If I could give a zero star, I would. We had a terrible experience at the TIRE CENTRE not once but twice. This was actually the first year we decided to give it a shot. A few weeks ago we took a car for tire and oil change. We booked the appointment online where it asks about the car model etc. On the appointment day and only at the end of the appointment, they told us sorry we didn't have the oil!!! No communication before that. If we knew earlier, we would've booked both appointments elsewhere. When I asked them why do you ask car model etc then, they said we're not a proper garage. They admit it themselves!! So, this was waste of time. Plus, it takes so long to find an appointment at this time of the year. The second incident happened today. I got 10 minutes late to the appointment because the garage and parking didn't have any empty spots to park my car, then there was a big lineup at the cashier with only employee helping customers. By the time it was my turn, it was 20 mins into my appointment. They refused to take my car and two employees started yelling at me and talking rudely to me saying it was my fault to be late at the appointment. This was happening in front of many other customers. There's zero customer service and respect here. Do yourself a favour, save your time and money and take your car to a proper garage!
Amazing place. I have been to other Costcos in the GTA but they don't compare. Parking is abundant and everyone is courteous offering carts when they're done unloading their stuff and respectful of parking turns and signaling (i found to be an issue in other locations). The items inside the stores are very neat and tidy and clean. Great product selection. Staff is always smiling and welcoming and offer help when needed. There are always small snacks to sample even on non-weekend days. They have self check out but their cashiers are so fast and efficient and they always have a helper who bags our items in our reusable bags. The lineups to pay and leave always seem so long but i never had to stop and wait.. the lines move do quickly and orderly and they often have all cash registers open for more efficient service. Yes it's probably because they want more people in and out of the store and to pay more money but that's the reality of all businesses at least costco doesn't humiliate and irritate their customers while taking their money lol. Their customer service is great at solving issues and returns. Though it did take us 4 tries initially to get our promised online voucher (promo when we signed up) but we did get it eventually. Overall we enjoy going to costco and spend our time there exploring their merchandise.
My wife and I visited the Kingston Costco location tonight around 4:55pm. We have not been to Costco and I have not held a membership in over 10 years. Upon entering the store, we were asked for a membership card, upon telling the lady we were new to Costco she said we could not enter the store. I asked her if we could enter the store to check prices to compare to see if a Costco membership was worth the $, she actually YELLED at my wife and I that we were not allowed entry into the store, screaming "NO you will not enter". Never in my life have I never been denied entry to a store, yet alone yelled at. When I asked her how we could review pricing she said "online" to which I replied, and she once again yelled at us and told us to go to the membership department and to get a membership. The people behind us were in shock as well. Honestly, we were just looking to save a bit of $ and see if Costco was worth it. This complete lack of humanity and customer service by the lady at the store will see us NEVER stepping foot back in a Costco. Also - how are new members supposed to validate the expense of the membership without being able to preview the store? If management cares, review who was on the door around 4:55pm, because she is NOT good for new business.
Wanted to use up the Costco $120 Voucher from “new member sign-up promo” but was told it can only be used for Costco online shopping. Thus no choice here but to buy something online & we opted for a new TV. The “estimated delivery” was May 16, 2023 but it was delivered on May 26, 2023 instead by UPS. Upon delivery, we noticed a “dent at the bottom right corner” of the box & the UPS guy noted it too. We didn’t reject the delivery, assuming “it should be OK, since the dent was at the bottom corner & not in the middle of the box”. After installing the new TV & turned it on, we discovered a “big surprise”. The screen was cracked at the bottom right corner. Overall the delivery of Costco online shopping really sucks BiG TIME; 1st failed to ship within the estimated timeline & 2nd failed to do basic quality check of goods before delivery. No more Costco online shopping for us as the overall experience was not only very frustrating but also very annoying & disappointing. It’s our 1st & also our very last Costco online shopping, period.
Went to use self checkout today with a few items in my cart, since I seen that there were a couple machines opened. A lady with very short red-ish hair proceeded to yell at me before I even got to the machine that I needed to show her my Costco membership before even scanning.. so I obliged (even after she yelled at me and told me to stop going further) I had my membership out and she wasn’t even paying attention… not sure what that was all about. So I went up to the machine and continued to scan my card and my items … I noticed another lady coming up behind me holding a bunch of items and was also stopped abruptly and told to see her membership. The worker wouldn’t even let her put her items down to grab her purse to pull her membership card out and was visibly struggling at this point.. the worker even blocked her from going to a machine to set her items down. Is this a new policy or does Costco just employ some power hungry employees? .. either way I’ve learnt my lesson and it won’t be to use the self checkouts anymore.
Costco is a great store for anything in bulk. Including customers that look lost and don't have a clue what's going on. That's my biggest complaint about Costco. Other customers standing in the middle of the isles staring off into space, like they just set foot on an undiscovered planet. Obviously holding everyone else up. Hahaha Ah well, the store itself is a great place to grab a lot of good food, clothes, electronics, toys, and even (huge eyeroll) blingy jewelry for the wife. Oh wait I found a complaint that is actually about Costco. They keep changing products and getting rid of stuff I like. Then you can't find it anymore. That's not nice! Other than that Costco is a good place to grab a lot of stuff. Like giant peanut butter. Yum yum.
Their tire service is extremely rude and they never answered their phone so we cannot even call to confirm our appointment time. They don’t even send reminder emails regarding appointments or call us and when you try to talk to them, they show hell of an attitude have no respect for the customer and are extremely rude. They may have a great prices for their services but I would rather go somewhere else and pay more where I am treated with respect. When I told her I tried calling multiple times to confirm my appointment time and no one answered the phone and she said I should’ve called the back office or admin. Well that’s not my job to figure out where to call. You are a tire center my service was at the tire center so I would call the tire center.
The place can be at times pure bedlam in the parking lot as it services Kingston and area for just over 200,000 people. Yeah they need to look at opening one with a gas bar somewhere in town. However it is usually well stocked items wise and most of the tills are open too. Usually go to pick up a variety of items for both food and general goods. The only thing I don't like is their appliances. They may have online ordering but then to deal with both shipping and handling for cost delivery was terrible. For a lower price you can buy an LG 12 cubic foot stainless steel fridge at Home Depot with a better warranty coverage and lower delivery fee, including a veteran discount. Costco needs to up their game significantly in that area.
This is most likely the busiest Costco I have ever been in! It is so overcrowded you really can't enjoy your shopping experience here. I've been here twice now and I can say it's also the last time. I have yet to really find any value better than what is available at other big box stores. Costco does a great job of repackaging sizes to make it seem like you're getting a good deal, but in reality there really aren't any exceptional deals here. Apart from some brands that you can't get elsewhere, I'm having a hard time justifying renewing my membership here. I'm not sure why I need six tubes of toothpaste sitting in my closet waiting to get used. There's probably better things I could spend my money on
The people at the front are quite picky in who they ask for membership. I have was waiting for my spouse to come from the car before going in and just randomly was watching people go in. As soon as we were about to go in we were asked for membership...I said you did not ask anyone else...the guy stopped in his track and was about to answer, but me with my Jamaican self was ready for him. Why would I go in to Costco if I don't have a membership? What's the purpose of these people cause either way you are getting sale. We all know the demographics that side of the world so seeing good looking people like me will make you question if I can afford a membership. I am ready for you all.
I work here so I I'm kind of biased but this is simply explained as a fancy grocery store with high-end merchandise and food products in bulk form. Employees are happy well taken care of and well-paid and that shows in the service you receive. All fresh departments are surgically cleaned and audited ..., you can guarantee you are getting the best cleanest most perfect product you can expect!!!! I like working for this company because I know it is the top dog literally if you drop your raspberries in the parking lot and ask an attendant nicely they will replace them. Did I just blow your mind???
Overall just a sub par costso. I've never had issues with the staff, but the item stock leaves something to be desired. While there is definitely a large quantity of stock, I find the types and quality of goods they choose to stock leaves much to be desired. Compared to the Kanata Costco, this one falls flat on its face. Needs more options for natural, organic, fair trade, and carbon neutral foods. Not all bad, there are some good products to be found, but it just isn't quite up to par in my opinion. Will update review if this seems to change.
As my husband was scanning our items at self checkout , one of the employees came up and started scanning everything on the bottom of our cart with the scan gun and moving some of our items. Not sure if they were trying to be helpful or just didn't trust us Either way it was confusing and it felt pretty rude. Employees should ask if a customer wants help because using a scan gun while a customer is scanning items on the machine at the same time makes it hard for the customer to keep track of what has been scanned and what hasn't been.
I had a fantastic shopping experience at Costco Wholesale! The store offers an incredible variety of products, from groceries to electronics and everything in between. The prices are often unbeatable, and the quality of their Kirkland Signature brand is impressive. The spacious layout and friendly staff make navigating the store a breeze. Plus, their generous return policy and samples throughout the store are a big plus. Whether you're shopping for a family or stocking up for yourself, Costco is a great choice for both value and selection.
Costco is a great place to shop for large quantities of products, great for families with kids or grandparents. Food, clothing, electronics, gifts, kitchen items, and many other products are available. They have a service center for car repair, oil changes, and tire service. They sell most popular tire brands, do brakes and battery service. They have a propane filling station for BBQ tanks. There is a large parking lot. Costco is a membership store. You must purchase a yearly membership to shop there. There are various membership options.
Prices and selection are still good but the Kingston store is often way too crowded. Shoppers are like cattle being herded to checkouts and the lunch bar which now has minimal seating and only digital ordering. Not great for the many senior shoppers there. Hot dogs are still $1.50 but Costco makes up for it with the smallest order of chips available being far more than one person should eat and costing about $3.50. The shine has worn off for me.
They do have large number of items available in store. The cost is not much different than other large stores except that you buy in Bulk due to which it seems a bit cheaper. The only benefit is if you are buying certain items which has Costco pricing which is usually a bit cheaper then outside and also have further discounts. Costco fruits are of good quality and better than many superstores. Overall a good experience visiting this place.
One of my favorite locations. Very busy and good turnover of product. Nothing stale in the store. Parking can be a challenge but then every Costco is a challenge to find parking close to the door. No gas pumps here though... Princess Auto across the street makes up for that and a gas station a few feet from the store on the corner. Go early to avoid crowds.
I love this store. The variety is great. The only issue I have is that there are not enough employees in the department when you need help. I have really bad hands, and I had to lift a 22-lb bag of dog food after trying to find someone for 10 minutes going all over the store. I finally had to do it myself, or I would still be wondering about the store.
Costco is Costco, so they already get a bunch of stars by default, but if I were to compare Costcos to each other this one would be on the lower end of the scale. Staff are generally great, but for being the only location in town, and serving surrounding communities, it's pretty small, lacks a gas bar, and is, I think, ready to expand and grow.
Always stupidly busy, doesnt matter what time or day of the week you go. Also, sample makers spend more time temping food than serving samples. As someone who has spent more than a couple decades in food service - the pretend temping and monitoring with the test samples is hilarious and sad lol.
Ordered contacts for my son and only received 1 eye prescription. Waited over 2 months and still nothing. He is off to university and now we scramble to order online. Thanks for your apologies but that does not help him to see clearly. I recommend ordering online— plus its cheaper!!!!
Staff is amazing! Always really friendly and ready to help. The grounds are kept clean, and remains very pandemic friendly, including disinfecting carts as they're returned, and ensuing enforcement of mask policy. I feel safe shopping here, and the deals are often available!
If you’ve ever been to a Costco, you’ll know what to expect; lots of products, buying in bulk and some really good deals. I find the staff at this location are the friendliest of any Costco I’ve been to. If you haven’t been to a Costco before, prepare for ridiculous crowds.
Crazy busy on Friday afternoons. Most other times too. Adding Friday mornings to the list. Seems like the only time it isn't crazy is just before closing, which is fine if you're a jerk who likes making staff stay late. Please don't do this.
As a European visiting Canada this is a big shock for me. Costco is huge compared to grocery stores in The Netherlands and they had a 1.50$ Hotdog with large Pepsi which is insanely cheap. That is literally the price of 1 pastry in Europe.
Great shopping experience, was overwhelmed by choices . Munched on some sausage pieces offered in store.... nice. Got these and 7 other items from there. Couldn't find stand-up food packs. That would've really made my day, if stocked.
Cashiers are fast efficient and easy to get along with . They are helpful. Just don't like the self check out . Please keep your cashier loose. The self check out human connection is most important . You're better than the bargain store.
I had a new set of winter tires installed here and the service was great! With a purchase of new tires I got free installation and balancing, which was nice. Service was quick and efficient, and it seems like they did a good job!
A huge shout out to Alex in administration for helping me out with a Bakery order that I put the wrong date on! He ran down to let them know as there is no phone in the bakery. Now that is good old fashioned customer service!!
Parking is absolutely terrible at this location ( understanding that it's pretty bad at most Costcos and normal for it to be super busy), but just pure chaos at this location. Self check outs are a blessing here …
I am very satisfied with their return policy. I returned my robot vacuum as I wasn't really using it and they took it back. I was very happy. E.L at return department is always very nice and helpful.
friendly and helpful staff :) great place to go if you have kids going back to school or little ones in general. It gets quit busy on weekends so I'd suggest going throughout the week if possible :)
You can basically get everything you want but also everything you don’t need. Luckily I go in with a list and stick to it…well maybe 1 extra item. …
Love costco! Lots of items to buy in bulk an definitely some good deals here. Definitely recommend if looking for snacks or items in large quantities.
Went in for shopping groceries. It's a big store with staff everywhere ready to help even when on their way to break. Never been disappointed here.
Lots of free samples throughout the whole store! Lots of selection, very very busy, a bit overcrowded especially at the cash area's.
Glasses department does their job efficiently and happily. Shorter woman/asian dark hair on point with taste and customer service.
Would be great if the tire center would answer the phone. Frustrating when you need answers and they hide behind a digital voice.
Seems like you are the one who makes people overspend. Lot of stuff environmental non friendly. Bad for environment and health.
Really busy but is the Christmas season. Even though they were busy the. Heckouts were moving very efficiently.
Been a couple of times. Busy place but would never buy a membership. Better deals at food basics or no frills.
Great store the food court is pretty clean and the food overall at Costco is pretty cheap compared to Walmart
Always busy and packed, recently added the standing station at food court which is a good improvement.
It's Costco... Seems to be fairly organized. Pretty busy at all times, but not brutal
I like this place. Lots of good things and you can save money by buying in bulk.
Great experience in and out record time .I love shopping at Costco.
Great store. Very friendly staff. Not overly busy during the week.
