I was met with an awful maze of automated options designed to deflect the caller. When I finally spoke to someone, a character called Diego, he was abrupt, rude and refused to help, just reading scripted stock answers whilst talking over me as I tried to explain my situation. I call him a character, because he was. I very much doubt his name is Diego, he had a strong South Asian accent, and would not give me his surname or id number. He claimed to be in Canada - why would I be directed there when I called Houston about a Texas specific issue? The likelihood is he's not there either, and that the British Consulate have out sourced their emergency line to a third party commercial call centre where the workers are instructed to read a series of scripted answers designed to get people off the phone, rather than even attempt to resolve important issues. Disgraceful.
Called to find out about my ailing mother who is inhospital. Need to get back FAST...want to see mother before SHE PASSES,....No prompts addressed my concern. DO I HAVE TO BE IN QUARANTINE. for 5 days if I go on the 17th of may. Do I have to pay a FINE.?..Spoke to a global service through phone prompt. ABSOLUTELY USELESS...she knew nothing and said her department had no info either.....WOW...
I delivered my passport to the company named VFS GLOBAL in Houston on 07/27. And my passport was lost.. This company does nothing but tell me the responsible fact of UPS..! Should I not trust them? Do you not impose sanctions on these companies? they can easily tell me that only UPS company is responsible.. Please help me
Very very unresponsive to phone calls. I spent the better part of 30 mins trying to speak to someone about an issue & couldn't. Their website states they are open from 8:45 am but no one was available. Do they work at all or are they just here on vacation, spending her majesty's pounds?
If I could give it a MINUS star I would. Absolutely the worst system ever. Obviously they have NO INTENTION of dealing with anything !! Perhaps the are ALL having Tea. This phone number is nothing but a Computer system with no contact info or help AT ALL
Can't talk to a real person (machine loop) or figure out what to do on their website (too confusing). Just wanted to get a Visa to travel to England and Scotland for my Colombian wife. Guess we will just cancel.
Amazingly stressful family situation, beautifully handled by Caroline at the Houston Consulate. Can’t say enough good things about how smooth this was (and in comparison to other countries’ similar processes!)
Remember Alfie Evans. Remember Charlie Gard. Say their names. The UK is a disgrace! Now they do it again to Indi Gregory.
Can a foreigner government scam you? I've never heard of any consulate or embassy charging to answer questions. Wow.
No help whatsoever. Just simple questions but could not answer anything. Think we’ll have to rethink our trip.
