I live in the NE heights so I usually go over here on Saturday to buy and stock up on meats. I went there a week ago and was at self checkout and a man named Leigh carded my neighbor and myself for buying wine coolers. We showed him our ID's and he goes on to say my friend a older man smells like alcohol. Well he doesn't even drink alcohol! He then says he refuses to sell it to me who was buying it anyway and says and you don't have to come back here as well. Of course at this point I was upset and said a few words to him.I pushed the cart out to leave and he said your not taking it without paying. Now he is accusing me of trying to steal. I went to the security guard and told him how this young man was acting. He then started video filming me until we left. I couldn't believe him! A total unprofessional kid who was trying to use his self checkout authority over false accusations. Not cool and unfortunately this will probably continue to happen if he's there. I was going to follow up to store manager but I never did. Everyone else is really friendly so that was my last experience!! Managers don't let the title of yourself get to your head!!️

I will never take my mom shopping here never again it was better when it was Lowe's at least Lowe's was in a rip off the state don't charge tax on food that's very great especially for the senior citizens but the store owner charges a 10%, now you tell me what other store does that for their employees whether you're paying with SNAP... I understand everybody's going through a hard time but that don't mean you should charge extra with the state don't get on taxes you think you're entitled to especially for the senior citizens that are barely making it and then you ask a worker some lady cashier middle-aged rude lady what the extra money was that they were taking and she said for the employees maybe I'll let the state know what they're doing ...

The worst in customer service, and the slowest. A couple came in first thing but had issues checking out, and with only 1 register open (and little knowledge about how to do transactions) both cashiers were confused and myself and two other people had to walk out, and I had a bus to catch. I live in this neighborhood but I won't be back here ever again. They may have upgraded the store to make it look nice- but I'll be damned if they ever actually tried training their staff properly. ALSO: they pre-wrapped a lot of the produce in plastic... Why? Its a waste of time and money.

Don't let the new name fool you. This store still sells expired/near expired, defective and deteriorated food products. Check those sell-by dates! Also, they impose an inexplicable 10% surcharge not advertised on the shelves. Poor service. You have to do it all yourself. No cashiers. Long lines and crowds of bunched up confused customers waiting at machines while registers are unattended, with products falling out of their arms because they have nothing to carry groceries with. No baskets. Prices are triple for same lousy food. Never have propane either.

Great place to shop. Staff is very friendly and the butcher is great. Food prices even with the ten percent surcharge are cheaper than other places. They don't have a lot o f different brands and sell mostly their own Food King but that's OK. Fruit and veggies are very nice and priced well. It was very busy the day I went there and yet it was a fast check out. You can check out yourself but they had enough cashiers that you didn't have to do it yourself. That alone is enough to keep me coming back.

Hard to give a true review of this location because the Lowes here was so horrible. BUT they have a great selection of local beer and cider (that's much broader than Smiths' selection) and they sell individual La Michoacanas so I'm pretty much satisfied. This is basically a great neighborhood grocery store & I'm super pleased it's here. Their produce is also quite good (although, again, I have horror stories about Lowes produce) which is a definite bonus. Plus the employees are always lovely!!

Outstanding meat prices. Since their recent opening, I have stocked my freezers with beef roast, ribs, & steaks. Pork & chops & chicken also at amazing prices. I belong to both Sam's & Costco's which can't beat Food King prices. Exceptionally clean & well organized store. Produce is fresh & often put on sale @ low, low prices. Staff is professional, friendly & always willing to help, even in self check out. My new favorite store!

I really like going here. They have name brand food but the shurfine brand is good and cheaper. The only thing I don't like that they do is charge an extra 10% on everything. I have absolutely no idea why they do this. They do give me 2 for 1 on the price of veggies. Which is good. I enjoy the people there and the meat isn't bad priced like some of the other grocery stores.

Now this store reminded me of the movie Animal House. I think John Belushi yells out " Food King" and they go shopping there and run into Dean Wermers wife and daughter inviting them to the toga party. I had never seen a food King before and just lost it. Plus they had a Wall o bargains. Great place! Really good prices !

I'm from the south and we have several of these stores there.. good old fashioned smoked sausage,summer sausage. Beef ribs great deals on everything. Friendly staff great service. Too bad it's only one. I have to drive almost 17 miles but for the savings and to get items I can't find anywhere else Is worth it. …

I have been shopping there since they opened. Was there today and asked for help to load up my car and without hesitation a staff member named SONNY was very polite and eager to help. He was just great totally awesome. You go there young man you have a promising future. Good luck .

This is the family grocery I've been looking for!! Parking wasn't an issue. Great produce. Some of the sale items were out, so I'll go earlier in the day next time. I went in the door hoping I could get most of the items on my list and stay between $60-$80. Total tab - $53.87 YAY!!

Hands down my favorite place to grocery shop in ABQ! They have some of the best prices I’ve seen in the country and you can get most things you could need from a supermarket. They also have a guard in the store who will venture to the parking lot if they are needed there.

What a wonderful little store!!! Clean, friendly people who are so very helpful and did I mention CLEAN! Good selection of items for a small place and the produce looked so good. The meats are fresh and look fabulous. I'll be back and maybe it'll be my new go to store.

This store has the feel of a mom n pop market. Staff are so helpful. I was so surprised when the guy from the meat department asked us if we needed any help. How rare is that! Only drawback is having to use the self-checkout because sometimes there are no checkers.

I don’t quite understand the 10% fee on food items. Why not post and charge the amount you’ll be paying. Nevertheless this is the only store (I’ve found) that carries these pickles. I get it’s new and the ad prices are great but I don’t understand the 10% fee.

I never had been to food king but once I was there I loved it ❤️I bought 2 Ribeyes for 20 dollars they have awesome prices I brought groceries that day and I have been back 2 times a week very clean and friendly store❤️❤️ …

about the only thing that mite be ok is checking out yorself. but even then you still have to wait...everything else sucks about this place.they dont have anything i used to get when it used to be furs...furs was way better.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences at this establishment. The store is always clean, great selection, and my favorite part - no crowds! The selections here also seem to be a tad bit cheaper than other competing stores.

They DO NOT cater to a wide variety of customers its as if the merchandise person is tunnel blind to one ethic group for this supermarket. No real organic selection. No Vegan products. I will only purchase GAS here.

We shop for staples there - like bread crumbs, corn meal, bread, beans, spices - the prices of Food Club brand are a lot less and quality is great. The people are so nice at the store and it's very clean.

Double check the dates on everything. Yesterday was my first time shopping here grabbed yogurt, yesterday April 18 and ate it on the 19 two bites didn't taste right and seen its expired on the 17.

Limited selections compared to Smith's but good prices on some good quality items. Produce a bit disappointing. Won't be our primary grocery but will patronize occasionally.

Food king is my neighborhood store, it's very convenient... prices fluctuate from one week to the next....there are lots of deals on the app. I recommend you download it...

Friendly, helpful, and efficient. Well stocked for basic conveniences of quick shopping without having to drive to a large chain box store.

Employees at checkout are the best I've encountered in years! Every time! It is a small store but has alot in it. The meat sells are great.

It's a nice lil corner store with the basics. The 10% fee on top of things is annoying but it still can be pretty equal to other places.

A little pricey. And they add a service fee to all purchases at checkout. The only advantage to it is it's right around the corner.

Close to my house so I stop here often, and it's honestly usually cheaper than big stores.
