I have only ordered takeout from here, but it's consistently wonderful. I live nearby, so it's my go-to Chinese, and I've never had anything but a wonderful experience picking up food or having it delivered. The staff is always friendly and they ALWAYS get my special instructions right!

We wanted inexpensive, but solid Chinese food, and decided to give Ho Ho Cherry House a try. I was apprehensive at first based on the Google reviews, though many of the poor ones are from some time ago (several years for some). I am very pleased to say I was surprised with how good this place is. We ordered takeout online through the Beyond Menu app. It's worth mentioning that, in this app, the average rating is 4.55 stars (out of 5). The food was indeed inexpensive, but the quality exceeded expectations, and as an unexpected bonus, there was a lot of it. The food was ready a little before the estimated time, so when I got there, I was in and out quickly. Further, the staff was very friendly. We'll be back, no question.

I impulsively ordered from here for my family and it was sooooooo disappointing. First of all, I called to ask about a menu item and the lady was rude. I still ordered. Got the food home, the rice was overcooked with not even half a piece of shrimp in it which is what I paid for. The egg rolls? Nasty. The honey chicken DISGUSTING. The sauce was pointless. No flavor whatsoever. Then! I ordered lemonade thinking I'd get a Styrofoam cup with some handmade lemonade like usual, we got minute made cans for that HUGE portion of NASTY food. I ordered the food close to quitting time so I figured that played a part but nevertheless, restaurants should be prepared to serve their best from open to close, no exceptions.

I’ve eaten a lot of Chinese food in my life. I used to live a half a mile from Chinatown in New York City so I didn’t really have high expectations but this might’ve been one of the worst Chinese takeouts I’ve ever had. I actually didn’t even eat everything. I gave it to my boyfriend. The fried rice was the only thing I could salvage with some soy sauce. I had the HoHo shrimp and I had the cold sesame noodles. Both had absolutely no taste and flavor. The shrimp might’ve been fried at one point and they were gummy. Even the vegetables were bad. How could that even be? It’s sad because I was hoping for a good local place.

Awful food. Went recently for spare ribs cause they were the only local place that served them and paid $10 for 4 of the smallest ribs I’ve ever seen (that were so torn up they looked like the dog had gotten to them first), dry as all get out, and served with prepackaged sweet baby rays bbq sauce. If we wanted southern bbq ribs, we could have gotten amazing ribs from any of the dozens of southern restaurants in the area…We went to a Chinese restaurant for CHINESE spare ribs! What a waste of money. 10/10 must miss

Love this place so much!! Customer service feels so welcoming. Food is amazing! Never disappoint!! Only Chinese restaurant I can eat at. Best Chinese Restaurant in Charlotte for sure! I bought the dinner size sesame chicken and chicken fried rice. The ratio of chicken to broccoli in the sesame chicken was ridiculous. There were maybe two or three sprouts and they are really taking short cuts on the chicken fried rice barely any chicken (very thinly sliced) or onion in there and no scallions or carrot in sight. I don’t feel you should charge $30 if you’re not gonna use all the ingredients! This place used to be good, but I guess Covid has made everybody lazy these days!

Update! Tried again a few times now, and last night the food was on point! Major improvements in the past few months! We eat here regularly, and we have had some great meals here. That being said, something has changed recently and the quality is not the same the past three or four weeks. Hope they get the new folks trained up if that's the issue. Well skip a couple of weeks then try again. Hoping for the best.

I've ordered day and night.. seems the food is better during lunch... Dinnertime >Wonton noodles for soup were stale, wonton soup was bitter & off-putting.. fried rice lacks flavor and typically dry with hard rice bits, protein (beef) was chewy & slimey, didn't taste freshly prepared at all & 1 just 1 pack of Soy sauce

I ordered 6 wings shrimp fried rice it’s was horrible for one they give you 3 wings chopped and charge for 6 in nyc if you order wings you get the whole wing , but it doesn’t stop there the fried rice is horrible gooey not cooked probably I will never eat here again clearly people in reviews never had real good Chinese food and picture shows I put food on plate barely could finish the rice it was terrible worst fried rice ever ! 0 rating if you ask me !

Typical eat in/ carry out Chinese restaurant. Prices are fair, and servings are HUGE. Service was adequate, they were attentive, just not happy. lol. Three stars because the bathroom was gross. There was no toilet paper in restroom. When I asked them to replace it, they had to search for the toilet paper and then the lady told me she’s not going to refill the dispenser right now, and just placed it on top. Not the best customer service with that one.

Food is always good but they have frequently forgot small items over and over. They’ve given me white rice when I ordered fried, or forgotten egg rolls, and other small things, but I keep giving them another chance and even though the food that is delivered is amazing, it’s been often wrong. I recommend it highly as only a pick up , not deliver , it will be wrong, but still yummy. The incorrect dishes have great some times but not what I ordered…

Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. Nothing was fresh. The sesame chicken was chewy, the fantail shrimp were extremely oily, greasy, soggy and they tasted like unflavored oil. The chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce with the fried rice tasted sooo bad. Lastly the wings and chicken egg rolls were unseasoned.

Have always liked ho ho cherry house unfortunately the last experience I had is going to be my last time ordering from this place. When I got my food I only had one egg drop soup when I ordered two and the crab Rangoon‘s were opened instead of pinched shut. I called and they were completely rude and you do not put quality into their food like they used to.

Me and my coworkers and family have been coming here for years. It is one of the best Chinese places in Charlotte. Keep up the good work! Not sure why there’s other negative reviews but I haven’t had a bad experience in all the years I’ve been coming here.

I've gotten takeout from this place twice and the food was just not good. I have a pretty strong stomach, but both times I couldn't finish my meal because it just made me nauseous.
