Don’t come here if you want to be seen at your appointment time. I came in 2 weeks ago for a cleaning and I waited an hour in the chair just for the dentist to come in, tell me she thought I was being tended to, and then do a VERY fast cleaning that omitted any flossing. I was told to come back in 2 weeks for follow up. That was yesterday. After waiting 20 mins, I was told that the dentist was not in the office at my appointment time and asked if I wanted to go get a coffee and come back in an hour. While I understand that things happen, the 1-2 punch of the two VERY late appointments leads me to believe that this office doesn’t value its clients or their time. We could have very easily saved ourselves from this miserable experience by the front desk calling me 20 mins ahead of my appointment time to let me know that the doctor was en route but would be late. That would have given me the autonomy and the option to reschedule or come in a later, without having to waste the time spent getting there, sitting there, going back and forth with the hygienist about how I wasn’t going to wait another 35-40 mins for the dentist to arrive. When I explained that I was in the middle of my work day and had a meeting shortly (the appointment was supposed to be a 20 min one) she attempted to stall me and put me on the phone with the dentist to try and convince me to stay, at which point the dentist then told me it wasn’t a necessary appointment. Cool, thanks. It was necessary when you told me to come back in 2 weeks but not necessary enough for you to be there for it. All of this to say…. A phone call and a smidge of costumer service would be saved us all from this headache and from this review. While other people have had great experiences my personal one here has been truly sub-par.

I had the most horrendous experience with this so-called dentist! If I could give them zero stars, I would. They completely butchered my teeth, and I had to endure endless agony because of their incompetence. First of all, the staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional from the moment I walked in. They barely acknowledged my presence and made me wait for what felt like an eternity in a dirty and outdated waiting room. I should have known then that this was going to be a nightmare. When I finally got into the dentist's chair, it only got worse. The dentist seemed more interested in chatting with the assistant about their weekend plans than actually examining my teeth. They barely explained what they were doing, and it felt like they were rushing through the procedure. The real nightmare began after the so-called "treatment." My teeth looked worse than they did before! I had pain that was excruciating, and it lasted for days. I couldn't eat or sleep properly, and I had to take multiple days off work because of this disaster. I had to go back to this wretched place multiple times to get the mess they created fixed, and each visit was just as terrible as the first. It's clear that this dentist has no idea what they're doing and is only interested in taking my money. Save yourself the pain, both physically and mentally, and stay far away from this dentist. They are a disgrace to the profession, and I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy. Avoid at all costs!

Dr. Natalya has been my dentist for probably the last 2 years. And she makes a visit to the dentist almost enjoyable, if you can imagine that. She is such a lovely friendly person, always so upbeat and helpful. She is also an EXCELLENT dentist. Recently, I had a deep cleaning appointment. I had visions of what that would be like, and thought it must be an extremely painful process, as the name suggests even though she had assured me otherwise. And she was right. It was the most pain free process ever; in fact quite pleasant! 5 stars is not enough. I give her 5 stars +++!!! I look forward to the next one!! I also Highly Highly recommend Dr. Colin Young, who just recently removed 2 of my wisdom teeth. I'd been putting this off for quite a few years, and finally bit the bullet. I was so incredibly anxious just before the procedure, imagining my teeth being wrenched from my mouth!!! Dr. Young and his assistant Jennifer were so incredibly kind and patient, chatting with me, until I felt ready to go ahead. I cannot stress how much that helped me, and stopped me heading for the exit. The procedure itself was surprisingly painless, and didn't take long at all. He also called me the next day to check in and see how I was doing. I am so grateful to him for his kindness, expertise and patience. And a big thank you to Jennifer too. Also thank you to the front desk who are very professional and helpful. Golden Gate Dental is the place to go. Trust them not your imagination!

Dr. Komissarova and Golden Gate Dental have changed the way that I feel about my smile. I was referred to Golden Gate Dental via my orthodontist after my previous dentist sold their practice. I was in the middle of doing Invisalign and was considering cosmetic work after that so I went in for a consult. I could tell very quickly that Dr. Komissarova knows exactly what she is doing. In consults with other dentists at other practices, I was left feeling a bit unsure of what the steps would look like and if this would be the right dentist to do it - with Dr. Komissarova, I was sure this was the right choice. Moreover, of the other practices I got quotes from, Golden Gate Dental’s quote was the most affordable. Throughout multiple procedures, I was impressed with how professional (laid out steps clearly), thoughtful (told me her opinions and my options) and flexible (had me come in several times throughout the process to make small changes or fixes) she was. I cannot emphasize how happy I am with the outcome working with this team - it has truly been life changing. My experience was so good, that I very quickly switched over to Golden Gate Dental and Dr. Komissarova as my primary dentist going forward. If you’re thinking of making changes to your smile, especially as a young adult, I cannot recommend this practice enough - thank you!

My tooth was in a lot of pain for 2-3 days. Golden Gate Dental called me back first and we're wbke to squeeze me in. They confirmed I had an infection and gave me a quick referral and anti-biotics. The office was super clean and was upscale. The chair in which I sat had a built massage settings, so that was a bonus. Ended up having a tooth extraction and no matter who it is, there will be a certain level of pain afterwards. This is normal. I should know as it's my third one. Got stitches and bone graft, and some pain meds, and waited about 2 weeks for things to heal up. The day after I got that procedure done I got a phone call from Sonya to make sure I was doing ok. Follow up visit was all positive. Stitches came out ( a near religious experience ) and all was healed as it should be. Got my teeth all cleaned up while I was there and made a follow up appointment to get a bridge done. These guys do care a lot about their patients. I would recommend them...and that's coming from a guy scared of going to the dentist.

Great practice!! I just completed my initial visit to establish care. Was able to sched initial appt within a month & 2nd appt for filling within 3 weeks. And they are open on the weekend!! Staff were all pleasant. Dentist is clearly knowledgeable & excellent “bedside manner.” Seems like an honest practice— I did not at all get that ‘used car salesman‘ feeling— technology seemed up-to-date (but what do I know?) but they did not try to sell me on fancy extra— and unnecessary— technology ( we’ve all been to one of those practices). I should say that coming from a totally overbooked practice at a local academic medical center where it takes literally 6 mo. to get an appt & then day-of they cancel bc for some reason the doctor is not in the office, I did not expect much; however, the experience went beyond any expectation I could have had. my husband also goes here and has had a great experience as well. Highly recommend!!

It’s so hard to find a dentist you don’t dread seeing, but Dr. Natalya is that dentist. She and the entire staff at Golden Gate Dental are always so friendly, thorough and professional. Importantly, they do their job well. Dr. Natalya has never convinced me to get procedures I don’t need, nor have I left her office with more problems than I came in with. I trust her with my oral health, and I appreciate the TV stocked with movies to help distract me from the general discomfort of being in the dentist’s chair! I was so nervous to have my mouth open and exposed after 9 months of masking up and social distancing. But the team has taken all the precautions with air filters in the room, PPE, and and a suction machine to suck up ant vapor while they clean. Thanks for taking good care!

Thank you Dr. Young and Staff! You did an amazing job with my Crown and the 4 Cavities. For those looking for recommendation: A few weeks ago I had a crown job done here. Great job! And today, I had 4 feelings done, all in one day, and was worried about the pain. But Dr. Young was so gentle, careful, and steady with his hands that I hardly felt a thing. A surprisingly unexpected, and enjoyable experience I must say. He is an artist with a chisel! Top stars all around! Dental offices are always hit and miss. Many of them are in small offices with old equipment and antiquated design. Dr. Inessa Sosis’s office is the utmost opposite of most. Big open layout, bright airy design. The place is run extremely efficiently, but at the same time the staff is very friendly and after a while knows everyone as a first name basis. Dr. Sosis is one of the friendliest individuals you will meet. She is also one of the most straightforward dentists you will meet, will easily answer your questions and give you explanations if you want! Thanks Dr. Sosis for providing excellent care!

I have been a patient of Dr. Sossis since 1999, before she was in Golden gate dental, I followed this dentist, no matter where she was working. Golden gate dental is a culmination of her practice. I trust only this dentist and always get the best care of my life: from front office to the treatment experience... . Honesty, integrity, ethics and compassion are only a few words I use to describe my experience at the Golden gate dental. It means alot, coming from the former dental assistant and 20 years of work as a registered nurse.

I had such a positive experience, doing a dental check up & cleaning and a cavity filling with Dr.Young. He was gentle and made sure I understood every step of the process. Also for the office, the scheduling process was straightforward, and I was led to the office room immediately after arrival to the office. The only caveat is the parking -- it can be difficult to park around weekends since the office is right by GGP. There's no 'ample parking' as the website suggests, but that's just San Francisco.

As a foreigner, this is the first time I visit a dentist in the US for a routine check and cleaning, so I was quite nervous about it. The personnel in the front desk were really helpful from the start and took their time to explain everything regarding my insurance and how it worked. Dr. Young was very nice, honest and listened to all my concerns. He and his assistant were very careful during the procedure. Overall, I am very happy with the services provided and the attention. 5/5

Professional, clean, state of the art equipment and excellent communication from start to finish. Friendly office! Everyone listens and communicates what they are doing and I felt included in the process. Thoughtfully and throughly done work with cleaning, exams, x-rays, and fillings. Hadn’t gone to the dentist before Covid / moving to SF in 2019. 10/10 recommend: friendly staff, efficient, and straightforward. Golden Gate Dental is dental office of a completely different caliber! I've been a patient of Dr. Sosis for almost 11 years now. After having a lot of different dentist damage my teeth beyond recognition I had a problem trusting any dentist. When I was suggested to see Dr. Sosis I was worried that she will be as everyone else; however, she had managed to repair all of the damage and had been keeping them in a great shape ever since. Now my whole family are her patients, including our 8 year old, who is always very excited to go to Dr. Sosis.

They shouldn’t indicate themselves as providing emergency dental services. What they really mean is, if they have time in between appointments, they will take you. Good luck on the weekend when everyone schedules their appointments. I took my boyfriend there and he was in so much pain from a surfing accident, and they couldn’t have cared less. Golden gate dental, please update your website to avoid letting people down, especially when they need you.

GG Dental and doctor Sosis have been treating our family for about 8 years and we always had great experience. Today I had to get emergency treatment. Doctor Sosis or doctor Natalya were not available and I met doctor Yang for the first time. I am always skeptical about seeing a new doctor but doctor Yang after 5 min. made me feel that I am in good hands. I am very pleased with him been very attentive, thorough and courteous! I had a very good experience as a new patient at Golden Gate Dental. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful to get everything started. They took all Covid precautions very seriously and I felt super safe and comfortable. For the cleaning and check-up, Dr. Natalya Komissarova was excellent. She provided clear details and focused on areas to watch. I liked that they took pictures and pointed out specifics.

I’ve had many bad dental experiences (both unnecessary and bad work) before so am always weary trying out a new dentist. However, it was so easy to book an appointment (Zocdoc), they made sure I was approved and had the right forms filled out, and the dentist I saw (Dr. Young) was fantastic. He had a really great bedside manner, addressed my concerns, and was able to fix them the same day. Would recommend!

I had an appointment with Dr. Sosis for a tooth extraction. My wait time at the reception was no longer than 5 minutes, and once I was in the chair, Dr. Sosis showed extreme knowledge, excellent manners, and was extremely helpful to resolve all financial issues related to the service. I have a couple more appointments scheduled, and I feel very lucky to finally find MY dentist. Highly recommend Dr. Sosis.

After switching to GG dental, and having my second visit for deep cleaning. I will say that I love this place, and the people running it, are fast and extremely diligent. The overall experience for me personally has taken away the anxiety of the visit . Dr Young and his assistant are just awesome and wholesome people. Great experience. I really liked their setup here. The dentist is the one who cleans your teeth, not a hygienist like most other places! They also have a TV to distract you a little from their work. Seems a little bit more expensive than I've paid in the past, but that's to be expected in this City. Their dental equipment also seemed more modern than other dentists I have used.

Can one love a visit to the dentist? I just clicked that I loved it and it gives me pause.... Not sure if I can love a visit to the dentist but my experience at Golden Gate is always unexpectedly pleasant. I don't cringe before going to the dentist anymore. They are really good folks, know what they are doing and care. I will never go anywhere else for dental care. Period.

I’m a bit of a scaredy cat with the dentist and this place makes me feel comfortable and safe. I hadn’t been in a while and was worried about lectures but my dentist was kind and just gave me the facts and took care of everything I needed done. Everyone working here is helpful and friendly. Best dentists I've ever had! On top of top-of-the-line equipment they have massage chairs and a large selection of movies they let you choose while you get cleanings. I literally sat in a massage chair watching Blade Runner 2049 while getting a cleaning today. And strictly as dentists they are very knowledgable and gentle. I couldn't rate this place high enough!

I went as a new patient for a cleaning. Dr Spies is awesome! I liked that she explained what she was doing every step of the way clearly, and the cleaning she performed was the most comfortable (least painful) cleaning that I’ve done. The receptionists are also very clear in explaining to me the insurance coverage I have and the work that can be done.

Like everybody, I’m not fond of dentists. I had to go see them because I had a tooth in pain. Dr Komissarova took good care of me, always making sure I was confortable at any time and reassuring me on what had to be done. In the end, the work was on point, I didn’t feel any pain nor discomfort and I found the dentist where I’ll always return in SF!

It was a good experience starting with admin Sona, wait time and check in procedures were good. Dr Sosa was attentive to the work on my implant and created a temporary crown. Additionally Dr Sosa modified my bite guard to accommodate my crown which was much appreciated. Overall it was a great experience.

They are not even in my network but I go to them because the energy is so good there. They are kind, compassionate, and very responsive. Pleasantly surprised by their COVID safety measures. They have air filters in every room, require hand washing and mouth wash, and even a special vacuum in front of your face to suck up any vapor during cleaning. Friendly staff, modern equipment.

I’ve had great experiences here. I get routine cleaning twice yearly. It was one of the best cleanings I received and I’m always satisfied with how white & clean my teeth look afterwards. They work Saturdays which is great for my schedule.
