Lived down the street for over 2 years. Had their Planeview sandwich the day I was moving in and still order it a few times every month! I order it with chicken instead of Turkey, warm and toasted. It’s the perfect sandwich! Unrivaled. The family does a wonderful job at taking care of the store, are all very kind, polite, and are easy to talk to. It’s a very clean shop that is well stocked with all your day to day needs. I’m so happy to be so close. There is another convenience store a block up the street but I seldom go there. First and Ivy is miles better, they accept card no matter price, allow dogs (and give treats), are much friendlier and keep their store cleaner! (: So thank you Team First & Ivy Market!

the market itself is great but ever since the deli closed their sandwiches have gone from a wide variety of delicious hot and cold sandwiches to moldy pre packages ham and cheese type sandwiches. they built this beautiful deli a few years back and now they’re using it worse than i use my own kitchen. it’s like they built this beautiful sports car and after a few laps around the track they handed the keys to an 85 year old woman with cataracts. would highly recommend the market for basic things like drinks and household items but would NOT recommend it for any food items at all unless they ever brought the deli back to what it was.

I have lived next to 1st and Ivy Market for 3 years, and they are easily one of the best markets not only in Banker's Hill, but in all of San Diego. From the owner Sam, to their 2 most dedicated employees, Mark and Stephen, they are always full of positive energy and have the best customer service. Their new food set up is really great! Pizza, breakfast, sandwiches, you name it they got it. Highly recommended for a great quick meal. Thanks for all of the hospitality!

For you food snobs who won't order food from a liquor store deli - try this one. I haven't had a bad meal yet. Sandwiches, burgers and pizza. Very reasonable prices especially considering the level of the food - I'm not joking. Pastrami was A+. Bleu Sweet burger also an A+. Pizza is great. They have slices as well as a full pie. They have breakfast asoas well. You can search the menu and place an order online! Give them a shot!

This is a straight hood landmark in this area... everyone that grew up in Woptown always walkd to 1st n Ivy to buy a brew or pick up sum munchies.. its gone thru a couple managment changes since back in the day but the current owners r pretty chill an they done a good job takin care of the place n updating it a lil... its right on top of the hill overlookin the downtown skyline the bay n the airport..gotta love it

1st and Ivy Market is such a hidden gem. The owners are so amazing and friendly. The food was top notch. We got the Buffalo chicken fries and planeview sandwich. AMAZING! The store also has so many options as far as alcohol, groceries, vapes, tobacco products. Everything very clean and organized. Most impressive little corner shop I’ve ever been in. Looking forward to trying a lot of the menu items in the future!

I have been going to 1st and Ivy market for over a year now and have nothing but good things to say about everybody there. They always have everything I need, and the food from the deli is amazing. From the perfectly cooked burgers to the crisp, fresh cold sandwiches you can't go wrong. Not to mention pizza by the slice which is super convenient. Great people, great food, great service!

This deli inside the 1st & Ivy liquor store is top notch. Love the airport concept and variety of options. Their sandwiches are a must try. The Runway is my favorite but you can't go wrong with any of them. I highly recommend stopping by and adding it to your list of hidden gem locations.

Local neighborhood market that is good to pick up quick incidentals, breakfast items or snacks, wine or other beverages. I haven't tried anything in their deli yet, but I have heard that it is pretty good. Street parking. Be careful if it's during the day when the meter person is around

Used to be my favorite sandwich in San Diego. Unfortunately, the quality has gone down and the price has gone way up. Used to be a MASSIVE sandwich that could feed two people. Now, 1 sandwich is barely enough to feed one person. Still tasty, but just way too expensive for what it is.

The food here is absolutely incredible. The pizza chef is from Italy and the burger chef is from Chile. They are subject matter experts in their craft. The establishment knows what the people want and that's great food at your convenience at a 1st class liquor store.

The blue sweet burger from the deli is one of the better burgers around. They’ve also got pizzas made fresh or slices to go. Amazing food coming out of this little liquor store. The family who owns it are great people and I’ve been going for years.

This place has amazing food! I just tried there classic and bodega burger, it was very good! Great bun, very good patty and the ranch is amazing. For a market store, they have amazing food. Defiantly will be having lunch here again!

They are VERY rude!! I live down the street from them and sometimes I have to go there and I HATE it!! They are always watching TV and don't pay attention to you until you say something!! DON'T GO THERE IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO!!

The food here is soooo good! So far, I have tried the burger and turkey sandwich and they where both amazing! Good quality meat and fresh ingredients. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Can't wait to go back!

Great place for sandwiches I love the new deli. Yesterday I had the bodega hamburger and it was amazing. It made me feel good and not over full. I used them for catering and I encourage all to have a meal here.
