Our fourth major basement flood in three months - we couldn’t believe it. We were numb and emotionless when we discovered our hot water tank had drained all of its water in our basement, that was JUST repaired last week from the last flood. We contacted Hermes Plumbing to replace our hot water tank with a new one. Hermes was so compassionate and understanding to our story and immediately we felt that we were in good hands. He asked us to email him photos of the existing tank and pipes so that he could determine the supplies needed and repair costs. He said he could come the late the next day to make repairs. The next day rolls around and Hermes and his Team arrive early and gets to work immediately. They removed the old tank and installed the sparkling new hot water tank with ease and confidence. They cleaned up after themselves and took all the old materials away. Hermes even had a moment to have a look at our leaky toilet and provide advice on how to repair it. Our funds were already depleted from the repairs for our other floods, and we were pleased to hear about the variety of payment options that could work for us. Overall, we were impressed with Hermes professionalism, timeliness, compassion, knowledge and cleanliness. We will continue to contact Hermes Plumbing for any of our plumbing needs and will also recommend him to everyone we know.

I recently had Hermes Plumbing install a 4-piece acrylic shower surround in a basement bathroom. I had previously gutted the bathroom but there were a couple of challenges with the project. The drain did not line up with the new shower pan and the original framing was poorly done. The crew arrived on time and were on the job for about 4 hrs. They had to reposition the drain (drill mortar), remove some framing, and install a new drain and shower hardware (supplied). They also installed three shutoff valves for future sink/vanity and toilet. The cost was very reasonable but even more important, the quality of the work appears top notch. I wanted a plumber for this (as opposed to a renovation specialist who may or may not be an actual plumber) and finding one who installs surrounds was not an easy task (thanks to Mindy at Riteway Plumbing Shop for referring me to Hermes). I will be calling Hermes once I’m ready for vanity / toilet install and for all my future plumbing needs.

Hermes Plumbing and Heating Service Ltd has been my plumber of choice since 2018 and I recommend their services to all my friends and family as well. 5 years ago, my new bathroom which included a new stand up shower, new sink and new toilet was installed by Hermes. It was on my Facebook memories so that’s spurred this review. What I think is even more important, is 5 years later, it has never had a leak or any issue whatsoever and the craftsmanship and quality of work has stood the test of time. He’s also fixed our toilet in our rental unit in a timely and efficient manner and his team is there to coordinate projects and the communication is top notch. Hermes and his team went to fix my grandma’s leaky outdoor faucet and my grandma was so impressed with their timeliness, friendliness and quickness in getting the job done. Thank you for being a trusted company that’s always there to help.

We used Hermes Plumbing to do a full PolyB replacement throughout our entire house. We had another company in to do a quote and Hermes came in at $4000 less and quoted half the time to complete the job (2 days vs 4-5 days). From the first site visit, we were given a very realistic idea of what to expect with the repairs. Hermes was extremely thorough with explaining how they would replace the lines. Everybody involved in the job was professional and courteous. The job was completed on time, we received constant communication throughout, and we were provided a variety of options on what to do for some of the trickier areas. The plumbing lines in our furnace room are organized and look significantly better than they did before. We are extremely happy with all of the work that was completed! We have a few renovations to complete and we will definitely be calling Hermes back for them.

Firstly, the work was fine. I work in a trade and was expecting to pay when done but not how they work. "Shop will send an invoice in a few days." Guess will wait. Over week later, I phoned as a few days had passed. The price was reasonable. Now I find out, if I pay by Costco CIBC Mastercard, there is a surcharge. They want an e-transfer. I cannot easily drive to shop with cash as nobody is there typically. So I set up the online banking to do the transfer as cheaper than using my card. Time expensive for me. Not saying do not use. I am saying heads up as payment is awkward or pricey unless you know you need to pay online. Meh, the invoice had no interest rates for late payment so there is that. Edit: Bumped to 4 stars. I could have stayed at home to pay. Also time expensive. If you have cheques, you are good to go.

Recently used Hermes Plumbing and Heating for a basement renovation project. Quality workmanship, superb knowledge and amazing employees! Price was very reasonable for the work they did. I had another company in before and was not impressed, when Hermes and his crew left my house, my wife and I couldn't have been happier. They installed a new shower base, new HWT in a new location, hot/cold frost free hose bib on the exterior, roughed in a wet bar, re-routed a bunch of water lines and fixed our rocking toilet that we've been dealing with for years. All that in a days work! He had 3 very professional and courteous employees show up on time and work until the job was done. Don't make the same mistake I did and look for the cheapest price... call Hermes and get it done right the first time!

Hermes plumbing was excellent! Very professional from initial assessment and quote all the way through the replacement of the poly-B piping I had. Very clear communication. Quoted price matched the actual price of the job. Very thorough at bringing my house's plumbing up to code! Job was completed ahead of schedule. The staff were very friendly and had excellent integrity! (I could go on!!) As a new homeowner to the area i found it extremely helpful as Hermes went above and beyond to help me connect with additional contractors that I needed to help get my house up and running! Bottom line. I was extremely happy with the job Hermes plumbing did from start to finish and would recommend them to any with in need of a Poly-B piping replacement.

I liked how my initial contact with Iris at Hermes plumbing was about diagnosing the issue and sending pictures/videos of what was going on so that she new what to send the plumber with and how long they could anticipate being here. Everything felt very efficient and convenient for me. The plumber arrived and was friendly and had a nice sense of humour and came on my house tour of plumbing issues and then just fixed them one by one. I was also shocked by what felt like a VERY reasonable price for a couple hours of work and a few new parts. Hermes was recommended to be a work colleague and I have already recommended them to two other family members. A++ experience all around.

Just before Christmas, we noticed a leak coming from our hot water tank. Though not critical, we thought it best to seek the advice of a professional. We weren’t sure if this was an emergency that was going to fail outright and cause a flood or something that was able to wait. Hermes scheduled his team to come shortly thereafter. When I called Hermes to explain my situation about my kitchen faucet leaking while in the process of selling my home, he was very understanding and came to my house on a long weekend at no additional charge. I own a rental property and my tenants were concerned about a possible leak in their kitchen. I called Hermes Plumbing to help me troubleshoot this and they were able to accommodate me the very next morning! Hermes completed a thorough, non-invasive check of the suite and could not find any signs of an active leak. Definitely recommend without a doubt!! I called Hermes Plumbing Saturday morning because my shower would not shut off, the handle was broken and the only way to get the water off was to turn off the water to the whole house!! Now I have 2 cats, 2 dogs and kids - having the water off for more than a hour is just not an option! Hermes was able to come within 30 min, do the repair in 10 min and now works better than ever!!! We had very good service with Hermes Plumbing. The repair person (Horris) was very professional. Told him he didn't have to talk his boots/shoes off but he did anyway. He had 2 repairs to do, one joint leak in a ceiling and two a new value on a toilet. I found the finished work complete clean and so help full that the jobs were done efficiently. We thank Hermes.

Hermes sent a 2 man crew to re-do the washer drain line and include a laundry sink, along with revising the supply lines to both. The work was completed on time as promised. The crew were respectful and polite and knowledgeable. They cleaned up after themselves. Highly recommended and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
