I recently had the displeasure of visiting a place that prides itself on its exclusive focus on the French language. It is essential for any establishment to cater to the needs and preferences of its diverse clientele. Unfortunately, this place failed to do so, leaving me feeling frustrated and excluded. First and foremost, the lack of staff who could communicate in English, German, or Luxembourgish was a significant drawback. As a person who does not speak French at all, I expected to encounter at least a few employees who could assist me in a language I am more comfortable with. Furthermore, the absence of any translated materials or signage was a major inconvenience. From menus to informational brochures, everything was exclusively in French. While I appreciate the establishment's dedication to the French language, it is crucial to recognize that not everyone visiting may be fluent in French. This lack of consideration made it difficult for me to understand the offerings, navigate the premises, or fully engage with the establishment's services. It felt as though I was an afterthought, and my needs as a non-French speaker. In conclusion, my experience at this language-limited establishment was frustrating and disappointing. The lack of staff proficient in languages other than French, absence of translated materials, unwelcoming atmosphere, and limited options for non-French speakers all contributed to a negative visit. But it’s like elsewhere in Luxembourg.

Sehr schlechter Kundendienst in der Uhrenabteilung. Meine Automatikuhr muss ich seit Juni alle 3 Tage manuell aufziehen obschon ich sie permanent trage. Das sei normal und richtig behauptet diese Abteilung. Galeries Lafayette weigert sich die Uhr an Seiko zu schicken obschon noch Garantie gewährt wird. Soviel Unkompetenz habe ich noch nicht erlebt. Wahrscheinlich weil Uhr nur 320 € gekostet hat wird man regelrecht abgefertigt. Antwort: 2 Damen hatten meine Beantstandung sehr auffällig nicht ernst genommen (sie müssten überprüfen ob ich recht habe).Ich bin sehr wohl in der Lage festzustellen dass meine Uhr ein Problem hat. Bei der Abholung hat mir eine Verkäuferin nach langer Diskussion unfreundlich vorgeschlagen die Uhr dann trotzdem einzuschicken. Es scheint Glückssache zu sein von wem man bedient wird. Das ist sehr unprofessionell und sowas darf nicht sein. Ich habe abgelehnt weil ich kein Vertrauen mehr habe. Fakt ist dass sie die Uhr in der Garantiezeit nur unter viel Druck zum Hersteller schicken. Nachtrag 30.3 2022: ein Juwelier aus Trier hat die Uhr ins Werk gesendet. Das Uhrwerk muss getauscht werden. Ich zahle 162 Euro.

Let me share some good and bad points about Lafayette. To start of with the bad points: - the shop lacks a proper nice ambiance, they should hire more people to do proper decoration - inconsistent treatment by Lafayette staff; you either get attended by a very attentive one or a very indifferent/rude one - not everyone speaks english and this can result in very awkward situations Good points: - Lafayette definitely enriches the shopping experience in Luxembourg as it has a wide range of choices available in one spot - some staff are very nice; i had to buy some perfume and was helped by a very nice, competent and professional lady who really put in alot of effort to help me and with a great smile! Also i liked it she spoke perfect English as this is definitely not always the case in other Luxembourgish shops. Don’t know her name but i think she said she had some cuban roots and she was so convincing that i made a Fidelity card with her :) they should hire more people like her as the staff makes or breaks a shop

Living nearby, I shop here fairly regularly and am part of the customer rewards programme. Today I visited to buy some beauty products and was treated very rudely by the security guard which was upsetting. He asked me to tie my wet umbrella up a bit more tightly, which I happily agreed to do. When I started to follow his directions, this wasn’t good enough for him and he rudely told me to move and do it right at the doorway between the security barrier and the door, for no real reason other than to boss me around. The way he was bossing me around was rude and unnecessary so I just left. I can only assume the treatment I received was due to anger built up towards other customers on his shift, but even so, I don’t expect to be treated like dirt just because of a wet umbrella.

I was visiting Luxembourg and I must say it is has a breathing landscape. So I was entering the shopping mall and coincidentally I noticed the Christian Dior Privee Collection. As I approached the Scents Monsieur Matten came up to me and offered his help. I mearly described what I was looking for and in an instant he nearly showed me the entire collection. He also "mixed" some of the scents together and I was very impressed! We talked for almost 30 minutes and during the entire sales advice he was very professional and I was feeling comfortable and perfectly welcomed! As a result it was no surprise that I purchased 2 wonderful recommended scents. I will definitely contact him for more fragrances!

Ich schwanke zwischen drei und vier Sternen. Die Galleries sind ein Ort, in dem merkt, dass das klassische Kaufhaus ein bisschen aus der Mode gekommen ist. Verglichen mit einem gut sortierten Kardtadt, mutet die Inszenierung der Verkaufsstände vergleichsweise improvisiert an, eher wie in einer Markthalle als in einem Kaufhaus, auch wenn es zentrale Kassen gibt. Kein schlechter Ort zum Stöbern, allerdings hochpreisig einerseits, zu wenig avantgardistisch andererseits. Schuhangebote gibt es keine, dafür aber Taschen und Zubehör. Alles in allem mit wenigen Abstrichen jedoch ein guter Ort für etwas betuchtere, eher konservative Kunden.

It's nice and all until you park on -4, and you take the elevator to the worst exit ever. People are just supposed to leave the elevator with a huge queue to pay for their parking ticket with the machine right in front of the elevators and a small 180cm hallway, hopefully you wont have a baby carriage because are people so rigid to even budge a mere centomer to allow you to pass.... The architect/s approving this disgraceful choice of architecture, that you'll only notice once you go through it, should been brought back to attention. Luxembourg is still building new buildings like only 50 folks and a few cows lives here...

The place and most of the sales persons are really ok , especially at Dior corner they are all amazing there, but that one cashier (first floor) was not pleasant at all and rude, saying rudely and loud so we can hear it clearly; to another employee that the "luxury bag" is ONLY for purchase over a certain amount (canot remember) wich I find very unprofessional being like that in front of customers, ... I don't care about her shopping bag it was just very rude, 10 minutes earlier my husband was upstairs buying some other things, the lady even showed us all the jewelry, the complete oposite

I made a very bad experience when I wished to return a scarf. All tickets were on it, it had not been worn but they told me that it was too much folded to be returned. One smelled on the never-used scarf and stated "you have worn it!"- no joke! She called her colleague and they lectured me in the most arrogant way and talked about me when I was just standing in front of them! After three checks (!!) when they could not find any trace of use, they accepted the return "on an exceptional basis". The customer is definetly not a king for them. Better by online, you spare this kind of discussion.

Wer so wie wir gerne die Häuser der Galeries Lafajette besucht und schon einige besucht hat, wird sich in Luxemburg Stadt etwas wundern. Das Gebäude von aussen passt zum Namen, als wir durch die Türen gegangen sind, haben wir uns erstmal angeschaut und über die innere Optik gewundert. Es ist ein "neues" Haus, aber sonnst natürlich alles wie gewohnt klasse. Und ja, es gibt auch hier ganz oben (6 Etage) ein Kafee mit Blicke über die Stadt. Wir wahren wieder gerne dort.

Great selection of clothing and accessories. The only negative is that the staff are not so well trained and seemingly are unable to escalate a client request or query up the chain and then they come over as extremely rude or intolerant or ignorant. Just call the manager next time, then we don't have do it for you. 3 occasions now which could have been avoided if they just admit they don't know and ask for help. "Sigh!!!"

I bought a product and didn’t receive -10% off even though I have their loyalty card and also a Sympass card. I noticed this only later in the receipt. They have made their customer service so unreachable that you cannot fill in a form without logging in or creating an account. Poor customer service. I think I will buy my certain favourites elsewhere with a great customer experience in future.

Durchweg negativ. Rabatte werden erst bei Nachfrage berücksichtigt obwohl sie ausgezeichnet sind. Personal ist viel vorhanden, aber oft unfähig. 30 Minuten um ein paar Socken zu kaufen waren mir zuviel. Heute ist einer verschwunden und kam nach 20 Minuten wieder. Qualität lässt zu wünschen übrig. Kein Vergleich zu anderen Filialen. Preise oft nicht gekennzeichnet. Alle wirken überfordert.

A Selfridges type of departmental store that is lovely to visit but pretty expensive. However good to have a wander through all the floor but particularly interesting is the rooftop garden and restaurant. From there you can see the whole of the City of Luxembourg which is great for taking photographs. Get the lift from the corner of the store to the top.

The shopping mall is spacious with elegant dresses all around. Each and Every section is being well maintained. The staff are friendly. Since I have no idea whether photography of the Mall is acceptable or not , I haven't clicked any pics. I was impressed mainly by the detailed sections of all the departments in the store.

Well never mind what’s available in the store. I was overwhelmed by perfume odors as soon as I stepped in the store, and then looked head to toe by pairs of painted employees, as was everyone else coming to shop. Customer service could be better as opposed to other Galleries Lafayette. I went to a caisse and was told that the colleague in the next caisse would attend to me, waited for 10mins only to be told by the other person that i can go to another corner of the store for the caisse. Really? Poor service.

It was a VERY pleasant surprise to see this grand mall in Luxembourg Center City where nothing like this existed the last time I was here 2 years ago. The anchor site is a French Department store. Quite awesome. Walking distance to hundreds of stores and eateries. Highly recommended.

Schönes Kaufhaus mit einer großen Auswahl an verschiedenen Marken und tollem Ambiente. An Wochenende legt hier auch ein DJ im Eingangsbereich auf. Hier kann man sehr gut Einkaufen gehen. Dieses Kaufhaus ist meines Erachtens, eines der Besten in Luxemburg.

I was not much impressed only ground floor is very good organized and has plenty of skincare, perfumes and makeup brands. I shopped Lancôme, Anya was very helpful and got what I needed. Hope next time find more varieties at clothing floors

Definitely NOT anything like the one in Paris - really a basic store without special brands. The first make up level is ok, but the other floors you can buy those brands anywhere. Horrible baby section. Overall, a bummer of a store.

They have a great selection of skin care products and women's clothing but basic for men's and shoes. Great place to stop by if you need to pick up cosmetics during your trip, they have every brand you can think of.

Das Kaufhaus ist sehr groß. Man findet dort extrem viele Marken, allerdings immer nur eine kleine Auswahl. In meinen Augen wäre an der Stelle weniger Marken mehr, dafür diese umfangreicher dargeboten.

Von der Dachterrasse kann man über Luxemburg sehen. Der Zugang ist kostenlos. Das Kaufhaus ist ein typisches Lafayette. Viel hochpreisige Sachen aber auch witzigen schnickschnack auf 5 Ebenen.

You have to wait infinitely for some staff member to show up in case you found something worth buying. I had to wait an hour to complete the process of buying a pair of boots for my wife!

Disappointing. Not like in Paris as sell some low end, boring brands. Staff also seem more interested in talking to each other rather than helping. Love the space - lots of potential!

It's spacious and pretty but I don't like the open plan of stores. Nice bags but could not find what I was looking for either for me or my husband. Overpriced for what it offers.
