Recently relocated from Winnipeg to Calgary this Summer and was thrilled to finally find a one-stop Jamaican/Caribbean grocery store @ Mayfair Foods. Being new to the city, I would visit Jamaican take-out restaurants where I would purchase a few snacks and a few grocery items they had available. However, the restaurant supply was understandably very limited and sparse. I explained to one restaurant (Belly Full) that I was new to the city and in search of a Jamaican grocery store. The owner replied "buy my grocery"..."we have Jamaican grocery right here"..."no need to go elsewhere." She had ZERO recommendations for me. She then proceeded to show me her supply, of which I bought a few things but wasn't impressed, due to the limited and overpriced items. Found a random mechanic on-line for an oil change and as it turns out the owner is Jamaican - Carlos @ Auto Team Services. He recommended Mayfair Foods and Mayfair did not disappoint. They have an over-abundance of ALL things Jamaican/Caribbean. I'm overjoyed. Feels like home away from home. Ty Mayfair!

It was ok got what I wanted it was a bit prices.but ok only two people working at the time i was there,.well technically, the lady didn't know anything or do anything the man did it all and there was no cleaning of anything or wiping down.but they had what I was looking for that's all that matters. Will go back . The man was very nice and new what he was talking in like the woman that was there. But with some love and tender care and clean up some that place will be banging. All this place needs is some TLC and there good✌.

The folks that run this place are extremely helpful and kind. Such a typical Newfoundland type of store with all the typical Newfoundland meats, and items. it's so nice to be able to come here and find exactly what we need and get the help that we need from the staff. Definitely will return as we've been here a couple times now. Thank you so much!

Super nice and well Stocked store, the owner was very friendly and polite. Can't believe how old the store is. I was able to find something I had been looking for for a while after going to multiple stores I was about to give up, but as mentioned the store is very well Stocked and I was able to find what I needed no problem.

The frozen doubles are from Alima's roti & pastry shop in Brampton, Ontario. These heated up great and tasted amazing. These are the best doubles you can get in Calgary! Other than that, the shop owner is friendly and helpful. A lot of niche Caribbean items that you simply cannot get anywhere else.

I love going here, not only do they carry great Caribbean ingredients but interestingly they also carry Newfoundland food and ingredients. The staff are friendly and always helpful. Great place to pick up salt beef, savory, etc. if you're trying to make your Sunday jiggs.

Awesome store. If they don't have it there then ask. They ordered a couple things for me and now they have it in stock. It is a good place to go for different flour types and cheaper. Been going here for about 10 years. Thank you Mayfair Foods.

Unbelievable!! Rushing from work to get here before closing time (7pm) Arrived at 6:35pm., and the door was already locked!! I knocked on the door, cuz there were still staff inside, and they just ignored me! HORRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE

A good place to find a variety of Caribbean produce. Snapper fish a reasonable price. Cow skin, goat, beef tripe the way we Caribbean folks like it - not bleached. Dutch Pots and pans or just a pack a dominoes for our past time

Variety of caribbean food to choose from. Almost everything that you had back home can be found here. A little bit on the pricier side though. Just in time to grab a nice breadfruit and green bananas!!!

Excellent selection of niche products. Great place to source east coast ingredients (Summer Savory, Birch Beer, and Salt beef). Staff are friendly and have always been willing to assist me.

I love this place for the simple fact that I can come here and ask for virtually any completely obscure Caribbean item and they will have it! Ackee? No problem! (and a good price)

Nice place to get your Caribbean foods every now and then. A little expensive though so when I buy there its like a little family treat when we miss our home country food.

I got sold expired drinks and then called a liar when I tried to exchange it . The owner is very dishonest please be careful of this store

Pricey but selection is very good. I find the best green bananas here. The gentleman at the register is also very nice and accommodating.

Owners are friendly and helpful! Find all the ingredients (and cookware) I need to cook my food that isn’t sold in main grocery stores.

Very good place to visit. You can find just about everything you remember from home, even soft grease, Ferrol and blue soap.

They are one of the very, very, very few places that sells a nice selection of Newfie products!!! WOOHOO!!!

One word Pricey! However they sell specialty foods and items that cannot be found in regular supermarkets

What they sell as goat meat is actually just lamb, really disappointing. And it’s super expensive.

Always have what we want and if they don't have it, they will make arrangement to get it for you.
