Los hutong son los callejones que forman el casco antiguo de la ciudad de Pekín. Muchas de estas callejuelas fueron construidas durante las dinastías Yuan, Ming y Qing. En estas calles, las casas tienen entradas estrechas y todas las habitaciones dan a un patio cuadrado, centro neurálgico de la vivienda.

This place is now "touristic", meaning the old heritage homes have been transformed into one big commercial area. The nostalgia of the past cultural and historical roots are now disappointingly lost and gone forever. The old Chinese roots are nowhere to be found!

I was disappointed. Not much to see here. Shows how old city looked like, but mostly walking in alleys. Cannot really see what homes look like, nor courtyard areas.

Esse tour de ricksaw poderia ser melhor se passasse por uma paisagem bonita ou interessante, tipo um lago por exemplo. O meu tour passou por ruelas sem graça.

It is very interesting to get shown around the Hutong to see how people used to live (and some still do). We took a rickshaw ride around it.

Much refreshed from 10 years ago. But still provides authentic perspective of living style for some.

Interesting but only a glimmer of the fascinating past.

The tour is worthwhile to get a sense of old Beijing.
