My concern with this company is the poor service, poor communication, and unprofessionalism. To be charged an extra $1000 with all of these issues is unacceptable. This was my first long-distance move, and I have learned a lot, most importantly that I will never, ever be using Moving Forward America and the subcontractor American Family Movers (Atlanta, GA) again. There is very clearly a communication breakdown occurring between the two companies that neither party is working to address. My belongings were picked up in Nashville, TN, on 5/23 to ensure prompt delivery by 5/31 in Rochester, MN, just under 800 miles away. The week of the move, I called MFA customer service with specific questions on how to pack items like a bicycle and plastic bins that did not have lids. I was assured both of these items would be fine as they were. I got a call on Tuesday morning, 5/21, asking if my belongings could be picked up early. I was at work so I couldn't accommodate, and I told them I could be ready on Thursday, 5/23. On 5/23 I received a call that the movers would be there between 8-10 am. They did not arrive until after 11:30 am. I paid an additional $75 in boxes and packing fees. During the quoting process, I disclosed the amount of large furniture I have and provided an accurate estimate of how many boxed I'd have. For whatever reason, MFA's quote grossly underestimated the number of belongings I had. On moving day, I wound up paying an extra $900, in addition to the original estimate. However, I needed to move my stuff, and since it would arrive in a week (or so I was told), I figured I could deal with it. I called MFA customer service that day to share my experience, and they said they would send me an email with information to file a claim. The lead mover was incredibly kind and hard-working, and he assured me that he or someone from his company (American Family Movers) would give me an update on my things every 24-48 hours. This was not the case at all.By Wednesday, 5/29 I still hadn't received an email from MFA to file a claim, so I called customer service, and the rep told me I wouldn't be able to file a claim until my belongings arrived at their final destination. I also didn't get an update on the location of my things. On Thursday, 5/30, I got an update that my belongings were estimated to arrive on Saturday, 6/1 or Sunday, 6/2, and that I could expect a call from the driver. I flew from Nashville to Rochester on Friday, 5/31 and still hadn't heard from the driver. When I called for an update, I learned my belongings would be delivered early the following week. This was frustrating, but manageable since I'd packed an air mattress and a few necessities. I didn't receive any more updates the rest of the weekend. On Sunday, 6/3, I was told MFA would call me right back, but they never did. I received a call from MFA Monday, 6/4, and was told my belongings would be loaded no later than Tuesday morning, 6/4, with a delivery date of Thursday, 6/6. I called again Wednesday, 6/12 to see if my stuff was going to be delivered that day to both American Family Movers and MFA. MFA had thought that I would have heard from a driver by this time, but stated they would get in touch and have American Family Movers contact me. I received a call from the driver and was updated by the driver that my things would arrive that afternoon, and to the driver’s credit he did update me when he was delayed. The unloading and unpacking process was fairly smooth, except that my apartment was more than 50 ft from the truck, so I was going to be charged for the long distance the drivers would have to use to deliver my belongings in order to get to the elevator. I, however, did not get a copy of this long-distance form at the time of pick up and was now facing another $150 charge. This is unacceptable. It is not OK that I spent an unforeseen $1,000 on the move and had to spend nearly two weeks in an empty apartment. I cannot reach Moving Forward America by phone anymore. States “the person you are calling cannot accept calls at this time”!

TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE and DISHONEST company! RUN AWAY if you are thinking of moving through them. When we originally were setting up our move with them, we told them the day that we needed it by, May 31st. They gave up the pick of date of May 17 in order to get it to us by May 31 (from Idaho to Flordia). We booked with them a few month prior as well. The day before the move, they sent us the name of the moving company they set us up with: American Eagle Movers. We looked them up and they were NOT DOT certified! We called them up, very concerned. They then told us that the moving company was actually called Interstate Relocation Services, they had just changed their name a few times, not to worry. Still concerned, we asked if we could up our insurance from the ONE option they gave us: 60 cents per pound. We were told no. (We later found out that legally we have to be given two insurance options, which they never did!). Being stuck with travel tickets, we ended up going with this company. They didn't arrive until the night of May 18th. We found out they were late by calling the actual moving company, because Moving Forward America couldn't get us any information about our drivers and their ETA. Throughout of WHOLE MOVE they couldn't get us the information we asked for. We eventually ended up not even calling them, but calling the actual moving company. Glad they were doing their broker job, not. We got to Flordia and called to check on the ETA of our belongings. Moving Forward informed us that our things were not coming on the actual move in day we had set up with them, and that legally they had 21 business days to get it to us. 21 business days was not until June 17th! We ended up spending a lot of money rebuying essentials that they were moving for us just so that we could live in our apartment until they arrived! We called them EVERY DAY for 18 days AFTER our move in day, asking where our things were and when we were getting it. At the beginning of every week they told us we would get our thing by the coming Friday. That coming Friday always came and left and when we would call we were told that no one in their office would have told us that our things were coming. They had no idea where our things were. After making a TON of calls, we discovered from the moving company dispatch that our things were just sitting in a storage unit in Dallas TX. We even called the DOT number that was on record for Interstate Relocation Services and the number went to someone's MOTHER. We even had to provide Moving Forward America the number to dispatch because they couldn't even get ahold of company they set us up with! 21 business days came and went and we still had no ETA on our things. We were told by Moving Forward that when our things did arrive, we would not have to pay the driver since they were so late. We were expressing our concern to Megan at Moving Forward America regarding if we were even ever going to get our things. For all we knew, they had been stolen. Megan ended up hanging up on us. Comforting and very professional, right? Our things finally arrived on June 25 at TWO IN THE MORNING. We were 25 days past (17 business days) when we were told our things were arrive. They had our things for a TOTAL of 39 days. And we still had to pay the driver. Moving Forward America stopped answering our phone calls BEFORE our things even arrived. We would call all day, every 15 minutes, and no one would answer. We even called them on a different phone after trying to call them on the one we normally used, and they answered the first ring. We were promised a refund by them, but how can we get our refund if they are not answering our calls anymore? Also, a bunch of our things came DAMAGED. Motorcycle, desk, dresser, and boxes were in shambles. Please, spend a little more money and go with a better company! They were a nightmare to work with!

Con Job!!! Stay Away!! Read This!! Save yourself now before it’s too late. Even if you already gave this company your money, just walk away now. My wife and I hired this company because of their great salespitch when/if they get you on the phone. This is the only thing they are good at. Its lies after lies with these people. I am personally a truck broker and thought I should hire a fellow truck broker to keep me from getting ripped off. The whole process was a nightmare from the beginning. They hired a moving company that didn’t even have truck insurance. I didn’t even think this was possible, it is. To be clear the truck company that they hired did get insurance on the day that they picked up our belongings. This is unheard of in the trucking industry. The whole process is a scam job. I had a 900 sq ft apartment. I ended up paying three times the original quote. This isn’t the part that was bad. It took the actual moving company that they hired three days to pick up our belongings, once they finally showed up. On the second night my wife bought the movers pizza and pop for dinner. After they ate they left, said they would be back. They came back the next day, the third day to finish picking up our belongings. 900 sq ft is not a big place. Here is where it gets very shady. The day the moving company was to show up to unpack our belongings they demanded $1,600.00 (MORE) on top of everything because they said they couldn’t fit a truck on my street. I told Moving Forward people this and they wanted me to prove that a truck could fit on my street. There was just a “wide-load” tractor trailer on my street this week. The only way to prove this is to find a semi on your street the day of and take a picture (I couldn’t do this in such a short window). I ended up having to pay the actual moving company almost four thousand dollars, in cash, the day they arrived. Once they started moving our furniture in, almost everything was damaged. I’m talking not usable. The people moving our belongings in were just as appalled. They couldn’t even tell me if the original truck had been in an accident. Dylan, the owner of Moving Forward, did apologize and told me I would be refunded. Only the portion I paid them which was just short of $900.00. That was three weeks ago. I have yet to receive a check. I could go on and on. I haven’t include many other details. You get the jist.

Our experience was a complete nightmare! Please beware of this company! They brokered out our move to a company called “Energy Moving Systems” who literally destroyed 95% of our items. It started with the movers were supposed to arrive at our house at 3pm on December 27th 2018, they did not get there until 2:30pm on December 28th 2018 which was our “Back up” day. When they got there they worked slow and joked that they “get paid by the hour”. Then I ran out at 5pm and bought them pizza and coke for dinner. They ate it all and by 6:30pm told my husband they were all tired and would be back by 8am on December 29th 2018. On December 29th 2018 only 2 guys showed up and that was at 9:45 am. They loaded up the rest of our stuff and one guy asked if he could keep my rugs! On the day of delivery Legs were broken off of our couch, Entertainment center and antique dresser. Our Mirrored dressers were smashed. Our beautiful wooden round kitchen table was flat on one side because it was dropped. I was opening boxes of broken glass because all of our boxes were smashed coming off of the truck. Our bookshelf left our house assembled and wrapped and arrived at our new house broken in pieces and no longer assembled, just wrapped and taped in a blanket. We paid an extra charge to have our mattresses covered and they were not. I’ve been picking out wood splinters and trying to get grease marks out of our new Temperpedic mattress all week. Our box springs are full of grease and torn. The price of the move ended up costing over double what they had originally quoted. They ONLY take cash or postal check... and will not unload the truck until you pay them in full! There are fees that they put in the contract that are extra and totaled almost an additional $2600.00, they claim they point it out before you sign but they didn’t. Even the delivery people kept apologizing and said they have never seen so much damage on one delivery! I have sent numerous emails asking to speak to the owner and he will not call me at all! This clearly speaks volumes. Please save yourself the stress, tears and money and research throughly. This company had a great rating however, when we dug a little deeper we found the company they broker the move to has done the same thing to many others.

Will never use them again. They have good customer service but they charge for everything. They are so nice but they don't explain how they really work. You call and get a quote from a broker. They make it sound cheap and like your making the best decision. Then once they take you money you can't get a refund if you change your mind. Then the broker doesn't explain that you need to put everything in a box. They charge for the moving blankets, tape, and bubble wrap. They wrap your furniture and disassemble it. They moved the pick up date on use 2 times. They got to our apartment late and left late. They charge by the square footage that you take up on their truck. You don't get your own truck. Your stuff is labeled and stuffed in a big truck with other people's stuff. We where moving from California to Texas but didn't have a place yet.the broker told us they had a storage in Texas and when we had a apartment just call and they will deliver our stuff. After two weeks we found an apartment and called almost every day for 3 days. It took me talking to the owner to get a moving delivery date. We had only paid 50% of the fee once they took our stuff. And delivery we had to pay the rest. We waited 3 weeks for them to deliver it because our stuff was in Las Vegas not in Texas like we where told. We had to call every day to see when we will get our stuff and the broker had no answers and we got the run around. When we finally got a delivery date they got here late. And wanted to charge us extra because their truck didn't fit in the front gate. They did bring everything up stairs fast. But some of our stuff was damaged and they didn't re assemble our furniture. I will never use them again because they kept changing the price and making it more. We ended up paying 4k and it was just a headache. The only good experience we got was with the broker but he didn't explain the contract at all. I felt like they just took my money and over charged me. I will never use a broker to find movers for me again. Don't waist your time and money with these people.

Here's to my first google review! I honestly had to cool down for a couple months before I wrote this. If you are moving from the Midwest to the southern east coast, or anywhere really, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I had a HORRIBLE experience with MFA and their sub-contracted company, American Knights Moving Company (except for you, Joe). Aside from overpaying (Robert, you were kind, but you really got me), I was given an estimate for delivery of 4-14 [business] days, but was told on the phone that this route would end up being closer to 2 days. This was not the case. I received my items on business day 17 (~3 weeks) and many of them were damaged and or broken. The late and broken items were no match for the awful customer service. Many phone calls were made without follow up, and false information was given numerous times. I even experienced rudeness over the phone. As soon as I thought my furniture would be delivered, I was contacted by the delivery man, who told me that he was going to go make an additional stop in the opposite direction of my delivery site, and therefore would not make the delivery on the expected delivery date. My experience with this company was unfortunately awful. I don't know how a moving company can expect their customers to be without furniture or belongings for 3 weeks. This was an extremely frustrating time, and it could have been a better experience for ALL parties with greater communication. In conclusion, I'd highly recommend strapping all of your belongings to your very back before using this company. Pic: Broken lamp, bookshelf, and mirror. Not PBO (packed by owner).

I had to move from New York to Florida really quickly. I'm a single mom and had no idea how to do this myself. I entered my information online, at first when I received a lot of phone calls I felt overwhelmed and a little annoyed. I narrowed it down to 3 people, one of those was Moving Forward America. They kept in contact with me after my initial deposit and I was still a little scared but the movers did show up on time, and treated me with respect and worked hard. The only extra charge I incurred was due to the drivers having to walk a block because of where my apartment is located in NYC. This was about $100 and it mde sense to me because they were doing mroe work and carrying my couch and stuff a pretty long distance. My delivery took a couple days. When I received my belongings, the only complaint I had was a picture was damaged, but I called and Moving Forward Americas customer service people helped me go through insurance and I was written a check. I would recommend Moving Forward America to anyone looking to move long distance.

MOVING FORWARD AMERICA the most deceptive company and unprofessional when it comes to refunds..... I have cancelled a move from NJ to NC with in the allotted time on their contract due to a canceled home purchase. The night I cancelled the move the company withdrew the Deposit out of my bank account.. that was on May 1st, $472.87 I have called them trying to get my refund up to today. I have spoken to them and e-mailed them with no response other than the finance dept will get back in touch with you..They NEVER have. I filled out a Better Business Bureau complaint ans the ignored that also you can check it on the web site. I am now hiring a lawyer in Nashville Tenn. to pursue the credit and all of the expenses i will incur during this aggravating process. this company is nothing but a SCAM Please DON'T USE THEM FOR ANYTHING UNLESS YOU LIKE LIARS AND CHEATS.. I was required to post one star however they are unworthy of even a 1/2.

I needed to relocate from New York to Florida. I contacted Moving forward America LLc and from the first conversation, I felt it was a great choice. I didn’t feel rushed or fast talked. The rep. Was very detailed and explained everything. I sent pictures of items to be shipped and was given a great quote. I set a date and the rest was history. The guys came out and carefully wrapped all my items with perfection and I lived on the third floor I must add. Derrick and Jose did an amazing job. My husband and I were Impressed. Five days later my items were delivered safe and sound. Still perfectly wrapped . Believe you me, if you need realiable movers , give Moving America LLc a call. Thanks again Guys Kim Williamson

They will lie and steal your money. I received a binding moving estimate and two days before the move they did not even have a carrier. They said they were going to have to charge thousands of dollars more than the estimate. When I asked for my deposit back they blocked my calls. The BBB could not help me as Moving forward America did not respond to their calls either. They will take your money and you will never see it again. The BBB gives them a rating of F. Look at the BBB site and you will see I am telling the truth.

  • Carissa Engelbert

My estimate was more than $1000 off! The day of the scheduled move, movers showed up and ended up demanding more than $1000 OVER what I was estimated just a few weeks before. Then they couldn't give me even a rough date to expect arrival of my belongings. On top of it, their supposed "24/7 customer service" is a total ploy and NOT true in any way shape or form. Weekend hours are limited and staffed by a total of two people. The absolute WORST move I've EVER experienced. I am livid I even gave them a dime.

So I got a new job in OK and i was super excited but had never moved out of the state of NC before. I entered my information in online and i got a call from Louis The Marine from Moving Forward America , he helped my wife and i through this very stressful process. I don't often write reviews but Louis was a straight shooter and explained the process very well and seemed to care for my wife and I.

Great Experience with Moving Forward America. Couldn't be happier. Pick up went well, no extra charges. Customer service kept us up too speed about the status of our delivery. Delivery happened within the 5 to 7 days that was requested. only negative, a lamp was broken but we called and they took care of it. Very happy.

  • Jonathon Dunn

Our HHG were picked up on May 24th and have still yet to receive our goods as of 7/2. Every time I contacted them they give the same response, "we are trying to find a truck headed your way." My family is spending so much money not having our stuff and what we need, like clothes, cookware, cleaning products, etc.

  • Shawn Kaedyn

  • Cory Rasmussen

Moving Forward America was a pleasure to do business with. They moved me from New York to Florida, and it was a smooth transition. They were a bit more expensive than the other quotes I received, but well worth the money. I will definitely use them again!

  • Richard Kettleborough

Thanks again for your perfect service. Movers worked fast and hard. All my furniture were covered by blankets and wrapped by plastic film. They packed my kitchen and living room in boxes. Movers were extremely polite and professionally.

  • Mike Fleming

These guys and girls are pros. Hey stayed in contact through the whole scheduling process. When the moving day came, they wrapped everything. Very careful and quick working. I was happy to have them in my home Thanks!!

  • Mark Mitchells

My movers were amazing! They were so polite and professional, they went above and beyond. It was so fast and easy to work with them. The next time I move I’m going to hire Moving Forward America again.
