As a proud Queen's University graduate attending convocation, I had the privilege of experiencing the grandeur of Leon's Centre in Kingston firsthand. This impressive venue was chosen as the location for our convocation ceremony, and it provided a memorable setting for this significant milestone. The first thing that struck me about Leon's Centre was its sheer size. The venue offers a vast space that easily accommodated the large number of graduates and their guests. There was plentiful seating available, ensuring that everyone had a comfortable place to enjoy the ceremony and celebrate this special occasion. The seating arrangement was well-organized, allowing for clear views of the stage from various angles. The acoustics in the venue were excellent, which enhanced the overall experience of the convocation ceremony. The speeches, announcements, and performances were clear and easily heard throughout the arena. This attention to sound quality made it possible to fully appreciate and engage with the proceedings. Clean and well-maintained washrooms are always a plus, and Leon's Centre did not disappoint in this regard. The facilities were kept tidy, and it was evident that the staff took pride in ensuring a pleasant environment for everyone in attendance. The cleanliness added to the overall comfort and enjoyment of the event. While Leon's Centre was able to accommodate the large crowd, parking in the area proved to be a challenge. It's worth noting that if you are attending an event at the venue and require accommodation, staying at the nearby Holiday Inn is a wise choice. The hotel's convenient location allows for a quick and easy walk of around 5 minutes to the arena. This eliminates the stress of finding parking and provides a seamless transition from your accommodations to the event. In conclusion, Leon's Centre in Kingston served as an excellent venue for our convocation ceremony. Its spacious layout, ample seating, and superb acoustics ensured that everyone could fully enjoy the proceedings. The clean washrooms added to the overall comfort of the experience. If you're attending an event at Leon's Centre and need a place to stay, I highly recommend the nearby Holiday Inn for its proximity and convenience. With its close proximity and a short walk to the arena, it provides a seamless experience for attendees.

In for the 2020 Tim Horton's Brier. What an amazing time, very well done Kingston. The people are so friendly and helpful. Leon's Center was an amazing experience. The restaurants and staff that run them go one or two steps above to .ake you feel welcome, food was amazing at The Red House. Morrisons was a 50 sort of dinner with home cooked meals and hot coffee. Even though both places very busy staff always had a smile for you and made you feel like a regular. I have to give a special shootout to Kingston Transportation, late Sunday night we just missed the bus back to hotel and town was empty, no people or even cars to be seen. From around the corner comes a Transportation supervisor and asked us if he could help. He gets on his radio and asked I bus the was close by to put his out of service sign on and come pick us up. OMG how cool was that. Amazing town amazing people. Kingston Transportation you guys rock. Cheers
Went to a frontenac's game. Once we actually got inside the Leon's center our experience was pretty good. The food is a little high priced for what you get. The big issue with the entire experience is the lack of parking, and more specifically accessible parking... It's the sole reason I avoid going to the Leon's center. This was a poor place to put a facility that requires so much parking... A big fail for the city of Kingston. After looking for over a half hour and missing part of the first period of the hockey game, I decided to park in the food basic parking lot partially blocking the entrance exit off the back street. I was fortunate that I was not ticketed. But it was either there or four blocks away on the other side of princess street. Hopefully someone involves steps up to the plate and does something about this ridiculous setup.
My first visit to Leon's Centre! Love that it is downtown and easy walking distance to many restaurants. We took the bus there and a taxi back to our hotel so I can't comment on parking. The venue was clean and easy to navigate; lines at the concession I visited were short. Security was the best part of this experience (besides the show itself lol). We interacted with a few different personnel and they were all super friendly and helpful. My only real complaint was that standing was frowned on (tho allowed for a song or two before the band gave the go ahead maybe 2/3 through the show). As far as arenas go (and I have been to several across Canada), this would rank high on my list.
Leons centre is a great venue for concerts and other gatherings. I'm not a hockey fan so I've never been to see a hockey game. Typical stadium seating, nothing fancy there. Venue is usually clean and the bathroom facilities are usually quite clean as well. My only real complaint is the extraordinary prices on the concessions, however, I know that's pretty par for the course for anywhere. Ticket prices seem to be fair as well. Other than that, I'd like to see some ticketing reserved for locals, as scalpers are able to buy up all the tickets and re sell them, which isn't fair.
The Leon's Centre is a great place to take in a show. The venue itself is clean, well monitored and food/refreshments are available throughout. Any staff that I encountered were very positive, attentive and seemed generally happy to be there. The sound quality for shows is excellent; there's very little to no echo at the back of the arena making for a very pleasant listening experience. The only issue I had was the state of the washroom I used as it could have been cleaner and stocked better but it was a very busy night.
We have had the pleasure of being able to see and hear fabulous musicians like Diana Krahl, Sting, Leonard Cohen...plus the Cirque du Soleil, as well as hockey games The centre itself is amazing with areas to buy food and various beverages. My one complaint is that the less expensive seats are sooo small. Definitely pay for better quality seats, especially if you have arthritis. Good parking if you get there early and there are many restaurants easily accessible nearby. The Center is right downtown Kingston.
We had one of the suites for the hockey game and ordered one of their platters “The Goat” for the group of us there. It indicated on their website $200 but when we were in the suite and the food was already there (pre ordered prior to arriving at the suite) the menu in room says $300 and we were charged an admin fee and a tip totalling $450 for this. The food was fine but not $450 worth. Very disappointed in the false advertising and overpriced food and service.
Great experience going to the Leon's Centre. I've been to concerts, comedy shows, hockey games and children entertainment shows here. The concessions are expensive 4.50 for a small bottle of pop, $4.00 for bottled water, but it's to be expected when attending an event that they jack up the prices. I will continue to go to the Leon's Centre, my daughter and I always have a great time. There isn't really a bad seat in the house because of the stadium seating.
There is a short Indian man working what I assume was security there that was touching women inappropriately while the concert was going on. This was during the Billy Talent concert it got to the point when he was yelling at one guy for pushing him away from a girl the crowd had to tell him to stop and leave the guy alone until an older man working there told him to stop too. The incident was caught on camera and it’s pretty embarrassing for the venue.
Just loved Cirque du soleil. Great performance talent and variety! Unfortunately the seating really needs improvement. Especially for the price paid for shows. They're very uncomfortable , plastic school like chairs for 2+ hour shows. Not much leg room either . Customers are paying a lot for some shows, especially with the extra fees too . We should feel relaxed and comfortable on our date nights or special evenings out. Was Disappointed
Nice smaller venue. Great for hockey with the Frontenacs, WWE, Rock shows, DJs, conferences and showcases and indoor fairs. Decent food and catering on site is top notch. Lots of bathrooms. Only downside, no on site parking. Gotta pay and walk from nearby or hit a street a few blocks away in residential area and walk 5-10 minutes to be sure to get a spot. If you park farther away, when you leave it's not as congested as the major arteries.
What a great place to watch a comedian, hockey or a concert. This was an amazing experience with Jim Jefferies as one of my favorite comedians in a smaller venue than going to Toronto or Ottawa . The new arena is amazing compared to what I grew up watching the Kingston Generals as a kid. Great place to watch anyone without going to a major city, and it's a beautiful town. I highly recommend giving this place and town a try .
For an OHL arena, it's a classic one. Quite similar to Niagara actually. Except the main concourse is below the stands. Good sightlines. I think that the arena does have a concession problem though. It seemed like everything had long lines and I didn't get anything as a result. There was low attendance at the game I went to causing some concessions to be closed, but everything kinda seemed cramped at the concession stands.
Great smaller arena. Went there for a concert. Staff was super friendly and quick with getting everyone in. Very helpful to anyone needing assistance. Place was tidy and clean. Prices for the conversation were high, but that's every arena. Parking was minimal but we drove a bit and then walked back to the arena. I would recommend showing up earlier than you need to for your event if you want to find close parking.
Our first visit here to watch Womens Hockey. Olympic gold medalist on both teams Hefford and Lacasse. Super game watching these fantastic athletes. Their performance and dedication in hockey tremendous. The Leon's center is good forage night of excitement as this venue caters to lots of major events. Staff are great the venue is clean. Lots of snacks everywhere and then there is the Brew House.
Was a great evening of watching hockey last night. The staff there were fantastic and the food was great as well. In particular, the craft brew and bbq offer a "BBQ Bacon on a Stick" and trust me, it is every bit as good as it sounds. We tried both it with and without sauce and both ways were amazing. Obviously the prices as a little high but typical for these types of venues.
I had the opportunity to watch the Kingston Frontenac's play tonight. They played an awesome game and won! There were a lot of events happening and little leagues joining it, it made it feel like an NHL game. Drinks and food were available to purchase at the usual rink prices. Overall, I had a great time with the crowd. Definitely recommend coming to watch a game!
First and special visit to this place as Queens organized their convocation ceremony. The place is quite big with good capacity. There are number of parking places around the area so you will not face major issue. The staff is very courteous and organized. There was big rush but they manage it well. The experience was good and seating area is nicely organized.
During the Billy Talent concert a short indian guy in a red shirt there claiming to be security was grabbing women inappropriately. He didn’t stop until his boss came down during the last song of the night. He kicked some guy out and then started trying to kick another guy out who was protecting a women he was attempting to assault.
Nice venue for both concerts and sports. I have seen many of both and the sound is good, not a bad seat in the place and good options for good and drinks. Any staff I have dealt with have been friendly and able to answer any questions. You will pay the expected higher prices for things such as food , drinks and souvenirs.
Great hockey game. Very disappointed that I could not buy a beer or bottle of water. Using cash. The entire arena is gone cashless cause of covid. Last I checked not accepting cash is illegal, cash is Canadian currency and accepted everywhere in Canada. Ver disappointed in Leon's Centre.
The auditorium was nice and view from the seats were good. I have been here a couple of times for shows. Problem I had was being able to see after the lights went out to go and get a snack or to use the washroom. I am getting older and my sight is not as good as it used be.
Always a great experience. Staff is friendly and the fans are amazing. I wish there was more parking options but getting there early always seems to be the trick! If you want beer or food bring your wallet.. it's expensive! Go FRONTS go!!! Can't wait till the next game!
Box seats for a Fronts game. Awesome environment. Having the booth was great for seating, standing, and talking with my large group during the game and intermissions. They will take debit/cc for food and drink orders right in your booth. Will definitely be going again!
Wonderful afternoon spent watching the local hockey team get a big win! Staff and employees received our group well and helped us arrange for affordable tickets along with a great experience altogether for the group. Would definitely go again when I have the chance.
Great place to watch some OHL hockey. Intimate arena experience lively crowd and standard arena food and beverage pricing. I particularly enjoyed reading the bios for the members of the Kingston Sports Hall of Fame that are located on the main concourse.
Went to see Monster Truck show, enjoyed the show and venue. Great ventilation system able to remove the dust and exhaust smell. Friendly staff. We were able to find parking across the street $6.00 event parking. We will be back for more events!!
First off it's the easiest rink to find. There is NO parking but a paid lot across the road. Very warm inside, the dressing rooms are very close to the ice. Only entrance 4.5 is open for minor hockey. It's where the Hip played their last show.
Went to the Kingston Frontenacs game Dec 2 2022, was a very exciting experience. I'm not a huge hockey fan, let alone sports fan, but this was very fun! Parking was challenging, but over all not impossible. 10/10 would do again!
First time in this arena and pleasantly surprised. Even though it was a busy game, we didn't have to wait at all to get in, get some food or even go the the washroom . The music wasn't too loud . Overall great experience
Even though they were dealing with a burst pipe on one of the coldest days of the year they were amazingly informative and were sure to check in on us often. Great venue! Great shot of Ben Byrd dropping the puck!
Came to watch OHL's Kingston Frontenacs play, its a nice arena, the drinks are not too crazy expensive but there is not a lot of parking in the area. Lots of bars and restaurants in the area for after the game
The seats are hard plastic and hurt after about 30 mins. We bought tickets for a fight and during intermission they refused to let people outside to have a smoke break, so the bathrooms were incredibly smokey.
First time in the arena. My boys hockey team enjoyed their time watching the Fronts play the Colts. Great seats all around. Food pricing is fair for an OHL game. Pizza slice and bottled A&W Rootbeer $13.00.
Large venue full of lots of history, easy to navigate, clean, ample bathrooms and concessions. There are any have been so many great concerts and sporting events that have happened in these walls.
Waited in line during intermission — put in our order only to be told the entire building is cash free (keep in mind I paid cash yesterday for our tickets). Refused sale unless paying with a card.
Not as great as I expected for they have no wifi. lol I guess for a small city, I am biased to give 4 stars so i will give 5. I attended the Queens U graduation ceremony here last June 24, 2022.
Watched a Billy talent and gob concert and it was awesome Would have been a five star review but the seats could at least have cup holders especially when your paying so much for drinks
Great experience but you cannot hear a word they say over the pa system. Just seemed like a huge oversight for such a nice rink. Sounded like the teacher talking on Charlie Brown!
The show was awesome. But I bought tickets online through Cirque Du Solei, which sent me to a third-party seller and paid $415US for $75 tickets. Was not impressed.
Nice facility but the seats in the arena are horrible! The most uncomfortable because they slope forward! It’s time for new seats! New seats = 5 Star rating!
Good sound, lighting. Small venue. Seats were a bit small. Wish the drunk young'ns were corralled a bit better but, it happens. Great concert venue!
Great place... Although this new cashless policy is a no go for us. Last time I checked, cash was legal tender. No cash? No business. Sorry!
Saw a Cirque de Soleil show here a few years ago with family and was blown away by the lovely building! Great place for a show or festival.
Picked up tickets for the Monster Truck show on May 28th. Easy to purchase, ticket seller was quite amusing! Excellent service C.J. …
The entry process was horrible I got there 20 minutes before the show, and it took me 30 minutes to get in. I missed the first 10 minutes
Public PA Volume levels were uncomfortably loud-I've been to rock concerts there that weren't that loud. Food and beer prices were high.
Great arena...has many services including hospitality, food and beverage. Staff are great and very helpful. Was well worth the trip
Great venue. Really nice for concerts and events. Not a bad seat in the house and great beer selection with decent venue pricing.
Great game! Not sure why the whole parking lot in front of center was closed off. Made for a challenge finding parking near by
Had a great night here.. Security has a creepy tendency to search women and purses on the way in... But the building is great
Was there for a hockey game and the staff were great, the building was very clean and the concession food hit the spot!
Went to an MMA event. Easy to get in and out. Food and drink prices are reasonable. Not really a bad seat in the place
The seats are unbelievably horrible, slanted forward, hard plastic, no leg room, but Cirque de Soleil was fantastic
It's okay but takes FOREVER to get into the place because of a bad layout and for some reason old school pat downs.
Took my kids to see FMX. It is nice to have an event arena like this in a small town, The only drawback is parking.
Had a great time but I felt the seats were small and uncomfortable for my long legs sitting a long period of time.
Been to 2 kids concerts there. Be sure to arrive early to find parking. But well organized and accessible venue.
I really enjoyed visiting it. I found the stairs from 300 level to the 100 level very hard to climb and decend.
Went to see the grandson, he was a flag bearer that night for the Frontenacs and we enjoyed the whole evening.
Very nice facility, easy to manoeuvre, clean, very good acoustics. Not a big arena, but gets the job done.
Didn't accept cash. Half the spaces were closed amd not a lot of selection in the spaces that were open.
What a great venue for concerts. Great sound and felt more personable than larger auditoriums. Love it!
Here for a graduation, was set up well for good views of the stage, lots of washrooms, good acoustics.
Attended for a graduation ceremony. Place was clean, air conditioned and had nice washrooms
Great venue. prices are a bit much for a smaller arena, But expected for arena concessions.
Went and saw the Skate Ontario event. Had a great time. Looking forward to attending again
We went to see Cirque du Soleil. Great view from our seats. Cold beer and pleasant staff.
+Great show, excellent seats, staff were very helpful -food was not good and cost a lot.
Prices were pretty high. And they wouldn't let me out to get fresh air and come back in.
The speaker system is awful, can’t understand anything someone says on the microphones.
There for ice wolves hockey practice. Girls had a great time skating on the ice.
Cirque du soleil was awesome. Almost $11 for a beer doesn't go well with me.
Went to see the cirque du soleil and we had great seats.
Very comfortable & easy location. Parking not so great.
Went for a Frontenac's game. Always a good time!
It was so amazing. Lots to do and see.
