I am super picky when it comes to hair stylists. So when it came to a major makeover (i haven't really done much with my hair in last 2 years, since i had a baby) I was very nervous, but also desperate for a change. By complete chance I heard about Arcana Salon on one of the Facebook Junction groups. Few ladies were very impressed so I decided to dodge the bullet and give it a shot. It was not cheap (which I knew it wouldn't since i had a lot done) but I am very happy with the results. Colour turned out so much better then I ever thought it would. I still need time to enjoy my hair cut, and see how I like it after couple of weeks but so far I am very happy. Entire experience was fantastic. Thea was very patient, we chatted about my cut and colour change for a while, I didn't feel rushed and she understood really well what I was looking for <3 yay! ***UPDATE (8-months later)*** I've been back to Arcana few times now. I am super happy customer. It is now my go-to-place, Thea is officially my new favourite hair-dresser. Her cuts are consistent, I don't even have to say much anymore, I just come in and she cuts my hair perfectly, just the way I want it. My hair colour went through few more adjustment, and I actually end up going even lighter. I absolutely love my transformation. <3

Had my hair cut here by Nicole and it’s nearly impossible to put into words how much I’m in love with my hair. My friend and I got there early, which was no big deal because of the comfy chairs and bench they have for you (which includes many rad pillows). The salon and people are immediately welcoming and warm. And Nicole walked me through the whole process of what she was going to do, to achieve what I wanted, which was to cut off a majority of my hair after growing it to my waist over a two year period. Plus little Nori is there to keep you company!! Overall, I’m beyond happy with my experience and I definitely recommend this salon!!

I just moved back to the city and needed a place to get my hair done, and Arcana was recommended to me by a friend. I was so satisfied with my experience - the professionalism (especially now post-COVID), authentic and genuine care in making you look and feel your best, the customer service and connection you feel at this salon is like no other! I met and was serviced by one of the owners, Thea, and she is simply the sweetest. She takes her time and goes above and beyond to make her clients feel good. Highly recommend this gem of a salon.

I'm so glad I was recommended to go to this salon - specifically to see Ramona. She is a true blonde pro. Ramona had so much great knowledge to share with me. After discussing a bit about my hair and what I was looking for, she helped me figure out what I needed re: blonde tone, treatment options (my hair has been blonde for a long time) and plan re: length. Ramona is continuously updating her skills and educating herself and always has so much time/patience to chat and catch up. She's the best! Go see her, you won't regret it.

I’ve been going to Arcana since they opened and it’s one of the only salons I’ve been so committed to! It’s probably because they are so effortlessly on point - I trust them completely with my hair at this point, I know they understand my style and trust their aesthetic. I’m lucky that Thea keeps up with my needy hair demands (I have bangs) but I’ve also had Nicole cut my hair and she’s awesome too. Covid is not easy and their communication with clients and personalized care really stood out.

I had a fantastic experience at Arcana this week! Thea was my stylist and I can honestly say that I’ve never been so happy with my hair after a cut, ever. She was so kind and made me feel super comfortable right away. She asked me lots of questions and explained what would be best for my hair. On top of loving my hair she showed me a few really easy styling tips for my extremely low maintenance routine. The salon is also SO cute and clean. I will definitely be recommending Thea to all my pals!

I got my haircut with Dean after driving by Arcana and seeing their instagram. I like the trendy young vibe which is a lot different from other salons in Hamilton. I absolutely love my haircut, Dean is very skilled at his job. He spent his time making sure my hair was perfect and knew how to work with my fine hair to make it have volume and texture. I have never had anyone put so much detail and care into my haircut before. I will definitely be returning and recommending Arcana to my friends!

Thea has been doing my hair for 15 years. We experiment with different cuts and colours and they always compliment each stage of my life. She is kind, creative and an all-star at her craft. Nicole is the greatest hairdresser in Toronto, no exaggeration. She listens to what you want and I've always left super happy with my hair (and I've had tons of bad experiences). It's also really nice to have genuine conversations with interesting people rather than phony chit chat you get at most of the lame salons in this city. Thank you for blessing MY LIFE, Nicole. Everyone here makes you feel comfortable the second you walk in - they're all good people. ARCANA FOREVER!

It's been a month since my cut and I can't say I'm 100% satisfied. It's not the worst haircut I've ever had but certainly not the best. It feels unfinished and I have to wear my hair in a ponytail or bun just so I don't have to deal with it. I doubt I'd give this spot a second try, too expensive for a mediocre cut. Nice place though. They give tea or water while you wait. Lovely stylist but didn't give me what I want or need.

Fantastic salon. The best hair cut experience I’ve ever had. The stylists are all lovely and are perfect for those with a more punk style. Best part though: Nicole’s tiny dog Nori is there and will sit on your lap while you get your hair cut. Also all services are extremely well priced and I love their booking service — all online. Just pick the date, time and stylist you want from what is available. Love this salon!!

Had a great experience at Arcana recently! Mitchell gave me a lovely cut, he was so intuitive with the shape of it and gave me the layers I’ve dreamed of! He also gave me a warm, subtle balayage which I love more each time I look at it. The salon is petite and beautiful, decorated sweetly and they had a great playlist going. No complaints and I’ll definitely be back as soon as I need a touch up!

This Texas tourist was in need of a quick wash and blow-out for a dressy event - as luck would have it, I was staying within walking distance of this gem of a hair salon! Styled my hair just as I wanted. Bonus - they sell the same R+Co products as my salon in Dallas. Was able to get some "super-glue-in-a-can" hair spray while I was there. Reasonably priced and so pleasant.

I love getting a haircut by Ramona, she is knowledgeable, skilled, kind, pays attention to what type of cut you want, offer suggestions and gives you tips on how to style your hair at home. My hair has never look so healthy and stylish! Living on the West coast, I cross the country to see her! The salon is funky, has great R&co products, which have divine smells!

I had a lovely haircut experience with Dean! I went for a trim and to get my bangs fixed up and Dean did an amazing job giving me a new style which was exactly what I wanted. I appreciated his attention to detail because I have relatively thick hair and many salons I've been to in the past tend to rush through a cut (and that never ends well). I will 100% be back!

My wife came in for a special appointment and when she was almost finished, she said that it was alright if I stopped by. (I live right down the street) When I arrived my wife was in bliss have the dye washed out. I was offered a beverage while I waited and chit chatted the whole time. Very friendly. Great atmosphere. And damn! Her do was AWESOME! Me likes.

Had my first haircut today with Dean, the experience I had far exceeded my expectations. One of the best hair cuts I’ve ever had. He took time at the beginning of our appointment to go over everything I was looking for, his hair cutting technique and styling was amazing and I felt so comfortable in the space. Went for the first time today and am very happy I did. The haircut is great and Jill answered any questions I had about hair care. She was friendly and engaged with me for the whole appointment, and the salon has a very comfortable and inviting atmosphere. 100% recommend.

Great service, great crew. Although they're positioned as a more adult and hip place, I took my 6 year old daughter for a cut and the crew had all the patience of the world with her (and she felt like a grown up lady having a haircut). Will definitely be back.

I've been going to Arcana for years now, first in Toronto and have since followed to Hamilton, and the hair services are always high quality! Each of the stylists have their own unique character, but all of them have superb talent. Overall a great vibe!

Thea is BOMB. Extremely knowledgeable and brings artistic value to what the client wants. She made the perfect toner to give a little subtle hint of pink for my growing out balayage. Definitely seeing her for demi colour after it washes out!
