This Fiesta has been the neighborhood store and most recently they have been purchased by HEB. I don't know if there are new employees, but the "Customer Service" has changed. I have never met the most rudest employee; her name is "AMELIA" and she is a cashier. There was three lines open; two were for customers with less items and the third line was backed up. There was one person in Amelia's line, so I stood in her line to check out. She stated to me RUDELY that her line was for items 15 or less. I had 22 items and was in disbelief. I walked over to the manager on the floor and asked permission to have my groceries checked out at Amelia's register and he said it was okay. Walking back to where Amelia was standing, she spoke angrily and out loud at me as to how many items were allowed per customer. She refused to check out my groceries and made inappropriate comments standing near the manager and me. In all the years that I have been in customer service that I have witnessed an employee be belligerent toward a customer, disrespect her manager and refuse to work. Amelia is a poor example of a front line employee and should not have direct contact with customers because she lacks interpersonal skills. I have paid a little more in price for convenience and will drive further, pay less and friendly customer service. Additionally, I contacted Fiesta's Corporate Headquarters and waited on line for 8 minutes and the woman on the other end hung up the phone. Even the employee at Fiesta's office did not care about the customer. The customer who contributes to paying a part of their wages. The best advertisement is word of mouth... I give Fiesta two thumbs down!
The manager, don't remember his name, is hateful towards those with "mental illnesses." I have seen him mistreat a women who I personally know who has a mental illness very rudely. When I brought it to his attention, he told me to take her home with me. I feel if people are going to be in s managerial position, they should be trained in learning house go tell with different types of people, especially those who have men ball illnesses!! They have asked me to leave the property while waiting on my Medicaid ride, or husband to pick me up, however, the Hispanic people they allow to hang around smoking, drinking, and panhandling for money. Very rude dispositions and when I asked an employee about a certain fruit she could not understand me because she did not slash fluent English. It is frustrating at times to attempt to conversate when they can't speak English. I feel people who speak Bilingual should be in rugged positions where questions can be answered. It would also be great off Fiesta would require those who don't speak English, to take English as a second language a few hours a week as an incentive for a bonus check once completed or even a small raise.
The original location of the Houston area Fiesta stores. Right where Weingarten's used to be, another local grocery store franchise up until 1970. Situated on the Northside neighborhood a few blocks off of two Redline METRORail stations; and in between the 10 and 45 Interstates along with Highway 59 to the east of it, it's an easily accessible supermarket to get to. Being a staple of the neighborhood for decades, it caters mostly to the people living around it hence the bakery offering an assortment of Mexican and Central American pastries and cakes, and a taqueria right near the entrance serving hot food and also an in-house tortilleria. This one doesn't have as varied a selection of produce as other Fiesta Marts nor a fresh seafood section but it has almost everything you need to keep the fridge and pantry stocked as well as many household essentials.
I Totally overpriced and the freshness of the products sold there seem old and not as fresh. It's like they get all the second hand groceries after Kroger picks first. Even worse the prices they have for the groceries are so inflated it's robbery. I can spend $200 at Kroger and have two carts filled with quality groceries. At Fiesta I spend the same $200 and not only do they not carry most of the items I purchase, after I check out and spend that $200 I'd be lucky to have one cart semi full. #RealTalk It is may 22nd, And I am amending My review. They are under new management and even though the prices are still very high that employees are more accommodating and polite.
I like the Fiesta Food Mart on Qiitman fast & friendly service.I really don't like fake news about it But I'm not interested in the Fiesta Food Mart on Lyons Ave.I don't like a lady who works for the company because I am black and Phiiips white guy and she's Mexican she reached in my shopping cart and pick up my jumbo shrimp and didn't say may I look at the price of the jumbo shrimp and I believe she thought the worker gave me a sexual advance price for the jumbo shrimp and he's black man in the seafood department of Fiesta Food Mart on Lyons Ave she is predjudice and trying to get my brother fired up.
They would not honor price tag which shows candy sells individually. Cashier said they don't sell the candy individually even though it was tagged. That I grabbed the packs they sell. I told them where I got the candy, where the tag was and told them to check their cameras. Manager then told me the tag expired. They refused to help or listen. I got upset and told them they should stop arguing with customers and just listen because I grabbed candy from checkout line. Check cameras. But yes, I guess in their world, me as the customer, I'm wrong. They are always right even though tag proves them wrong
I was raised in this neighborhood all my life. This Fiesta has been going down hill overall. That area needs another food mart like seller brothers or food town around this location so the people in that area can have better choices and competition. I prefer to go outside that area 10 miles or more to find a better choices and some times better prices also not to mention quality. Fiesta owners I think don’t care much since area has no competitors since the only other food mart is another Fiesta 1 mile from this one. Again with the same bad selection and quality.
There are 2 different locales on my way home so I usually make a quick stop if I need anything. This particular time needed produce. What a horrible mistake. Tomatoes, Red Onion, avocado, and several other areas were all full of rotten produce with FRUIT FILES! I was just sick.. Also noticed they keep raw lemons or peppers on the meat and seafood .The acid is actually cooking the meat/fish and can become dangerous to eat. Will not go back
All Fiesta Mart stores are high priced. Also Fiesta Mart treats their employees very poorly. They keep them in the poverty bracket intentionally and do not give them 40 hrs a week, not to mention the employees at the registers do not get a consistent schedule thus not allowing them to get a part time job elsewhere or to schedule their lives accordingly. I worked for Fiesta and know this to be facts and truths.
Has to be one of the worst food stores in Houston. Prices are beyond ridiculous. Price gouging galore! Fruit is always not fresh and the food selection is priced for those who have WIC or Food Stamps. Not for the common person who holds a job and does not require food assistance. It is obvious that pricing is not for the middle to low income family..I am done shopping there!
Came in on my lunch break to get a money order. They won’t accept DEBIT CARDS for money orders and there is no ATM. It’s a DEBIT card so explain why you all don’t accept them! I had to get out of line, make 2 separate transactions at the register to get cash back because the limit is $50. It was just super inconvenient for absolutely no reason at all!
Not a very clean Fiesta but then again most of their stores aren't very clean. There is plenty of parking but the parking area is horrific. It's very busy around school time. Plenty of kids not watching where they are going or what they are doing so keep an eye out not to run anyone over. Thefts do happen in this area along with vandalism.
Wow this place is super busy the bakery just might have a genuine Bakery chef from Mexico. I tried just about one of everything my first time up. I used to go on trips to Mexico City every year with a religious organization and I can't tell the difference in taste from genuine Mexican and this Bakery. I recommend the canned Chipotle salsa.
I came for a couple of produce items and was disappointed. The mushrooms were slimey inside of their packaging and the salads were wilted and appeared to be dissolving in to reddish green liquid inside of the container. This store is a no go if you are trying to eat healthy. Cashier was quick and friendly and checkout was smooth
I love my Fiesta store which is close to my residence. I frequently shop there where the prices are very reasonable as well as customer service is excellent in the grocery department. I have had problems cashing payroll checks at their finance department in there though. I go for the groceries and sometimes clothing or hardware.
This store location is okay security guards are lazy always standing near the food area leading on packs of soda with their cell phone in their hands most be mean mugging customer instead of watching out for their customers well being while we being flagged down by homeless people begging for our hard earn money
Usually all others visited were great experience. But this location is filthy right fromTrevor very parking parking lot area. May be demographics, but never coming back here. Also, some prices like for example Ozarka brand bottled water was almost double of what same brand at other stores. Just left in disgust..
I found everything except meatballs. A Manager was walking by me & asked if I found everything I needed. I told him I couldn't find the frozen meatballs. He stopped what he was doing and took me straight to them. He didnt tell me where to find them He walked me straight to them. Now that's a Great Manager.
This store serving the Near Northside neighborhood is the orginal Fiesta store. It's been in business for almost fifty years. They have a nice selection of produce. Merchandise presentation is good. The only drawback is long checkout lines at times. This seems to be a common problem at some Fiesta stores.
The staff is kind, and the cashiers never lag at check out. They always welcome you and say thank you. My only issue is the produce section. I mainly go there for fruits and veggies, but Fiesta has a pretty awful produce section. The bags of salad are always brown. The produce just looks really rough.
I really dont stop at Fiesta due to high prices but good prices when it comes to meat & small deals I go to Fiesta to do my taxes there are the Alejandro Miller he's awesome and Mrs Janet if they are located at Quitman store I love my tax payers been with them for almost 5 years now❤ …
Fiesta, which means to celebrate in English is exactly what you're doing when you're shopping at Fiesta mart. Whether you're celebrating for the low prices or their different variety of baked breads. Whatever the reason be , I'm sure you'll agree a few minutes after you enter the store.
Some of the lunch meat is discolored and looks old. The regular meat selection is very slim . The workers were working hard but the store could use some improvements. The cashier Rosa was very professional and fast she definitely was doing a good job. They need more meat.
IBest fuel up for the body ever Had the tasty home made Caldo De Pollo came with rice and three tortillas and a Jarrito Great spot to eat for under $10.00 I ate at the Bar Cinco De Mayo ay 3pm María and Letty's smeyzzed shined brightly through the mask
3 separate times I have gone to this store for frozen food items like pizza rolls, frozen taquitos, etc but with the oven items this is the 3rd time I have received food poisoning from this specific location. I DO NOT RECOMMEND frozen dinner section.
They have a pretty descent selection,. Phone store, taco line, lottery machines. However I went in around dinner time, and they only had 4 check out lines up, so it took about 20 minutes to get my soda and frozen pizza in the 15 items or less lane.
As soon as you get close to the front door you can smell the stench. When you walk in the front door the stench is very strong. This is one of the stinkiest Fiesta's I've ever been to. I don't see how people buy food from here and eat it.
This fiesta need lotion on the food side we never got sick but it be stank like crazy one time I came in it something going the security guard was being held at knife point and he had pepper spray and kind of stuff help this place out
It's been helping us ever since I've been growing up and it's a market across the street I grew up going to school I'm going to Fiesta at the same time getting my lunch there and they got everything I need oh thank you
The selection in the foreign food section was limited, probably because it is not a large store. They were out of two items I wanted and didn't have an item I needed; but other than that, it was a good experience.
This place here has awesome employees. I go to fiesta for everything I need. Management is awesome. From Johnny to Manuel to the lady's that work in the morning. Great people. Been coming here for 7 years.
The meat quality improved since my last visit. Still kinda pricey for it being a fiesta. $7/lbs on regular fajita. Usually it's cheaper at Mi Tienda and it's already marinated. But fiesta was closer.
It does not have the selection other Fiesta stores have. They do not carry paper bags or an international section. The store is organized but has a district smell that reminds you of old mop water.
It's certainly not as modern or as nice as some of the other stores inside the loop in nicer areas, but if you live close by that's very convenient and they do have very good prices on everything
You know you can always get avocados at this place for less than anywhere else. They really need to start selling more vegan options here, we've deprived are poorest communities long enough.
One of three Fiesta stores near me. Knowing Spanish would be a plus when needing to interact with staff. This location stocks smoked pork chops at their meat counter. They are amazeballs.
I was disappointed in the selection of this particular fiesta. The asian section consisted of 1 shelf of noodles and a shelf with a few sauces. They didn't even carry datu puti vinegar.
During the day or afternoon it's packed. People don't know how to park or back up properly. I got hit while sitting in my truck in my parking spot and the stupid lady just drove off!
I can always find things that I need their yaks one of the employees then they're very polite and delight to help you I like going to that store fiesta Mart on Fulton and quitman
Fiesta Mart speaks for itself all the food and other products you need to find are always at Fiesta Mart I love this place friendly customers OnPoint Associates and management.
Over-run wilth homeless people, it's absolutely filthy ((see bathrooms) and management are condescending and rude. Additionally, the deli has nothing even remotely healthy.
Very upset after buying stuff to make christmas tamales wasn't able to afford to pay for cirn husks because they can't be paid with foodstamps anymore what next. SMH
Not happy with the flies coming out of the bolillo bread box. Overall the store is decent, needs a bit more improvement. The cashiers and management are pleasant.
Love this fiesta! Staple of my neighborhood. Prices little elevated but the only store to carry my deodorant. Not Walmart, not target, fiesta is only the place
Not for black ppl, customers push u and don't say excuse me. Meat lady won't acknowledge black ppl. Bleach your skin and come here for better service if black
Very close to my house to checkers to the managers , courtesy booth, deli ,even the guys in parking lot including security guard everyone is nice and helpful
I work here and it's a pretty good store to work at for my first job I'm 16 and it's amazing the managers are super cool and the taco stop is freak delicious
Staff is okay-- overall their over priced and dont carry most items you're probably generally use to. Once I also did see a roach crawling in the bread aisle
What a selection of seafood great food great prices hell you can even have jewelry repaired great produce great everything but always super packed
They helped me with my gift cards and treated me like a #1 customer. Great customer service. Manager Lynda and retailer Cynthia were awesome!!
It's terrible to go right now the resetting the whole store don't have two checkers right now it's not good trying to be shopping it's a mess
Nearly whatever you could possibly need is accessible, particularly if you're shopping for Mexican goods. It's spotless and well-stocked.
No pictures gup show because the food didn't last too long. The picadillo taco, Tacos DF and sausage and egg tacos were p'nche good!!!!
Expensive for items that you can get cheaper at other grocery stores. But commend them for staying in the lower income part's of town.
They make you have an ID to use your debit card Before someone stands in 1 if their 200 mile check out lines - it'd be nice to know.
Love this place. This spot was open during our winter storm. Thanks to all the dedicated workers God Bless Y'all …
It was ok. Just went in to use the bathroom and it was clean for the most part. We also bought a hot plate and it was good.
Almost everything you could need is available, especially if your looking for products from Mexico. Clean and well-stocked.
Quick moving lines. Friendly employees. Clean ladies room. Just be sure to bring a jacket. Extra cold all year round.
Not a huge variety to select from . store stinks crabs were dead with flies around them. Eeew. Prices are too high.
They always forget to put in one item always even after you ask everything’s in the bags and basket. ♂️ …
We are happy to have this store close to the house. Management is very friendly and helpful.
My daily. Love this place and it's customers. It lacks a lot of stuff but prices are great.
Very good at lieing when it comes to hiring, most of them are discrimination
I go to Fiesta a lot. They have some great potting soil, believe it or not.
Been shopping here for 10 years. Rough neighborhood. But good staff.
Very help full staff. Store is well organized and clean rest rooms
Some prices are high but others are normal. Clean store.
This place needs a serious cleaning
