The greatest shame in the Netherlands! They do not care about the local every day returning client, much, much less of the passenger spending tourist! Mostly young cheap labour personnel who don't give a dam, are very rude and have a quick sharp mouths. Personnel will support each other against the customer if you have a complaint. They have never grasped the concept of Customer Experience! (Klant Belevenis). You better learn these words; it will be most beneficial during your stay in the Netherlands. You spend your money and have the right to service and quality! Especially if you don't speak Dutch! Managers and team leaders never last. Be aware of the promotions and discounts; Signs never match the products, so you choose a more expensive article than you thought. Since you can't read Dutch, minding the small letters won't help you. It is one of the most expensive venues in Holland, if not the most, yet, despite its size, you will find a different assortment of other smaller franchises. At least you'll get entertained in another tourist traps, do NOT shop here! Last but not least! Despite the urban planning and new street remodelling , witch supposed to be finished by december last year ( Thank you City Mayor! ) and placincing of benchs making more place fo beggars, junkies and homeless besides the stairsteps.

AH is a huge supermarket chain across the Netherlands and this one is situated in the heart of the city behind the town palace (dam square). It's well stocked and popular and is open for nearly 14-15 hours a day which is very helpful. Common groceries, fresh produce, cooked meals, snacks and several household utility items are easily available. There is a baker in house where you can get warm bread and baked snacks every morning. One stop store for all your everyday needs

I’ve gone here everyday of my trip to Amsterdam so far. Why? I don’t really know. They have a lot of options at good prices! Something I can’t get in Paris. And they have markdowns on fresh food when it’s nearing expiry. I liked to stop by for some juices, smoothies, and fruits. I wish we had this in Paris. I’d recommend for tourists who don’t want to spend too much money eating out or at restaurants. Go to an AH and grab something small and healthy to fuel your body!

Very convenient location but quite pricey and has some stock issues. The fresh fruit and vegetable section had many completely empty sections during a recent Monday late afternoon visit. There are usually queues at the cashier and after putting all my purchases through, I was told the till wasn't working, the cashier closed the station and I had to repack everything and join another queue. So generally OK but could do better.

Er stonden laatst 4 meiden bij de servicebalie. Ze stonden minutenlang onderling te praten terwijl er 3 klanten in de rij wachten om geholpen te worden. S avonds staat er een irritante dame bij de servicebalie die het werk duidelijk niet aan kan. Ik zag haar zomaar schreeuwen naar een klant. De beveiliger die hier al jaren werkt is wel echt een chille gast.

I am not sure what I think about stores where you check out your groceries yourself. It is great when it works. But if you need anything like tobacco wares you need to find an employee to get it for you. And when hardware (or software) of checkouts are not right, you sometimes which you had stood in line with 15 others!

Functions as a good enough AH for tourists, but is severely lacking in a lot of other aspects (product variety, especially frozen food for example). Also not really clean when compared to other Albert Heijn locations (I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and blame it on the high traffic that they experience)

choatische ingang/uitgang. medewerkers zijn moeilijk te vinden, maar nemen de tijd om je goed te helpen. Normaalgesproken hangen er borden met wat er per gangpad te vinden is. Dit hebben ze hier blijkbaar niet. Verder is er veel loopruimte in de winkel, maar kan het wat schoner bij de broodafdeling.

I've been there 30 minutes before closing time so many shelves were already empty or almost empty. But in general it could be a good store. Relatively big, there is many choice of food. There is Japanese bar or something like that inside the shop. The staff are friendly and nice.

Excellent place to grab food and drinks then explore Amsterdam. Amazing sandwiches made in front of you. Make sure you order a combo with fresh juice for under 6 euros. Also has a great selection of beer. Approved for cheap eats and excellent delicious drinks

Homophobe and transphobe security guards, who will use physical violence against you without thinking twice. Reflective of Albert Heijn policy I guess, which doesn’t care about hiring child labour or hateful people. Boycott this chain, or at least this store.

Very good selection of products, however almost always very busy due to its central location. Also, please note that the AH is one of the more expensive supermarket chains - but you can get some good deals if you look for discount stickers in this store.

Servicebalie wilt mijn winst van 189 euro niet uitbetalen omdat ze zogenaamd geen geld in de kassa hebben. Niemand kan mij wijs maken dat de grootste AH filiaal van Nederland geen 189 euro in de kassa heeft liggen en dat op een drukke donderdagmiddag.

Niet alleen werkt men hier zonder handschoenen op de bakkers afdeling, waardoor mensen hun zweet via hun handen in mn eten deponeren, maar ik zag hoe de medewerkster letterlijk in een magazijn dozen ging tillen met diezelfde blote klauwen. …

Massive grocery store right off of Dam square around around the corner from the W Hotel. They have everything you could need from fresh and packaged food to toiletries and paper products. Very impressed with the quality of their prepared salads.

Only go here if you want to get trampled by stupid, clueless, tourists. Especially the obligatory obese Americans blocking the isles....Staff: inexperienced, rude and way too young to handle the amount of crowds this supermarket attracts.

Great supermarket overall but many shelves were half-empty when we visited, especially with alcohol. The beer shelves are not very conveniently organised in my opinion - I would prefer everything in one place rather than scattered

It’s our first time in Amsterdam and we’re so grateful to have the market right down the corner of the street. Great snacks to go. Happy about the vegan snacks/sandwiches there! Loving the self service cashier!

Pizzas here are better than pizzerias around. (They have oven inside and bake pizza for you). Staff is very kind and polite too. Right behind Dam Square.

For a shopping mall it was a disappointment. There were only 3 stores. It is a beautiful building. This building is the old historic post office.

Een echte toeristen Albert Heijn. Van stroopwafels tot mooie waterflessen. Wel ruim opgezet allemaal.
