On a beautiful August day, my partner and I found ourselves wondering how to celebrate our anniversary. We decided to go down a not-so-traditional route in an attempt to avoid packed restaurants while still supporting local. Armed with a desire to for an outdoor picnic with good food, we went to the Italian super market on 20th ave in the NE. We walked around the shelves to get a feel for the place, then went to the deli counter at the back where we were greeted warmly by Cindy. Right away, she was eager to get to know us and our tastes. I have some knowledge of types of meats but have a hard time remembering names, so I pointed out a couple things I wanted to try. Cindy was able to get a feel for what we liked and suggested other options based on what we tried. Every time a new meat was sliced, at least 2 pieces were thrown onto the counter for us to sample. My husband isn’t a fan of strong cheeses, so she helped us pick a couple that pleased him but also played to my sense of adventure. By the time we had our many packages of meat and cheese, we were full from the generous samples. Next time we need a plethora of meats and cheeses, we know where to go. We also left with a bag of wonderfully fragrant espresso and a couple cans of san Marzano tomatoes for sauce making. I look forward to visiting them again for another flavourful adventure.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Italian Supermarket and was blown away by the incredible selection of authentic Italian products. From fresh produce to pasta, cheese, meats, authentic pizza and more, this supermarket truly has it all. The quality of the products is exceptional, and you can tell that everything is sourced with care and attention to detail and quality. I particularly loved the selection of imported Italian coffee and olive oils, which added a special touch to my home-cooked meals. The staff at the Italian Supermarket are also incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They were happy to answer all of my questions and offer recommendations, making my shopping experience all the more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend the Italian Supermarket to anyone who loves Italian food and culture. Whether you're looking for ingredients for a special recipe or just want to treat yourself to some delicious Italian treats, this supermarket has everything you need. It's a true gem in the heart of Calgary!

The most awesome store! They remember you and are so helpful. Great place to browse. This is how stores used to be at the deli they give you a sample of something to try and they will slice anything , even cheese & slice it properly too. And package it nicely. I’ve never had their pizza but I’ve heard it’s really good. The cappuccino is good . Fresh baked bread more than once a day .They used to have really really good hot food but I think the person who made it is has changed it’s still really popular. The only thing I can say is that there isn’t the same selection of frozen pasta that there used to be. And prices for some things have gotten outrageous being raised seven dollars for an item but that’s pretty much anywhere right now. They have a great selection of imported food. Don’t miss this store. Lots of parking.

We had stopped by with a list of general things we needed for a wine night and were asked by Cindy if we needed help, when we showed her what we were looking for she took us under her wing and filled our cart with amazing recommendations and took it from a few meats and cheeses to stunning combinations and an incredible experience. Mark was great making sure we were looked after as we checked out, even offering tips on where to get the one out a season item we were trying to find. I especially appreciate the gentleman customer behind me in line that insisted he carry my purchases to the car for me. Thank you for going above and beyond in every way possible and making us excited to come back.

Update June 18, 2022 ================== I tried the deli department today and what a pleasant surprise this was. Cindy educated me on some of the best cuts and allowed me to sample them before buying. She also made some great cheese recommendations and I can't wait to try all these out when I get home. I'm definitely visiting often. ================================== Huge selection of dry goods, super delicious fresh baked pastry items, and home made dishes such as chicken parmesan, lasagna, garlic toast etc... Very generous portions and super friendly staff. The wood fired oven pizza is beyond words...in a pleasant way. A must try. I'll be back!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this store and the staff. I popped in to pick up something for my husband's birthday dinner and all the staff went above and beyond for me to help. Needless to say, my husband and i were insanely impressed by everything, especially the fresh pasta and Alfredo sauce they made especially for us! The prices were also a pleasant surprise, and it was cheaper than I would have paid at a chain grocery store, but here it was home made. Thanks again for all your help and care. We will be back sooner than later!

This store was an amazing experience for my kids , As we were in our road trip and we had to stop for lunch , my boys picked this place . We first time shopping in here . We discovered it randomly while driving by . We ordered a pizza . The service was quick , the staff were kind and friendly .. the pizza was/is AMAZINGLY delicious! We all enjoyed it in the park , in a nice windy day . They sell raw honey too, very good price . It looks good . Highly recommend this store, And definitely we will stop by in our next trip .

We had a great experience with catering from the Italian Supermarket. The prices were fair and everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The service throughout the ordering process was 10/10, they even told us when we were ordering too much food, that kind of honesty is rare. We also had gluten free food ordered from a different vendor that cancelled on us at the last minute and Marco happily added a gluten free lasagna onto our order even though it was only a few hours notice. Thanks for the great service!

I would like to commend this establishment for such a superior place of business. They have really good quality products and great food. All the employee's are very knowledgeable and friendly, and Cindy in the deli really pushes it over the top. Her friendliness, competence and expertise reflect the epitome of customer service. My wife and I always come away from there with the feeling that we just visited family. Thank you Marco and Cindy and everyone else for providing such an excellent shopping experience.

If you want authentic Italian, this is it! This is a family run business that really prides themselves in getting good product out to their customers. My family loves to shop here, whether it’s for dinner ingredients or just grabbing a pizza for lunch. We always get our events catered by them (whether it be birthdays, parties, or even a wedding!) and the food is amazing, extremely well priced and amazing portions. Love this place!

You can also eat in a good supermarket. The parking lot is a little smaller and you have to look around for a space during rush hour. But when you enter the supermarket, you can start enjoying authentic Italian food. Freshly baked pizza and other Italian foods, with a cup of fine foam coffee, can start to enjoy the food. The price is not expensive and the food tastes good, which is probably the reason why the parking lot is full.

Stop in for sandwiches, pizza, a small sitting area is available for inside eating. Deli at rear. Parking available in front. Wide selection of product including olives, pasta, coffee, etc. as well as specialty items - a source to check when you don't know where to find that certain _____. This store has a family feel, many regulars and the staff know them by name which gives this a great local atmosphere.

Wonderful place. Staff are wonderfully positive, authentic, engaging, and helpful. Lots of regulars and familiar faces once you go a few times. They will remember you. Good range of Products that have been nicely updated over the last year or two. Pizza is amazing. Whoever's running it now has certainly made a difference. Was there this morning and it was closed. I didn’t realize it opened at 9:00am as i walked in looking for my morning latte. I have been going there for years and it has always been friendly but this morning the gentleman was happy to meet my latte needs even as he was busy getting the store opened. Hard to find service like that anymore so happy to see it still is happening!

Visited the market on my way home from work, market was moderately busy. We walked in and the place smelled of fresh baked pasta (yum!!). The place was clean, well stocked shelves and the staff was all very friendly. The deli meat lady recommended the house made lasagna. Made sure I knew the baking instructions before I left. Best lasagna ever!!! Will definitely be back!

A true family run business, and the heart of a community, they always make us feel welcome. Affordable and well stocked, they have a lot of variety, amazing pizza, fantastic sandwiches and an excellent variety of meats olives and cheeses. We are there weekly for eggs, sausage and fresh baked ciabatta.

I love this little store ! Marco and his family are doing amazing job running this store , they are friendly and they have amazing quality product . I love coming here for my morning coffee and my day off and in the summer time my dog is welcome to sit on their little patio . Well done guys !

Hands down the greatest Italian market in Calgary. They're ready. Meals are to die for. The staff is all incredibly friendly and have an obvious and admirable passion for their work. The pizza cooked in the fire oven.. is a 10 out of 10. And the cute Italian guy Making the pizzas is also a 10

I ordered catering for roughly 20 people for a family dinner. We had penne, lemon chicken, sausages, salad and charcuterie. Everything was absolutely amazing and beautiful!! Everyone was raving about the lemon chicken. The prices and staff friendliness cannot be beat. Highly recommend.

Amazing customer service. Marco went out of his way to help us with a product that was no longer working. He was able to get us an even better model than we previously had. He was so kind and friendly, he definitely gained a life long customer and would recommend this shop to anyone.

My husband and I had a great time there, bought some meat slices d as f bread and sat down in the seating area with a cup of coffee. It was just comforting knowing that there is a homely place outside of our home. The owner/manager was very delightful to talk to as well.

We highly recommend the Italian supermarket for work lunches! I was in a pinch and the team at Italian supermarket saved me! The selection of baguettes (sandwiches) were delicious and the pasta was very very nice! Obviously the Italian dessert tray went down a treat!

It's my favorite coffee place in the afternoon. They have a very nice kitchen, foods are great , fresh brew coffee, pasta, pizzza baked by brick oven, dessert, lots of Italian folks enjoy their lunches in the store Beautiful life moments you can catche in the store.

When talking about Italian food, the first thing that comes to mind is the freshness of that food. This is a place where you can get to know the freshness of food. Just try once. I tried the meatball with pasta, it took me straight to Italy. that was perfect .

A great small Italian market. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to find everything we needed for an at home pizza night. They had covid safety measures in place and still accept reusable grocery bags.
