A group of friends and I went here to see a live show (which we enjoyed very much), however there is a staff member who pompously and arrogantly refereed to himself as "a promoter" who just about ruined our night. We has been lucky enough to get a few of the last chairs off to the side of the venue, and after sitting and waiting for the show to start this arrogant, rude door-man comes over and says he's taking our chairs because there are people who paid more for their tickets than us or something and they have a higher right to the seats than us. Heres an idea, plan ahead and put out enough chairs so everyone can sit like they paid to, or have a separate "VIP" seating area. When we complained that he was being rude and shouldn't be taking our chairs he immediately told us he would throw us out of the show. Luckily the show was excellent, because that guy shouldn't work anywhere related to customer service. Would not go back.
If your views don’t line up with staff and management. Be prepared for segregation and discrimination. Only serve friends after a certain time and will say you’ve had too much as an excuse. Staff will also post to their personal social media accounts spreading rumours about individuals who come there, if you don’t line up with THEIR views. They love to damage reputation and take zero responsibility for it when reaching out to management. Wouldn’t recommend the “gatekeepers” of the local scene. What a joke.
We went me the dancing outside me and my little dog Rashnu but the man who bartender told Rashnu to get away and not block the fencing area in a very rude tone. So I went inside to talk to the manager and noticed all the fruiting had the flies around it and it was very hard to breathe in there with all the arrogance of the one bartender telling Rashnu he wasn’t allowed to dance outside. I can’t be back and for this my dog Rashnu is making me take the long way now on our walks near this establishment.
Left before the headliner, Said the Whale. Could see almost nothing of the stage or performers, just foreheads and people’s backs. It was like a concert in someone’s cramped basement! Very disappointing trip to Hamilton. If you operate a venue with General Admission, you need a raised stage! It’s just common sense! The Mod Club, Revival, The Carlu, even Kee to Bala have a RAISED STAGE! Never returning to this venue!
Went to Casbah to see a friend's band. Purchased a double vodka that clearly did not have 2 ounces in it. The staff was uncompromising and would not rectify the problem. Would not recommend this venue. They also are still checking for vaccination passports and would not refund a ticket for a guest that did not have a passport. They fail in hospitality.
Best live venue in Hamilton that really serves the community. Supports great local artists as well those from afar that can serve a variety of tastes. Wicked vibe. Great owner. There may be a few butt hurt dips**ts that may be getting there marching orders from Truth Social or whatever but for those who've been going there for years, it's awesome.
This is a place that I’ve spent a lot of time in. There were many memories and not enough documentation. Glass Candy, The Pixies, Jay Reatard, Constantines...sheeeeeeeit, really too many to list. Greg Ashley played one of my all time favourite sets here. I spent many hours playing records and showing movies here. Miss this vibe for sure.
I have nothing but the utmost respect for the Casbah and their staff - have always had wonderful shows, and have always felt safe. They’ve even started doing extra amazing things during the pandemic, like making their stage available for rehearsal space for local bands, which is brilliant and generous. Keep it up, Casbah!
I've always loved the Casbah for so many reasons as the events there are so diverse, but the staff especially make this one of my favourite venues for events in Hamilton, hands down! Now that they're offering take out, it just got even radder. Always a great time, always a great vibe, whatever you're into!
The venue is actually nice but there's this one tall blonde bartender who was extremely rude to me and my friends and most of the other people at the bar. I have no idea why any place would have someone that openly hostile, rude and standoffish to customers working there.
This venue is one of my favorite places in Hamilton. I’ve played dozens of shows and seen dozens more. Brodie is absolutely awesome and has been a major source of support for the Hamilton music scene going back to the days of the Undergound. Awesome venue, awesome guy.
A really nice little concert venue! Lots of space, cozy atmosphere with fun murals on the walls, reasonably priced drinks! The washrooms are tiny, but this is a really fun place. Tip: there are coat hooks under the bar in case you want to store a jacket.
lacks character and soul. the bar staff have never given me change and are just as characterless as the decor. the place lacks imagination, presentation and warmth. i hate this place. a really terrible choice for the lgbtq+ events. a dude bar.
With everything that happened over the last few years, the Casbah hung in there and all Hamilton should be thankful. A music venue that encourages different genres. Ownership that works hard to promote and encourage local musicians.
The owner sure loves visiting other bars that don’t enforce the vaxx mandate. Exploring the dance floors and bars without a mask. Hugging and kissing multiple friends while still discriminating at his own establishment. Cuckbah
One of my favourite places to hear live music, meet up with friends and the owner is such a great promoter of the the Hamilton music scene inside and beyond his four walls. We are so lucky to have a place like the Casbah!
Love it but why the cash bar??? So annoying these days like they have an atm but it’s such a cash grab lol just get a credit machine i don’t get it. But fire music and lots of great artists so I will be back always
The Casbah is a Hamilton institution. I’ve seen some of the best shows of my life here and will never forget the time I’ve spent here with loved ones listening to incredible live music. Brodie, you’re a gem!
A good venue for local music or touring band's. I like that the draft beer is always changing. A really good venue if you enjoy craft beer. I always seem to find something I really like on tap.
Way cool venue with great staff. Heard a ton of awesome music over the last 15 years. Thankfully it is still around. Photo from 2012 Valentines Day. Katie Bulley of the Barettas
Great space for concerts - from local to nation or internationally touring artists. Good prices for food & drink. Staff are super friendly & respectful. Highly recommend!
Some of the best shows of my life have I seen here! Outstanding commitment to bringing Hamilton the world’s best acts as well as giving local talent a place to shine!
Went for a local hip hop show, atmosphere was cool even though it was an off night. Bar staff was friendly as well, prices seemed to be on par with what i expected.
They are still checking for vaxx passports. This guy deserves to go out of business. And the servers are rude. Never again. Wouldn’t recommend this dump to anyone.
I've always heard of this place and I always thought it was going to be a nice classy place. When I went on the weekend it was a real dive as far as I'm concerned
Super Club mit netter Atmosphäre immer wider live Musik mit regionalen Künstler gutes Bier und Shots hoffentlich komme ich wieder mal hier vorbei bis bald …
This place rocks, the staff are all great, especially Justine! Had a blast playing a set here, definitely come check it out for some good drinks and live music
Best Indie Rock venue in Southern Ontario but also a great place to see other interesting shows. The lounge has great DJs and cold craft beer, Love this place.
Always love the intimate concerts here. Bar is quick and friendly, but beware, the bathrooms are very small and can get crowded and busy very fast.
Great venue, has upper and lower section to the club, very cozy and intimate atmosphere... Great line up of shows cycling thru constantly as well
Fun place we live hanging here, everyone is so friendly and great staff we will be back for 80s night
Price per person
$40–50
Great place to go. Loved that the Hamilton Music and Film Festival was here and that we got to see our film played. Great staff as well
This place has always been a blast, and it's so wonderful to see it still flourishing even after Covid. I have so many great memories!
Always supporting local. Great place for newbies and experienced artists alike as well as a great place to hang out. Hamilton Proud!
The owner really cares about providing great entertainment. You’ve heard the term “Rock the Casbah” well it really does ROCK!
i've been here a few times for shows at this venue over the last couple of years and it's been a great experience every time.
A great venue, we had an awesome time when we were in town. We will definately be going back, the staff was top shelf …
Jezz I was thinking on going to this place today but after reading the latest reviews seems like this place is not good. Sad
My friend's band plays here frequently, and I enjoy going to see other performances from local groups, great place!
Fantastic venue with great acoustics. Safe space and great community feel.
Service: 5
Atmosphere: 5
Great atmosphere! Friendly staff! Very clean and top notch beer selection. I would live here if I lived closer!
Went to the Casbah lounge for a chef pop-up. Cant say what it's like other times but our experience was great!
Pretty good venue for finding local bands and serves solid beer. Reliable spot for a night's entertainment.
I'm giving the Casbah 5 stars for enforcing vaccine passports during ...you know... A worldwide pandemic.
Dancing with DJ upstairs, restaurant/lounge on main floor, outdoor patio. Event calendar on Facebook.
They are enforcing Vaccine passports. I'll never support or spend a dime here ever again. Goodbye.
Continuing to segregate and discriminate unnecessarily should be frowned upon. Disappointing.
One of the best live music spots in Hamilton. Great craft beers and a cool cozy atmosphere.
Love this place, great place to see bands, and great place to perform. Awesome staff!!!
Amazing live music and their Risky Business 80s nights are the best dance party in town
Always good shows and a great atmosphere for them. The beer selection is on-point too.
Truly a Hamilton staple ... Always a great band playing, great staff, good atmosphere!
Always a great time and awesome cozy atmosphere. So many amazing memories at Casbah!
Very quaint place to listen to live music Enjoyed this place alot and would go back
Love the Casbah! Great people! Great vibes! And lots of wonderful live music!!!
Great venue for local live music. Bar is a bit pricey but nothing rediculous.
Hand soap was notably aromatic, Pabst was over priced, lost a star for that
Great staff, great sound, great beer, great music. What more do you need!
I've been here many times over the years to watch shows. Great venue!
Casbah is awesome! I’ve never not had a good time there! …
Was there for 80's night. Cash bar only, ATM with $2.50 on site.
Amazing music venue... great bands... great staff..great fun!
Seen so many great shows here over the years. It's the best!
Often needlessly amping music across the whole neighborhood.
Excellent service, atmosphere and entertainment! J. Freelove
And when you're done.. Hess is only a five minute walk away.
I lost my phone there and they had it when I came back today
Unprofessional staff and over priced drinks. Don't bother
Truly the best little concert venue in the GTA. A gem.
Great craft beer selection. Great bands. Great place.
I don't support businesses that support segregation.
They've hosted some epic shows throughout the years.
Nice bar, clean bathroom, awesome sound …
Great venue small but interactive environment
Good service. Didn’t let it get overcrowded.
great place for an intimate music experience
a lot of good memories of shows played here
Small spot, decent music, expensive drinks
Best live music venue in town. Bar none.
