Giving this restaurant five stars because of the unique taste and service you get here they Have a very nice meals at Chinatown. Staff were very welcoming on arrival. Already had a table for four reserved quick service to ask for the entrees. They also serve alcohol here which was a bonus. Got the black bean and beef with noodle that was 10 out of 10 one got the Sweet and sour pork one, got the Mongolian beef and the other got combination, fried rice. And the taste is like no other Chinese I’ve tasted in the area. This Chinese place is very excellent. You always get what you ordered and also the lunch specials are cheap and for feeling give him a try normally and get a park out the front, but well worth your time, stopping in and getting a feed from Chinatown Moonah One of my favourites in all of Hobart will be back with a heartbeat. Located in a very essential spot in Moonah. We love Chinatown and will be back soon.

Beef Black Bean Noodles Stir Fry, Special Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Pork

Hadn't had any takeaway Chinese food for a long time so decided to try this place. Was met with a friendly staff member when I gave my order. I went for the good ol' faithful special fried rice and some black bean beef. The total came to $33 which seemed a bit more but just assumed that since it had been awhile thst prices had obviously gone up. It turned out to be excellent value and delicious. The picture of the plate of food I added was roughly half of the rice and 65% of the beef black been. The rest I was able to turn into lunch the next day at work. So in reality I got two meals for $15 each....so really good value indeed. I spotted that they have a buffet deal for $35 which I think I'm definitely going to have to try as I'm sure the amount of food you'll get will be heaps.

I have been to most good Chinese restaurants in Hobart, Mee Wah, Mulan, Awu, Bund in Shanghai, the new one at the Casino and this restaurant is one I also consider worth going to. Not many restaurants have the necessary roasters you need to make authentic Chinese roast meats but Evelyn and her husband Kan (sorry if I got your names wrong it was a while ago we asked) are very friendly and genuine and I hope you support their business. The food caters for the Australian taste but they also include some more adventurous flavours. Prices are reasonable and I think you can BYO your wine. It's not atmospheric but sometimes it's about creating your own bonhomie and not expecting others to do it for you.

Fabulous customer service and delicious food! We turned up after closing on New Years Eve and the staff politely advised that they were already closed. The staff must have seen us find that the grocery store was also closed. They knocked on our car window as we got in and advised that they were happy to make us some takeout as it was new years as they didn't want us to go hungry. After ordering we noticed that they had already cleaned up which anyone who has worked in hospitality will understand makes this experience all the more lovely. We had ordered some noodles which were absolutely delicious and quite spicy just as requested!

Been here many times and we always feel full and satisfied after every meal, friendly service, great food and good value meals! Always a pleasure dining here! Sometimes though, it can be busy and the order takes more than 30-45 minutes but still worth it. Maybe it is a good idea to call ahead and order, if you want to dine in especially on a weekend for lunch or dinner. But Evelyn, the wife of the chef and owner is always bubbly and gives us free pot of Chinese tea when she's there! Thanks dear!

I have to say, I am so glad we stumbled upon this Chinese restaurant on our last night of our vacation. As out-of-towners, we didn't know where to go, and we were very lucky with this place. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We felt right at home! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Chinese meal. It was the perfect way to cap off our trip, and we'll definitely be back if we're ever in the area again.

This little take away food bar leaves a lot to be desired. If you're after authentic Chinese meals please try somewhere else and avoid the disappointment. Even the fried rice was awful, we kept finding bone fragments throughout it and we couldn't work out how they would have gotten in it :( The roast duck was nearly all bone, obviously it was a very skinny duck in the beginning. The store feels like a small milk bar rather than a Chinese restaurant. We won't go back again :/

I'm notoriously fussy with my food but this place is perfect the restaurant, the service and the food were amazing. I had the pork buns and honey chicken with special fried rice hubby had golden chicken wings and battered duck paired with a Chinese and a Japanese beer. Perfect lunch date thankyou so much will be back with family and friends in tow. (Don't be put off by the price more than worth it)

This is the second time I came to this restaurant. The first time was good, this time was no good at all. I opted for steamed rice to go with my satay beef instead of fried rice. The rice was gluggy and not nice at all. My son's fried rice must have been cooked from the same rice because it was as gluggy. And the sweet and sour chicken was very sour . Not a touch of sweetness at all. They need more server to manage the floor. Sadly, won't be coming back.

Completely unappealing looking food rice was stodgy soup bland prawn crackers cold for the top priced banquet very small portions except for stodgy rice and Singapore noodles I will never be eating there again. Entrees were on table for 2minutes then the rest was brought out to quickly better value at food court

Absolutely way below average food. Cheap cuts not value for money & tinned shrimps. Worst than supermarket ingredients when you are paying restaurant prices. Worst than that the bad food was in very small proportions. The rice was brown because it was burnt. Wont use Uber Eats again if they support a business that produces such low quality produce.

On our last night in Tasmania we found this lovely resteraunt (recommend by locals) I had the Buck Bow Farn. A mix of Beef, Chicken, Pork & Prawn. An absolutely delicious meal. My wife had the Sweet & Sour Pork (boring as its the only dish she ever orders) & said it was tender & juicy.

Love the food here. We had won ton soup, fried rice, crispy pork belly (which was deliciously crispy on the outside and succulent and juicy on the inside) and 1/2 a duck which was chopped into the perfect sized pieces and served with a delicious apple sauce which had enough tartness to complement the duck perfectly and to top off a delicious meal the service was fantastic.

I ordered take-away sweet and sour pork main, special fried rice and dumplings. Customer service was fantastic, and very inviting I would go back just because of the lady at the checkout; she even checked through my order when handing it to me to make sure I knew I had everything before leaving. The food portions were HUGE and the value was great! I will be coming back.

This eatery serves slightly above average Chinese food at a fair price. Service is prompt n friendly. I ordered a plate of BBQ pork fried noodles for AUD 9.80. It was satisfactory, not amazing. Oh my goodness. Beautiful, delicious, fresh food. Amazingly friendly staff who were only to eager to please. For an impromptu visit as we were walking down the street looking for somewhere to eat it was a lovely surprise. Very clean & tidy inside. Fantastic atmosphere. Will definitely return if we are are ever up this way again. Loved it.

This is hands down my favourite Chinese restaurant. My favourite cuisine is Chinese and I have tried A LOT of places over the years, and I can happily say this is by far my favourite. The food is so yummy and the servings are very generous. We usually spend roughly $100 on a family of five for dinner and have leftovers for the next day.

The worst Chinese food we ever had. We ordered the Mee Goreng, which smelled awfully weird and no taste and we throw the whole food. The Golden Fried rice I thought would have some coconut gravy as I had clearly asked what it was, but it was some dry fried rice we cooked when we were kids. No doubt this place is always empty. "ChinaTown" restaurant (off main road moonah), serves really good, clean chinese cuisine. Clean, tasty fulfilling dishes are usually fresh from MSG & are affordable from $20~$35 per person. They offer affordable lunch menus from around $12. Give em a go for a light, fulfilling chinese appetite that won't bounce & bark.

I come here every Wednesday with my family. The food is fantastic and we're certainly full after every visit. Evie is wonderful, very positive and all around lovely. I definitely recommend the lemon chicken. I'm not even given a menu anymore because I always order it and Evie knows us well. Absolutely love this place!

Most disappointing I have never had such overcooked and tasteless and spent $60 may as well thrown money away like I did food never again !! The dumplings were definitely not home made could not identify filling, the Chow Mein container only half full, fried rice was dry and clumpy and tasteless Very poor

First time my meal was too salty. Second time, ok. Third time my toilet is too full. We got food poisoning. My gf has vomit stuck between her nose and her mouth. No kisses tonight it seems. Might be time to review your hygiene and food preparation methods guys. Ohh toilets calling again, bye.

Besides the customer service I definitely would not recommend this place. Ordered a bowl of noodles and it was way too salty and the amount was not enough. Not sure why people giving this more than 3 stars... Seriously just go to any other Chinese fast food chain or restaurant

They were able to cater for a large group of 9 of us. The string beans was a favourite dish for us. And just about all the other dishes were a hit. Prices were reasonable and staff were friendly. Highly recommended. One of the highlights of our culinary experience in Hobart.

Great friendly service and the food is fresh and tastes great. We like to share our main meals and staff accommodated us with additional plates and serving spoons. I ordered a main meal, dessert and a drink, all together it was less than $30, which was a pleasant surprise.

Very friendly staff and extremely speedy service. A little too sticky (too much corn flour) in their stir fry to my taste but maybe good for some others. The taste is quite authentic despite the corn flour comment.

Have dined at Chinatown a half a dozen times now and haven't had a bad meal. The staff are so friendly and really know the menu ( which is a change) compared to other restaurants. Would highly recommend Chinatown.

Awful. Out of 4 dishes, only the half duck was ok. The vegetable fried rice had invisible veges, the pork and chicken were battered despite my request over phone for no battering. Yakking!
