If I could give no stars I would. This store does not care about its regular customers and we will never be returning. My mother shops at this store religiously every single week. While running errands near by she left her car in their over sized lot with ample parking spaces. Sure 100% not the best practice. However keyfood is the last errand on her list and she normally stops in afterwards to spend 75- 200 dollars there weekly to buy her groceries. When she came out after purchasing All of her groceries she discovered they towed her car after just 20 minutes of it being in their lot unattended. We’ve lived locally in this neighborhood over 30 years and even owned businesses here and never have been treated so poorly by a local establishment. We like to shop locally, however this key food will never get another dime from us. Be cautious to not even cross the street if you park in here, as they pay a tow truck to sit and watch their lot. The owners of this establishment should absolutely ashamed to cause such an expensive inconvenience to a regular customer. I would beware if you shop here, as they do not care for their customers Convenience. It’s a shame they closed the rite-aid to open this trash-hole of a grocery store.
Now that they hired friendly cashier's I don't mind going in there regularly. They don't really carry organic fruit or veggies- very rarely. Better prices on a lot of stuff like avocados, pineapple and oranges you'll find at FOOD UNIVERSE at the mall one AVE over. Their lemons, corn and a lot of aisle 1 fruits and vegetables are overpriced. They do have huge selection of dairy products. The bananas finally have been looking good and in stock these last few weeks. Those are still cheap as they should be. They don't have water specials, and F/U sells water cheaper and in bulk. They do carry the organic/washed kale and spinach both in containers and bags. Oranges are pricey here. Not a lot of URBAN MEADOW products either. I do a lot of perimeter shopping, because key food isn't know for healthy foods. The stock men are always grumpy and rarely helpful. But they're not as bad as that overpriced HEALTH FOOD EMPORIUM and their rude employees. Not a big selection of coffee either. Just the usual big brands. Hours have changed too since the pandemic but they are plentiful, and still well stocked.
This store is horrible. The quality of the produce and meat selection is poor. Every time I buy milk it's already SPOILED (even though the date stamp is not expired) which is caused by being left out too long before stocking... and then the milk is OVERSTOCKED in a open fridge that's not keeping it cold enough. Also, they excessively stock items in the middle of the isles where people are always walking into them or knocking them over. I've even observed the manager screaming and berating his employees. I rather travel far away to the Food Emporium or Stop and Shop, than shop from this store.
I come here when I'm in a pinch and need to grab something since it's just right down the street from where I live. It has mostly anything and everything that you would want but it doesn't have the wide selection in comparison to say Costco or Stop & Shop. It also doesn't have many organic things but it has a little of everything. The inside appears cluttered and the baskets and carts need to be rethought out in terms of putting things back and having things more organized -- but other than that really great store for the things I need in the last minute.
Horrible customer service and racist. I purchased a gallon of milk today, it was $3.99 bought milk home to give my son a glass and it was spoiled, I called the store and the guy I spoke with told me to bring it back for a refund, however when I get back there I'm told they can't issue me a refund so they gave store credit which I was not satisfied with because I didn't come in store with store credit and I just purchased. However if i was caucasian i would've got my money back smh @ keyfoods
Kind of disappointing that they are not enforcing wearing a mask rule as much now that NYC’s first wave is over. I even called and inquired about this as I have seen people and even some workers either not wearing a mask or wearing them below their nose. The lady on the phone even told me that now that things are not that serious, they are not as strict. Disappointing as relaxing of rules is how a second wave can potentially start. This is very irresponsible.
I have lived in this area for almost 20 years and have always shopped here. They have always been clean, helpful, friendly and quick. Only negative experience i have had was the price gauging during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. I spent over $100 for about $70 worth of groceries. They had NO sales and were slow to restock basics like bread, eggs and milk. I have forgiven them but if ever we have another Pandemnic... I will shop at Food Universe 3 blocks away.
I have been going to this Keyfood for almost 28 years now. Place changed a bit. It got a wee bit bigger, cleaner. But some of the workers are rude and creepy. Meat got a lot pricey. It's convenient since there's parking. There fruit and vegetables are way to expensive and not a lot of variations. Just a common grocery store in the neighborhood. Nothing out of the ordinary. So mundane. Have something that can make you stand out from other grocery stores.
Very well organized and clean grocery spot, I pass by mines which is 3 blocks away to shop here which is a 12 minute drive just because I love how organized and clean they are, perfect place for a everyday chef or just the weekend wanna be...lol. I love their variety of foods, something for everyone and every thing on your grocery list priced nicely so it won't burn a hole in your pocket while trying to feed your family. Nice and friendly staff.
There are two better Key Foods just minutes away. They are lacking so many essentials in this very small and so hard to navigate Key Food. I've had staff members be rude to me (just not say hello, not make eye contact, ignore my thank you/hello) enough times. Produce just does not seem fresh. I only go to this supermarket if I have no other choice. If you can go to the one on Main St and Union Tpk
There was a nasty manager on sat 9/2 at around 7 pm who cursed mouth and refused to tell his name ... as well as not tell me the managers name. I'm going to get to the bottom of this because thus is not right and it's as if the are hiding. The service from them is horrible except for the people who actually work there. I'm truly disappointed and further more disgusted by the way they treat people.
I come in to pay with my Apple Pay which I used the day before. They are saying it won’t work and they won’t take a card number. The cashier is making a big scene and giving dirty looks at me because I was holding up a non existent line. I went to another store right after and my Apple Pay works. I told them before it was there machines.
Just in there recently, always clean, shelves always stacked, staff friendly. Love the fact even though we have cashiers, have 4 self service checkouts. Within a 5 minute car drive from home. This review isn't for 69th Ave off 164th St Key Food, I was addressing the one at Union Turnpike and Main Street, much cleaner and organized.
not only are they massively overpriced, but according to multiple people i know in the area, they like to make their workers come in with covid, otherwise they will be fired. literally marking things up over $10 what they are elsewhere. i truly hope they runs out of business for the good of our community
Super clean and expensive. Nothing good goes on sale. We go to Stop and Shop for 95% of food shopping and use keyfood when we need something urgent since it's a few blocks away. Not all key foods are the same. The one by my parents home has amazing prices. Neighborhood dictates prices I guess....
A friendly neighborhood store. Not too big, so lacks space to carry everything that you might be looking for. The Deli Dept and workers are the best in the area. This is the one Deli that always is stacked with all the good name brand cold cuts. Small parking lot that is always packed.
Nasty older Spanish or European looking lady at deli. Agressive attitude not friendly at all. Cut my cheese on a dirty machine then has the nerve to give me attitude when I ask her what is that she is picking out my cheese with her bare hands. I just looked at her and walked away.
Horrible customer service, the staff actually yelled on a pregnant woman today. Some of the cashiers are very aggressive to the customers like you owe them your life. Their very very rude with no respect whatsoever. I will never ever shop there again. Stay away from them!!!
They don't like to keep price tags in the right spots don't expect to your bill to come out the way you want it afyer your done shopping. When asked nicely if they would honor the price tags that are actually displayed they roll their eyes and brush you off very rude
Great local neighborhood supermarket with a lot of of localized vendors and products. Great meat selection at reasonable prices. I must go if you have one in your local community. You can find a lot of ethnic products that's the major brands do not carry.
Helpful, friendly staff. Clean and organized. Getting more organic/healthy options and hoping they'll extend that trend into the produce aisle as well soon! As of now I have to go to Queens Health Emporium for my fruits and veggies instead.
Good for convenience bc it’s the only supermarket that’s close for lots of people. The service is usually really good but the food is overpriced compared to other supermarkets and key foods in Queens and the selection isn’t as good.
So disappointed. Holiday season and I bought some cookies there as a gift. Didn’t pay attention and the were expired. And lately find a lot of things due to expire. I don’t know what the stuff is doing over there or the manager .
I have bought rotting garlic ,onions at full price. Today they had the nerve to sell green beans that were rotting and slimy all 6 packs. Beware of their fresh vegetables, they sell them regular price until they are almost dead.
New to the area and I'm happy to see key food because I had one in my old neighborhood which closed down a long time ago . I got Everything I needed today and left with a smile because of all the amazing people working here.
Saw the most disgusting thing today..... I believe it's D&D or D&G whoever delivers the rolls was putting them in the plastic bags in the back of his truck. I'll never buy rolls again from anywhere after seeing this . …
It has been a known fact that this store sells expired food and sees no problem with doing so. Went to buy some yogurt today (6/12) and the expiration date was 5/30 and still on the shelf! This is how people get sick!!
Prices so expensive, and only I like one cashier who is Pakistani but I don't know her name.. She is always smiling and greets you nicely.. Polite.. Supermarket workers not that helping either...i go here once a while
Overpriced. They take advantage of the fact that they are the only supermarket in the immediate neighborhood. I only go when there is a decent sale. Deli is good (they get the second star). Manager seems like a perv.
This place is a disgrace; i am so sick of coming home and my produce is rotten the next day, or cutting into an onion or pepper and finding MOLD. How much money in wasted groceries I’ve spent here. i have HAD IT.
I shop here regularly. It's great for in and out shopping experience. Usually not alot of people shopping here so its not overwhelming when you shop. Cashier's are not really talkative but they aren't rude so.
I used to work at this location so I know everything here moves. They get new shipment every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday/Saturday morning so everything here is fresh. Has great selection of foods. Great service.
The produce is reasonably priced, the only negative thing I'd say is they skimped the strawberries, and strawberries are expensive as it is. I'd like to get a full box of berries. Parking lot is spacious too.
Love this Supermarket! Great owner and management, during pandemic it still open for neighborhood and the best part is keeping the price as usual. Wish them luck and they gain my trust and support!
Well stocked, great deli, very good produce, very good meat, good sales so check your circular. My first choice when shopping in the neighborhood. Parking can be a little tight though after 3pm.
It's old and not my first choice but if it's something that you need quickly and you're in the area then it's fine. They don't have a self checkout, only 6 registers or so. The deli is good
Everyone is very helpful and pleasant! A friendly neighborhood store. See your neighbors shopping there too!! Then You can stop at Napoli's for a slice of pizza, and possibly some ice tea!!
Smaller supermarket but they're updating everything the fruits and vegetables are really fresh and good quality products and the customer service is amazing the staff is really sweet
As far as supermarkets do it's quite small but I do like it. I live fairly close to it and, do all my grocery shopping there. Most of the workers there are very kind and helpful.
Great grocery store .there employees are very knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are good also. They have all the grocery and high quality items u would expect from key food !
Today is March 17, I bought a box of Blueberry mini muffins here this morning, and when I got home, I found that it had expired! More than two weeks have passed! …
I love the store because they have a lot of good things that I do eat and Tony that works well in the produce is very nice to me he always have kind word to say
This was my first time at this particular key food. It was a pleasant shopping experience. Prices were pretty great. I will be shopping there again!!
Place it's completely out of times. Nothing new they still focus on a community that has change over time. It could be use full to make a 80's movie.
It was a really good supermarket, has everything we needed for the day, the staffs there were nice that they told me where to find the food I want.
They have everything you need and courteous cashiers..The produce is immaculate and meats, fish and dairy are all fresh...Free parking...
Not a bad supermarket. They are close to my home. They have almost everything I need. Prices are a bit high but seem to be coming down
This is an excellent market. Very well managed. Fast checkout. Fine meats + produce. All fresh. Very good prices. I always shop here.
Conveniently located in my neighborhood where I can buy fresh food and checkout quickly. All staff is kind and helpful. Thank you.
Good people ... Stocked well. Except for apple juice. For some reason they never have apple juice. Good deli. Good produce aisle.
Very clean I'm very impressed, customer service, amazing family feeling as you enter.. very knowledgeable about all products...
The cashiers are great, the only issue is that the aisles are too narrow and some aisles have displays blocking the path
Place is clean and organize. Lots of choices at their deli sections. Food and salads are excellent. Staff are friendly.
There wasn't alot of space to get down the aisles. And there wasn't alot of help around. They were to busy stocking.
When I called up and asked them about the hours for recycling they failed to tell me the machines were not working.
I really like this supermarket. It has everything I need at good prices and the staff is friendly.
Clean and great selection of groceries and everyday needs. There is parking too, which is a plus!
Purchased whole milk today 10/13 with expiration day 11/25 .. already expired. Whats going on???
Good for small shopping.. Not the cleanest or best selection
Very assorted, I find what I want and a lot of kindness!!
