If you are looking for a Pizza in Ottawa that has a unique and authentically Canadian appeal, Go see Moe. After seeing the sights in our nation's Capital we went looking for a place to enjoy a dinner that wasn't produced by some minimum wage employee working for a chain. Upon finding Newport, we could tell from our car driving by that we needed to stop as the enclosed patio seemed filled with locals who clearly knew something we didn't. As soon as we walked in and smelled the freshness of the ingredients and felt the warmness of the staff we knew we'd stopped at the right place. The pizza it's self was fantastic, The dough tasted rich and freshly raised with a hint of real yeast and hand folded and tossed consistancy rather than just some frozen frisbee crust. The tomato sauce was flawlessly spiced and prepared and the cheese and meats were cut by a butcher not a machine. You can tell that the owner cares not only about his customers but his product. If you are looking for a taste of napoli and won't settle for anything but a true certified italian za, this isn't for you. This is a thicker more traditional Canadian Home made pizza that is hearty and filling, not a cracker with toppings but a meal in it's self (although we did also order the spagetti and meatballs just to try that too and it was great) I wish more people took as much pride in who they were and what they did as the owner of this place, he was great, polite, kind and asked us how things were and what he could do to make our visit better. He even tried to excuse himself for being a little slower than normal as he'd hurt his arm recently. Still he was more engaged in serving us and the other tables than anything else and our meal was brought out rapidly and without anything missing. There were a few other guys trying to rush out and being a little rude and the level of customer service he showed them by being understanding even while very busy with multiple tables was a class in understanding that the customer is always right. Say what you want but Moe's generation understands that in a way these kids staring at thier phones all day will never get. Thank you for all you do Moe. This place is now on our family's map and we will be back one day for sure, we only hope to be sat in your section, your attitude and work ethic is as satisfying as the food it's self.

At first glance, you'd think you wree near a dock in the maritimes, which is an awesome thing as there is nothing better than a warm feeling to the place you are about to enter and relax. The moment I opened the door, I was greeted by not 1 but two employees with a natural smile...that's a good start. Now it was fairly busy being lunch hour but from the moment Ileft my car and walked up to the front door, even the grounds of the restaurant were CLEAN. Opening the door and experiencing a genuine greeting, the first thing I noticed was clean they kept the place even during a very busy time.Knowing I was in a hurry to pick up and deliver they took the time to ask me if I would like anything to eat and drink while still premming my order...not just multitasking but being considerate That is real customer service, but it gets better...they have a top notch expresso maker and the barrista, greeter, waitress make me a cappucino that could rival the dedicated coffee shops near that area...so if you want a high calibre cap or expresso you now know a hidden gem to get one. Now as for the food, the pizzas were epically well prepared, smelled fantastic and tasted even better..careful all you commercial pizzerias you now have some stiff competition...their menu is quite diverse, there's something in it for just about every taste, and before entering I asked a couple leaving what they thought and just as my experience, this place deserves the rating.

Pear & Gorgonzola Specialty Pizza, Club Sandwich

After hearing nothing but great things about this place, I am very disheartened by our service recently. After we arrived, it took about 10 minutes to be seen by a waitress. (Although it was Sunday around lunch hour, the restaurant was not busy enough for this sort of wait given the number of waitresses working). After a long wait for our food, the "hot" turkey sandwich arrived lukewarm and soggy, and they brought the wrong chicken club sandwich (ordered the Crazy Clubhouse but got the basic version without BBQ chips - which we were charged for). The accompanying fries were cold and unsalted. I stopped after eating half of my food and pushed my plate aside. While my partner was still eating, they came and took my plate and asked if we wanted the bill. We were never once offered a coffee or water refill, or asked if we wanted dessert -- we simply felt rushed out of there... Except it took another 15 minutes for the bill to arrive. Why? I'm not certain, as the waitress kept walking back and forth from the kitchen area to the waitress station empty-handed and/or checking the garbage can while we waited with our wallets out. Non-existent service and low-quality food for the price. Will never return.

Good food & excellent service all around! Popped by Moe’s restaurant for a late dinner; We arrived 30 minutes before they were closing and were seated with no issues. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in and we felt very comfortable the entire time! Food and side table service was also great! Pop cans were not only opened but served with glasses of ice n straws right in front of us… When we received our small pizza as a whole, it was sliced and served at the table too - Very pleased to have this done at a smaller establishment. (That’s why the whole pizza isn’t shot) I don’t order fish & chips often but I had a craving for this that night; It was delicious! The tarter sauce didn’t have enough tangy flavour but other than that personal preference, everything was great! Best part was the Cajun spiced calamari! OMG so good and very tender! Prices were very reasonable as well. I will definitely go back to try other dishes when the cravings come back for a classic meal!

The pizza i had was okay 32 bucks okay not sure ......I run buy the place for years and I saw the pizza ppl had on the patio it was crazy so I said why not ordered a large legendary (Newport deluxe) and it didn't look anything like the pizza I saw ppl eatting on the patio a far cry there was almost no cheese the lady on the patio had to fight to separate her pizza and thats what I seen many times on the patio running buy the pizza I got was meh I was expecting that same feeeling I saw on the patio the lady who served my take out was a sweet heart that being said im never going back and I own a business in the area ... for 32 dollars DO BETTER cheese LIGHT PIZZA you guys failed big time avoid this place.... call louis pizza on macarthur they arent cheap when you order

If you're looking for that Mom& Pop's Diner feel, this place has it. Cozy on the inside and a lovely patio on the outside, my experience here was positive. The staff are friendly and have excellent sense of humor with their customers. They are attentive and not too pushy. I was very impressed by the pizza nd the dessert options are wonderful. I recommend the chocolate cake. However, price inflation brought my order to $40 dollars with tip for a small pizza, can of iced tea, chocolate cake and small tea, tip included; seems a bit excessive. I will be back because the food is that good, although hoping that prices may decrease to reflect the struggles that people are going through to try to make ends meet these days. Either way, I'm saving for round two.. ☺️

If it was possible to give no stars I would. Seems like it would be good but the service was non existent. We sat for ages waiting for water, when I say ages I mean ages...we sat even longer to wait to order and then even longer for the food to arrive and when one of our party's food didn't arrive and when asked by one of the staff about the wait they joked about it, like it's funny it was taking so long and then that it was forgotten and that the person had to wait even longer for the food. We gave ample time to eat and they couldn't get us served within 2.5 hours, all of us were late for our event and the person who's food was forgotten was really late. Not a single apology, or acknowledgement of how ridiculously long things were taking. I attend events in the area regularly and won't ever eat there again.

We won't be back! We used to go when it was Donna's - was great back then! Today's service was very slow; waited at least 10 minutes to have our order taken, yet we couldn't seem to speak fast enough for the hyper server. Waited another good 15 minutes for our food. Not due to understaffing as there were at least 4 working and was not very busy. Finally got our meals, which were fresh and warm enough, but the bacon was very undercooked and the beans were store bought. The eggs and watermelon were good. When we asked for salt and pepper we were given packets while other tables had shakers and we had to ask for more. Some of these things are trivial but all together made for an unfortunate experience. Too bad cause we used to like it here.

I went there quite a few years ago, and it was pretty bad. The waiters were rude, the food was slow, and the general experience was mediocre. At a school I had gone to, you could buy pizza at lunch, and it came from this place. The pizza was waaaay too oily, had way too much cheese for its sauce, and the crust was wet.

My younger brother, 8 or 9 at the time, had gotten a lollipop there, but had dropped it on the floor before he could eat it. He went to ask for another one and was refused, because they thought he was just trying to stock up on lollipops. Not a huge grievance, but rude.

Great locally run hospitable business. I went there a few times for takeout, and then I went on my birthday a few years ago. Since it was my birthday, they gave me a free slice of cake on the house and a lottery ticket. Along with this visit and the other take-out food stops; I was able to meet Moe; and I must say he is such a stand-up; humble; generous; kind soul to this earth; and so polite amidst all the success that he has attained and reputation he has built. That is such a rare trait in a person, and I loved that brief interaction I had with him and definitely will continue being a repeat customer in future instances. Thank you Newport and Moe for building such a hospitable environment and being so embracing of people.

We love this place! They’re famous for their pizza (perfect crust, real mozzarella, super fresh veggies and tasty meats) but we’ve also ordered their salads (always fresh and crisp and colourful) and a few appetizers and have never been disappointed. Mostly take-out or via Uber Eats. We have also dined-in for breakfast and it’s one of the best traditional diner style breakfasts in the city for sure. It’s so homey. The servers knew us (even with masks on) after only a couple of visits. Homefries are skillet style with veggies (yum) and everything else is just perfect.

Finally we know where is the best thin crust pizza in Ottawa. We did try many places over the years, but never had found similar taste as in Italy. This one finally delivered, we had their pizza Stephania. Then we had a quite good apple pie with vanilla ice cream - also very good. Our server Sam was excellent, we actually had him for two days in a row. I can not say much for the rest of the menu, this is still to be tested, as we will be back. The ambience is simple, a bit outdated, but obviously with many regular customers that are here for the good food.

Trash and overpriced. The old man who would serve from time to time doesn't use a note pad and paper to right down orders therefore orders are usually incorrect. We ordered 2 dozen wings and he only brought us 1 dozen. Be carful getting the seafood salad as they use imitation crab that is incredibly WET, my salad was disgusting and soaked so I sent it back. After you send food back expect the “cooks” to say slurs about you in Arabic or broken English. I noticed the owner has an excuse for every complaint so let’s hear his excuse towards my review. The pizza crust is pretty darned good. Ain't NYC pizza, but it works...and this ain't NYC. The no-cheese pizza is the favorite in our household. Not because we're anti-cheese, but because it's a tasty pizza, and we don't even notice the missing cheese. One star lost for atmosphere because there's something missing from the decor, though it's about what one would expect from a mainly pizza restaurant. Patio in summer is pleasant though. Definitely worth trying their pizza if you have a chance!!!

This place is pretty legendary in the city and their Pizza is top notch. I've know about the for years, but I finally had their pizza a couple of months ago and it's become my go to place. In fact, it's the only pizza I crave these days and Colonade is just a few blocks away (also excllent). The staff is super friendly too, a great place to take the family, or have a beer and pizza with your buddies/significant other. It has a spacious enough patio for those hot days, and it's in a great location, tons of shops within walking distance.

I've been working in the area for awhile and today was the first time I actually went in and ordered a breakfast to go. Super fast and friendly staff and service. Breakfast was fantastic! Eggs were done exactly to what my idea of perfection is. Seated customers looked very relaxed and comfortable while enjoying their meals. Today might have been my first time ordering, but it won't be my last. Thank you! Ohh and an extra big thank you for being so patient with all the work being done around your restaurant.

Went in Thursday wasn’t sure if I wanted the pizza or the breakfast or try something else. I asked for a recommendation for lunch and the Club Sandwich was recommended. I went with it. Anyway. It was tremendous. I highly recommend it. This restaurant is awesome and I’ll be heading back over soon for breakfast with my dad.

Amazing service, food, and ambiance. The staff are so friendly and fast. The vegetarian Omelet is my favorite with their home fries. I love the posters of Elvis at this place and all the newspaper clips about the restaurant, celebrities and Elvis. The food looks great, fresh and tasty, the plates are greatly decorated. Price is reasonable. Keep up the great service. I hope the restrictions lift and we go there again. Best breakfast! You also may a chance to see Elvis!

Delicious food and great service!. I was there today, with group of eight friends ,for a Birthday celebration. The place is cozy, casual, very friendly atmosphere. Washrooms are spotless. The food is very tasty well presented, generous portions. Pizzas are just great. The service was really good. Ping, our waitress, made us feel at home. She was amazing, very efficient, friendly, polite and fast. We had a fantastic time! BTW the prices are very reasonable.

Might be the best pizza in Ottawa; not in the traditional, Italian, sense but tasty with quality toppings, good cheeses. Basic, no frills menu. Friendly family vibe. The outdoor patio is best in summer at dinner time. The owners, Moe and Donna are often on the restaurant on the cash or going table to table to chats with diners. They also offer takeout and delivery through the usual services. It's also filled with Elvis Presley memorabilia

Frequented this little gem this week for breakfast and it didn’t disappoint (as always). The service was fast and we had the friendliest server. The restaurant was asking for vaccine certificates and I was totally ok with it as it made me feel comfortable and grateful that they were thinking of the health and safety of their staff, families, and customers. Already looking forward to my next pizza from here. Keep it up, Newport!

Just ordered through skip the dishes. Small combo, hot wings, Cajun calamari and toasted raviolis with cheese and pesto dip (because the roasted vegetable dip was not a selectable option even though on the menu?) Order came without the calamari ( hope I get my refund request) and straight pesto for dipping? No cheese. Disappointing since this was my first order from Newport. Pizza and wings were good.

They have many gluten free options, such as toast, sandwiches, pizza crust. The omelette had great homemade taste, the potatoes as sides were very tasty. I also had pizza, which was good but nothing amazing.

Had the steak and eggs, steak was of amazing quality. Eggs were large and home fries were made with pride. Staff is very kind and friendly. You can be served here in English, French or Arabic. Great value and excellent quality! Parking is limited, but it's right between Dominion and Westboro station's, so taking public transportation to there is easy. Fancy desserts are available here too.

Classic dinner breakfast ! They have gluten free bread for those of us who can’t eat it. Their potatoes are also gluten free. Pretty tasty, and quick/ efficient service.

This is the best restaurant for breakfast that I have ever been in--anywhere! Of course anytime is a good time to eat at the Newport, and I highly recommend it. If you are fortunate to meet either Donna or Moe, the owners, they are the nicest people on the planet and so are all of the staff. Take the family there for dinner sometime, and I know you won't be disappointed.

I've loved this place since I was a child, and was incredibly pleased to know that all these years later, their pizza is as great and service as friendly as ever. It's so nice to see an owner and family take such pride in what they do, and the results are fantastic. Would recommend for anyone anywhere in Ottawa looking for pizza. It's worth heading out for.

Stopped in for breakfast and a coffee while waiting for our pet to be done at the vet. We were one of 3 tables in the place. The second we were done eating the waitress brought us our bill and asked us to pay. We asked if we could sit for a while longer and she said it gets busy at lunch time. She made us feel very unwelcome. Won’t be going back.

Amazing food with great service! My husband had the tortellini and I have the chicken parmesan with spaghetti. We also split a small salad. The pasta was the perfect temperature, hot but not tongue burning hot.Our server Linda was awesome at recommending suggestions and portion sizes. Super friendly environment. Would for sure go back.

I walked and it was cozy. The customer service lacked attention. When I sat down I was offered a coffee right away. I had to ask for the menus, since the server was busy with friends. I was a little disappointed when I seen how big the plates were for the meals we got. It seemed like less food on the plate. But the food was delicious.

We love going to the Newport. It's the kind of place "where everybody knows your name". The owner is an outstanding citizen whose good works are legion , our server Sam, couldn't be more professional or sweeter and the liver with onions& mushrooms is delicious! So are the pizzas that my family& friends always order.

I have been dining to this restaurant many times from the past 10 years, and the owner (Moe) is doing a lot for the community. I try to support those small and family run businesses. We had breakfast, our server( Ping) was lovely, attentive and friendly! See you next time.

This place has yet to disappoint us. Even though it's a little bit of a drive for us , its worth it every single time. This past weekend, we went and treated some friends for some Newport pizza, as they had never tried it. Our friends were just as happy as we always are. Best Pizza in Ottawa hands down.

The pizza is awesome, but lately I'm having breakfast there a lot. My go-to favorite is the Italian Connection omelet - tomato, onion, provolone and basil. Yum! My husband loves their burger and house salad dressing. The staff is terrific, and they've all worked there for years - always a good sign.

Pizza toppings were sparse and tasted stale, food was over-priced, $3 for a can of pop should at least give you a free refill but it does not. Not the first subpar experience I've had here over the past few years but it will be the last, I'm afraid. It's too bad as the couple who owns it are lovely.

Moe gave me a good old fashioned eye roll for never eating at his place!! On his recommendation, I went for the breakfast...omelette with beans, bacon & potatoes. It was an amazing breakfast...nice patio,. Coffee was hot....overall excellent meal and a wonderful man behind it all. Will be back!!

We had english style fish 'n chips. Portion was large fish was awesome. They batter it themselves and it was NOT the typical huge lump of batter with a slimy bit of fish hidden inside. Large piece of haddock with just enough batter and the home made fries were an awesome delight. Loved it

We were looking for a patio, found Moe's and we were pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff and a cozy patio. We had the calamari to start, which was delicious, especially since it came with a nice salad! Pizza was great, the kind that has light dough, lots of toppings but not crazy greasy.

We had the eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce was delicious. The plates come with FRESH fruit salad. Fast and friendly service. Agreeable prices. Great spot for breakfast!

The pizza is very good, hot and fresh and good ingredients. Their other food is quite good, somewhat diner-ish in flavour. Good sized portions. Service is about average - what you'd expect from a pizza joint. I do wish they had 2 for 1 deals, but otherwise a decent establishment.

We’ve always enjoyed the gourmet pizzas, it’s been a while since we ordered again. It’s interesting to try all sorts of different things on pizza. Love the Thai chicken. Crust is thin, not sure about the tomato on the margarita pizza, it seems overpowering the sauce.

A great place for breakfast. Good portions, delightful service, and fair prices. Our server found out it was my birthday, and I was surprised with a slice of delicious chocolate cake and "happy birthday" that got the whole dining room involved. Fun Elvis decor.

Moe and Donna are fabulous people. Their leadership encourages friendly behavior from their staff. It's always a pleasure to drop in for lunch. The service is good and the food is better. If you are in the neighbourhood drop in and say hi, you won't regret it.

Somehow this place manages to find the right balance between cheese to sauce ratio with the right amount of toppings and a crust that is both crunchy on the base but fluffy and light. Truly the best pizza Ottawa has to offer. Don't pass up this one!

After a long day at work I decided to try their pizza for the first time. I call and I couldn’t reach them so I went there for a pick up, I did order and the answer was 30-35 min , so to kill time I was waiting in my car , came back waited

As always, the food is made with a grade you only get at home. Fattoush salad was amazing. Check Moe's out for everything. Some of the best pizza in Ottawa, great breakfast and traditional fare, but never skip the Lebanese fare. So damn good.

My husband and I had the Lebanese special, wow, so good, so much food, very friendly and attentive service, would highly recommend, our waitress was wonderful. We will definitely be back.

Neat place to see with all the Elvis paraphernalia. But that's about it. It's certainly not a relaxing date night atmosphere. It was pretty busy and there were servers racing around everywhere. One of the ladies bumped into my 8 year old

Relaxed atmosphere and run by super friendly people. We tried some really beautiful specialty pizzas on thin crispy crust, one with pears and gorgonzola and the other was Thai inspired with bean sprouts and peanut sauce.

Hands down one of my favourite pizza joints in Westboro! Delicious cheese, great toppings and perfectly cooked crust. I would highly recommend the Popeyes Best pizza. It is ridiculously good and unique in flavour.

Great pizza, fantastic service and a wonderfully friendly atmosphere. Always enjoy my time here in this local landmark. Also, I appreciate their close attention to all the COVID-19 precautions. Highly recommend!

The food is amazing and at great prices. The staff is very welcoming. Our waitress was quick and very kid friendly. And the retro theme is really cool. It's a definite must when visiting Ottawa.

Just enjoyed the gourmet pizza. Lovely. Tasty and crisp this crust. Loved the many vegetarian options. The mushroom might be my favorite but the Bianca and the Margherita were very nice too.

Great place to have lunch! I'm there every week. Don't even have to order a drink the waitress is awesome and brings it with the menus.

One of my favorite breakfast spots. Coffee is great and servers are always so nice and friendly (and keep the coffee coming!) Can be a bit loud if crowded.

Pizza has nothing to prove; one of the best in the region. One thing that's underrated is the dessert. They have Tiramisu, and it's good.

The menu has a pretty wide selection. I had the veggie burger which was pretty decent, and the pizzas look great too!
