I like this Mall because there is free parking for 2 hours, cheap parking meters outside, bicycle locks outside, lots of security, really nice people who are at the stores to serve you and surprisingly some really good quality items ( depending on the store) as well as cheap things you can buy. So far, these are my favorite: 1. A super cute Cat Cafe on the top floor so you can go and pet all sorts of cats and im usually very allergic to cats and I couldn't believe that I was able to deal with it because it was soo clean and only till the end of the hour I had a little runny nose but it wasn't unbearable. This cat cafe made our day so special. 2. There is a big Japanese dollar store..yesterday I found eco-friendly paper large holed straws to make bubble tea for $2.99, and tnt doesn't even sell those, and they have cute socks for $2.99 ! 3. There is a really cool African store that sells authentic jewelry, clothes, wooden sculptures, black soap, and many items made in Africa. 4. If you need an emergency pair of beach sandles, there is a store that sells Birkenstocks and Native brand shoes. 5. There is a fast food ramen soup kiosk at the top floor where the cat cafe is, and it's really good quality too. 6. It's close by Costco and TNT ( across the street) and a Starbucks and a sushi restaurant just down the street that is really good too. 7. And it has a movie theater too! I've never been there yet, but I love watching movies at the theater. Also despite there is some poor people that are in the area and you may see them outside by the back of the mall and there they don't bother me or hurt me in anyway at all..they are humans too just like the rest of us people and if anything someone came up to me and gave me a really nice compliment and I just smiled and said thank you.
The International Village Mall is a neat little shopping center filled with small niche stores. Yokoyaya (now Oomomo) is a good-sized Japanese dollar store offering useful day-today items and Asian junk food and candy. There is a nice movie theater on the top floor that stream most of the latest movies. There are small vendors on floor level which offer fake jewelry, cheap phone accessories, and small plants. The food court is alright with small stalls serving Vietnamese, Chinese, and western cuisine. The Congee Noodle Delight restaurant serves one of the best wonton noodles in the city. Another good part of my experience was the free parking. The parking lot is a good size with average size parking spots. Unfortunately, the washrooms are extremely smelly and dirty. There are sometimes used needles found in washroom stalls. Drug addicts and homeless hang out right outside the East Pender Street and Taylor Street entrances.
Love the lay out of this place and the location makes it easy to get to . The cinema they have here is very nice and I always liked how it was Layed out. Only complaint I have is there is only one place to sit on the very upper level which is just ridiculous.. There security are super rude .. Even ignorant in most cases to the patrons of the mall. Also they don’t seem do do anything about the homeless people doing drugs on the stairs either which is sad if you want to take children here for an afternoon. Not very safe location.
It is an average sort of a mall. Maybe it was great at one point of time, maybe it is great by Vancouver standards because I really haven't visited any other malls in that city but I have been to malls in many cities in USA, India and I have also visited malls in Hongkong, Singapore, Bahrain and that was over twenty years ago and I am forced to say that this doesn't compare favourably with any of them. Food court was also fairly average but the Thai food we had wasn't very great.
I go there to shop at Rexall's and have a French Vanilla Latte at Starbucks. It's a beautiful little mall to shop at. There's an Optometrist and Eye glass store there and their services are excellent. I have used there business and I had a wonderful visit, the staff there are very kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for prompt service. The International Mall is definitely a must go see place.
It's pretty much a dead mall and it's in a very difficult neighbourhood. The food court used to have some good things but several of my favourites have closed down. I used to go to the movies here but haven't gone to watch anything here for ages now. It's all just kind of run down and sad. Unless you need a cheap phone case or something from the Japanese dollar store there's not much to recommend it.
An odd mal for sure, and the history of the mall and the social economic impact of the area around it is always a good story to be had outside of a review. That said, food court has alot of gems, as does the occasional specialty store inside the mall. Not a mall I would come to to just walk and window shop, but definately one you go to cus of certain shops in niche segments.
I am grateful this place is here, but I hope it recovers more from covid and gets some more useful stores to perk it up. Its got a movie theatre, food court, starbucks, nerdy games store, Cat cafe and an immunization clinic, along with some offices. It could use a grocery store and some stores selling basics. Two hours free parking for customers is good too.
only three stars because it is not as inviting as it once was - there are still many good shops and services - a nice food court with a good variety and the theatre but the main mall is uncomfortable and feels unwelcoming (opinion) this may be due to the overlapping and growing drug addict community but i don't know - when will this opioid crisis end...
We used to come here years ago for movies. We came back recently to check it out, as we were in the neighbourhood. Most stores were closed. The big Japanese store was open. It sells stationery, household cleaning and sewing products. It is not a lively place. Not very bright. I did not venture too far in and what ever I saw was clean.
I have never been at a public or private location where the bathrooms were as bad as they are here. Homeless camp in the men's washroom upstairs so I went down to the main floor where there was feces all over the place. Ownership should be ashamed. I also blame our NDP/Liberal government for the state of our province
A wonderful selection in the hot food bar - dim sum favorites by the kg were delicious. The sushi selections were fresh at a good price. Many types of Asian food products and an extensive assortment of fresh fish in that section. Some of the items to celebrate the "Year of the Pig" did not look so healthy! …
The parking here is free depending on what you're doing (running in for a few bits or attending a movie) but my god do you have to read a thousand signs to figure that out... And then hope you don't get a fine that you then have to call up to cancel ... Maybe you should create a better parking system.
This place is a dump. Majority of The stores inside are all useless, half are closed, food options are bad, lots of weird people and sketchy folks around the building and inside, washrooms by the food court are gross and homeless people camping in the stalls.
International Village Mall is a nice little shopping center where you can find stores like Yoko Yaya, Starbucks, McDonalds. Good selections of food on the second floor food court. Movie theater on the third floor. Free 2 hours parking underground.
This place has gone downhill so much. I got the hainanese laksa noodle soup. The pieces of chicken were extremely tiny and tasted really bland. The soup was barely alright, just salty. They charged $18 for this. Really would not recommend
Rexall drug store that provides you with almost anything that you need, especially if it is late. They are open at 8 until 10 at night 24/7. The prices are fair and a lot of sales all the time. The people are very helpful and friendly.
Addicts all over front and back. Last time I was there there was an addict bleeding all over the center court screaming and yelling as he'd just been punched out. Security is useless. The better part of the mall units are empty (not
There's a $1.00 plus store that's Korean I think. But the idems they have there are pretty cool and they have so much real day 2 day. Stuff, I really look forward to shopping there and for the negative reviews,I've gone to this mall
I was at the mall on Sunday. The mall was very quiet, not busy at all, no interesting store in the mall, except the Catfe on the 2nd floor where you can pet a cat while enjoying a cup of coffee. The food court is sad, mostly empty.
Decent little mall has pretty limited offerings when it comes to shopping and the food court, outside of Taco Time this primarily Asian cuisine which is understandable being its located in chinatown has a nice movie theater and a
Paid parking, mall felt old and dirty. Mens washrooms had homeless in stalls with their Carts and homeless walking around the mall. Very bad smell and bad vibe. Dryers also weren't working. Won't be coming back here anytime soon.
Gives off a “dying mall” vibe. A lot of the space inside is unused and kind of feels empty. Positives are a Cat Cafe on the second floor and the movie theatre that plays movies that you can’t find in bigger theatres sometimes.
I really like the mall. Lots of shops . It's never really crowded. Food fair is good lots to choose from. Public restrooms. Lots of free parking as well. If your bored there is a full size Movie Theater there as well
The international Village Mall is quiet and many stores have closed down. The only best thing about this mall is the food court. My only concerns would be the safety of the customers and how filthy the washrooms are.
An interesting place to stroll around. Not all units in the mall are occupied, and the ones that are can be highly eccentric, which can give it an agreeable post-apocalyptic feel. If you like that sort of thing.
It is located within Chinatown, and it is only a block away from the BC stadium. There’s a movie theatre located on the top of the international village mall. Also, there’s a two hour free underground parking.
Even thought there is nothing specifically special or significant here - the place is worth a brief visit. The International Village area lends a unique blend to Downtown Vancouver in a way only it can.
Great little mall. The Starbucks is awful. For some reason I really like this mall. I find it very friendly except for the Starbucks. This mall is clean and tidy. I am very comfortable when I am here.
Security sucks here, called them to report a possible auto theft and an Indian guy was like “i just want let you know you cant park there more than 2 hours” Scary.. At least try to care.. smh!
A few cell phone kiosks and that's about it during the day...the liquor store is definitely a crowd pleaser but the space seems dead most of the time save for the movie theatre upstairs.
A lot of drug influenced people around this mall and behaves very strange. It is should be a nice mall but sad to see a portion of business inside this mall are completely shutdown.
Not my cup of tea but a nice mall. They have some not bad food choices and interesting shops. My fav is the Korean Dollar type store. Spent an hour just looking at all the stuff.
I biked to the mall during my stay in Vancouver. The mall has a good reputation, though it has seen better days. It has a great layout, easy to find your way around in it.
This mall denied my trans friend access to the washroom. The washroom. A basic human right. Security removed her because her "voice was too deep". Shame on you!
People streaming in after Canuck’s win tonight 6/11/23 well after mall closing time with children. We were refused entry last week at 8pm. Discrimination much?
Walked around before we went upstairs to the theatre to see a movie. The selection in the food court was not great and many vacancies in the rest of the mall.
Unless you specifically want to go to Rain City games or the Catfe, I'd skip this mall. Most retail spaces are empty or are mobile phone repair shops
Very beautiful and very solid place to feel safe I like going there for sites and sound of the way people do shopping and the excitement in the air
Big mall but barely any shops? Felt wide and open space but it felt more like a space than a mall. Went to the Catfe, fun and adoptable kitties!
I picked up a really nice case for my Pixel 8 phone for $30 and there is a really good chinese food restaurant there and movie theatres
Nice place for shopping, food court, sinecomplex and public washroom. But be careful about bike parkiing with lock and keys.
International village is really 2 stars, with a one star bonus for Catfe and Raincity Games and another for being so weird.
Decent Mall! Minutes from Stadium China Town. Got lots of options for shopping (clothing and shoes) food court is not bad.
Nice architecture though hasn't ages all that well. It's got a historic, eerie vibe with a reasonable variety of stores.
The various individually-owned business esses are very charming, and we saw a good movie, The Persian Version.
Good mall with nice salons, has so much more potential to be a nicer mall tho. Washrooms avoid at all cost
Good place, a variety options for fast food. I try “U Pick We Grill” very healthy and delicious
A little difficult to leave after we watched a movie at the Cineplex, but it was a nice place.
Good place to grab a quick meal. A small selection of shops, nothing fancy. Cinema was good..
Cat cafe! Cineplex! EVERYTHING! This place is just perfect for everything I LOVE IT !!!!!!!
This place is so cool, they have almost everything there. Food is so good. …
Food wasn't great. Great location. Close to stadiums. Train and China town
Mall is ok. Terrible location. Too many drug addicts around.
