Supermarket
"Smaller size store but still has most of the go to items I’ve picked up in other locations, including with a decent selection of fresh fruits & veggies"
"Approached by one Indian woman staff at self checkout counter cuz I put my groceries bought at Woolies just before on the ground and she kept side eying me and then questioned me did I pay for those"
"OCT 2022 ✅ Probably one of the most price-friendly and convenient Coles supermarket around Swanston and La Trobe Street I might have been baited by all the alluring sales and overspent a little but that’s alright"
"Smaller, express-style store that caters mainly to people from nearby office towers or those on their way to and from the train station"
"Coles @ Melbourne Central is a well located & fairly well stocked variant of the big red grocery giant"
Smaller size store but still has most of the go to items I’ve picked up in other locations, including with a decent selection of fresh fruits & veggies. Right by the train and off the main street to easily get to. However, they’ve been closing earlier the last few weeks and didn’t bother updating their hours here (they even went as far as to confirm the incorrect ones) and today, they even closed the entry gates 30 minutes before that at 8:30. Whatever time works for their staff is what they should go with of course but that just needs to be better communicated.
Approached by one Indian woman staff at self checkout counter cuz I put my groceries bought at Woolies just before on the ground and she kept side eying me and then questioned me did I pay for those. I understand her intention but could you behave kindly and politely? Stop take customers as thieves and apologise or thank them after they proved themselves instead of just walking away!!!!!! I feel really humiliated. Coles really should train them properly, I read a lot comments and find I am not alone!
OCT 2022 ✅ Probably one of the most price-friendly and convenient Coles supermarket around Swanston and La Trobe Street I might have been baited by all the alluring sales and overspent a little but that’s alright.. happy to be supporting local businesses and besides, they really help stretch my dollar and I hope yours too
Smaller, express-style store that caters mainly to people from nearby office towers or those on their way to and from the train station. Still, it carries a large range of products, has plenty of self-serve checkouts and while it can be crowded you’re usually in and out quickly. Not the place for a weekly shop but ideal to get something for lunch / dinner.
Coles @ Melbourne Central is a well located & fairly well stocked variant of the big red grocery giant. Like most places in the city, you’ll find sizes and stocks accommodate the limited floor space of the store and peoples apartments. The limited space somehow fits a proper deli & bakery, where you’ll find bagels & croissants being prepared daily.
It was quite surprising for me to see Coles (my forever favorite Australian grocery store) right in the middle of CBD Melbourne and exactly on the next level of Melbournes train. If you are to travel from here to a suburban region. Do not forget to grab a drink, with some chips and some jellies for your kids from Coles Melbourne Central
This is not your typical spacious Coles supermarket, however for those commuting to and from the centre of the city, this Coles store, being directly opposite Melbourne Central station is in the perfect location. I have visited it many times when and always manage to find what I want. The checkout staff are always friendly.
Right next to a train station, not as fully stocked as a suburban Cole's. But it has the general stuff you need, including a reasonable meat and produce section. Like the checkout set-up as it's super quick, even during peak periods. Always find the self/register check out staff to be pretty friendly as well.
A big central city Coles supermarket. The produce was ok but not the best I have come across. It was THAT busy but it was December on a Saturday. It is really a massive range for an inner city supermarket with standard Coles prices. It was pretty clean and organised for such a busy shop.
Very busy store and I got very overwhelmed, lines moved fast though and Connor on the checkout desk was friendly and made me feel a little better. If you are going to the train station, this is a pretty neat place to pick up last minute things or a snack.
I bought a bag of chips a few days ago and I had it in my bag. I took it with me to hang out with my friends and we ended up not eating it. Later I came to this Coles to get some avocados around 1400 14/6/2021. I couldn’t find any ripe ones
It was probably the time of day (abt 5pm or so) but this place was packed and chaotic. Aisles so narrow you could hardly pass someone, lots of empty shelves. Exiting was like being herded down a cattle race... Couldn't wait to get out!
The most stressful Coles I have EVER been into. Extremely narrow aisles, packed with people. Impossible to look at shelves and make a choice and line up on a ramp to get one of 27 self serve checkouts. Worst shopping experience ever!!!
A SMALL COLES STORE ADJACENT TO THE TRAIN STATION ENTRANCE Not as big as a typical Coles Supermarket and always seems to be a queue of people lining up to pay. It does tend to have more "instant" meal options designed
I visited this store yesterday and MA guards working at store who were rude and didn’t know their job. They didn’t know how to speak and approached a customer. Low quality service, disappointed
Smaller footprint and range than suburban locations, but large enough to stock most items. Checkout was fast enough though the store was quite packed. Some lunch options for office workers
Melbourne is my favourite city in all of Australia, I have clocked up many km walking through Melbourne Central window shopping and probably many more from shopping and eating.
Repeatedly never know about their own products, and too lazy to check. “Where abouts are your eggs?” Storeperson “oh I don’t think we’ve had them since COVID?”
Very busy store. It always seems to be well stocked with essentials whenever I visit. Convenient when you are on the way home from Flinders Street station .
Busy, but has all you need. Great if you need to shop before heading home from work. Having the train line in the vicinity makes it a smooth transition.
Right down the bottom near the ticket gates of the train station. Great location when you're in a hurry to get something before getting on a train.
Staff was rude, claiming that I took their stuffs. YOU SELL THE SAME STUFFS AS WOOLIES, IDIOTS. I WAS JUST THERE BEFORE I CAME OVER.
Not big as Coles Northland Shopping Mall. Good for a quick shopping but lacks many items compared to other big Coles stores.
No customer service whatsoever, they just believe everyone is stealing even when u have proof of purchase in their face!!
Everything you need when staying in cbd. Go down the esculater, it wasn't that obvious to us train station is there too
Nifty little store but a bit too small. For the catchment it serves, a bigger footprint would be better.
Not much choice of products and very expensive prices. Australia used to be cheap but not any more.
December 2022 You’ll need to go to the lower ground level of Melbourne Central for this
Has just enough variety of essential items that you generally buy on a large shop.
Machines always bugging 7 times out of 10 and small as doesn't have too much.
Didn't go in, but I'm sure it's exactly the same as every other Coles
Not bad for a quick stop to pick.up a few items. Always busy.
Just like every Coles, easy to find items and great service
Perfect store, endless variety and the checkout is huge!
Too busy still you see quick restocking from the staff.
Small selection always busy but grateful it's here
