Dishonesty put me off my dinner and ever going back. The food also wasn't great. I ordered the smoked meat sandwich. She asked what I wanted as my side. I clearly asked "what's included?", to which she rhymed off a list of things including sweet potato fries, chips and guacamole. I chose chips and guacamole as that sounded like a nice change. While we wait for our meals we talked about how other restaurants charge for guacamole, so I quickly looked it up, and their menu online said it was an extra $4 - and many of the things she named were extra charge also. When she brought the food I said "I just want to be clear. This is included, and not extra?". She said "oh, it's $2 or something". I reminded her I asked what was included, not what was extra. She said "I won't charge you". So she also lied about the charge being $2 or something", when she knew darn well it was $4. Well, I'm not sure if management tells the staff to secretly sell upgrades without mentioning the extra cost, or if that's something the staff does on their own. I don't care which. Dishonesty of any kind means I will never set foot own the door again - and I will relay my experience to everyone. I won't even get into the smoked meat sandwich only having 4 slices of meat, and the sauerkraut was "stacked" higher. It was really a sauerkraut sandwich. But it's really the dishonesty that is intolerable. I have zero tolerance for lying to make more money off me. Zero. Never will I return. Upselling is one thing, but be clear what you are doing - especially if asked specifically "what's included?". And when caught, don't double down with another lie ("$2 or something"). Sorry guys, you crossed the line. You shouldn't be in business.

I've been a fan of this spot for quite some time, enjoying it for hockey games and date nights with the boyfriend. we liked going there because things were reliable - we almost always get the same thing because the quality was always good. The last time we were there, however, things were really really disappointing. The server didn't seem well trained - not once did she check up on us after dropping of our food or else we would have told her how unhappy we were with our food (however, we were starving and would have eaten the table at that point so we stopped waiting and just ate what we could.) I spent $50 on 4 tiny pieces of chicken nuggets (which looked completely different from what we used to see), barely 1/4 of an apple slices and a side of honey with burnt (and I mean dry, crumbly burnt) 1/2 of a waffle. The nachos had one thin layer of cheese (when we have seen many times before proper layers), a few shreds of chicken and a splash of buffalo sauce. Very small amount of other toppings. I am really really hoping that it was a one off because I would hate to lose one of our preferred restaurants but having wasted that much money on a meal of that quality, I am unsure about returning. Typically I would email the manager directly but I could not find any direct contact information. I added my bill for the owner's reference of when I was there.

Food was great. Service was subpar. Had the fish and chips (exactly how I love it with crispy batter). Problem is I had to ask twice for the salt and vinegar. Had to ask twice for the bill as well. Had been asked a few times by the rest of the party wether I had actually asked for the bills it had taken so long. Food took 40 or so minutes to get to the table. Once the order for the table was taken we didn't see our server for most of the night as she was working behind the bar the entire night so wasn't able to get free from pouring to really serve the table. There was a sizable party and the food didn't come out once so some had started eating before some even had their food. Felt guilty about it. Having worked in a bar kitchen and other restaurants this is a huge no no in any place I've worked. Have been at places where 25 plus ordered and the food all came out at once so if other restaurants are that organized, this place shouldn't be struggling to serve 8. All being said it seemed under staffed as we kept having to ask other servers not serving our area for service. Food was good, service needs work.

Really fantastic fresh home made food. Absolutely delicious. I had the Guiness Steak and mushroom bowl. At first I thought it was mostly gravy/sauce but then I found the beef and odd mushroom and homemade mashed on top....SO good. The mini yorkie bowls were light and crispy and perfect for scooping up all the delicious sauce and gravy. I feel bad they weren't bigger! I chose the guacamole and chips as my side. There was a ton of chips and a tiny cup of guacamole but it was SO good I immediately asked for a few more sides of guac (*which i ended up taking to go cause i was stuffed!). My friend had the pubs bacon cheeseburger which was also really good. Fresh cut fries were really good. Service was excellent and staff was excellent. By the way one of us was in a wheelchair and I was told previously that the place was not really wheelchair accessible by the waitress nor could they accommodate us so we left and haven't returned til today (I wanted that pub pie!). We sat on the patio and had no problems but did not go inside this visit. Would definitely recommend for the food and service. Will definitely be back. A+.

Went tonight since we had some good meals in the past. Was sat at same table when we first went. Apparently tables being “sticky” is seen as a positive thing. Drinks had no fizz whatsoever and tasted like someone opened a can of soda and left it open for two days. Replacement drink also did not have fizz. Gave up. Still charged full price. Shepherd’s fry had a tree’s worth of herbs tossed on top of the meal as if someone had tripped carrying it. Peas looked like they came out of a can. (That dark green colour is always telling). Fries had no salt. I could not finish it (and I was starving). Kids would not touch the chicken tenders because of their weird batter that looks like it burned. Really went downhill. Service was slow. Happy they at least comped one kid meal. If this is a new chef, hope they replace them.

We went for lunch at 12:20. There were only 2 other tables in the dining area at this time. We could not order drinks because the bar was locked and no one had the key. We were told only beer and wine were available, but after 2 attempts at trying to find a wine from the menu that they had in stock I settled for coffee. There was no decaf available and I had to wait 40 minutes for a pot of regular and a water. When the food came it was cold. We ordered the same dishes we always do and they were not as good as they usually are. Our bill was not split properly and there was no option for tip on the payment machine so we had to leave cash. Not sure if we will be back.

Had a really nice pre-event dinner here the other night. It was obvious they were short staffed and it would have been great to get served faster because we had an event to go to, but the server was so nice and apologetic and we totally understand what the situation is for restaurants out there, overall it had little impact on us. The food was really delicious. My boyfriend and I both got the fish tacos and fries and they were so crisp, so perfectly not greasy, and really very delicious. Had the pleasure of ordering takeout through the host on a sens game night, they told us 30-45 minutes just to be safe as it was right during dinner rush before a game. They were right on time when we returned! The service was great at the door and bar and the food was just alright. I really enjoyed my chicken burger but the rest of our order was very "plain". That didn't mean bad, it was just not much better than our cooking at home! I would recommend it for the atmosphere and pre-game or event fun if you're headed to the CTC after.

Really disappointing experience. Waited 15 minutes before a manager noticed we weren’t helped. Then waited 30 minutes to be told by our server (who looked like she hated her job and could care less about us) our food would be 10 minutes more. It’s just a couple burgers guys.. We asked for the manager as we had to leave and no one came. So we left hungry and a little confused to be honest. Would highly not recommend this place. My boyfriend and I got the steak and fries and the fries were room temp while the steak was so rare there was blood on my boyfriend’s plate, we ordered them medium-well. When we told the waitress we weren’t able to finish the steak she took it away and gave us 10% off.. no offer to correct the mistake. In today’s economy it is a treat to get dinner out, let alone an overpriced steak. This was really a bummer. Last time we will be going here.

Me and my girlfriend went to eat there before the Luke combs concert. Now in all fairness I know how busy they were but our food took so long to come. We waiting over an hour for a French onion soup, quesadilla and fish and chips. Food was good pub food but our waiter told us 5 times are food was coming out and it never did, so we just kept waiting. Probably wouldn’t return as it’s just your average run of the mill pub food.

Was fairly good overall. We went as a large group around lunch time and service was decent. Some food was better than others looking at what people got but most people were happy - good amount of choice on the menu. Prices were pretty standard pub prices.

My office (more than 100 ppl) had a reception here. Rey (a manager) was kind and gave us a very good deal. They closed the door for our group, so we were able to have a great time. My bosses and VIPs were very happy. The interior is much wider than downtown location and a microphone was provided to host the event.They didn't forget the Military discount. If you are a CAF member, enjoy the D'arcy Mcgee's!

It had been almost one year since our last visit and I was welcomed like family. The menu was somewhat smaller but it is understandable since COVID has impacted the way the restaurant operates. All in all the choices were adequate and we both founded something for our taste buds. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was hot and tasty. The drinks so so. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Called and made a reservation, when we arrived they did not have it. Got a table anyway, but it took almost an hour for wings to arrive. The restaurant was not busy, so I have no idea why service was so slow! One order was missing and one was wrong. Very disappointed!!!

We used to enjoy this place. The physical premises are run down - but that is forgivable as just about any restaurant is trying to recover from pandemic closures....but you can't serve food that was portioned out three days ago. My meal looked tired and as thought it had been re-heated. The pico was brownish. On the upside, the fish tacos were good.

Went on a recent Friday night for pints. (Ocotber 28th) The gentleman doing live music played awesome background tunes. In key, a huge range of 90's and old school jams. Went here for just some drinks and I ordered the red sangria. I wouldn't recommend it.. there are no layers of different juices, liqueur and wine, it is just not very complex in flavor. I like this drink at st Louis or 3 brothers much more.. The decor is very dark.. not classy dark just dark.
