We decided to try this pizza place because we like smaller type places and want to support local business. The reviews were pretty decent and talked a lot about good customer service and good food. I looked up the menu online and decided on combo C. This would be enough food for me and my hubby and with some left overs for the next day. When I called the pizza place a lady took my order everything appeared to be fine....I did comment to my boyfriend that it was weird they didn't confirm the order or give a price. The pizza arrived in a decent time about 45 minutes. My boyfriend paid for the order and when he brought it in the pizza box looked really small. He called out to the driver and asked if this was a large he said no small that was on the order. He suggested we call in to report it. I called back into lava and the same woman spoke to me on the phone and I let her know we got an incorrect order. She told me I order combo A the small. I informed her I specifically looked up the menu because this was our first time ordering and specified combo c with a large pizza and 20 wings. She continued to argue with me and told me I was wrong. She agreed to send me a large pizza and 10 more Wings but I would have to pay the $7 difference. I asked do you mean I have to pay $7 and wait another 45 minutes when this wasn't my error. She continued to say she placed the order personally and i ordered combo A and there must have been a misunderstanding or miss communication because she remembers our whole conversation. I brought up she never confirmed my order at the end of our call or the price and just said bye....her response was we never tell the price unless the customer asks. Ummmm how are your customers going good to know how much money to have ready for you? Also from my understanding you never tell the customer basically they are lying! After what felt like an argument and me informing her I even looked their reviews up on trip advisor and would write about my experience she decided to send the pizza without a charge. We have just ate the pizza they sent because we were hungry waiting and it is pretty good I will admit and the parmesean wings were pretty good too. It just really sucks of how I was treated when I'm 100% sure of what I ordered and my boyfriend heard me order too. We got our replacement pizza and I was absolutely shocked. It literally looks like our replacement pizza was was stepped on. See the pictures. When I opened the box it was squished and the box was ripped. I was actually scared to eat it the pizza was mashed all together. I called back the shop and informed them I want nothing from them but am shocked of how it came and how I was treated I explained the state of the replacement pizza and the lady just said okay.....no apology nothing. I will never order here again I cannot believe they can do this to people!

I very rarely write bad reviews, but this place is definitely an exception. I ordered a slab pizza and wings. I received a call to say my order was here, but then I go to my door only to see my delivery driver smoking inside his vehicle. He eventually notices me standing in my doorway and comes sauntering out of his car. He hands me a debit machine, and I say "I'd rather pay cash if you can make change". I hand the man a $100 bill, and he hands me back $40 and my food. I ask to see my bill [so I can calculate a decent tip] and he goes "Oooup I forgot your dipping sauce". At that point I noticed the delivery driver seemed a bit tispy, as though he had been drinking. I ask to see my bill again, and THEN he claims I never paid him in the first place! I'm sorry, but why would you give someone change for a transaction that supposedly never happened?? Ultimately I had to go get my boyfriend as I distinctly remembered handing the driver $100 and he was denying it ever happened. We asked for his name, and he said it was "John" but when we spoke to the company they said his name was "Tony". My husband went out to take a photo of Jonh/Tony's licence plate, and he peeled out of there SO fast. Ultimately some of the people employed at this Westdale location are very, very sketchy so please be weary of that.

Hi, I have a huge concern about this place so called HALAL pepperoni pizza, we just bought it from the king street location lava pizza , and when we asked them about the certificate they said they don’t have it right now.. we left the store but we got puzzled and decided to call them from our way back home, they said the owner has it, we said ok can we get his/her name and the employee refused to tell me moreover when I asked the manager name instead she was reluctant and suspicious again, the employee asked another employee and hung up on me, they were trying to avoid us and keep telling us that it is halal pepperoni and I made sure that they are not selling pork under the banner of halal, so my advice to all the Muslims brothers and sisters out there to please be very careful and don’t be get fooled by any vendor who is selling their products by saying it HALAL verbally without any certificate and authenticity, we are very disappointed and concerned for our Muslim fellows as this is a huge deal in Islam, I would never go and buy that HALAL pepperoni pizza from that shady place

We had a bad incident here 3 months ago ordering a pick up special online. They tried to deliver it and blamed it on me for not checking the very tiny pick up option upon placing the order.... even though I literally ordered a "pick up special "so it didn't make sense to blame it on the customer. It's a website design issue, not a me issue - all I wanted was for them to acknowledge this. We tried to give them a second chance recently and they gave me the wrong pizza, and then switched it with a customer who had already left the building and gone to their car. They then gave me the pizza... after another customer had handled it, and it was not in sight for several minutes. Gross! And thats a clear food handling violation. I didn't want to post this publicly, but I reached out to them via email and recieved zero response, so clearly they do not care. Visited this place on the way to Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area. Always excited to visit this place for their famous samosa poutine. Pizzas are also great as poutine. Wide variety of vegetarian options are also available. Usually no wait time on mobile order/ take out order. The food was ready when I arrived for my take out order 15-20 minutes later. The shawarma pizza has been our go-to pick for a year now and it continues to be amazing. However, the issue is with their delivery. In one instance, our extra dipping sauces were not delivered with our pizza. We called and the lady was really rude, dismissive, unapologetic, and did not resolve the issue. On another instance (2 nights ago), the pizza that was delivered was COMPLETELY not what we ordered. Again the lady was rude and unapologetic. After waiting another half hour, the correct pizza finally arrived but the delivery guy did not apologize or try to make it better by offering any free dips. Just a suggestion for delivery customers. Make sure you guys CHECK the pizza that you receive and that everything is correct before the delivery guys leaves.

Okay once again here I am sharing a bad review, it's sad because this place is a hit or miss... We ordered 3 chicken shwarmas and honest to god they were absolutely filled BUT with no chicken, we had the smallest amount. All we could taste was lettuce, tomatoes and a little bit of onion. Again this place is a hit or miss which means they can be good or bad which is sad. I hate to leave bad reviews but something needs to change! People pay good money for the food, so give them what they pay for. PLEASE read and make a change when you see negative reviews because I've noticed you guys only have a few great once. P.S only order here if you are having a nice fee drinks, you'll have more of a good time with there food. Sad to say but true.

We have ordered here every Friday, I ordered instead of my son. Sadly the cashier tried to over charge me not realizing that I knew exactly what he was doing as I am the one that pays for it weekly. He tried to charge the same amount we pay for the 2 extra large deal. When I told him he has overcharged me he starts decreasing the price by a couple dollars. What happened to this place? Got a coupe of shawarma poutines, which was a treat for us on a Sunday afternoon. Smelled great, but they were dry, like the fries were left over from the night before. A fraction of the garlic sauce they used to use and no gravy. The chicken was dry and crunchy. Crunchy! Hey, we all love the crispy bits around the edges, but this was chicken jerky. My wife gave up after a few bites. This used to be our favourite take-out joint, but the last couple of times it has been mistakes, smaller portions, higher prices, and lower quality. Used to be worth the little drive into Westdale from Dundas, but not such much anymore.

The Samosa poutine is a must try. I have tried many times but sometimes they burn the samosas which is not good in taste. You can ask for less mayo on top. We have been eating the same pizza over 3 years, to be specific SPICY PANNER WITH DESI BASE, and when we came here today and the pizza we got was the wrong pizza, so we went back in the store and told them about it they refused to accept they made a mistake and said you never mentioned desi base sauce. And the girl who works there was like this time we will remake it, and it will take 25 minutes. We have never had a bad experience specifically for this location( westdale ) we drive from Hamilton mountain even tho we have other locations close to us. This was a really bad experience to have. To add more they didn’t have common courtesy to greet their customers.

They have the best pizzas in Canada, don't get fooled by the look of the place!! Their pizzas are generously loaded with the toppings and a lot of cheese, not like pizza hut or other pizzerias! They have a long list of different toppings to serve everyone. I personally recommend their Volcanic pizza, it is the best!!

Complete lack of service. ordered online just to show up and be told that they didn’t offer shawarmas anymore, I didn’t even receive a courtesy phone call to change my order. I was forced to wait there for 30 minutes while they made this abomination they call a poutine which they actually put through the pizza oven. the pizza I ordered online was left sitting in the cold for that time and became cold and stale. Poutines are fries gravy and cheese curds. You do not put fries gravy and shredded mozzarella through a pizza oven and call it a day. Like what is that ? I will not be going back there again.

I think the girl that took my order was a trainee, but I could hear her her manager behind her her gentle egging her on. Both were great! This was the worst pizza experience I have ever had! The place was DISGUSTING. Looks like it’s never been cleaned, stunk like B.O, so many flies throughout the whole place, the glass countertop was smeared with dirt, the floor had never been mopped or cleaned. So I ordered a pizza at 3:30 am on a Friday night, 30 mins later than their usual closing time. When I reached the place at 3:45 I found there had been a misunderstanding in taking my order. I accepted to take the pizza but Sharad, the manager, kindly offered to make another pizza for me even though it was time for them to leave for home. After about 10 mins Hardeep handed me my pizza with the toppings that I wanted with a friendly smile. Thank you Sharad and Hardeep for this level of customer service!

This place should be closed due to health code violations!!! They do not wash their hands. They cross contaminate like crazy, saw them drop chicken into the shredded cheese they use for the pizzas and pick it out like nothing happened. Hairs in food, bugs in food. There is a huge thread about this location on social media and everyone agrees, someone even had a maggot in their pizza and nobody at this place seemed to care. So gross. The taste of pizza is good but they have the worst customer service. I WAS a regular customer. I USED TO order at least once a month but I‘m done with them. Tonight I ordered a pizza and pairs of extra grilled chicken topping but the amount of grilled chicken was even less than regular. I called and they didn't believe it. Some other time, they put the wrong sauce on my pizza, and the manager made me send him 3 pictures to believe my words. I won't order them anymore.

I called to confirm how much it would cost, for a small pepperoni pizza to be delivered, they said $0 delivery fee and they told me $17, when their menu online says 15. I can't believe they tried to overcharge me, I'm not stupid...who charges 17 for a small, this isn't Boston pizza. And when I said I'm no longer interested, the person on the phone asked me about 5 times "you don't want it?" playing dumb when she heard me the first 2 times. Weird workers.

This has been our go-to pizza joint since they opened (when their opening special was a 1-topping XL for 6.99 on Wednesdays! ). Hundreds of pizzas later, 99% of the time they've gotten our order right, and when they haven't, it's because they've given us extra toppings, or have thrown in an an extra dipping sauce (which should be illegal because it's so addictive). They're so affordable, and so delicious. I want nothing more. They have my allegiance.

One of the unique recipes available here is Samosa Poutine. It is real mouth watering. If you are a spicy lover, feel free to ask for extra spicy and reduce the sweet sauce

The service was a bit chaotic. They seem disorganized as anything. The guy in front of me was getting a refund for an order he got that wasn't even close to right. The pizza itself doesn't really make up for the service. Its pretty average. The wings were good, and I liked the sauce. But there's better around there. Good chance I won't be back.

This pizza place is a little overhyped in Hamilton. We got a halal meat lovers pizza and shawarma pizza and both were average. The meat lovers pizza is quite bland in flavour and the shawarma pizza, while has decent taste, is way too heavy and you will end up feeling terrible after. For the price you pay, it's not worth it. Sorry.

My order took an extra hour to be completed and this may be the worst tomato sauce to ever touch my lips. They might have added sugar or something but it’s an insult to every Italian to ever live.

Veggie pizza with spicy paneer and Samosa Poutine tastes so delicious. Never had such a delicious pizza here in Hamilton. Apart from that, there customer service is very friendly. The pizzas are always ready on time. They have variety of sauces that you can try. Definitely recommend this place to all who love to eat pizzas.

I would give it 0 stars if i could the delivery driver was smoking on top of my samosa poutine and was cussing at me after I confronted him and after that my order was made incorrectly i called to complain they first put the phone on the side and then told me to send picture i sent the picture and they even didn’t reply

The only better Indian pizza I've had has been in Brampton, but Lava's still better Indian pizza than any I've had in Vancouver, too.

The food is always good. Service is great. This review is mostly because of this posting. I arrived at 1:55AM Friday, so Thursday night, and was told they were closed. 20 minutes out of my way for nothing. This ad says 4AM closing. This sign in the window does not show 4AM for any day of the week.

I got the fabled samosa poutine, and I can confirm that it is exceedingly ambrosial. However it may leave you questioning the path you have chosen to walk in life while you suffer in the lavatory the next day. Wouldn’t eat this more than once or twice a year if you value your internal well being.

Thank you to who ever was working (Sunday August 1 2021- at 3am)the finance and I called in and ordered the shawrama poutine and the samosa poutine. All I can say is wow!! They were absolutely delicious nice flavours and huge portions. It was perfect I will be ordering it again and recommending!!

Very unhygienic place. Walked in to pick up a pizza and saw a worker in the back staring off into space while playing with a bucket of mozzarella. Literally just squeezing the cheese shreds with her bare hands without even caring that customers were seeing this. Truly disgusting

Have only ordered delivery here. Phone service can definitely be improved, as coherent communication can sometimes be difficult. Delivery times have been pretty decent. However, their pizza rarely disappoints. My go-to is the Shawarma Pizza. Slab-size is great for a large group!

Tried the chicken shawarma pizza and it was pretty good. Price was okay too however there are many spots in the city that have a better deal. The only issue I had was the pizza was mad dough-ey. Would probably try again :)

I ordered pizza and complained and they just said eat it! So ordered on your own risk And driver is not having any etiquette. Speaking very rudely. After that they called and told to pick the pizza from store. Then why did I order for delivery!

Had issues long ago. However they have clearly fixed the issue ..... My gosh, I'm pretty it's the second best place I've ever had Sharma.( The other closed long ago . Bannisters) amazing product nice staff the Nick takes this business really seriously an it shows

My favourite pizza restaurant. If you want to eat pizza or samosa poutine, lava pizza is the best place. If you are from Asia, you will like it. I would suggest, shwarma source at base, for toppings- Spicy paneer, pineapple, tomato, green peppers.

Lava pizza is appropriately named and polarizing, but if you like a doughy base and a molten lava flow of cheese and grease, this is the place for you. The price is fantastic and they’re open late.

Wanted to say that these guys are amazing. I ordered 15mins before close yesterday (2:45am) and was sorta expecting a phone call saying they werent going to make it. Last time I ordered the pizza quality was eh, and they forgot my dip. This

The place is dingy and the service took over 40 minutes when we were told it was 20. However, the food was delicious and they have decent enough deals. We got Combo C, which for $36 after tax we got an extra large pizza, 25 wings and a dip.

Messed my order completely, girl taking the order didn’t listen neither did she repeated my order. Lava pizza on Fennell is a better option. Customer service in this store is really poor

This pizza place is a gem. Me and my friend stumbled upon it one late night out. First, its open late, even during quarantine. Second, the pizza is literally amazing. They do not cheap out on toppings. The crust is nice and evenly cooked.

We were a big fan of their pizza n wings, even recommended too a lot of friends but unfortunately their quality has went down. Today the pizza was bland it was like just chewing on dough, the wings were dry like brick and over cooked

Charged for delivering, we are within 20km. Order 50 wing to try the selection, curry was the only one with taste but small. Spicy blue cheese was plain wings with sauce on the side, where's the spice? Don't get the wings

They have started serving pizza with bandages. Quality is getting low day by day. Ordered pizza and got the bandage in my slice. It’s so disgusting. They don’t care about any one’s health. Never going to order again.

Staff is always very friendly, especially the delivery drivers. Pizza is really good, even when just grabbing a slice. Quality drops a bit during peak times but its a good spot. Get the garlic bread.

Best pizza in the world I promise you I eat very often here because of how good all their food is you need to try it now please pick up the phone I promise no regrets. Their wings & pizza are #1

The worst poutine I’ve ever had in my life. There was barely any cheese, the gravy was sour and the fries tasted bland and dry. Not only that but it was burnt. Definitely not worth $12

Website advertises free delivery. After placing my order which shows $0 delivery charge, Lava Pizza Westdale calls me and says there will be a $9 delivery charge. False advertisement.

Been a customer since 2019. I have a pretty mixed review. I have had my order messed up multiple times, from wrong/missing dipping sauce

It was a random long drive with friends and craving for perfect pizza biteand samosa poutine.....

They used to have stellar Pizza and Wings. Like, really good. The quality has really taken a nose dive.
