I am genuinely concerned at how many people came on here to praise their bland, tasteless food. When I visited Kal’s diner I was greeted with dirty tables and floors as well as a weird smell in the air. I have it a chance and I really should’ve left on entry. There is a few things I found unpleasant about my visit. I mentioned cleanliness so I won’t again but the other stuff is food quality and service. My food was unseasoned, bland and just poor quality. The “Homefries” are mushy and gross and my food was cold. As for service the two waitresses that look like mother and daughter I think one was named Alyssa(she was our server) were horrible. I saw the “mother” put on overbearing fake friendliness and be minimalist kind to people coming in and the daughter barely spoke or checked in. I did overhear some conversations between the mother and daughter and have never been so disgusted in my life. These waitresses were talking about people like garbage and saying things that came off as extremely racist, rude and inconclusive. After my horrid experience I didn’t some asking around and from multiple sources found nothing but dirt on these two. Do not go here they ruined my experience!

A nice little chill place; not as busy as other eateries. The most remarkable thing for me was the portion sizes! Additionally, unlike other places we've been too, here you get to choose 2 sides with your meal :-). Absolute value for money. They have an excellent kids menu at unbeatable prices. Food was mostly ok apart from my salad; bacon was hard. Loved that though we didn't have to wait too long to get our freshly done meals. Not too much in terms of ambience or provision of kiddos activities but still had a good dinner. Will definitely go back.

What a wonderful hidden gem in this corner of Kanata!! If you are looking for a busy and homey breakfast diner of yesteryear, this is the perfect place. It's almost like you step into the movie set of Corner Gas and visit The Ruby. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the service is quick and nice, the food is served hot and fresh in generous portions. And what I loved especially was getting served some coffee immediately after entering before ordering!!! Love it first thing in the morning :) Now don't all come here at the same time, it's so busy it might be hard to get a spot during rush hours! But they have all day breakfast so if you come later its still available

I will drive from anywhere in the city to go have breakfast at Kal's. It's small, but the potatoes are worth it. They are the BEST breakfast potatoes in the city. No onions (add on if you want), pan fried (not deep fried!) and perfectly cooked and seasoned every time. I get them to go, I get them to eat in. They are the ultimate comfort food. The eggs are always cooked perfect too. I'd love to try Kal's pizza as I hear it's also amazing, but I just can't stop coming for breakfast. I like to sit at the bar, as the staff is always delightful.

Visit for breakfast as often as money allows. The best French Toast and my spouse bemoans the real fried potatoes with fried onions. His eggs are perfect, and his toast is buttered crust to crust, just the way they expect them to be, and his crispy bacon is as requested. How can you not love that kind of breakfast! The servers are welcoming and fast with the delivery of the orders. Very efficiently managed.

I’ve heard so many great things about Kal’s that I just had to try it for myself. Best scrambled eggs and home fries I’ve ever had. The hollandais sauce is very flavourful and goes so well on the eggs Benedict with the smoked meat. This just might be our new breakfast place.

Great Experience at Kal’s Restaurant! My wife and I visited Kal’s on Sunday and had a fantastic experience. It was busy but didn’t matter because we were seated right away and promptly served a delicious, hot breakfast. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to our enjoyment. We highly recommend this place for a five-star experience!

No waiting to get in for a late breakfast on Sunday morning, which was a nice surprise. Generous portions (nobody left hungry) and friendly service. Atmosphere was welcoming and cozy.

The food was delicious and very crispy. The fries were AMAZING and tasted like something you’d fine at a good chip wagon. I had the club sandwich and was super tasty. We also had one of the best customers service hear! The lady that served us was so much fun we had an awesome conversation with her!!
