Whent in to purchase some basil they had it in the plastic factory container the price was 50% off the leaves were black and starting to decay. When I approached the Asian cashier he was around his mid 60s maybe 70 I said to him these are 50% off but they are decaying in the package his response was you can take it or leave it nobody is forcing you to buy them. I live across the street and have been going to this store for a while now and never had this problem or attitude that this employee has I don't think he likes his job if he's the owner he shouldn't be behind the cash register but little did he know that I work for the heath department.
This store is a little pricey but the sales are really good. Most of the time, I find it just as expensive as Co-Op. Sometimes you can also get really good deals on meat and produce about to expire. It's a good place to go when you're in a pinch and don't want to travel far. The staff and the manager are also very friendly. My only complaint is... Sometimes when items are on sale, they won't show up as on sale when they're rung in. Also, sometimes the cashier will forget to enter the discount code on 50% off stickered items and I don't notice until I get home which is extremely frustrating.
The new rep at the front is very nice. It’s pretty clean and organized in there. The only thing is, things are overpriced and the meat does not look good at all. A lot of things are cheaper at superstore and Walmart so you really have to be careful what you buy there & double check the meat before you purchase . I wish the prices were a little better but happy to have a shop close by
Convenient little grocery store for when you need a few items. They’re not the biggest store so they don’t always have what you need, but I can’t count how many times they’ve saved me when I needed something at the last minute. They’re a little bit more expensive than big name grocery stores and sometimes they close a few minutes early, but overall a handy little place.
So far, I have nothing to complain. The prices are higher then other groceries stores obviously but not thaaaaat high. When you can't go to a big grocery store and need something quick, they pretty much have everything. I shop there every week for small things and sometimes they actually have promotions in some stuff that are cheaper than other bigger brand stores.
The staff is incredibly rude, cold and unfriendly. Extremely overpriced. I would recommend going absolutely anyone over this “grocery store”, even a gas station is a better option. Owners should really focus on improving the terrible customer service and attitude of the staff. Overall, do not go here unless absolutely necessary.
Have a bit of everything you can possibly need for a close by grocer. Fair prices for convenience store with actual produce meat milk eggs frozen etc. Staff are nice and quick. Have good selection of Indian spices, rice, fresh cilantro, ginger, onions, tomatoes etc
If you're a small load and specials shopper this is the place for you. If you walk in with no idea what you want to make for dinner just have a look at what's discounted or on special and your dish is set. There's always a good deal. One of downtown Calgary's gems.
Used to be great, now they have underage family members working the till who are so rude. Cant say hi or answer questions and make you feel like you are inconveniencing them by ringing out groceries. Also most items are expired. Wont go here anymore
High regular price on everything...BUT I always buy their sales and multiple items are very good price. Service is great and they sell.cigs and have a bank machine. One thing is pretty annoying. The only parmesan they have are the shredded kind.. :(
Highly recommend checking this grocery store out! The fruits and veggies are fresh and are often cheaper than at main chains like Saveon (for example we grabbed 2 avocados for $3). Has everything you would need (bread, baking supplies , meats).
Inflation has effected this store to the point where a jar of mayo costs ten dollars, that's just one small example of how much it's going to cost you to shop here, look carefully and you'll find the odd item at a regular price...Good Luck!
One little illustration of how much it will cost you to purchase here is that a jar of mayo now costs $10. Nevertheless, if you look closely, you might be able to discover the occasional item at a standard price. Best of luck!
Very good selection considering their size, great place to buy meat, lots of good deals, very friendly staff, super convenient location. My babies and I love to go shopping here. It's a great atmosphere!
Good selection, comes in clutch if you need something on short notice on the west end of downtown. Cheaper elsewhere but your paying for ease of access. Also supporting a local business on the side.
Always a pleasure. Staff are great, prices reasonable for downtown, with some great sales always. Butcher on site for excellent cuts and prices. My regular grocery store last 6 months..
The food is SO OVER PRICED!!!!! Also, kid working the register was rude. Reading other reviews seems my experience is shared. Don’t waste your time or money.
They have good quality fresh produce and a good variety of groceries. Prices are fair and very often some products are on sale.
Super convenient and most prices are the same as big box stores.
Very convenient location and nice staff
