and she goes oh the baby is fine… pls wait here the doctor is coming…. And it never ended we sat for at-least, 3hrs.. no sign of the pedestrian? Rafikis, at the hospital — What the hell on earth was that service given to my month old daughter!
Japanese follows english.> Reliable hospital and once you have sickness in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, you can get the best treatment. Especially for the local people as well as the foreigners including travelers and expats, this hospital is the best hospital to visit. They are operating 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days operation. Thanks to them, I could get back to normal condition with their full-fledged support, medication, everything. If something sick you find out and not easy to recover by yourself, ask your GP for referral to here and see the Expert Doctors. If you have any concern or uncomfortable situation, you can get better treatments. I highly recommend here.
The hospital is good. However the procedures that need to be followed when you need medical services are time consuming and inconvenient. If you are the patient, you cannot visit the hospital alone and would require someone to come along and assist you. From the reception area, waiting for the doctors, registering your application in case you are a new patient, scheduling surgeries to buying medicines from the pharmacy, all these tasks cannot be easily done in one area and requires you to move from one end of the building to another just to get things done. The waiting and queues are a separate story altogether. The plus points would include the service of the staff. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. They are constructing a new wing to improve their services which is great. The view is incredible. In terms of cost, it is very expensive. The hospital certainly has scope for improvement and is one of the best hospitals in Dar es Salaam.
On August 26th while on vacation in your wonderful country I was out dining when a fish bone became logged in my throat. I arrived at your hospital seeking medical assistant. From the 1st encounter with your staff at the Information desk to the day of procedure I was treated with compassion and competence. Although Dr Khamis, ENT was ending his day he took the time to see me. It was decided that a trip to the theater (Operating Room) was warranted. On the day of my procedure the staff, Nurses Josephine, Mary and Soffie provided excellent care. They answered all my questions and offer comfort. Anesthesiologist, Dr Frederick explained the procedure and answered all my questions. Although I am a healthcare worker (Respiratory Therapist) I still had many questions and they were all answered. Your staff was very professional and provided world class service. They are an assest to your organization.
The hospital is very clean. The healthcare providers look very professional. The supporting staffs are also very welcoming and supporting; always ready to help. There are so many specialists and high tech equipments. But sometimes the whole process of getting the service can be very slow. I think this in part is attributed to the computer system they are using. Some staffs seems to be a bit lagging behind - in time they will catch up. The hospital has a relatively enough packing space. Size was reduced recently, don't know exact reason but I suspect it has something to do the current expansion of Ocean road. But honestly I think hospital has the highest standards and provides the best health care in Tanzania. I haven't been in every hospital but in comparison to those I have been, there is no other place you would want to be when sick that in The Aga Khan Hospital.
Terrible, the service is absolutely terrible. First: This is what annoyed me the most, i did an ECHO test, and i had to wait seven days just to get a result, a whole week, i am not in Dar but i had to get my results after a week, back and forth movement just for my results, better tell me to wait a whole week rather than waste my time, their services are trash and. Time wastage Second: you pay for some services, and only after paying and going to the checkup room that is when you are told the machine isn't working, so why wait until i pay to bring this up? Third: time wastage, just to see the doctor an expensive amount is charged, yet you could expect to get quick express service but you stay hours just to see the doctor.
Caring for a patient has to be as simple with less time consuming and also in privacy! At Aga Khan Hospital, the billing station for outpatient at the laboratory department is crowded with many patients and the attendant has to talk to a patient to confirm the lab tests that need to be taken meanwhile everyone can listen to the conversation. This is not the best practice in my opinion, they have to look at it again and correct it. It also takes a long time to get to see a doctor, the waiting time is anything from 1hr to 3hrs, for a patient that need attention is not good at all.
Visited Aga khan Hospital to consult with an orthopedic. He was actually very good and was honest. Listened to my problems and suggested accordingly. Unlike other so called ‘well-known’ private hospitals in Dar, he didn’t suggest random tests or medications. Even the service at reception, bill pay was swift and orderly. I was happy that I didn’t have to deal with unorganized management/staff while walking around sick. The hospital is easy to navigate also. Price is of course high but since my Insurence paid it, I won’t complain. Would go back again if ever fall sick.
Beautifully designed hospital bringing a different perspective of how we imagine hospitals here in Tz. It integrates well with the upgraded roads and offers a beautiful view (depending on the wing) of the Indian ocean and the new Tanzanite bridge. I was lucky to visit the V.I.P rooms and i was impressed with how clean and neat the place was with Plasma TV and sofa coach in the rooms. The ongoing extension on the opposite side of the road will definitely blow my mind upon completion. I just hope that the services here are as great and not business as usual.
Wish had an option of giving star in minus numbers even then it wouldnt have been worth it not even worth a zero star.. Traumatic & horrible experience at Aga khan hospital. we had two traumatic experiences at Aga khan; 1st in maternity and then in paediatrics in less than a weeks time.. Dont go on its outer look its inner is as worst as it could get...will be sharing our experiences with as many groups as possible to save other victims from the hell of what we had to go through... They make you pay through your nose for a one way ticket to hell.
Recommended by a friend and I must say it exceeded my expectations. A professional and clean enviroment and the staff at the hospital are friendly, welcoming and professional at the same time. I would recommend to everyone especially those from overseas as staff are well informed and also speak English. I am Tanzanian but British Born and cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you Aga Khan! Hi, Naazneen is it possible to email you just wanted to bring something to your attention.
Nothing has changed after the last complaint. They still do slow and unprofessional. What they say on the phone doesn't exist at all. How come a doctor comes 1 hour late and acts as if nothing has happened. There are too many steps until you see the doctor♂️. Staff in the billing counter are so rude that they are not aware of working in a private hospital. After all the process, waiting for 2 hours to see the doctor♂️. Huge disappointment. When do they improve???
I went into reception to ask for a PCR covid test and the reception staff were unbelievably rude to me. I informed them of my situation - my flight back home to London was the next day - and they were incredibly unhelpful. I left immediately. Professional services in Dar es Salaam are really bad - from hotel to healthcare services. It's very upsetting but I genuinely regret coming here and don't think I'll ever return.
Aga Khan Hospital is one of the best hospitals in Dar es Salaam. The environment here is very good and it is managed by many experience doctors. The cost of treatment here is a little higher but the treatment methods and results are much higher than other hospitals. The duty staff here are very helpful and polite. I will recommend this hospital to everyone for treatment. I got very good results from here
They have the worst dentist(s). I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here for dental works. I went for an emergency tooth filling, but the doctor(incompetent) did such a terrible job that it caused a tooth abscess in that tooth's root canal. I had to endure insane amount of pain and pay out of pocket for an even more expensive process few months after leaving Tanzania.
We come with baby paid a lot of money they keep us over night at private room on pawilon 5th floor. When we arrive doctor was great but next day doctor on the shift at pawilon 5th floor was not even a doctor was random person who have no idea what to do . Not so good experience this more like expensive hotel not a hospital
Amazing experience at the maternity, I had a normal delivery and stayed for 2 days, the staff and doctors were very helpful and kind, the hospital is very clean and hygienic, the food was good and the level of care excellent. Very comfortable overall. Good rates for the maternity packages. I really recommend.
It has good health facilities, with good equipments such as MRI, CT scan, ultrasound and x-ray.. caring and loving staff members with good services to their patients and patients relatives. Although they are bit slow in xray, waiting time for an xray is a bit longer than in other departments.
Amani! Hospital sends reminder email without Date or Time ⏲️ of Covid 19 Test or exact room # or details of where in Hospital Test is given.... However, email does give cost of USA price in dollars .....Detailed information is important . …
The hospital is very good especially the doctors, facilities and even their medicines but you need to improve the following: The nurses especially outpatients are not organised and very slow The toilets arent clean they smell Much respect to maternity ward staff their amazing
On 19 January 2023 I attended Aga Khan Hospital Dar er Salaam for checkup. Thanks to Dr. Zahra Khan, Fatima Tawer and the rest of Aga Khan staff who provided me with an excellent services. I’m so impressed to Dr. Zahra Khan who I’m still in contact for medical advice.
One of the best well equipped instrument and start wise, caring staff, competent service providers working at a timely manner to provide the best service. It's neat and large to accommodate many patients undergoing construction to increase it's patients capacity
Professionnal and fast services. Staff is nice and helpfull. Special thanks to the cardiologist Dr Zahra Khan who provided me with highly professional care, planned exams and explained me everything. Also thank you to radiologist Halima Mwalimu for her kindness.
I had a family member at ICU unit and they were well taken care of. The staff was hospitable as well as professional. The doctors were empathetic and understanding and made sound decisions even when under pressure. Would not go anywhere else.
Never seen a Hospital except Aga Khan charging money for showing the test results to the Dr. who had prescribed it . Patients pay to see a specialist , when they come back again to show the lab reports prescribed by the same specialists, it …
Dr Hossam, the urologist, is a very well qualified specialist in the field of urology. The way he diagnoses the issue and treats, is outstanding. His services are well above par, and I would recommend him. He targets the problem, and does …
They take high payments and then the staff literally acts like a patient doesn’t exist , they give such mild answers that don’t answer your questions and concerns , it’s beautiful outside but has a very very dark inside, very disappointing.
I spent 10 days in ICU .... all I can say is that this is probably one of the best hospitals I have ever been admitted to via the trauma unit. The best nursing staff and best doctors. They saved my life. I am forever grateful to them❤
The hospital has good surroundings and care. It is easily accessible by all means of road transport. The service is very good, there is no inconvenience, but it is a little expensive
The place is clean, the staff are good and helpful, the process is easy , but you must finish all your requirements at least 7:30 in case you are going for outpatient clinics
Takes long time, If you have enough money you can opt for emergency Dept to save time Deposit payment of about 250K per patient required at Emergency Dept.
I wish all hospitals were like this...clean n at their best behavior... services are much better that many other hospitals I have been at. Keep it up.
Good experience. Very clean very nice services. The hospital is clean. The staff are friendly. But the hospital is very expensive.
Better quality services but a bit expensive.
Very expensive and they charge extra money for no reason kindly check your bill before paying. This goes for all hospitals.
