"Really unhappy about the state of the fish tank"
"Doorman was drunk"
"Brick house was a divey and chill bar to come to on a late Weds night"
"This place has been one of my favorite bars for YEARS! If you're looking for a cozy friendly bar with couches and a lot of cool stuff on the walls the this is the place for you"
"I'm 44 and this is the best bar, by far, I've ever been to"
Really unhappy about the state of the fish tank. I spoke with an employee yesterday about how there’s is not enough water in the fish tank for the fish that reside in there. The fish all hang out in the corner because they have no where to go. I was told by the employee that the fish tank has been like this for years. Very concerning.
Doorman was drunk. ID'd my partner's mom in her 60's. Didn't give her a tag for her bag and then proceeded to get mad at her for asking him for a tag. Was extremely rude to my whole group of friends. Wouldn't recommend the service and initial experience to anyone. Our whole group left because we were uncomfortable. Boo. More
Brick house was a divey and chill bar to come to on a late Weds night. Leo is such a fun and generous bartender who went out of his way to accommodate for us after coming in late. The bar was accompanied by regulars that made us feel welcome. Wish we could’ve stayed longer, but plan to come back soon! More
This place has been one of my favorite bars for YEARS! If you're looking for a cozy friendly bar with couches and a lot of cool stuff on the walls the this is the place for you. Leo is definitely a character and we love him. This bar also has a pool table and darts.
I'm 44 and this is the best bar, by far, I've ever been to. Leo is a truly unique, well read, well traveled person and I had a blast. Left with a Pabst beanie hat, a Jameson flask and racket set, too much alcohol in my system and a HUGE smile. More
Feels like partying in the basement of That 70s show. There's comfy couches and every surface is covered with little bits of art and character. You can play pool or darts or just relax on a couch and make friends. Bring cash or start a tab.
Really cool place, not many around like this anymore. The atmosphere is really nice and attracts a good crowd. It can get very busy which would be fine however the bar is unable to handle/serve the amount of people. The bartender I think is
Its like my parents basement....30 years ago though. Bring cash! This is the nest kind of dive bar around. Comfy (if slightly sketchy) seating, lots of beer and yes, it's often a packed house. Pool tables and bar service makes this a very,
I come here every Tuesday night! Tuesday is drawing night so it’s a fun activity to do if you have the time. The staff are extremely nice and serve you in a timely manner. The prices for drinks are good. I’ll be coming back here often! More
If you're into ironic dive bars, this is the place for you. It's full of character, I'll give it that. The clientele all fit a consistent ironic flannel wearing hipster vibe. But you'll wait forever because there is only one guy taking
Really like the vibe, decor, and people that populate this place, also like that you can just walk in. Just one bar tender, think a moderate version of Seinfeld’s the Soup Nazi, he completely runs the show and sometimes tells you what
In all of my meanderings across the globe I have never found a worse managed bar. I tried to love it. I tried to play by the barman's rules, but last night was the final straw. Intending to buy several pitchers of beer for me and my
They literally watch their fish dying in the tank. They have no water in the tank. Once we brought it up the owner of the bar he tried to fight us physically. We left. It was absolutely disgusting. Please don’t visit this place. More
I was very warmly welcomed and looked after by Leo, even in my somewhat tired state (I had been walking around East Van all day). Thoroughly enjoyable, good selection of drinks too. I love this place, wish I’d live closer.
It is an old dive bar which needs to be cleaned, have everything replaced and updated. It lacks a working front door, and a health inspection or five not only for the bar but the couches that belong in quarantine. More
The girl who picked up was obviously wasted on the job, clearly doesn’t know what customer service is, and should really lose her job - I’m 20 and saying this. Do bette because she’s dragging you’re bar :)
If you have found it, you have arrived. Leo will take care of you. Strict no standing on the furniture policy. The last bar in Vancouver selling glass bottles and seaweed. The last real bar in Vancouver.
Really cool, vintage atmosphere. I've only been once, but I'd probably go back. However, if you're going there to hang out and talk to people, keep in mind the really loud music can make that difficult.
Change your expectations, blow your mind My friend and I were looking for a bar where it has character, a pool table, darts and an opportunity to have a conversation (without competing with blaring
Honestly my favourite bar in this entire city. Leo is the best! What other bartender will go around and give you chips and cookies just because he feels like it? He is also definitely not racist :)
Cheap drinks and laid back place. Kind of have that "someone's basement" sort of feel going on. Grungy but relatively clean. Not my cup of tea but reflective of original neighborhood's character.
Great layout. And they have pool and darts which is great. So it's a real shame it's run by an incompetent owner. He's the only one who serves drinks. And he only accepts cash unless you leave
Just go and see it for yourself, one of the oldest standing bars in Vancouver. Just don't pay attention to the goldfish. Also the back entrance is legit, just means it quiet, knock and wait.
This place is the titts. Don't come ever, so I can a get a drink faster . Definitely worth a visit. Check out the silver dollars and all the memorabilia. Leo himself is memorabilia …
Before the Era of Internet, this place would hardly be visited by a foreign foot, but today, thankfully, that is still the case. Let’s keep it that way by leaving terrible reviews!
Amazing little bar, great atmosphere, very relaxed. You can pay by cash or open a tab with a card which was very easy as well, there are pool tables and couches as well. More
Leo is by far the best, coolest, and funniest bartender I've ever had. Great bar with a fun, dynamic atmosphere with a chill vibe, pool and darts, and good times.
Lively and cozy. I love small bars like this. You can lounge on the couch or stand about. It's hip and local. Beer is cheap. Please support these establishments!
It was my first time visiting such an authentic place in heart of vancouver. the atmosphere is very cozy and chill. looks like ther are many regular people
Great little bar. Leo is a awesome owner/batender who keeps the line flowing at a great rate. Never actually waited for a drink. Cheap pool and free darts!
Disaster of a place. One rude barman who is slow and doesn't care. Drinks sometimes taste of cleaning detergent. Went here 3 or 4 times but not again
Excellent run down pub with old rustic vibe. Old couches, pool tables, nice washrooms, but only one bar man: long wait for drinks during busy hours.
It's a really cool place decor wise. But a 15 min+ wait for a drink is way too long on a saturday. Im at bar to drink, not to observe the decor.
If you are looking for an expereince - this is the Best 'real bar' in Vancouver! Leo is one man army and an absolute gem! Will be coming back!
A very friendly and entertaining staff. The cozy, friendly atmosphere makes it easy to meet other patrons, and the eclectic decor is great!
You wanna have the best time ever?? From a Vanciryvgirl born and raised, this is your place. Come and play if you can handle it
If you want an awesome dive bar in Vancouver… this is the place. Leo and the supporting staff are INCREDIBLE. Will be back!
Among the GOAT. You cannot put words on enjoying the ultimate dive beer experience. Leo, the owner, rocks. Period. More
One time, bartender take off our dish even we didnt finish it. But cheap price and cozy atmosphere. Still love here.
Interesting place for sure. The line for beer and paying can be long at times. Overall, great place to hang out.
Relaxed bar with good service. Nice place to chill with friends. Drinks were a good price too. Eclectic decor.
The owner is literally insane which is cool. He's a maniac. And absolute power tripping diva. I like that.
Small, funky little bar on downtown Main Street. Great before/after dinner spot.

Funky bar with great ambiance, but at peak hours the lineup to get a drink is too long to be worthwhile.
Leo is a legend, this spot is a step back in time!! Old school charm and retro feel! Brilliant spot!
Great spot. Proper pub with high level banter being generated by Leo, the owner and barman.
Leo is fantastic and makes great cocktails!
