I would rate this establishment with negative five stars if I had an option. I can't rate this business based on selection, cleanness, etc. since I have not shopped there for ages. But I would like to share with the community how disrespectful and inconsiderable the manager of the store is. I am talking about the manager whose shift was on July 2, 2018 between hours 9:00 Am and 5:00 PM in case this establishment has several managers. My father, who is approaching 90, was buying groceries that day, and unfortunately had to use the restroom. He asked the manger to make an exception and allow him to use the restroom. Looking at my father it is very obvious that he can't move rapidly, he is using a walker and oxygen, and the temperature was over 100 degrees. The "helpful" manager refused my father to use the restroom. Not by any means my father looks like a homeless or dirty person. He is an innocent old man who asked for a bathroom. My parents have been living in this neighborhood for a very long time, and are permanent customers of this store. Unfortunately, this is the only supermarket within reachable distance for my father. I would make everything possible to make sure that my parents would not bring any business to this supermarket. I also will make sure to meet this manager and person and ask a simple question: "Do you have parents? Do you think you are going to stay at the age and health conditions you are at today forever? Have you been brought up to respect elderly?" Or what is going on behind the doors if the manager refused an access to the restroom? Should you be buying groceries at the store that does not feel comfortable to show off its "back stage". If the local supermarket that gets all business from the local community does not help its members, how good is it?
I am no longer an employee of this establishment. But I have known the owners and the managers for many years. They are very concerned for their customers and are very courteous when dealing with issues or requests from such customers. Unfortunately there restrooms are located in their basement and are not easily accessible to a person who is 90 years old who's on oxygen who can hardly walk. There are concrete stairs and obstacles such as conveyor belts and inventory properly stored. And for that fact the liability that goes with the usage of that restroom for that particular person would be very high. I agree with their decision and I'm sorry your father had that dilemma but I stand with food Plus. As for any other issues about cleanliness or how they maintain there establishment I first hand see how meticulously they enhance the store daily. It is run very professional and I am not obligated to shop there but I do because of those facts I for mentioned. And I will continue to shop there for as long as they are open. Peter G. I really like this place. It’s hard to find good customer service from a supermarket in NYC. I’ve been here dozens of times and it’s consistently good. It’s neither red carpet nor reeks of pretentiousness like Whole Foods, but just decent folks making a living and helping out the community. You get that sense from top management to even the cashiers. You have Latino kids, Muslim ladies and they are all universally nice, not over the top but just nice...no NYC attitude, just normal people. There’s a deli clerk who can brush up on his customer service but that’s it. I’m just amazed at how this place has so many regular people working there, no crazies. The clientele is a different story but can’t fault establishment for that.
After being a LOYAL CUSTOMER for years I have to say I will NOT be shopping here any longer! The new manager is rude and no help at all with the rotten meat they sold me three weeks back . I’m a school student and I work two jobs and had no time to come and return the rotten meat when it stank up my fridge but when I did finally try to bring up the issue in the store he did nothing at all to fix this issue!!! You will NOT get my money any longer and it’s sad that I work in a high end supermarket and we would had never spoken to the customers the way he spoke to me and the way he handles the situation. No more shopping here and if you have customer service like his I’m sure the store will go out of business soon!!!
A bit dirty but but staff was very helpful. I like the variety that they have in the store. I personally do not play the lotto but if you did there is a section where you can buy lotto tickets and there's even a deli section. The staff is very helpful when it comes to you bringing your food to your house, they have a system where you of course give them a tip and you tell them where you live and they will deliver the food to your home. I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes, actually less to be checked out. In that way you can say they have fast service. And I know I've said it before but I will say it again the stuff is very nice and is very helpful.
I went to this supermarket and there was a promotion in the cereal of buy 2 for 4$ So ofc people would buy as many they want since there was no limits on the promotion sheet and the guy when we were going to billing he walked up to us told us in a rudely tone that “we know ya have a store and goin to resale it but my boss said you can’t get it more then 4 per member that too after getting all that work done, as a business man i also understands yo situation but first off we or our employees don’t talk to our customers like that and secondly if we put a promotion on any thing in our store then we put each details of how much and what’s the limit per member
When you say the issue I had could have been resolved in the store is not true. I am busy and I do not have time to wait for you to get off the phone and explain that the cashier was taking an exorbitant amount of time taking my money then giving back my change. How can that be resolved. Must I get out of line and wait even longer for you to tell the cashier to speed it up. That's a joke. Just train your staff to do better. To be quicker because no one wants to wait longer than they have to. Just provide great service then no has to report you on Google or the Better Business Bureau.
Poor customer service from cashiers. I think having self checkout would be preferable because then at least you won’t feel rushed and be panicking to pack your things. I requested to bags from the cashier but they didn’t hand it to me until after I paid for everything and nor did they bag anything for me which is fine but now I’m in a rush to pack all the items I purchased while they’re scanning the next persons item. Cashiers also make you feel very unwelcome as if you’re annoying them by being there. Apart from that the supermarket was clean and had a good selection of products.
Our experience with food plus is excellent. We find all variety of food here. Fruits and vegetables are fresh always. In this supermarket we can find all our required stuff and we save our time instead of visiting diffrent stores. As during covid 19 food plus is closed, we are badly missing this store. Please re-open it as soon as possible as we are feeling inconvenience going to far away stores temporarily to buy our stuff. Hopefully you will consider to reopen it as soon as possible on customers demand. Thanks Sadaf
It's a small neighborhood supermarket with free limited parking in the back. Got what you need for your everyday life. Flyers are not printed anymore. Prices are okay. They've been around since last century changing names several times. I first knew them as Keyfood. The plandemic restrictions are lifted. Well stocked. There are bottle refund/ recycling machines for plastic, glass and cans in the back parking lot. They accept cash, credit and debit cards, as well as SNAP,EBT, WIC.
Very clean, produce is very fresh & the store offer a hugh variety of everything you need. I have never been in a supermarket near my house which such friendly staff from the cashiers to the shelf stockers, Deli department, everyone was so helpful and cheerful. One of the managers "Johnny" always busy helping out the cashiers, so nice and friendly to all customers. You don't find too much managers like him. I would recommend my family n friends to shop this grocery store.
This local supermarket is the only one in a large area that serves a diverse community, including seniors, Chinese, Latino, Middle East, American. Lately they've been trying to cater more to their clientele. If you shop according to sales you can do well here, but if you really need an item the prices are high at times. The deli in back not too great. The produce and meats are ok but price and quality are better in local Chinese markets for those.
I come here to buy western ingredients when I’m too lazy to drive to Target and they almost always have everything I need. From buttermilk to toilet paper. But I’m mostly giving 5 stars because of the staff here. It can be stressful going grocery shopping with kids and I can have my hands full. I’ve had someone help me unload my cart at the register and they always offer to help put the items in my bag
Clean. Prices are reasonable. Definitely better than the prices in Manhattan. But look out for the sales on Friday. That's when the prices are very good. The fruit and veggies are usually pretty fresh. If you want fresh bagels and rolls, you have to get there first thing in the morning. Not sure if they still offer the fresh bagels because of COVID.
The meat is fairly a good selection. Better than Met Food not too far away, but not nearly as extensive as Western Beef. The produce is small, but good nonetheless. They have a decent grocery section. WAY better than Met Food. The dairy and the frozen are small. They share an aisle so you get half of what you would at a bigger supermarket.
Food Plus supermarket is the closest grocery store for many of the residents in the area. It is less than a 5min walk away from many apartment buildings in the area, as such, it can be crowded at times. Overall it has a decent variety of produce and all the products are reasonably priced. They do home delivery for orders $40 and more.
Been here several times. Wish more often sales promotions & cheaper milk selections. Clean and you can move your shopping cart around easily. Cashier line moves pretty fast and helpful. The diary & meet area, wish people work there at the meet counter are more friendlier.
I like this supermarket better than any other in flushing queens.. Best prices, great cashiers and workers there, they know how to treat customers, they are very helping here.. And better than keyfood by 164street fresh meadows.. I recommend this supermarket to anyone..
This is my second time going here. This market is close to my job, so it's super convenient when I want to pick up a few things on my way home. The prices are reasonable. Its clean and the cashiers are pretty nice. Two thumbs up!! …
Good grocery store, good customer service, clean establishment, nice deli department, prices are extremely high, everywhere you go prices have risen, but you especially notice it here, look for the weekly sales on their Instagram and website.
I live in an Asian community which I have adapted as far as grocery shopping. I love this store because it's still pretty close and has a little of everything. The staff are great and the store is very clean. The prices are pretty good too.
Friendly, inexpensive, fast check out. Caters to an ethic clientele from Central America, an Chinese . Very price concious customer base that excludes new and trendy foods as well as specialty goods, which tends to not be available here.
Good local neighborhood supermarket. Prices are high compared to the major chains but convenience makes it worth going there. It looks tired and needs renovation but it's close to home and I like to support the local merchants.
Great deals, great service, lines are long normally. The deals I see are like no other deals I've seen anywhere else. My family shops there for every grocery needs and if we ever move I hope there's another Food Plus there
I like how many different products they have. Price is good, plenty of options. But I am not a big fan of it because it is quite dirty and it smells, even it is winter now. I cannot imagine how it would be like in summer…
Our experience at food plus is ok , if ur looking for verities, freshness, good service, cleaness, parking for customers, then this is the place, though price wise, its very much high compared to other supermarkets.
Manager and staff are very co-operative. Store is always clean and organized. We find almost all groceries from food plus and it is fresh. We request to open food plus as soon as possible. We miss our supermarket.
Very well sorted out and organized supermarket, you can find almost everything you'll need for whatever reason or ocasion needed. The place is nice and clean all the time and the people are friendly and helpful.
The best market if you want really fresh meats and produce. The staff is friendly and get you out as quick as they can. Nobody likes waiting on line all day and they understand that. Sales are really good too.
the cold cut department is HORRIBLE they dont care. They keep touching there face and the white guy in charge is abolutely arrogant and mean. But over all the everything else is great
International grocery store in flushing NY, they have good variety of different kind of brand that usually changes. Fresh nice bagels early in the day. Good prices for the area.
Location is good, not too busy in the morning, the produces are not fresh, the meat Dept are not fresh, beware, some of the staff are nice but other are not, dirty facilities.
Not franchised supermarket but its service, price and product are superb. Friendly and well organized store. Fresh meat & deli too! Small but excellent! Strongly recommend!
Prices for the most part are way too high. Cashiers/Supervisors are only friendly towards certain customers. Unsure if this is race based however it sure seems that way.
It was great and cashier was so nice I wish i know his name he bagged everything for me and waited patiently for me to leave Jonny is always there if anyone needs help
Was my favorite supermarket when I used to live in flushing. Unlike many city markets its spacious inside and has a lot of discount deals going on almost every weekend
For a medium size neighborhood food store this place is very good Recently went through a cosmetic renovations more attractive space. Glad to have this store near me.
The supermarket offers lots of fresh produce and ethnic foods. .. however, it could use some cosmetics and a bigger variety of products like organic and health foods
made its prices very high ever since Met Food is gone on Bowne st and Sanford Ave... I have to shop from few different places each time I do food shopping.
It's a great supermarket, and it is a very short distance in my neighborhood, very close by to were i-live and very good for my food shopping needs. …
The food is fresh, the store is clean and service is very good and friendly. The prices are a little Manhattan high. But otherwise a good place to shop.
Great place to buy food. They have a small selection of organic foods which is good. Deli is great and they also make some amazing sandwiches.
The last surviving supermarket in the general area. Great service from the cashiers and a good selection of groceries and housekeeping items.
has a variety of things, it's what you expect from a supermarket except it has always been super clean every time i visit (unlike other ones)
Every section is neatly labelled and the quality of products is good.Additional discounts on few week days are an added bonus. …
One Star cost due to kinda expensive on milk and plenty of stuff. But wish this supermarket stay there forever. Memories are building..
Great vegetable selection. Always fresh and very affordable. Cash registers always on point. Rarely do I wait long at the cashiers.
Great local supermarket with a great deli for sandwiches and other good food one of flushing secret good food spots for sandwiches.
When ever i go to food plus, I'm always treated great, the store workers are polit and helpful, never had a rude experience there,
First time in this supermarket. The aisles were very spacious you did not feel cramped. Very well put together, courteous staff.
best place to buy fresh bread/loafs in the area highly recommend. Produce and meat is fresh only wish they sold hot fries chips
From the pictures in the "Reviews", the place looks real Clean and Neat, this is encouraging for me coming in as a new Neighbor
The butcher are pretty cool. I order low salt Turkey at the back most of the time. And the aisle, I would order wheat bread.
Very convenient for shopping, has a parking lot. Fruits and vegetables are not fresh compared to local Chinese shop here.
Very clean, employees at the deli are fantastic, food is very fresh, grocery items are neatly organized on the shelves
Good selection of foods. Spacious big Isles for shopping. Need security in back parking lot to get rid of undesirable.
Good deals! Always a pleasure to shop here... Love the reward points for being a loyal customer and shopping here!
Really agood store for ur daily needs.walking distance.Nice management.Good behavioral staff.Love this place.
Great Place to shop. Has everything you'll need. One of my favorite stores. I buy all my groceries from here.
My mom loves this place well she doesn't have alot options either but they have decent meat and products.
Store is very clean. Cashier are very friendly. Items are expensive. Service is good. Deli is very good.
It ok to shop there nice surroundings very clean. Not finding much for me but still shop there sometimes
Great market! Every staff here is really nice. And you will find items always have discount here!
Great every day prices and deli counter has some good salads, noodles, potato salad, egg salad, etc
Everything is more expensive than ever before, but we could still get good bread and teas here.
Went to use ATM and buy Tylenol PM. ATM was not plugged in and they don't sell Tylenol PM. SMH.
Decent selection of food items , prices are moderate, but did not have what I was looking for.
The place was well kept, neat and clean. The produce had a good deal on fruits and vegetables.
Overpriced supermarket. Ex) 1 gallon of Milk price almost $6 while other sells 3-4 dollars.
Not a great variety but they do have the essentials. Pricey compared to other supermarkets.
Good selection. Great prices and a very clean store. For the most part, staff is friendly
Very wide aisles for public distancing. Good selection of products, including cold cuts.
