Consider this location the neighbor store for most of your necessities! Mom no longer drives because of Dementia so my sister and I need to take her grocery shopping or cart food items in. She is still very independent and would like to shop on her own. During a recent walk we stopped in to investigate the Greenhill Avondale's offerings. The store is well stocked, the prices are reasonable and there is an Express M&M Meats. The manager, Karen is extremely helpful, kind and gave us a tour of the entire store. Mom is now comfortable and can easily walk here in 5 minutes. This is the perfect community store!
A sign on the front door indicates that three customers at a time are allowed in the store during our current covid situation. There were eight people in the store at the time. Obviously, I did not go in. Also, the person working there was not wearing a mask at all and was walking up and down the aisles organizing shelves. On another occasion, the person working was fully and properly masked and ensured that only three customers were inside at a time. Seems to be hit and miss as far as adhering to covid protocols.
One lady who works there is overcharging I purchased chips for $3.69 and a lotto max with encore $6. The girl charged me $13 it should have been just over $10. I didn't notice until I was halfway home, so I let it slide. Next time going in a few weeks later she did it again, but I called her on it. She said oops sorry. If she gets away with scamming $1-$2 from say every 6/10 people she has a good little side racket going on.
Honestly I go here with friends sometimes for snacks but there snacks are expensive a FREAL cost more then 4 bucks, not to mention that some of the employees are racist, they made my friend (who is a different race) leave his back at the front (they did not ask me to leave my bag at the front) and they kept looking at him like he was going to steal although there is some nice employees
False advertisement wasn't helpful at all and trying to find simple water. Case of water with a picture on it says 299 but then she says it's a $17 would not ever come here to spend any type of money. Needs a busy bee instead.
Again, tried to go to the Avondale on Mount Albion and Greenhill, in Hamilton, and the employee was not wearing a mask and neither was the customer. Had to go to a different variety store.
Ignorant worker I met today. No customer service. Just plain rude and miserable. Blonde younger girl. Sitting on your phone the whole time with absolutely no help.
Friendly staff and decent selection. Often has items for less than the grocery store in the same plaza, plus better hours if you need something late at night.
Terrible people i was purchising a couple of snacks and the lady was straight up rude go to any other avandale but this one also smells like trash
I think that young people have to learn faster where things are. Not only using the phone and sitting on the chair.. sorry boss
this store smells like a septic tank more often than not, and it hasn't been cleaned or renovated in 30 years.
Havent been here in ages - remember it being a typical Avondale, needed renos done, pretty tired looking store
Sherise is super friendly! Great store!
