One of the worst and rudest customer experiences dealing with one of the representatives from the 133 Danforth Avenue location over the phone. I placed an order over a week ago for an extra large bag of the Zignature Kangaroo protein dog food and only just received a call from the representative this morning telling me that the supplier is on backlog and i have to choose another protein (this is not an option as my dog is allergic to a lot of other proteins). I absolutely understand that suppliers may be unreliable and therefore leave GPF in a situation like this however the immediate aggressively defensive tone the represented used with me has resulted in me never purchasing from GPF again. I was "barked" at by the representative that I "had to pick a different protein" and when I said that that wasn't an option, she rudely said "well I can order you the smaller bag but you will loose out on your repeat purchase loyalty program because its a different size" and when I responded and asked if that could be altered considering the circumstances she said "no, its not our fault that this happened its the supplier". I responded by saying "well you're not really leaving me much choice" to which I again got the snappy aggressive response "no, its not our fault its our supplier". As I said earlier, I understand that businesses sometime have issues with their suppliers and I never once in the duration of the call disputed that, but if i'm buying a product from GPF as a consumer it's not my job to take up issue with their suppliers. Thats their job. And to be honest if I was spoken to with even the tiniest bit of an apologetic tone I wouldn't be upset, but this wasn't the case. I was bombarded with an aggressive, defensive tone that I simply cannot believe or stand for. It operates on a franchise model so no doubt nothing serious will be done about this. I for one am tired of being treated like businesses are doing us a favour by selling us their products, and then immediately trying to find other people to blame when something like this happens. The situation in this instance was forgivable, the way in which the representative spoke to me was not. DON'T STAND FOR IT!

Wondering what the staff are doing. Signs on the window say that if you didn't place a website order to call in. I was out walking with my kid and wanted to quickly grab some orchard grass for our bunny. I called, and in spite of seeing several staff milling about, nobody answered the phone, nor is there voicemail. Thankfully, a delivery person came up and I briefly spoke to someone (grey hair, glasses) asking what I want. I told her I wanted the orchard grass. She asked why I didn't place a phone or web order. I explained I literally just tried to, but nobody answered. Annoyed at the prospect, she said, "Hang on a minute." I waited, nobody came. Another customer came up to grab their order, and that's when another employee noticed me standing there. She (blonde curly hair, short) asked again why I hadn't placed an order over the phone. I again explained nobody answered, and that someone else had already gone for it (apparently). She then asked that I have a mask to approach the table. I explained that I hadn't planned on stopping, and was only out for a walk, so I didn't have a mask on me. (Please note: I am very pro mask and pro science!). I also offered to have her leave the bag at the table - blocking the entrance, by the way, as the method of curbside pickup, leaving me totally outside - and I would pay via tap through their window as their signage indicated. She said no way. The other customer, who was masked, offered to pass it to me (she seemed just as confused as I was). Again, the clerk said no. I want to support local, I really do. But it looks like the multinational conglomerate will offer me better service without the weird ignoring and lip. It's a shame too; we do want to support local.

ok the lady who owns this store is is out of her mind, and the other lady must be related to her because they look alike, both older with grey curly hair. one of the reasons i dont shop there is because of them. today i went to pick up kitty litter and i forgot my order #. when i got there i knocked on the door to get their attention it took quite some time for them to approach the door. they were acting like i was trying to harras them or bothering them. when she finally came to the door she was trying to find out why i was there but she had on a mask, and the door was locked so i had trouble hearing her. i raised my voice to she could here me and i told her i was there to pick up the pine litter pelits. she asked me what the order # was and i had forgotten it at home. she started rolling her eyes and shaking her head and then just walked away leaving me standing there. finally the other broad came over and the same nonsence from as well. all of a sudden she started to pray, hands folded and her mouthing words and i thought to myself what is she doing ! finally and as slow as she could be got the litter and i paid for it . i opened the door to take it and i said to her you know you are both really weird. i will never shop in there again

I'm gonna have to give Global Pet Foods on the Danforth 1 star. While I have shopped here for over a year now, each visit became less and less fun or positive. The older short haired manager is not friendly, not welcoming and pretty aggressive with the sanitization process upon entry. Guests look uncomfortable after being addressed by her. For such a large company they do not offer any delivery services nor can they refer you to a delivery service. When I asked, the old battle axe just snickered at me. Honestly, I don't want to give my business to Amazon and lugging 10 to 15 pounds of litter 5k away is no longer a viable option for me. They do not accept visa gift cards or cash. If you take a wrong step too close to her she will tell you to step back even though another person is literally brushing past you. Another awkward scenario experienced by a few guests. Nor does she always wear a mask while working on the floor at cashout. Sigh... I have taken my business elsewhere moving forward. Based on conversations with other pet owners in the neighborhood I am not the only one who is no longer pleased with Global Pet Foods. Good luck!

The employee who helped me (a young blonde man with piercings) was so kind, efficient and helpful! I had the order in my hand within minutes of me arriving and placing the call. They're doing curb side pickup flawlessly and fantastically! So happy and relieved to have such a wonderful store with such lovely employees in the neighbourhood. Support local! Thanks again! My dog won't go hungry tonight haha

Global pet foods offered to special order a cat food for me that my cat needs for her chronic renal failure. They said it would take about a week. I made the order and when I asked about the food a week later they said the owner hadn't put the order in to the supplier and they couldn't really say for certain when the order would be made. Now my cat is out of the food she needs, and I'm just going to order it online anyways - and I wasted a week. Very courteous polite staff, but the owner's lack of follow-through is very disappointing. I will buy from amazon from now on.

The staff are super knowledgeable not just about the products they stock (and products they don't stock / their competitors' brands), but also about pet care in general. You can tell that the staff here really love animals and know their stuff, and genuinely care about how to take care of their customers and their pets. Their prices are pretty good too; while some items may be higher in cost than at big-box stores, the quality is exponentially better. If you're in need of asking questions about your pet's food or health, I highly recommend this store!

I ordered a space pod (enclosure/hideaway for rats) online with them and they sold it. I was away so unfortunately I couldn't pick it up fast enough but they had no idea of the arrival of this product as well to coordinate picking this product up. The lady handled it poorly by just staring at me and said 'we can order you another one' No apology or anything. I was prepared to wait for the order to come in but they wernt prepared to wait for me to come pick it up. What horrible customer service.

I’ve found staff only at this location rude and not that knowledgeable of their products. I’ve shopped at this location with friends that have bought from them that also think the same. I was about to spend money there to buy some things I needed for my pet, but I decided to leave everything as I’d rather give my money at a different location where the owner and staff know the meaning of customer service and have a better knowledge of their products.

Global Pet Foods on Danforth is my go-to spot for our pet food needs, in particular for our two kittens, Mochi and Pocky. They have exceptionally knowledgeable and warm staff, along with a solid selection of pet food. They carry some particular brands (such as Farmina, which we're a big fan of) which you can't find elsewhere, including the big chains like Pet Valu or PetSmart. Would highly recommend it to pet owners!

I wish I could give your store a zero star! Thats how much your service worth! I emailed my order according to the instructions on the window. No one replied or showed up to take my order. Then I called the store and a lady answered. After I talked with her, she said "I don't understand your accent " alright how about my email? You couldn't understand my email's "accent"!!! I think you are just being racist!

This place has the worst customer service, rude unhelpful, don’t pick up there phones. Most of the time don’t have enough stuck on there shelves. It’s obviously they just don’t care to be even remotely interested in helping there customers. I will never shop here again and don’t recommend you do unless you want to ruin your day! Small wonders across the street is way better option.

I enjoy coming to this pet store. Lots of variety. I find the prices to be fair. Staff always greets me when I enter the door and ask if I need help with anything. Great service. I’ve been buying my cat the same wet food for years and it’s the same price at most stores including this one. People complaining about prices have to realize they are on the Danforth as well.

I've been shopping here for years. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, good brands of natural cat food, lots of choice, and new store location is large and well laid out. They are always prepared to order in for you when a particular flavor is out of stock, and they have a seniors' discount on the last Tuesday of each month.

Good selection and friendly staff, when I got my first rescue I got so much help from everyone here. Pet foods are all high quality and a great selection of treats and accessories. Most foods have loyalty points and pre-orders/specials are no problem. Great neighborhood pet store.

Did not have a positive customer service experience from the staff at Global. Ended up going down the street to Neo Paws and had an amazing experience from a knowledgeable and extremely helpful owner who I will recommend to everyone I know.

Staff are always friendly and very helpful. They have a variety of products to choose from. I some times buy homeopet cat sinus plus drops when she needs it and they always have it in stock. Other pet stores don't always carry them.

Spacious store with high-quality brands. As a rabbit owner, I appreciate that it carries Oxbow hay and pellets, which can be hard to find in stores that just focus on dogs and cats. The staff is friendly and helpful as well.

Prices are a bit high. As a senior, I appreciate the senior discount offered every month. I sometimes try out other pet food stores but always go back to this one. My dogs get showered with treats too here.
