Made plans with a friend tonight to try out Ed's sports bar. Quaint little gem on King street east near Wentworth. I went to highschool with Scott, the owner. I had been meaning to go down for some time to try it out. While I waited for my friend, I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Poutine. IT WAS AMAZING!! It was obvious Scott prepared the chicken himself for this dish. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The portion was enough for 2 people and it was VERY reasonably priced. As are the drinks!! Scott and Emily chatted with me and some of their friends at the bar. So personable, which was great because my friend had to cancel. So I stuck around for almost 2 hours and had an enjoyable evening because of the wonderful company. Bottom line: If you're looking for phenomenal casual food, awesome prices, friendly personable service, and a place where you don't have to yell at your friends over the music, go try Ed's Sports Bar. Thanks Scott and Emily. Your company was most enjoyable! See you again soon. PS. they have a jukebox!! And 2 TV screens to watch your favourite sports.

I posted in a FB group looking for the best Dive bar in Hamilton and got some great suggestions. To be clear, I don’t say Dive maliciously, I’ve worked them. I love them. I truly prefer them to the fancy/trendy bars. But you have to find the right one. And the bar was set pretty high last night with Ed’s. The wings/poutine deal was awesome. The fries were CRISPY! I’ve seriously never had a poutine that wasn’t a soggy mess before. And the wings were perfect. It’s a small menu but the man knows how to cook. But the best part, even better than the food and reasonably priced booze was the staff. The owner Scott and bartender Sarah were super friendly without being overbearing, and you could tell they truly cared about every customer. Ed’s is a hidden gem and Scott deserves to see that place packed.

Never been to the old eds but with new owners we decided to try the chicken natchos from there tonight and let me tell you the value and flavor is there folks amazing down to earth chef/owner scott is not only funny and helpful but his skill in the kitchen really shines through didnt know natchos could be so flavourful fresh grilled chicken and the sour cream dip is amazing on anything two of us couldnt even make a dent in the order cant wait to try the wings along with other menu items great job guys highly recommend

This bar is the best watering hole in the city! Cheap cold beer and cheap shots! Pool, darts and jukebox music. Can't beat it! Want food? No problem! Just order pizza or walk down to Mr. Sub! Bartenders? Please...the most gorgeous on King St. They are called the "Queens on King" Stop looking for that home and away from home and go to Eds!

Man, I used to think the old Sandbar Hotel was a dump, but this dive bar has it beat, by a long shot!!! The only thing sketchier than the puke inspired "décor", are the lowlifes hunkered around the particle board bar!!! Had 1 beer, and had to RUN home, to wash my hands!!!! Don't waste your time, or money going there!!!!! " EW "

Man this place is awesome. The prices are fantastic and the owner has a real pride about his food. For good reason too as the nachos and chicken wraps we got were great. The smoked burgers are next on my hit list and I can't wait to go back. The bar prices make this place a great place to meet friends and have some drinks too.

Had the smoked burger and my wife had the buffalo chicken wrap. Both were excellent as were the heaps of fries that came with. About a week after trying the burger and wrap we also tried the smoked chicken wings he had on special. These are probably the best wings I've ever had. Highly recommend. Great value!!

Well priced drinks. New owner has it cleaned up nice. Servers so friendly and the food is yummy!! Give them a go! The nachos were huge and a hit for my family dinner! Canadian burger needs to bun trust you will be filled haha!! Got the loaded fries and that nacho cheese sauce ...I like!

Went in and tried out the weekly special the 'MacDaddy' nachos. They were absolutely delicious the Ed's signature sauce adds a twist to the classic big mac taste! The new owner and staff really bring in an inviting fun atmosphere will definitely be returning soon!

Owner has really turned around the place. Clean and great atmosphere!! Scott is such a personable guy and takes pride in the place and it shows in the food. Portions are huge and the food is super tasty. Definitely order the nachos, you will not be disappointed!

Best pub style food in all of Hamilton hands down with affordable drink pricing, the owner goes above and beyond to always give us great service remembers our orders tastes or stories we tell, we love Scott and is our go to bar

Taste amazing, portion size makes every option an incredible value. I mean look at the pictures the Nachos alone fed my family for days And the Burger's don't get me started .... Just try it for yourself

10/10 I go often when I know the server Em is in! She is absolutely wonderful and provides great service. Everytime we go the owner Scott is super friendly and makes great food at great prices.

If you like karaoke and don't like waiting too long for your turn, this is your place! It's a complete dive, however, it's pretty inexpensive. The staff is pretty friendly as well.

Awesome little place with a new owner that has a great deal of passion for what he does. Also a very gifted chef and all around great guy. Please bring your business here.

Picked up the buffalo chicken poutine for a quick lunch, it was ready super fast and is delicious!! Can't wait for them to open back up fully and enjoy a beer here

Great little bar. The food is delicious and the Supreme fries are a must try. The staff are friendly and there is always a sports game on for any fans

New owner takes pride in good food- large servings! He did renovations & really cleaned up the place! (no more nasty carpet!).

The rug in this place looks like its NEVER been vacuumed.....would definitely give this place a miss ... better places !!!!!!

Food is unreal! Got the Buffalo chicken wrap, so much chicken and great fries. Definitely a dive bar but fully recommend!

The staff has to remember that the bar is in the hood .. what ever happen to the black guy who sold the cheese there.
