I had Afaf do my hair. The first cut was very nice so I decided to go back and get highlights done. I thought the highlights were nice in the front, however, my friend said..."you should look at the back of your head "....Afaf missed the whole back of my hair. I paid $147ish for full head highlights. When I went back about 4 months later, my hair was long enough to get the style I was looking for, shoulder length, all one length sides and back with basic straight blunt bangs and back. Afaf turned the hair around so I could not see and did an old style Pageboy ...she from the front to behind my ear straight across on one side, same on the other side with behind the ear a giant V shaped chunk taken out. I was striving for a shoulder length bob. I was so upset with the cut. Afaf said it looked nice, however it was not what I was looking for or wanting. A client having her hair coloured tried to clam me and she said "It looks nice". My photos show it it disgusting. When I called the owner to have a look and walked through the door, the owner's face showed how disgusting it looked. Owner did not much of anything to correct my hair as it was way tooooo short. Owner did not seem too concerned about my cut or how upset I was, however she kept repeating that I "really upset one of her clients when I was expressing my dissatisfaction in the salon"....I would also like to say that Afaf has very poor oral hygiene and the odor from her mouth would suggest she require dental care for Pyria. I would not recommend this salon at all. I would like to also say that when the owner took my coat, she placed it on the FLOOR when just to her side was an empty chair. I left with my coat covered in her dogs hair all over it. The whole salon could use a serious cleaning and dusting. Looked like it had not be cleaned in years. I will be reporting Afaf to the Hairdressers Licensing Board under Consumer Relations in Toronto, Ontario.

The hair styling, colour, and cut have always been fairly good but the management/owner is a horrible business woman. I had an appointment scheduled and they tried to contact me after the stylist recently quit and when they couldn’t reach me, I showed up for my appointment and they told me they couldn’t fit me in for the day anymore. Turns out they had the wrong number on file, despite speaking with me over the phone several times before. When I showed up and heard this news, the receptionist showed more empathy than the owner. All the senior staff are quitting, which also speaks volumes into how she runs the business. It is not worth the headache to book in for an appointment because you don’t know if the stylist will still be working there when you show up and they don’t have enough staff to fill the spaces. Would NOT recommend.

The most ignorant people I have ever encountered. My mother has been going there for years and I always call to book her appointments. I always go in to get gift cards for my mom because she loves the work Isabel does. But I swear I will never walk into this place or call again. I don’t know what the owner is thinking with the amount of rudeness and ignorance she exerts to people. The lack of customer service this place has is astonishing to me. Hair by nature is not the cheapest place to get hair done and let me tell you, you are definitely NOT getting what you pay for with this place. What a disappointment. It is truly as other people have said, “I remember walking into a salon where I was treated with respect, not ignorance”.

THIS PLACE IS AWFUL. ive been to this place before for my grade 8 graduation, even though that was over 10 years ago i still remember them not listening to my requests and messing up the hair style i had chosen and having to start again. i ended up leaving in tears. then i decided today to give them another chance and just CALL to talk to someone about colouring my hair. and WOW she was so rude, ive never been so offended as a potential customer. go to this place if you want the worst service and to be treated like crap. i hope this place shuts down it makes me think ancaster is full with rude, stuck up people. one star is too high of a rating for this place

Awful customer service. I went in to my shampoo and asked the receptionist, an older lady, for a specific shampoo - she didn't move from her chair, literally pointed at the product and then went back to her computer screen. After purchasing the product, she bags it, hands it to me and says "have a great day"... while staring at the computer screen. Not ONCE did she look at me directly. I understand if you are busy with another customer or in the middle of something important, but this lady wasn't. I've worked at hair studios before and this is not how you treat your clients. I won't be back there again.

Had a Great experience today !! I have done my hair cut with one of the most intelligent hair dresser Marrissa, she is excellent expert of hair cutting. No words for her talent. Entire staff are so co-operative, and The way they are welcome of the clients is superb. Moreover, Jennifer is the best she has done my eye brow, She has really very kind nature, it is really great experience in the salon. Would prefer everyone should go atleast once in a life.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

UNwelcomed ! Walked in and asked for a price menu, and the old grumpy lady immediately said no and kept nodding her head "no". And than said "printer isn't working". That was my first time there. Obviously if I am asking for a price menu than I am inquiring about your services.. She didn't even ask me what I wanted done or what I was interested in. Will definitely not be making an appointment and will be telling everyone about this.

Quite happy with the service. I used to go to tha Aveda salon on Dundas but all of the sudden they decided that they wanted your credit card number on file. Let me mention that in two years never missed an appointment or late to one. That is when I decided to try this place and I am quite happy. As a matter of fact the last time that I was there there were two other ladies there that had come to this salon for the same reason.

Receptionist is terrible, the attitude of staff to newer clientele is rude, I honestly don’t know how they stay afloat specifically with the pandemic.... there is a miasma of poor ownership pouring out the doors ... The positive reviews are false...friends etc ... should be sold to professional that thrive in customer service and gratitude... not highly technical either poorly trained .... don’t expect red carpet cuts

The receptionist is extremely rude and condescending on the phone every time I called to make an appointment. One time when I missed her call, and tried calling the store back. Her response was: you should have checked your message. Like I was totally wasting her time. She is the reason why I no longer go there. She is ok in person because she knows she is being watched.

This is one of the best hair salons around! The owner gives helpful advice and really cares about her clients. She always returns my messages and does her best to accommodate me. The stylists are all phenomenal. My mother is also a client and I must add that the attention and care they provide to my elderly mother is unmatched. I highly recommend Hair by Nature.

Went in yesterday to pick up some Aveda face cream. Looks like I had the same experience as others with the unwelcoming receptionist. I walked in with my baby, got a rude look and was quickly told that they don't sell that anymore. I love Aveda products and was looking to see if this salon may work. Definitely not.

Hair By Nature is my happy place. I always feel like a million dollars after an appointment, and that's largely due to my stylist, Chelsey. I can't say enough good things about her, she really is the best. The staff at the salon are always wonderful, and it creates a really great environment to be in.

Not satisfied with the service i am not going back to this rude customer service place I had my hair highlight done badly with Gabriella and i had to come again and fix it not with same hairstylist and it was ok but still the staff at the front desk and the new manager is very rude

I haven't even step foot in this place but called to book an updo and the lady who answered the phone cut me off and said they were book that day. She didn't even offer to put me on a cancellation list. I won't be calling back to book anything in the future.

Too expensive for a haircut. Rather visit empire in Ancaster or Eliegante on upper james. People here seem mad for some reason which ruins my experience. Might be good for a women's spa type situation, but I've heard from women it's extra expensive.

Come to this salon if you want to be listened to and treated with respect! The owner is very considerate and goes above and beyond to ensure their customers are well-taken care of. I've been a client for 15 years. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

When I botched an attempt at colouring my hair myself, they were fabulous at reassuring me and resurrecting my hair. I have been going there for years and I'm always happy with my cut and colour. Always a pleasant experience!
