Fantastic food. The flavor and quality were wonderful, truly 100% on par with the quality and taste I experienced when eating my way through Italy last summer. We came here because I was craving gluten free pasta, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that pizza on a cauliflower crust is also an option! I had the fettuccine sila and it was a light, mild sauce that exactly hit the spot to satisfy my craving. It’s not marked on the menus, but there are two gluten free desserts as well! I went for the chocolate mousse and loved it. The service was fast and wonderful, every interaction very friendly. We sat on the patio which was comfortable despite it being a bit of cold night. The only thing I didn’t love was the volume level: when it’s full, the inside seating area is much too loud to have a nice conversation. Otherwise, absolutely fantastic. I’m in Kanata regularly for business and Fratelli is at the top of my go-to list. I unreservedly recommend it!

We were seated pretty quickly which was nice but there seemed to be a fair bit of confusion about which tables were actually free and the wait time. Our waitress was nice but the service was really, really slow. It was our first time there so we didn’t know that we were supposed to get bread, olive oil, and balsamic at the table. Our waitress only realized after we had eaten gotten started on our mains and I had asked for balsamic. I wish we had asked for it sooner because we got a caprese salad to start with underripe tomatoes and no balsamic — it lacked flavour overall. The bread that we got was cold, not even room temp. I got the fettuccine sila which was too salty. My parents got the linguine pescatore which was not seasoned enough so a happy medium should’ve been achieved for these dishes. We got the Alessandro pizza which was soggy at the bottom. This was overall a disappointing experience. Service was extremely slow throughout and we were disappointed by the food. It was a Thursday night and the place was mostly full, but our waitress didn’t check on us that often and clearly missed a few things. Additionally, it was chilly on the top level where we were sitting with some kind of cold air blowing on us; my parents had to keep their jackets on the whole time. I think most home cooks could probably pull off these dishes with equal or more success, I wouldn’t come back here.

Wow, where to freaking begin? We were seated on an otherwise not busy Tuesday evening and it took over 10min for our waitress to even bring our menus. Another 10min passes and she finally comes back for our drink order — I ask if the cider’s local, and she says yes, it’s Ontario cider. She brings it over and it’s a ciderhouse called Angry Orchard; I don’t recognize it so I look it up, and sure enough it’s an American chain cider. The waitress doesn’t offer me anything else. She was rude and didn’t seem very ‘with it.’ The sausage in my husband’s pasta was cold, and there were large chunks of raw onion in it — not what was advertised. We would have asked for something else, but given it had taken 30min for our food to arrive, we didn’t want to wait further. Finally, we go to pay with a gift card we won at a Christmas party, and the waitress said “Oh you can’t use that here. Fratellis is a chain but the locations split up years ago.” Gift card had the same name and logo on it as Fratellis, and there’s only one website for their multiple locations. An absolute scam. I’m tempted to issue a chargeback on my card for the amount of misrepresentation that went on at this restaurant. Seriously, AVOID THIS PLACE unless you love slow service, undercooked raw produce, and getting scammed out of a meal.

We went to Fratelli Restaurant in Kanata to celebrate our daughter’s 15th birthday. We know this restaurant for its excellence, but in this special occasion everything was indeed beyond expectations! Awesome! We had the most delightful service ever, food was exquisite as always, and we enjoyed the lovely, charming, and pleasant atmosphere that characterizes this place. Our daughter, her 18 guests!! and us had a fantastic time over there. The staff made them feel like the grown-up teens they are and were nicely treated like well behaved young adults. Kudos to all the staff involved in making this plan come to a perfect fruition, from the booking with the help and guidance of Lauren M and Tanya, all the way through the Chef of course, and the kitchen staff, and our wonderful server Simone, whose kindness, experience, and professionalism managed the event so smoothly that she made us all feel relaxed from beginning to end. Words can’t describe how pleased we are. Thank you all at Fratelli Restaurant!!

Very meh. For the price, the food is very mediocre and very comparable to what I could prepare at home for 1/10th of the price. The bread at the table was cold and weirdly dense and moist for some reason?? My friends and I ordered a variety of pizzas and pastas to try and it was just meh. The food wasn’t terrible but we were all in disbelief that this quality of food was being served at what we thought was a “nice Italian restaurant ”. Nothing we ate made us want to go back again. My pasta dish lacked any distinct flavour and the chicken was over cooked. My dinner was underwhelming. With that being said, our server was very accommodating and provided an excellent service for the night. If you are an individual who enjoys comfort food and enjoys a basic uncomplicated meal, this might be the restaurant for you. For me, it was not worth the money.

Great place, casual but nice! The pasta was perfect, not too soft, not too hard. The sauce on my carbonara was well emulsified, flavorful and didn't fall into the trap of being overly salty. It had a good balance. The seafood linguini that my partner had was good as well. Mussels were huge! All the seafood was well cooked, nothing chewy or rubbery. The dessert portions were more then fair. The cheesecake was mild and light, and the raspberry coulis on the side was a great addition. The chocolate hazelnut gelato was good, in a good portion size and the hazelnuts were broken down to a good size. The cappuccino was well done also. It was a tasty dark roast that felt very Italian. Quick friendly and professional service that wasn't pushy.

I was there with 3 others expecting a pleasant dinning experience…it was but that. We had a reservations and still we had to wait 20 minutes I at the door close to the bar. Then the waitress was nice but mislead led us on protein dishes. The mussels were all empty so you are paying for empty shells in sauce, and the pasta was over cooked. Not at all what we expected given the reviews here. No one came out from the management staff to ask, we informed our waitress who just said sorry. The only thing that was good was the $60 bottle of wine. Don’t come here, I don’t recommend at all. It a nice ambiance but other than that overpriced pasta and poor customer service. East side Mario’s is better if I were to compare.

Stopped in for a business dinner and the round table booth setup worked well for our needs. It was busy but we could hear each other easily over the restaurant noise. The lighting was dim and there was no table candle so the menu was a bit of a challenge to read. There was no way we could read the specials off the chalkboard but the server described them so were ok! The caeser salad was 10/10 The smelts were fresh, crispy and on point. The pizza was thin crust and wood oven baked. The mushroom pasta dish was huge. The manager was a pro! Provided us with a drink on the house. Deal closer - we will be back! This used to be "the place to go". Have been going for decades. Went for lunch today - had the Shrimp linguine for $29. The shrimps were just that - the shrimpiest in size of the smallest category, and didn't even look like they were seasoned or cooked - just added to the sauce. Tasteless and bland. I'd prefer smaller number of well seasoned, grilled larger shrimp to the ones in today's entree. I ate one of them, that was it. Rubbery. The pasta itself was good though, sauce average. Service was average. Don't think I'll go back - places like Via Marzo have MUCH better food and service at the same price point. It's too bad - food used to be much better before and it's location was convenient.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary with Fratelli Kanata and ordered an amazing take out feast! We ordered the Caesar salad to start then shared a dish of Gnocchi Gorgonzola and the wood-fired Genoa pizza with grilled chicken, olives, roasted peppers, mozzarella, and pesto and finished off with White and Dark Chocolate Terrine consisting of dark chocolate terrine, white chocolate ganache, raspberry coulis. The food was magnificent and the personal service provided by Lauren made this an evening to remember. We highly recommend this fine dining restaurant for your next gastronomic experience!

A great Italian restaurant found in Kanata. They moved to this location, which is larger and better ambience. The decor blends together very well. They have a large bar, a main floor and smaller 2nd floor. We started with an order of calamari, which was perfectly cooked and good sized portion. We each had a pasta dish for our main, we were all not disappointed. Each dish was meaty, well cooked and sauced not over powering. I saw other tables ordering their pizza, which I will definitely order next time. Looked yummy. I had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert, oh boy that hit the spot. Pricing was fair, not extreme, it was worth it. Loved it. Going back soon.

Unfortunately, I have the displeasure to say I didn't get to experience the food that looks so delicious in all the pictures because of lack of service my group and I received. Not very welcoming from what felt like bc we were POC. The waitress was highly attentive to the rest of the customers. Just don't expect attentiveness or efficiency. My group and I spend time researching and reading reviews for a good Italian dine in spot in Ottawa. We were so enthusiastic to try it out but left underwhelmed. 30 minutes is a long time to not to be checked in on again. However we are willing to give the Westboro location a try next time.

The calamari was wrapped in a light and flaky tempura batter. It was just right, not overdone. The seafood pasta was delicious, with scallops, mussels and loads of crunchy shrimp. The server was friendly and helpful. I have eaten at Fratelli several times and have always enjoyed the experience. Good value for money is another reason to frequent this establishment.

Don’t come to this restaurant! Over priced for pasta when it costs $2 or $3 a box. When you order a pasta dish with chicken, you get only 2 or 3 little pieces of chicken so why are you paying $30??? We had reservations but still had to wait 35 minutes for our table. Manager never even came out to talk to our table regarding the complaints. Poor service from top management and I will never come back here. Shame on management. What do they pay you for?

Great service, and our waiter was very attentive. However, the dishes we ordered were flavourless. For example, the minestrone soup was like eating/drinking hot water with veggies and red food coloring. The pizza that I ordered was good, but the pasta that someone in our group ordered did not have any flavor and it seemed like it was from a package. I can not say enough about this place. This is our neighborhood go to restaurant or second home. We have tried everything on the menu. We have asked for variation to some of the dishes and they are always accommodating. The service is great. The quantity is most of the time too much. We may order an appetizer to share . On special occasions we even order a dessert to share. Just love their sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. My husband loves their thin crust pizzas and I gravitate to their seafood. There is no pleasing everyone but we sure love you!

first time eating here and the experience over all was great. Tania (manager) was also serving us and she was very pleasant and polite. food came out quick but the portions were so so, with the current market I am not surprised. the younger servers that greeted us weren't very polite, kind of set a poor tone once we first got in. I had my birthday dinner with my wife at Fratelli's in Kanata on the 8th of Dec. From the time we walked through the door to leaving we could not have asked for any better service and food. Everything was second to none. We each had pizza it was the best dough I have every had and the pizza tasted so Fresh it was unbelievably the best in all of Ottawa. It is very clear to me that the chiefs only use nothing but fresh ingredients. Our server Lauren was very professional, helpful and pleasant to talk to. Thank you for making my birthday a great day.

Not the same as my previous visits. Very loud for the type of food and restaurant it has been. Not a place if you want to sit down and have a calm conversation. You will be screaming all the time. Staff are friendly and nice as always. But they are stretched and putting less personal touch. And more surprising than all, my food was not good. Pasta felt it was cooked and microwaved (not saying it was, but had that rubbery chewy texture)

Ordered "Roberto" Pizza, which was supposed to be "mixed wild mushrooms/mozzarella/parmigiano/porcini mushroom/pancetta/black truffle oil. I love wild mushrooms and didn't mind paying the higher price. Unfortunately, what I got did not have a single wild mushroom on it - only the store bought champignons. Having picked/pickled/dried/prepared wild mushrooms, including porcini, I can tell a champignon from a porcini. When I complained, I was told that the pizza was prepared with a "paste or porcini mushooms". Yeah, right.

Wonderful restaurant! Very cozy ! Service was impeccable! Our waitress was so friendly and fun! Cocktails are delicious! Good staple items on the menu, and such a great atmosphere! Will defiantly go back! One thing I will say it gets a little warm in there since it is cozy, there are no ceiling fans so dress comfortably! And tiramisu could used more coffee! But I absolutely love it here and will defiantly come back!!!!

A friend and I ordered pizza during a recent visit. It was a very warm evening and they were having a problem with the wood fire stove in the kitchen. We had to return our pizza because the bottom was burned so the cook made another one for us. Same thing. He made a third pizza for us and it was perfect. Kudos to our server for explaining the situation and a big THANK YOU to the cook for persisting and giving us a pizza that lived up to the restaurant's high standards!

I've come here a couple times with my colleagues for team lunches and it never disappoints! I always love going to places where it's tough to make a decision on what to eat. The last time I tried the fettuccine sila, it's a must if you love wild mushrooms. I usually have difficulty eating too much pasta but I felt the portion was just perfect. On a previous visit I enjoyed the beet salad, a great option for something light. The service was friendly and fast.

We were extremely hungry by the time we got there, They served us bread until our orders were ready. I ordered the spinach pesto pasta. Mom had spaghetti and found a piece of wood from the wooden spoon in her dish. They made her a new one. the rest ordered different things. The food was good but to all of us was a little bit salty. The place was clean and the restrooms were fresh and clean as well. Service was great. And prices were reasonable.

Ordered the Smoked Salmon appetizer and Roasted Salmon entree. Both were outstanding. My group also ordered a margarita pizza and carpaccio appetizers and those too were very good. Great experience and would definitely return in the future.

Visited this place for the first time with 6 other friends at 10:15pm for drinks ! The server ( older guy) directed us to the bar , where we found not enough seats to Accor 7 people. This is our go to restaurant as it is locally owned, not a chain. We had the most lovely server Simone. She was knowledgeable, interested in us, funny and just made our dining more fun. So a great start. My spouse enjoyed the smoked salmon pizza and ate nearly the whole thing. I inhaled my favourite spaghetti pomodoro. I don’t know how they get the perfect texture with the sauce still hot. Delicious ! Highly recommend.

Excellent meal. We were a table of four, apps included mussels, zucchini and salads. Mains included chicken Marsala, salmon, seafood linguine and lasagna. Excellent wine selection and delightful dessert menu. The service was first rate. I would suggest making a reservation as this place fills up fast during the weekend!

The pizza was great, but the service is time consuming. Puts MENU ONLINE, but does not provide the Wi-Fi password, claiming that only employees can use it. Real nonsense. Puts an online menu but you can't use the internet of the house. I'm a tourist and I had to spend my internet data to access the menu. I only tipted because the employee is not to blame for this owner's policy.

Just a fantastic spot in Kanata (Ottawa), have been twice on trips to Ottawa and so far super consistent with service and food! Beet salad and Roberto pizza were excellent as always. Friend had the Gorgonzola Gnocchi and it was delicious. Great spot to grab dinner after a day shopping at the outlets!

Extremely overpriced, and I did not like the carbonara pasta at all. Plus the wait time was never ending. They charge like $2 for the chilli sauce which is free like everywhere else and comes with the food. Fratelli Westboro is so much better and I also learned, that the owner is different from the one of Fratelli Kanata. I would not recommend this place at all.

It was our first time at the Kanata location - Menu was slightly different but the taste was top-notch and did not disappoint! Super friendly staff and quick service despite how busy it was that night. I would recommend this place to any Italian cuisine lovers in the neighbourhood. Also can’t go wrong with their wine selection.

Good wood fire pizza restaurant located in Kanata. Specifically they have some combinations that really make them a place you would go back to for a specific topping. The inside is very nice and there is a little patio for when the weather is nice. I recommend the bianco pizzas as they are the most unique.

Great delicious food, fast and friendly service, would definitely recommend getting a reservation though.

Unacceptable and rude service. stopped to have a few drinks at the bar at 10 pm, one hour before closing (11 pm), they told us we can sit at the bar. As soon as we said we are 7 they told us the place is closed! I always order food from here but will not anymore.

Top notch restaurant! This is a place that obviously prides itself on quality food and service. From getting drink to bussing tables, the staff is attentive and thoughtful. And the food is really good too! Very authentic Italian dishes and the best pizza around.

Been a couple times and food is good. Young lady at bar Friday evening who works there and really drunk. Very unprofessional and ruined our night out.

Very busy, yet very on top of things. The food was delicious, we ordered the Margherita pizza, the Alessandro, and the Nutella pizza with strawberries and Gelato to go. Food was still warm when we got it home, and the traditional thin crust was amazing.

So good! The mushroom bruschetta among other things were delicious! Our server was super nice & we didn't even notice or care how long the wait was because the atmosphere was beautiful and it's a restaurant! I like to enjoy my time not rush it☺️

Food here is good overall. The pizzas not so great but the salad was good. Their cocktails are good. Ample seating space and ample parking available. For the pricing, I expected more, both the taste and the quantity.

Amazing food. Calamari was very good. Have not had Calamari this good in a while. The balsamic vinegar they serve with bread before dinner was aged very well.
