A Fantastic Experience at Hardwood Tavern! I recently visited this amazing spot with my husband and son, and I must say it was an incredible evening! From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was inviting. The staff greeted us with smiles and made us feel right at home. The selection of alcohol is outstanding. Whether it’s a craft beer, wine or a cocktail, they have something for everyone. I was impressed by the wide variety of options on their menu, including unique and creative concoctions that showcased the bartenders' expertise. Speaking of the bartenders, they truly are masters of their craft. Not only do they mix amazing drinks, but they also engage with customers, providing recommendations and even sharing interesting stories. Their passion for mixology is evident, and it adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the overall experience. The ambiance at is top-notch. The interior design creates a cozy setting, perfect for both intimate conversations and larger gatherings. The lighting and music create a lively atmosphere without being too loud or overwhelming, allowing for comfortable conversations throughout the night. Another aspect that impressed me was the service. The bartenders were also our waitstaff. They were attentive and prompt, ensuring that we had everything we needed. Despite the bar being quite busy, they managed to make us feel like valued customers, going above and beyond to accommodate our requests. Special shout-out to Joe and Lettice!!! Lastly, I want to mention the delicious food!!!!!! We ate here two days in a row! The menu offers a diverse range of delectable bites. Overall, I can't recommend Harwood Tavern enough! It's the kind of place where you can unwind, enjoy fantastic drinks, indulge in great food, and have memorable conversations with friends. The staff's hospitality, impressive drink selection, inviting ambiance, and impeccable service truly make it a standout bar. Don't miss the chance to experience it for yourself—I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

I recently visited Harwood Tavern after a recommendation and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere struck a perfect balance between casual and inviting, with just the right level of energy for a relaxed meal out. I was particularly taken with their wings and brisket fries, which were absolutely delicious. When I ordered a drink on the rocks, the bartender went out of his way to find the exact drink I wanted, making my outdoor dining experience even more enjoyable. The service was exceptional as well; Eric, our server, was outstanding, adding to the charm of our post-game celebration. The tavern also offers great amenities like a pool table and happy hour specials, which I appreciated. It’s a fantastic spot for any meal, whether it’s brunch, lunch, dinner, or a late-night bite. I’ll definitely be returning and would recommend Harwood Tavern to anyone looking for great food and a warm ambiance in Dallas. Also the to go lunch specials are some of the best in downtown!

Don’t think of the 3 stars as bad, you should definitely eat here for a quick bite or if it’s near your job and your hungry. Food was good nothing crazy, feels like your eating at home comfortably. Price and portions matched, staff was very caring. It’s in downtown Dallas so I’m sure any busy worker there should definitely eat here, 1 star for caring staff 2 star for fast delivery of food to my table, cook was the flash back there by Himself so respect to him and 3 for good comfort food. 2 other stars mostly for aimed at restaurants wanting to be the best, This is comfort food spot, local. But definitely try out and support!

Decided to try this place out because it was nearby and I was hungry...oh and someone advised that I stop by. I must say we were pleasantly surprised. The moment you walk in, you feel the welcoming environment. You are treated like an old friend. The drinks were good and strong...enough TVs to keep you in know regardless of where you are sitting...and the food was AMAZING!!! We had an impossible burger and burrito sans the carne and both were sooooo good! As a matter of fact, this was the BEST Impossible burger I have had since becoming pescatarian. Again, I have to mention the friendliness of the staff. We felt completely at home! Needless to say, this is going to become one of our ‘haunts’!!!
Not quite what i was expecting in terms of ambiance, it was a bit more dive barish than I was expecting, but the staff and the menu were excellent. It seems this bar is a victim of its environment at some point, but regardless of the surrounding area, the patio still appears to be quite popular, this is definitely a local's hangout. I was impressed by the variety of the menu, even more impressed with the brisket sandwich! It appears regardless of where you are in Texas, the BBQ is top notch. The tater tots on the other hand are not worth trying, unless you're a fan of frozen tater tots. The staff are full of energy and very personable, this is a great place to hangout for a while. Cheers!
New place just opened few weeks ago. Friendly staff . Good food.fast service. And nice chill vibe and atmosphere. I love the tree when it's lit at night. It looks amazing outside. It makes the place stand out. The food is good . The chef is great and willing to work with us if there is something special ur interested in . Or a special occasion. The only thing I have to say that is little negative is the location . It's a new renovated area if downtown Dallas and close to a homeless shelter. So the few people u run into at night usually ask for change . But for the most part it's a safe area of downtown that's being renovated . I highly recommend this place . Great cocktails after dark.
The general manager insinuated that I was racist for asking him to turn down the music despite my not having referenced the genre of music being played nor the ethnicity of the people who chose the music on the jukebox. I was also told that he didn't appreciate my "aggressive" approach which, while I fully understand and respect his right to perceive things the way he does, I didn't appreciate as a patron who was frustrated at having to shout quite loudly across the table to have a conversation with my family. The food is mediocre fare that you can get at any cheap bar or pub, so if that's your thing, this is your place.

Horrible! I will never go back, I just left, I ordered the Harwood burger which was raw on the inside (all pink) and I asked for well done, he assured me it was well done, the fries were cold mind u he said 17min I live 3 min away so my food should have been hot wen I arrived to p/u. I also order a chicken sandwich which was also cold w/ cold fries. I didn't discover all this until I walked back home. I called and told them all he said was he was sorry. Horrible experience I do not recommend at all. And I was definitely hungry still is after not being able to eat a raw burger anything that's red in it is raw. I wouldn't go back here on my hungriest day.
I'm a simple man with simple pleasures. My top two are beer and darts and let me tell you... Finding an actual dartboard in Dallas was a MISSION! One that I was willing to accept! I went to a bunch of bars up and down the main downtown strip and finally found this diamond in the ruff! Beer was cheap and quick to be placed in my hand and the bar had a great vibe! Apologies for almost stabbing the bar staff as they walked close to my target. Ps. These were proper darts boards (albeit tired) not that soft tip nonsense boards that I see everywhere these days!

I ordered a single shot on the rocks of a specific drink and it was amazing because the bar tender took the time out to specifically look for my drink and I’m so happy. I sat outside and it’s nice and cozy. Despite the disturbance from the park across the stree, it was still very nice experience. Plus, I was on a tour with Taylor which made it even better because I got to hear about some history and old folks tales about this tavern as well. Go visit today.

Nice restaurant and sports bar. It was interesting that shortly after my friend and I sat down, the music got louder. I mean extremely loud. It may have been coincidental or it may have been we are older folks out to have a drink and watch the playoffs. Needless to say, we were out of there as soon as my drink glass was empty. The food was great. Customer service was spot on. She was at our table getting our food and drink orders almost immediately.

Was walking by and saw the large menu out front on their railing. Upon closer investigation we decided the items sounded quite appetizing. I’m so glad we stopped in. The staff and food are AMAZING! Delicious meal with everything they made. The pear pancakes, which this brief description does them no justice (like calling gold just a yellow metal), were so scrumptious I am tempted to make myself sick just to eat another one. I will most definitely come back here again when the opportunity presents itself again!!
There’s not to many sport bars or bars in the area so we came here. The staff was really nice, though and I was presently surprised by how good the drinks were. The staff was really nice as well! I was also happy with the brisket and fries! I really enjoyed the blue lights behind the liquors, it was a great environment touch, love it! The only thing I would suggest it a separate screen with a beer menu because we had to wait 5 minutes for the menu to come around between all the different slides.
Food was amazing, so was the waiters/bartenders, and their aesthetic. The only reason to why it was not five stars was the time it took for the food to come out. It's pretty slow so don't expect to not take a bit longer. Otherwise I would totally recommend this for if your just strolling around dallas.

We went as a group of 4 for lunch after seeing the Van Gogh exhibit a block away. Our server was friendly and prompt. The shaved ribeye sandwich was a hit with our group. I had the club sandwich, which was good. Sweet potato fries have a yummy cinnamon flavor. They have lots of TVs, so we were able to watch multiple football games at the same time. We will definitely go back when in the area.

Great tasting food all around, went there with two of my business partners and we all got different burgers. We came during a large company event and it looked like they were extremely understaffed. . . Ended up waiting close to 2 hours just to get our bill, and they ended up losing one of my partner's gift card that he used to pay. Guy on staff was kind enough to split half of the money in cash. Seems to be a great place though.
Visited during St Patrick's Day hoping for some Irish food but they just had regular bar food. There was 1 server that was also the bartender for the whole place. It wasn't too busy and she was able to manage it very well. We ordered a Modelo draft but it tasted like something different as if they did not flush the lines completely when changing the kegs, it was very gross. The food was ok and our overall experience was decent.
Well, didn't realize you wanted to be rated in the same category as fast food. I rate this establishment along the same lines as other taverns. I have been disappointed on several occasions with lack of service while sitting at the bar. Food has been inconsistent, even had to send a meal back. Since you responded I hope this can be taken as honest, constructive criticism. The possibility of greatness is in your reach :)
Menu has never disappointed, I'm consistently impressed with everything I order. Brisket sliders are my long time personal favorite, and the Brisket fries are a notable guilty pleasure. Excellent lowkey watering hole. Cocktails are perfectly balanced and delicious, many served in mason jars. Their handcrafted Margarita is especially bright and refreshing -- perfect for summer, and a must for any Margarita fan.
We stopped in on a Friday night on our arrival to Dallas. The bar appeared older but stocked well with current beers on tap, old favorites, many whiskeys and liquors. It was karaoke night and the place filled up with some locals that can sing some songs. We ordered food, wings and chicken sandwich. Both items were average. Joe and his staff provided great service. Even when they got busy, service was great.
Extremely disappointed with the treatment me and my friends got tonight not only did the bartender run up on us ID’ing us rudely but then here comes the general manager saying he has rules this that and the other. We went in there to have a gn not to start trouble. But ig they have a stigma with us Hispanics I will never visit this Tavern and advise any one that this place has terrible customer service.
Lettice is my favorite bartender. Her service and expertise keeps me coming back! This place is one of my favorite hang outs on game days and weekends. Stop by and tell her Shannon sent you!

This bar is so cool . It's dark, had a good, interesting mix of music playing, and there was a TV turned to a baseball game. We received a greeting immediately and had beers in hand fast. Why don't more businesses do this? Seems like the bar is loved by a good balance of both locals and curious tourists wanting to check out Downtown. We come to the area often and will definitely be back!
Loved it. We came in on a Sunday looking for some brunch before flying back home (our hotel was nearby) and this was a great decision. We were the only ones in the place for most of the meal, but all the staff was friendly and we meet the executive chef. The grilled cheese & bacon bloody Mary was really good. The shrimp and grits amazing. I'd recommend this place for food in a heartbeat.
Typical tavern food with a TexMex style, along with traditional pub fare. Great food and impressive drink menu. Service was great and I went with a large group.

The menu was very well put together, oh and the prime rib poutine was nothing short of amazing along with my next favorite of the shrimp & grits and I had to top it off with Brie Pancakes . The atmosphere was very calming, music was sure to please the service was amazing. Executive Chef Melissa out did herself Great job!!! Wonderful experience I will be back!
This place alone has been delightful. I came with a big group and who I believed to be the owners were so nice, even tho it was just two of them everyone was taken care of. Food was amazing, there was hardly any food left on people's plate. All in all, good craft beers, amazing atmosphere. I would come back here again.

We stopped in for a late lunch having walked by numerous times. We were drawn by the brunch menu, but this was when we could go. We both did the sandwich and soup combo special. The Irish grilled cheese and tomato basil was delicious. He had the BLT with the chicken yum yum, also delicious. The lemonade seemed home made. Very tasty. Would definitely come back
The brisket fries... omg. I'm seriously about to start making a weekly 3 hour drive from okc just to come back and get these fries. Tom and every other bartender at this place is super friendly and cool. Great spot downtown, I highly recommend. The Dallas blonde is also great

Walked in after a day at the farmers market, with no expectations. My mind was blown. The biggest nicest patio in downtown. The inside is very fancy as well. The wings are the best I've ever had. Get them lighly breaded! The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. The Moscow mules are delicious. This is a must stop if your in the area.
The drinks are excellent!!!!... however we were so looking forward Saturday night to the over the top delicious shrimp and poblano grits they used to serve. They no longer have the entrees so we settled for the fish tacos. Very little fish and it was barely warm. This place used to have awesome food. Wonder if ownership has changed
"Joe" the Manager needs a big sit down to chill-out. Comes off super aggressive when talking to customers at the bar and making assumptions. He should hear his tone back in a recording to see that is not acceptable in hospitality. Learn customer service and try to have a calmer and quieter approach with welcoming your guests.
Went on a Friday for Karaoke and it was amazing. The hide was great. The BAR staff were singing too. The DJ kept the party going. …. Drinks were A1 and the food was good too. Highly recommend karaoke night. …. Oh yea, the REGULARS made me feel right at home and want become a regular!!

The food here is AMAZING! Joe (the manager) suggested we try the shrimp and grits, they were by far the best shrimp and grits I've ever had. The service was great, drinks were great, Joe was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Overall, one of the best brunch experiences I've ever had. I will be back!
This is place is so great! Every time I have been here and have brought friends from out of town, it’s always been a great time and great crowd. The manager Joe is Supreme, when learned the industry I work in, he always introduces me to like minded people. Definitely a Dallas staple spot of great vibes!
Had to be one of the most welcoming bars I've been to in a long time. Joe was an excellent bartender who took care of everyone and kept up with the conversation and sports all the while keeping everyone's drinks filled. Everyone was super friendly. would recommend it to everyone and will be back soon.
It’s a tavern, not a poser bar. Dark, a little dank, with decent food. Outdoor seating was nice. I had some very good cheeseburger sliders. They use Bread & Butter pickles- I’m a dill pickle fan, but these were good. Nice, attentive service. Additional charge for using a credit card. ♂️ …
I had the Reuben and chilli. It was average at best. I tried to use the sink in the men's room to wash my hands. It didn't work. I had to use a paper towel to get the soap off my hands. All the floors are really dirty. The place is at 15% capacity maybe. They have plenty of time to clean.

Stopped in before going to the Lighthouse for the immersive Van Gogh exhibit. Great service, and amazing food. The brisket nachos with white queso cheese were excellent. The buttermilk breaded chicken sandwich is well bottomed with sweet horseradish pickles and topped with coleslaw.
Very happening spot to end up for the night. Even though it was late the food was still good sand the service was outstanding. I did see some people that were reserving some outside tables but it was just too cold for us that night. There was really no bad seats in the house.

I watched the world cup here. Great bartender! It was a small crowd at 9 am, and I wouldn't trade the atmosphere for anything. The cheers in the last 3 minutes were unreal. Food here is great too. Potatoes crispy, eggs were cooked well. No complaints for a Sunday morning
Atmosphere was laid back chill and enjoyable. They also sell food till 11:00pm which was delicious. DJ for the late night crowd is great. Bartenders are personable and friendly! Overall the only negative is the space to dance is so small, but everything else is so good!
Everything we ordered was great, the pretzel with dip, the street tacos, the meatloaf, and the butternut squash risotto. We were also given the dump cake to try as well and it was delicious. Pretty decent selection of beers, definitely open to going back for lunch.

The staff is friendly and the food is hearty, but they could use a little more seasoning. It doesn't take long to get served however in person or if you call in. The price is reasonable for the amount of food and compared to other establishments.
I enjoyed the atmosphere at this establishment. I knew they were short handed, but we still believe they did an outstanding job. If it wasn't for the private party we would have returned to end our night.. The brisket nachos are to die for! Enjoy
I always eat here and love the food. I really never had any problems except when I ordered 2 cheddar burgers it’s was dry, nasty no flavor at all no sauce. Im not sure what was going on but normally when I order the cheddar burger it’s delicious

Worst experience ever! I would give it a negative rating if I could. I don’t usually give ratings, but if you can, avoid going here. We were on a tour and the manager was condescending by speaking to us in Spanish as if we didn’t understand
Ugghhh. Do not come here. The food was good. The service, if you could even call it that, was honestly some of the worst and slowest I have ever experienced in my life. Nice girl, just not a lot going on upstairs. 10 minutes or more to get
Since The Elbow Room closed, there hasn't been a place to hang for drinks and brunch until now. The Harwood Tavern picks up where The Elbow Room left off! Brooke, my new favorite Bartender, made me a drink that wet my whistle and all I

Harwood Tavern is one of the best bars in Dallas with some of the best karaoke you’ll find. The service is outstanding and the food is excellent. Highly recommend stopping by for a drink and a meal here when you’re visiting downtown.
It's a down to earth dive tucked in a great spot! The staff are laid back and efficient. Only thing is I think I was told it was a Carolina Panthers bar. Doesn't matter the Bears fans will take over! Oh and karaoke on fridays! …
I’m super picky about bars and this place exceeds all expectations. Bartenders are me very attentive and Joe is an amazing mixologist. Would take family and friends there when I come to visit. They treat you like family.
Went on Sunday after the Cotton Bowl. From out of town and were looking to watch NFL games. Great staff , very friendly. Shania and Odie were awesome. Spent the whole day there. The brisket fries were fantastic as well.

Bartenders on Friday the 11th and Saturday the 12 were awesome. Friendly and professional. Best service I got bar shopping over the weekend. Wouldn't hesitate to return. Got a BLT and it was delicious too.

Great food, but not a great place to watch sports. A couple of dartboard and 1 pool table. The bartender (Julio) was excellent and handled a large crowd solo without keeping everyone waiting to long.
Very fast, friendly service. Plenty of seats available. Pool table for some fun. Setup for live entertainment. Fresh local beers on tap. Great mix of dive bar and sports restaurant. Will be back!
Great staff!!! Only reason this not 5 stars is because of the lack of the Sunday ticket for NFL games. Sunday bar crew is one of the best though!! Food is really good also!! Happy to update:)
Service was the best I have had in Dallas so far. Food was definitely above average, but the waiter was so good, fun, and funny that he will make you want to make this place a regular visit.

Food wasn't that great. I had ordered fried tender chicken it had no flavor.
Friendly staff. I had a delicious salad. Good variety of tap beers.
Food was decent but customer service was top.tier
