It's Heavenly. If you hit the place on right day of time you can capture some breathtaking photographs. It is a paradise for photographers, bikers, dog walkers, boat owners, runners, family picnics and romantic couple outings. If you are into creative field and wish to use it for brainstorming the park offers various solitary spots with serene environment. The park is vast and amenities include water fountains, benches, tables and washrooms. The premises are kept clean which shows it is very well managed. The variety of flowers offer a picturesque backdrop. The parking is ample and free but if it is a bright sunny weekend, you might run out of luck. On weekdays, evenings are pretty packed but I don't see issue with parking. Parking lot is divided into two. The one close to the water (central parking) is exclusively for cars or trucks with boat trailers (please check pictures) DON'T GET CONFUSED. DO READ THE SIGNS BEFORE PARKING. All in all it is a great spot to spend a day with your family and friends. Have a happy outing. Thanks.

My brother and I can walk around anytime through the day or night all year round. It's a nice area to visit. We got to see the boats, that people own on the dock. They do have restaurant called Williams Fresh Cafe. They also have outdoor roller skating and ice skating. They have a hut, where you can buy fast food and beverages. In the evening, we got to see the reflection of the sun on the lake, that was beautiful to see. They do have telescopes, we can look through to get a closer look. I always check their website to see what else they have for us to do and see. They do have a free Parking Lot with Wheelchair Accessible Parking Lots. They do have Restrooms and Wheelchair Accessible Entrances. They do have city buses picking up and dropping off passengers during the day and evenings.
Playground
They do have a place for children to play.
Dog-friendliness
I do see people bringing their pet dogs on a leash.
Picnic area
They have areas with picnic tables to sit down to eat or rest

Bayfront Park is a little waterside gem. Perfect for leisurely strolls, family picnics, etc. A tiny beach is unfortunately closed at present. Wide, smoothly paved walkway for easy access means strollers and walkers can be used with ease. Cyclists, scooters and skateboards need to be considerate of those walking, as not everyone can manoeuvre with ease. Regular benches provide scenic rests. Large expanses of grass so little ones can run. Hutch's up by the road is a staple for their famous Fish and Chips. Sometimes food trucks are down by the parking lot, which is a nice option. DEFINITELY would benefit from public restrooms or at least a few strategically placed port-a-potties. All dogs must be leashed - not optional.

This park is beautiful and had a really good time with my family. We initially came here to have a barbecue and weren’t aware if we were allowed or not. So I asked a police officer and he said “Today is a beautiful day, go live a little”. After hearing that, we started barbecuing and no one stopped us or told us we couldn’t. This park also has lots of room to play certain things, we played badminton and frisbee and it was really enjoyable. The views of the lake were gorgeous and highly recommend to stay here for sunset. We also got caught in an intense thunderstorm which was definitely an experience

Wonderful Bayfront Park is connected to Princess Point (Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton ON). Enjoy the experience by taking a sustainable walk through picturesque trails that allow you to observe it's biodiversity of plants, and animals of course with care, and respect for them and their special diet of vegetation from these complex ecosystems and their symbiotic process as well as the animals' mating season. Share the road connection with enthusiastic park lovers in between the different parks ridding a sustainable bicycle that I enjoy the most!

This is an absolute gem of a place and a must go in summers. The waterfront view is stunning, the atmosphere serene and peaceful. The well-maintained trails are perfect for a leisurely stroll or a bike ride. It is a great place for families to have a small picnic and spend the afternoon sitting/playing on the grass. Trees provide enough shade. The ice cream and poutine trucks at the entrance is a major bonus. Parking is adequate. There is also a little cherry blossom ramp at the back, which is perfect for those instagram shots. Highly recommended!

  • Minerva Sanchez

There's ample parking and a lovely tail along the waterfront. There are several picnic tables available as well as green spaces for enjoying the location. The trail is paved which makes it user friendly for anyone with a mobility device. The train yard is at the end of the trail and you just might see a train engine switching tracks. Although there are public washrooms on site I didn't use them based on comments from others who were leaving them.
Picnic area
There are a number of picnic tables available throughout the location.

  • Heather

The paths along the water are a very generous size! It was a great spot to go with the family for a walk. There's plenty of parking. There are bathrooms (they reminded me of bathrooms at the beach.. not really taken care of/kept up it seemed, spiders etc.. but when you need a toilet, they've got one for you!). It was nice to sit under the pavilion for our picnic lunch, and there were lots of picnic tables to sit at. There are so many areas to explore.. we were there for a couple hours and only walked a fraction of the whole park.

  • Becca Cainey

I went to play Pokémon Go with a friend. There were a ton of Poké stops and a great path to follow as we went along. There was a festival going when we were there that I think enhanced the experience as we were able to go in and peruse. It was slightly crowded but again there was a festival so that can be expected. We did see a lot of geese and got to watch a geese crossing. Along the path there were a lot of benches and picnic tables to take a break at. Overall a good place to play Pokémon or just go for a nice walk.

  • Meaghan Edwards

A great walking destination, even in winter as the paved trails are maintained, you have unobstructed views of the bay and lots of wildlife to take in; you can spot an assortment of birds here, from American Coots to swans. Once had trouble with loose dogs here, but seems Animal Control thankfully patrols this area more often. My favorite time of the year to go is winter time where you can get some really interesting shots of the ice. Bring your camera -- you never know what you might see!

  • Rubaid Khan

This is a nice bayfront with good stretches of grassy areas for picnics, watching the sunset and enjoying open air performances. We were able to enjoy a 'dances at dusk' performance in July which was nice. There are also great trails for walking, running and biking. Parking gets full on weekends and Friday evenings. There are also cherry blossoms trees. In winter, there is a skating rink, which becomes a roller skate rink in summer. So there is something to enjoy here all year round.

  • Yash Nayak

This place is a literal Vibe. This is a park where you get to experience so many things. If you like to jog there is a nice track. If you want to have a barbecue you can set it up near the lake as well. The garden is also well maintained to have a sit down with friends and enjoy the sunset. We went there with our kitten and she was very excited to see all the people and the sunset for the first time. Definitely worth the visit

  • Adam Sorenson

This is a beautiful place for walks with your family and friends or if you want to have a moment of pondering you can go on your own. The scenery is amazing with all the animals and trees They also have great fishing there but from the locals I heard that deu to the pollution in the water that it is not the best idea to eat the fish. They also have a boat ramp, a dock and a nice beach. The beach is opened in the summer time.

  • Safyre Ciere

Such a great place to enjoy the water and the trails. Love going there for walks or a cruise on the electric scooters.
Restrooms
The bathrooms are only available between April and November. Not open during the winter.
Dog-friendliness
As long as your dog is on a leash, they're welcome too!
Picnic area
There are many little areas around with benches. The grass is okay, just look out for the goose poop.

  • bimal chawla

What a view on a sunny day. As spring is coming we went to this park and enjoyed a lot. View was so mesmerizing. Along with trail lake is there which makes it perfect. A good place for friends get together and kid’s play. Ample space for kids to enjoy food and can have fun activities. Carry your own food to spend some time. A good place for jogging as well. I didn’t see toilets near by but yes car parking is available.

  • Rey J

This is a beautiful park! There is a nice long walking trail around the water in a loop which is very pleasant and a good length. Along the railroad, there is another trail that extends along the water. The middle of the park is a lot bigger than it looks and a lot of space to spread out and have your own area to hang out in. Ample parking on weekdays, tough on the weekends to get a spot if you're driving.

  • Cindy Khojajian

We love taking our dog there for walks. Recently we went to the night market there..so amazing we went twice . A family fun place. Lots to do.
Playground
I didn't see playgrounds where I went
Restrooms
There is restroom close by if nature calls
Dog-friendliness
Trauls to walk and take your dog
Picnic area
There is picnic table you can sit and enjoy resting or eating.

  • Stephanie V

Love passing the day with a good book and comfy lawn chair down by the shore. Only complaint is lack of bathroom facilities and the one I walked into at pier 4 was being occupied by transient people, one on the ground in a sleeping bag, and the place smelled awful. Such a shame that this gem of a park has these, albeit uncommon, dwellers. There are decent cafés and pubs within walking distance.

  • Khadija Rubani

I loved the fire work's on Canada day there is a long trail to walk in i went here 60 times last year and I enjoyed it every single time. The events makes the experience even better i love the pirate ship one and if your not willing for that have peace of mind sitting by the water looking at all the cute ducks so cute. I really recommend this place to anyone 5 stars keep it up Ontario

  • Bren Parrott

Great place (free)to launch a boat! If you don’t mind crowds on the weekend! You can grab a picnic table, have a bbq and enjoy yourselves for the entire day! There is even a little train kids can ride! Please know, if you are not a boater and you park in those spots reserved for car and trailer… you will get ticketed! We always enjoy ourselves when there….. great spot of everyone!

  • shreekanth m

Great place for a picnic, walking and time spending. Very pleasant area. We been here for a picnic and had a wonderful family time. Small water beach is closed. Boat launch area will be full and it will be beautiful view for eyes. Great place and we are visiting again and again as we live in Hamilton. Cherry blossom trees are very beautiful when they are peak bloom.

  • Antenah Germaw

Bayfront Park Hamilton is a great place to enjoy nature and outdoor activities. It has something for everyone, whether you like walking, cycling boating, or skating. You can explore the park and the Waterfront Trail and see the lake and the harbour. The park is also a great place to relax and have a picnic especially during summer. I highly recommend it

  • Magued Hanna

A huge park that is really a place that I call heaven, lots of seating places, nice and long walking trails, a middle greenery area of the park is in the middle of the lake. The place is great for family gathering, groups gathering, walking, jogging, running, yoga, couples and singles that are seeking to enjoy nature and quality time

  • Colin Hazell

Bayfront Park is a wonderful park. It was a Millenium project for Hamilton and it was a great decision. This is a wonderful spot with lots of parking. Great walking trails (mostly smooth and flat) The scenery is amazing. This project helped heal the damage done by industrial pollution. The amount and diversity of wildlife is amazing

  • Andrea Boyko

Love this park. There’s so much to see on the waterfront. The tourist trolly passed by us. This is a good option for someone unable to walk the kilometres of paths. I don’t think that e bikes should be permitted on the paths. There’s lots of picnic tables and plenty of room for everyone to distance themselves from each other.

  • Joy Yu

Beautiful park. Short loop around for walking, biking, or running. It is quite small though. The waterfront is gorgeous. At the next pier there is a playground (short walk away). In the middle of the park there is a huge grassy area for a picnic or to run around and play sports. Lots of ducks and geese for kids to look at!

  • John L

Bayfront Park hosts the "Cop N Rodders" car show each August to support the Torch Run, funding Ontario Special Olympics. Well organized, multi-brand, car show that I heard neared 1,000 custom, classic, modified, and muscle cars this year. Vendors and other attractions make this a fun day for car enthusiasts and families.

  • Hanan Younes

If you’re looking for a park that offers everything! Look no more . It is huge park with lots of picnic tables, a small beach, nearby playground, washrooms, ice cream truck, and more. Perfect for photo sessions. I would recommend visiting this and the adjacent park (Pier 4 Park), which is only a walking distance. …

  • Sharth Kumar

Bayfront Park in Hamilton is an absolute gem. The stunning waterfront views create a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The well-maintained trails are perfect for a leisurely stroll or a bike ride. With its picnic areas and playgrounds, it's an ideal spot for families to enjoy quality time together. Highly recommended!

  • Pulkit Sood

Was here for the Canada Day celebrations. Had a great time. Wasn't able to get the full park experience as parts were off limits due to the fireworks display. But it looks like a popular spot for the locals as I visited a few days prior and was not able to find a parking spot in the parking close to the park.

  • Zora Tan

Bayfront park looks different if you enter from York St. We walked from the hospital to York, walk to the big bridge you will see a set of stairs which leads to Bayfront Park along the lake. The bird sanctuary has a variety species it’s amazing. We did an 8 mile walk all they way around the park to pier 8.

  • L Reashore

Love love this place. Wonderful for walking the dog, an evening stroll, watching dragon boat races or catching an impromptu music fest. Other than all the geese poop, which is nearly impossible to control, we really enjoy this place. We visit 1 to 2x per week. Loads of parking and a public bathroom.

  • Ahmed E

One of my favourite spots in Hamilton, Perfect for a walk and enjoying the view of the lake. There are also benches where you can read or get a picnic meal. Bikes would be perfect too in this park. The frozen lake was lovely with the geese and the swans. We enjoyed the sun in these chilly days.

  • Kausthab Dutta Phukan

A serene Sunday evening walk and our first visit to this park. Loved the ambience. However would urge the picnic goers to dump their waste sensibly. It is our responsibility to keep the parks clean and hygienic for the kids. Such a lovely place with such great views. Please keep it that way.

  • Lara de Beer

Great place to bring the family for a picnic or the dogs for a walk. Unfortunately in recent years the eutrophication has gotten bad in the harbour which causes some smell by the waters edge on sunny hot days. The city is working hard to clean it up so still worth going to for a visit

  • Nilam Savani

A beautiful and well maintained park where you can spend quality time with your friends and family members. Public washrooms were really clean in this COVID-19 situation. You can also enjoy kayaking here with your own boat. It has a long trail where you can ride a bike and enjoy.

  • Sarah McArthur

Lovely park during all seasons. Have enjoyed running and walking on the trail. Very clean with lots of open space so many can enjoy even on the busiest days. Easy parking access and open public bathrooms. Nice place to walk off the treat from Hutch's if you also stop for a cone.

  • Chris Guerin

Great park for walking, jogging, picnicking, biking, roller blading, long boarding, looking out on the water or launching your kayak, canoe or boat! Links up to Princess Point if you follow the paved trail within an hour depending on your pace. Love this place! Lots of green!!

Really nice park to walk through. Lots of space, lots of grass, some boating going on, there was a food truck, parking can be tough but you just gotta wait for a spot. Dogs, geese, swans, even saw someone with a cat on a walk. Lots of waterfront views.

  • Sophie V

Cute park. It’s pretty small but the views are nice, plenty benches/picnic tables/rocks to sit for a while or picnic. They have food trucks sometimes too. Since such a big portion of the park is facing west, it’s a great place to catch the sunset.

  • Derek C

It's actually a very nice spot but all of the homeless tent encampments are spoiling the scenery. I wish that the city would find a better spot for all of these people that is safe and with winter approaching would give them some protection.

  • Kyle L

Really nice area to go on a stroll, there's a rowing club and a couple food trucks that are located in the parking lot, it's well kept as I didn't see any litter, plenty of wildlife and there's a little tram that you can take a ride on.

  • Rohith Menon

Nice trail for weekend get together. Or may be for morning walks for exercise freaks. No resturants or coffee joints near by. I think might have concsiously made that way to avoid damage to the environment and keep it clean.
