The foods are fresh including the fish. The language barrier is a major problem here. Most of the employees are spanish-speaking only except the cashiers.i came into the store to get some fish no problem but I also wanted garlic bread I couldn't find it in the bakery section(surprising I know lol)so I asked the attendant and he couldn't understand me saying "I'm looking for garlic bread" I had to pull out my phone and get the Google translation going.Pan de Ajo is what I told him and h3 finally understood. They are all immigrants just like me and I totally get it they gotta start from somewhere but come on man some basic English is definitely needed here.
Its a great supermarket that has a strong inventory of things that caters to all people, especially black & Latino Caribbean, and Asian. The cooked food section is the best that I've seen anywhere in any supermarket, it even rivals some restaurants in terms of quality and price, just hard to beat. Their Rotisserie chicken is the best I've ever had, and I've had them all, they have great seasonings on that chicken. Their produce is amazing and always fresh. I could go on and on. Its my favorite supermarket, its culture sensitive, contextually relevant, and extremely customer friendly.
I am pretty upset. Not at the items sold although the meats & vegetables are expensive. My issue are the bags. When it became mandatory to purchase bags it was disgusting that we all had to pay. Reasons given were to help the environment and do away with plastic bags. How come this store along with other supermarket's are selling plastic bags? I'm super pissed because it's just another added expense to your shopping instead of saving the environment. Stores buy bags in bulk therefore it's cheaper for them to purchase. Why are you making a profit with selling bags... plastic no less.
This supermarket is more expensive than other supermarkets in black neighborhoods. I mean really. I'm talking an average $1 to $2 more for everything. Their fruits seem to be on the lower quality side. With that said, I still go here because they have some high quality food item brands, and plenty of different things from all over the world. They have a good selection of vegan alternatives as well. Stay away from the fruit produce, and prepare to pay a buck or two more for everything. But it's a good market.
Everytime I go to flatlands ave with a bag already filled. I'm followed in store until I get to register. I pay attention well. Next they spoiled snow crabs and fish expensive . Most poultry they pack are brown. I go to meat market first I leave out store spending over 200.00 and don't feel comfortable last week final time. I'm not a racists I know they have to do they job but you don't own these things the pay not worth it. You collect bins get off my back.
A lovely surprise tucked away at the back of this little shopping center. The produce section is well stocked with a beautiful array of fresh produce. I didn’t need any today but the seafood and meat sections look good too. The entire store is neat, clean, and tidy. I can tell the management and staff care. Some specific food items had a relatively small selection though like herbal teas and pancake syrup. I’ll definitely come back here.
This was my first time at this supermarket and I totally enjoyed the experience. The store itself is beautiful. High ceilings with wood beams. There were so many choices of products even peanut butter. A large produce department with some veggies I had never heard of. The lines to the registers were well controlled for social distancing and the cashier was quick and polite. Overall a great experience.
I always go shopping here for my mom. The prices fluctuate sometime they are low other times they are high. They tend to have a bit of everything. Every food Bazaar is different compared to locations. They carry what serves the neighborhood, which is good. They are more affordable than other markets and their produce and meats are always fresh vs other high end market I've been too.
Great fully stocked supermarket! The Stars of the show are the fresh produce section which not only has all the common fruits and veggies, but also lots of international fruit and favorites! The supermarket also has fresh seafood on ice, but not frozen and a full butcher shop! With knowledgeable butches that know their meat and the best cuts. I'll definitely continue to shop here!
Need a better system for check out. I had to be the 100th person on line that stretched back to the cold cut counter. Otherwise, shelves well stocked, store is clean and orderly. Our pandemic has forced us to rearrange all aspects of life, including our shopping experiences. Please try to implement a better system for check out. We can all use a little break. Customers and staff.
The store is kept clean throughout the day. Produce is fresh and plentiful. The seafood section is well stocked, too. I love the assortment of brands, including international staples. So when we want to cook our West Indian dishes, we find everything we need in one store. The prices are good. And I like that they have their own app which stores your shopper card and coupons.
My words cannot explain my emotions at Food Bazaar. I really loved this place. It was my first visit ever visiting a Food Bazaar Supermarket. I felt like a little kid in a candy store. The prices were great for the items I purchased. I bought salmon fish for $9 dollars a pound. Fish guys were helpful too. Great place to shop. I will go back any chance I get.
I was only here once, but from what I can tell customer service was great.. Went in to get one item, ended up walking out with 4 bags of groceries. Also if you love your Caribbean foods there is section just for that like some others.. bit pricey on some of their stuff, but is to be expected since it's imported for our needs.. …
It is an amazing store! This mega supermarket is cheaper than Cherry Valley!! They're friendly and always have what I need and want!, going there in a few just for milk and egg nogg! Oh by the way... I live more than a quarter mile from it! Doesn't matter! They're worth every step! ❤️❤️❤️ …
Food bazaar is a diversely rich store. The fruit and vegetable area offers a large selection of both local and internationally grown produce. It caters to vegans and has an extensive herbal supply. Each aisle is properly labeled and the prices are reasonable. Overall this is an amazing store to shop.
Food Bazaar has become one of my favorites. In my opinion Food Bazaar is a store that meets all your needs, with a variety of options. Food Bazaar has a seafood market, fresh produce, deli counter, and hot foods. If you're looking for international ingredients Food Bazaar is the go to place.
This supermarket is amazing, they have awesome prices and great deals for things that you can’t find anywhere else!!! The selection is incredible they have everything you can think of even special culture items , the meats & vegetable’s/Fruits are always fresh …. I will be coming back
Very organized and clean. You know the fruits and vegetables are fresh. The fish spot is also very clean. Not congested at all even on its busiest time. Staff is friendly. And they have amazing sales. Ohhh they have a wide selection of non dairy items for my allergic child.
There prices are too high and you have to be careful when you are checking out because they put up signs that say Managers Special for example yesterday they had signs all in front of the M&M''s saying Managers Special 5 for $5 but when they rang up the M&M"s it was regular
This store is so so clean. There prices on the meat department is top quality and affordable. Love this store. There cashier's are so professional and extremely helpful and nice. I love this store it's way better than the one on Junius St in Brownsville Bklyn.
The store is amazing. The service is wonderful. I can find a lot of herbal foods and teas I love there along with foods. The prices are a little high but the sales are good. Can't wait for the Scott tissue to go on sale again ☺️ overall I like shopping here.
Very clean and also well organized I like the fact they carry a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. They have a wide selection of items from the Caribbean that's awesome I can always find my food from back home. Hope they continue to up keep the store.
I only purchase meats there and not very often. There’s never sale items or coupons to expensive for regular shopping. I wonder why all of the food bazaars only have Dominican workers it wouldn’t hurt to employ people of different ethnic.
I love shopping at Food Bazaar. They have everything you need and the Deli section is amazing. I love this supermarket. PLEASE BRING BACK THE COLCAFE 3 IN 1 COFFEE. ITS THE ONLY PLACE I CAN BUY IT AND I LOVE THAT COFFEE. PLEASE!!!!
Update one year later: My first review below still stands. * Sooo amazing!!! Best grocery store in New York. So welcoming, prices are great, staff is awesome. I love going here. When I'm here I feel like I am back in England.
Love love the variety they have is unmatched I shop there every chance I get, everything you need in one place, all kinds of meat, seafood seasonings, greens, fresh fruits everything you can think of under one roof.
This super market is great. It carries all types of food. Spanish, Chinese, West Indian and American. Do not park in the wheelchair parking spot, you will be towed, unless you have a wheelchair permit.
Clean, well stocked with very healthy Varieties. I enjoy shopping Food Bazaar located on Flatlands more spacious in square footage which is why the selection can be better. Long time customer service
It's okay but I'd be careful about buying "fresh" meat there. Bought 2 different kinds of meat. One was great but the other was rotten and very smelly. Threw it away! Waste of money!
Food Bazaar located on Flatlands has a vast variety of any particular brand you want in food. They open up at 7:00 a.m. There are items on sale every week. Love and light.
Seven Rivers Chocolate Balls to make the best chocolate tea out of Jamaica. My daughter favorite.. Lots of Caribbean products and the staff is very friendly and courteous.
It is a nice place to shop i like it some of the pleple that work there is not nice so be careful but food bazaar is a good place to shop they need to check they stuff
Any time I work in this area. This is my lunch location, great Super market . I added another stars making it 5 stars,I think you deserve it most definitely. …
This food Bazaar is very expensive. Also the fish department is ok however the men who clean the fish don't speak English so there is a language barrier
The best meat department I have seen in years, and the international variety of product left me without words. I LOVE THIS STORE, best in Brooklyn.
This place is stocked from top to bottom and with product from just about every cultural enclave in NYC. If you can't find it, ask for it!
Not decently long queues. I stood for 40 minutes, only 3 cash registers were working. We need to do something about it, think about it!!!
Picked up some fish and shrimp from them it was well Wirth the money. Good variety of seafood . All in all damn good supermarket.
Spacious supermarket and you can find literally almost everything there from Caribbean food Russian food like almost everything
Very clean and well organized. Not only were the stock personnel helpful but so were the cashiers. I will definitely be back.
Prices are reasonable and there's always parking space available! Get there early, in order to get a shopping cart! …
Excellent place for groceries and international food items that you don’t usually find at your local grocery stores
They have the worst customer service the line takes forever, and they have so much workers for no reason.
You can always find items on sale, clean and airy, and sell gluten free and vegan alternative foods.
I love this store there meats depth is so clean that by saying the store is very to shop
Brand New Supermarket is stocked with so much to choose from. Seafood is a plus.
I acquired all the items I needed. Shelves were well stocked. I can't complain.
The prices are fair. They do have a variety of items that can meet your budget.
The seafood department was awesome, fresh selections at a reasonable price.
It was big and they had everything you might need. It was clean and busy!
Always find what I need here. However, prices have gone up tremendously
Clean, large, variety. Will have to get to know where things are.
