UPDATE: changed from 4 stars to 2 I used to frequent this store a few times a week. The staff was really nice. Like everywhere else, the prices unfortunately increased. But they have fresh fruits, vegetables and meats. And they have good deals occasionally. However, one of their self check out attendants is incredibly rude. She accused me of not paying for the bags. I was so taken aback and embarrassed because I am an honest person and would never think to cheat anything . And I thought, I must have forgotten to input the quantity of bags I was purchasing. Upon further inspection, I did indeed put the correct quantity of bags! Just the way she FALSELY accused me is embarrassing and gross. It's the principle of things and how you treat your customers. I know that behaviour isn't a part of co-op values.
I went there today for baked potato fixings and wound up paying nearly double what the shelf price was for green onions. Cashier thought it might be because I was not a member. If this is Co-ops notion for drumming up membership,it didn't work because I will never go there again, or any other co-op either. Better rethink that one before more locations close as village Square did, and your dwindling membership will have to travel further to pay higher prices because you no longer have the market share to keep locations open or purchase in quanties to keep prices down. Good luck, you'll need it.
I've had good experiences at this Co-op location. As a wheelchair user, I often need to ask for assistance to get items down from shelves or to take my purchases to the front because I can only carry so much. They also provide carry-out upon request. Staff are friendly and most are very willing to help - some have definitely gone the extra mile! While prices are higher than, say, Superstore and No Frills, the extra assistance makes the increased price worth it. The dollar days also have some good offers. Typically, the fresh produce is in good condition.
We miss our Pineridge co-op! This location has the strangest layout, it's difficult to locate items as they are in bizarre places. The pharmacy is slowwww and not very bright. I've gone to pickup my prescription 2x now and both times it wasn't filled even though I had called hours prior to fill it. Staff are ok - I had a nasty interaction with the assistant manager who was on a power trip, but the manager resolved it shortly after.
This is my local community co-op and it's always had a pretty decent variety of products. From your staples to specialty items. They bring in new things that might be in trend often. It's not gonna have lots of brands of one product like a Walmart would but for something that's nearby, fair prices, and produce & meats from local farmers, definitely would recommend!
Hardly ever busy. Their produce and meat is better than most places. I go for the meats that are discounted. Just before Christmas they had t-bone and prime rib steaks on for good prices. We mainly shop here when we need our water bottles refilled. Staff are friendly and helpful. As prices rise on food everywhere, Co-op is becoming more affordable.
I was preparing to make my Auntie Joan's famous UK Borscht, but all the ingredients is sometimes hard find in one store. Today I hit the Co-op in Monterey and surprisingly they had all of the ingredients especially the beets with the leafy greens still attached to the beets!!! So excited!!!! …
Well I went there today and found them rude and dismissive after I asked to buy extra compostable bags. I have bought extra of their bags as long as they have been available. I thought it was an excellent idea but their new attitude doesn't make the extra trip worth it anymore. Very disappointing.
Very limited choice of fresh cuts of meat , no ground pork or chicken and 450 gms of ground turkey is $13.60 at this store I bought the same brand( Lilydale) same weight for $5 at Freshco...No wonder they keep closing out the stores but the top management is making big moolah so who cares right?
I was getting ready to prepare my Auntie Joan's well-known UK borscht, but sometimes it's difficult to find all the components in one supermarket. Surprisingly, I found all the items at the Monterey Co-op today, notably the beets with the lush leaves still attached! I'm so excited!!!
I was just there yesterday and I saw an older female employee outside in the small garden centre smoking and coughing - that is disgusting! Staff should not be smoking in such a visible area. I don't want to smell it when I'm walking around. That is very unprofessional!
Hostile environment for autistic people. The cooling units electronically scream & lighting causes migraines. Which sucks because I LOVE Cal&Gary brand... but trying to shop in the store causes meltdowns. Also, beware, there are gluten foods in the gluten free freezer.
Usually my go to place for groceries, overall clean, friendly, and helpful. The only issue is there is some inconsistencies with products, sometimes they have something, the next week they might not. Hopefully this will correct over time.
I find items close to the expiry date if not careful because they are only price competitive if they are on sale. I would be willing to pay more if I could be assured that everything is fresh. I have been disappointed more than once and
Wow for one I couldn't find any midol in stalk. No big deal things arnt in stock; it sucks but it is what is it is. Having a rough day as a woman. I just used the washroom at coop cuz its convinient for shopping and the snot behind the
It's been quite a while since I've been to Co-op. The stores close to me have all closed, and with the offers with their new app, I thought I would give it a try. Very disappointing. The store needs updating, the prices are worse than
Worse grocery store set-up. I do not understand the logic that was used to make this co-op. They should have kept the village square one and closed this one instead. Will definitely be going further then needed to go grocery shopping.
Prices are super high here. Go to safeway or superstore - trust me. Even worse, staff are inattentive. After shopping for 30 mins, I had to get a washroom key from staff to use the restroom. I put my cart in front of the self till I
For the pharmacy having Chinese lady working there that is miserable in life very rude and disrespectful to customers white gentleman working tonight was a very polite man and have nothing bad to say about him
Been coming here for many years but today I have to draw the line. Bought 2 lemons and 5 apples and it cost me 10 bucks. Same items at Walmart for 6.50. Not sure who can afford to even shop here. Ridiculous.
Got my membership at front desk and she was very helpful. Pharmacy department had no one there. Then I had to take my bill to the front to pay, come back and get meds after locating clerk in pharmacy again.
A good place to shop. Selection and freshness is there, and they are the only ones near me that carry Shefs Butter Chicken Sauce, which I doctor just a slight bit to make awesome curries. Good old Coop.
The staff is always willing to help and are very friendly. I like coming here for the baked goods in addition to my regular grocery shopping. There is also lots of parking which is nice.
Way over priced for a "local" grocery store maybe there just unaware we're not in Beverly Hills. The entire staff is miserable every time I've had the misfortune of going in there.
Decent store, good produce. Except one thing. They like to follow you around and watch you. Must have a big sign on my back saying I'm there to steal from you.
Love this store, Shelly the manager is absolutely a sweet heart. The staff are all very nice and its usually very easy to get in and out of the store quick.
Halal Rotisserie chicken! Love to make different things from rotisserie chicken like souls, sandwiches and salad. Really nice bakery items
As much as I like co-op I find it too expensive More so then other groups but then again going for simple groceries still expensive
Well stocked, clean, and great variety. Produce, meat, and bakery are all excellent quality. Staff are well trained and friendly.
One of our main shopping spots, lots of options and even when busy it doesn't feel cluttered or chaotic.
Beautiful store , fantastic bakery, produce and meat departments. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Prices seem higher, but clean, wide isles, staff are great to deal with. In and out real quick!
Great staff just very high on pricing and very organized place easy to find what you need
Nice little coop store. Good selection, clean and staff are friendly and helpful.
Friendly staff very helpful and meat department staff very, very knowledgeable.
When they have sales prices are good otherwise I think prices a little high
