"APPARENTLY, NO ONE WHO THAT HAS WALKED THIS TRAIL HAS NOTICED THE VERY "LOW GUARD RAIL" THAT RUNS PART OF THE LENGTH, TOWARDS THE SHERMAN CUT"
"Nice park with trees, a walking/biking trail, play structures for kids, at the edge of the escarpment with great views of the city"
"Mountain drive is place up on mountain from where you can have a look on entire Hamilton, some part of Burlington, Ontario lake, Toronto, CNtower and a beautiful view"
"Hi, I will be talking about a park that I went to yesterday [Thursday may, 7, 2015] and it was called mountain drive park"
"Lovely park with some great views"
APPARENTLY, NO ONE WHO THAT HAS WALKED THIS TRAIL HAS NOTICED THE VERY "LOW GUARD RAIL" THAT RUNS PART OF THE LENGTH, TOWARDS THE SHERMAN CUT. IT IS A VERY, VERY STEEP DROP. A KID, ANIMAL OR PERSON NOT PAYING ATTENTION AND TALKING WILDLY ON THEIR CELL PHONE COULD EASILY FALL AND TRIP. MAYBE THE CITY IS LOOKING FOR MORE LAWSUITS!!!! UNFORTUNATELY, THERE WAS A HIGHER GUARDRAIL THAT WAS IN PLACE BEFORE THAT WAS TAKEN DOWN DUE TO AGE. INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE SAME HEIGHT, THE CITY DECIDED THAT COST CUTTING WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SAFETY, JUST LIKE THEY THOUGHT WHEN THEY DID THE RED HILL VALLEY PARKWAY AND CUT COSTS SO PEOPLE DIED AND WERE INJURED NEEDLESSLY AND SENSELESSLY. LETS HOPE WHEN ANDREA HORWATH GETS IN AS MAYOR OF HAMILTON SHE WILL FIX THESE COST CUTTING MEASURES THAT IMPACT THE SAFETY OF THE CITIZENS OF HAMILTON.
Nice park with trees, a walking/biking trail, play structures for kids, at the edge of the escarpment with great views of the city. Currently it is under renovation. The city is making new washroom, pavilion and other new amenities. This year homeless people have moved in to the park and there are a few tents along the east portion of the trail.
Playground
old play structures for kids are functional at the moment but may get replaced with new ones.
Restrooms
currently under construction
Picnic area
currently under construction.
Mountain drive is place up on mountain from where you can have a look on entire Hamilton, some part of Burlington, Ontario lake, Toronto, CNtower and a beautiful view. Mountain drive park is also a perfect place for workout, you see a lot of people doing exercises in the evening, eventually at the dead end in west, there are kentworth stairs which are 498 in countings and a perfect exercise for legs if we go up and then down. Ultimately, i love the place, i go there everyday. Thanks.
Hi, I will be talking about a park that I went to yesterday [Thursday may, 7, 2015] and it was called mountain drive park. It was okay because there were so many different things. A huge structure, it had a climbing worm, it had swings and baby swings, the most awesome thing was the huge building that had shade so we can eat. The most beautiful thing was the field with all the yellow dandy lions. it looked like there was yellow grass that is what I thought of the park.
Lovely park with some great views. I can talk here in about 20-25 minutes with my dog, Ollie (I used to always take my old girl Matilda here as well, one of the first places I took her when I adopted her from the SPCA, along with her 'sister' Suki the Shiba Inu and before Matilda, Hamish the Scottie). For some interesting wildlife sightings, watch out for the vultures! They raise their young on the escarpment.
Dog-friendliness
dog friendly but please leash
Such a spectacular view... to a certain extent. With a beautiful walkway lined with a stone railing, it's picturesque! You can see almost all of lower Hamilton. The downside is the pollution producing Stelco and other industries to also view. It was either fog or just the smog hovering over the valley. That aside, it is a pretty incredible view! I definitely recommend stop and take the time to take it in!
Very chill park. There are only two areas that really have shade, so on hot days it might be better to go to a shadier park. However, the playground is quite good and offers a wide variety of activities. The noise from the street can be distracting, but the park has great views and a great vibe. Jice grass, and a path that runs along the mountain brow.
Mountain drive park is a beautiful park located at the edge of the hills. It has a long walking trails, number of seats for relaxing and kids playing playing areas. You can come with your kids and pets to this place, they all will enjoy the evening walks. This part is located in the quiet neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this place.
Great place for a walk along the mountain brow with unobstructed views over Hamilton and on a clear day, all the way to Toronto. Concession Street is just a block away if you want a coffee, snack or great ice cream to enjoy while you stroll. Especially pretty right now with the leaves changing colour.
Best view in the city, I wish there were more benches or flowers in the patches after grass along this walk to make it nicer. I feel like some tables in one of the patches of grass with those checker boards on them would be nice. Just sitting with some friends playing some games and enjoying the view
This is a very nice and big park. Good playground equipment for kids. Lots of open space to play games. Great multipurpose pathway with a beautiful view along the top of the escarpment for walkers, runners, cyclists, etc. And it has good parking (free, 2 hr limit)
The park and walk way have amazing views of the lower city. Some of the walk way is cracked do to tree root movement or erosion from the moutain side. It is still a great place for a scenic walk with an incredible view of the city of hamilton.
Little park along the mountain brow. Nice view of Downtown Hamilton. Some weird people hang around and there is a lot of old shoes, boots, and other clothing scattered in the park and on picnic tables. Children's park with slides and swings.
Great place to walk the dog but there are very few garbage cans .you end up carrying the dog waste home . there used to be lots of cans but the deliquent childeren toss them over the mountain brow into the woods below at night.
I'm Riley and I went to concession park\mountain drive park. I ranked it 3 stars because it was cool but not the best because the rocks got in my shoes a bunch. I liked every thing there and I would stay if I had a choice.
A nice park..you can walk at least a kilometer at the edge of the escarpment. Part of it is heavily treed but walk further toward the hospital and there is an excellent view of the city and lake below.
Haven't been here in years and was happy to see thengreat condition the park is in! Well maintained and surprisingly busy. Was cool to see how many people showed up to watch the sunset as we did.
Looking for a nice place to walk and an amazing view of the Hamilton city? Then this is the perfect spot for walk + view . It does lack garbage bins, so dispose your waste properly
Great park to bring the dog or kids. Wonderful path along the escarpment, and very well treed for shade. They recently took out the pavilion, but hopefully they replace it with a new one.
It's a really large park, it's very family friendly. I used to bring my son here when he was a little guy. There are swings, slides etc. Very large area for any sort of outdoor activity.
Awesome view of the city along the walking trail. Some people were playing badminton while we were there. Also others were walking their dogs. Nice and clean area to get some fresh air.
Beautiful view of east and central Hamilton, it doesn't look like it from the street but it has a huge area to chill out and relax.. plenty of grass and also a playground for the kids.
Beautiful sights to see and enjoy! Quaint little park to see the downtown area of Hamilton, Ontario. Nice place to enjoy a quick break and fresh air. Enjoyable day and evening time!
Nice neighbourhood park with playground and scenic hamilton city view trail along the escarpment. Parking for few cars but park is not too busy, you would find parking.
Recently renovated, beautiful view of the steel city. You can also see a lot wildlife if you look closely and usually can see vultures passing by during the evening
Beautiful park with a lovely view of the city. Fantastic for biking, skateboarding or even picnicking. Not especially large, but it's a beautiful use of the space.
Nice clean park with views of the escarpment. Good sized playing area for kids and free public parking. Lots of grass to lay out a blanket and have a picnic.
Excellent views. Hamilton is cleaning up well. Quiet and tranquil which is somewhat unexpected, but certainly welcome. Great for walks and photography.
One of the best places to park and take in the view of downtown Hamilton, Hamilton East, Skyway Bridge, Lake Ontarion and the downtown Toronto skyline
A very nice park and being on the mountain there is a great view of Hamilton. I like to walk there with my dog and through the neighborhood as well.
We went here several times. Great park! The kids really liked the play ground swings and slides. Easily spend an hour or two here. Ample parking.
I run past this park a few times a week. It's well maintained and has a nice playground. It's rare to find dog poop here too, which is nice.
Nice park to go for a walk and enjoy the amazing view that offers. You can see the majority of Hamilton and the lake from the park
It's nice to look out over the edge over the lower city and across the lake to Toronto. Some parking is available which is free.
Enjoy a lazy stroll through the park with great views and a big play area for kids, swings, and outdoor skating in winter.
Very dandelion filled field at this time of year, but its clean and breezy. If you wanna sit, bring a blanket.
Great place a walk the dog. Full view of the city below. A tad harder to see when the tree are full of leaves.
If you can get a spot its worth going for a walk here both in the day and at night. The views are spectacular
The scenery here is so beautiful! It's a great walking area and pretty public as many people use this park.
Also went to the play area with grandson. Walkway was plowed. Still snow covered in spots due to drifting.
Nice place to stop and take in the view. Nice park and parking is ample along the mountain escarpment.
Great job by Scott Duval and Monique Taylor.....Sonny Del Rio and the 5 star Review is always awesome
Not much to do here, just a short path along the mountain brow and a small jungle gym area for kids.
Nice place to walk the dog but a serious lack of garbage cans now. Dont know what happened to them
Nice trail to go for a walk day or night well lite for night walk. Lots of spots for photography.
It's very good. Some dog owners don't follow the rules 5% most do. City does a good job …
Nice park overlooking the city centre below. Not too busy and a good playground for the kids.
Small park. Path runs across mountain brow. So great view of city. Nor much else to speak of.
Great walking area. Friendly people and dogs. The grass etc could be cared for better though.
I loved it there. I was able to walk for one and a half hours. Beautiful day, beautiful walk.
Great park very open and open area.. the random homeless vagrant wandering. Nice play parks
Great zen place to be for a tranquil transfer of excess energy out of the body and mind.
Amazing view great parking lots of fun on a sunny day You Can See For Miles go visit it!
Nice park to ride your bike and get a perfect view of this part of the city at anytime.
I love this view from the end of my street. It's a very pleasant walk along the brow.
Great park for a walk, lots of room to play sports or bring dogs. Not many pokestops
A great place to enjoy a coffee and spectacular city view in the evening!! …
I have always enjoyed being in this park.. Such a great place, kind people...
Even on a stormy, blustery day it was beautiful. So quiet and picturesque.
