"Greatest Chinese restaurant I ever went to"
"Food is very tasting and plentiful"
"Good local neighborhood place"
"I usually order from here and my family loves the food"
I wanted to give this place a try I honestly did. But most of these reviews are right. Walking into the place the lady was looking at me like I was in the wrong place. We sat down and someone came over to us took our order. I ordered edamame as an APP it never came. The main dish came out and so did the Edamame. I told my waitress this was suppose to be an appetizer I'm not eating this now with my meal. She said "So u don't want it" umm NO it was suppose to come first. That's what an appetizer is...anyway I ordered the Bento box with teriyaki salmon, veggie tempura. The salmon was overcooked and was probably only 2oz, it was rubber. And the veggie tempura was hard and chewy gross I didn't eat most of the box, the lady ( not my waitress btw) came and asked me if everything was OK I said no the salmon was overcooked hard and not good. They could see I hardly touched my plate. She took the food back and they brought me my check. Charged me $18 and change for a plate I didn't even eat. They took nothing off my bill. The lady at the front didn't even say thank you when I paid my bill. They should of comped that plate but it's OK I will never go back to this place and I don't recommend anyone else do. It looks like they cater to people they know only. Because she had a very different tune when a couple walked in that she knew by name......What a horrible experience. They don't even deserve the 1 star.

Greatest Chinese restaurant I ever went to. Cindy was one of best hostesses ever. I got there early to bring a cake to surprise my mother in law. I explained to Cindy that after you clear the entrees bring out the cake singing happy birthday in Chinese, and she said "ok" with the waiter right there hearing our whole conversation . So begin we our meal and this waiter was one of the worst I've ever had. It wouldn't have killed him to crack a smile once or twice, and everything I requested was a big ordeal for him. And now the waiter, who's name is Fam, comes out to the table with the cake, puts in on the table, and lights the candles at the TABLE. Then he says happy birthday. Cindy comes over and I ask what's going on and reminded her of my request, and she says "I'll take care of it." She goes over to the waiter, and tells him what I asked for. It was only then that they started singing. So I ask Fam "Is this the way you always do things here? It's very unusual to just drop the cake on the table and just say 'here's dessert' for a surprise." He said that was how they always do things, and that was BULLSHIT! It is definitely a five star restaurant, Cindy was a five star hostess, but MAKE SURE you never get the waiter named Fam!
Food is very tasting and plentiful. Have not gone in years as the family did not like it the last time we went. Went online to check out the menu and low and behold, to it had offerings from the old days in Parchester. We gave it another try and the food was excellent. Love the crackers and tea as you eat too much amd end up taking your meal home. The oil used for the fried wontons really brings out the taste. The Pu Pu Platter has alot of appetizers.Ended up taking some of them home as a party of 3 could not finish it and its only for 2. The wonton soup is delicuous and the hot and sour soup tastes as I remember from the old days. The star of the meal was the butterfly shrimp. When we went a few years ago, it was not on the menu and the waitress did not know what we were asking for. Once we saw it was back on the menu, we knew it was time to go back. It tastes and looks the same as it did when it was in Parchester. We were so impressed with the food and service that we have gone back a few more times after and never left disappointed. Also left with dinner for the next evening from the large portion received.

Good local neighborhood place. Part of a very tiny strip mall off of East Tremont Ave. went during very early afternoon between 2P and 3:30P. Customers all locals. Sushi was good. Cantonese food tasted like Cantonese food, what can I say? Nothing out of the ordinary. Nice relaxed ambiance- again, very early afternoon though when children are in school and there were a lot of local retirees. Attentive staff overall. Everyone said thank you when we left. Has a full service cocktail lounge bar. So, whatever drinks you want if you’re into that. Can’t complain. An overall pleasant local neighborhood Cantonese restaurant. Fairly nicely appointed inside. I was pleasantly surprised overall. Have been living in Throggs Neck about three years and little by little becoming acquainted with the restaurants. This was a fairly inexpensive friendly place and the dishes were filling. The majority of the few tables with customers took some food home with them. Great place if your budget conscious and want a pleasant evening out to dinner. Would recommend certainly.

I usually order from here and my family loves the food. As of recently, they have become so rude. The lady who took my order charged me for 4 chicken wing orders and we only ordered two orders. When I called letting them know the error. They were super nasty to me. She let me know someone would pick up the extra orders of chicken wings and issue me a refund. No one came to the house. I called the next day asking what they would like to do with the chicken wings since I was specifically asked to hold on to the chicken wings. She told me to bring the chicken wings in so I can get a refund. My boyfriend is annoyed at this point because they are being unprofessional. He brings the wings and the lady opens the container and throws it onto the counter and counts them. Which is so crazy to me. Then she packages them and starts screaming Chinese and hands him $15. I use to love this place but this type of behavior is unacceptable. I wonder if they will resell the chicken wings. Therefore I will not be ordering from here again.

The service was horrible!! I specifically told my waitress that I do not eat MEAT and the combination dish that I ordered which was shrimp in lobster sauce had pieces of pork in it! Then was served with a pork egg roll which is just presented on the menu as a “egg roll”. They had the audacity to charge me separately for the fried rice, egg roll, and the soup which was apart of the combination special and only took off like $8 for the shrimp in lobster sauce. We refused to pay for something I did not eat and was told there was no manager on duty. 10 minutes later “a manager” appeared and we had to retell the story for the third time and all they did was take off the pork egg roll. Never going there again, especially since they do not specify the ingredients they have on certain dishes on the menu! Very unprofessional, and rude and the fact that they have written “Please let the server or manager know if they are any allergies” and still bought my dish out with pork is absurd!!
I'm starting to notice a pattern in my hometown of The Bronx where Yelp reviewers have been quite harsh critics to be quite frank. Despite the 3 star average, this place is still a good choice, so don't let it stop you from checking it out. Something must have gone terribly wrong at some point, but I didn’t allow it to deter me. Nor did I let it influence my decision to dine here. I was glad I listened to my family whom loves this place. The staff was awesome and even made suggestions, which I love! We had the pan fried noodles with chicken and broccoli which is not necessarily a menu item, but they were accommodating. The barbecue spare ribs were delicious as well. The feel of the place is a very throwback to my childhood growing up in the area. We will be back for sure. Thank you.

I've lived in the neighborhood for over 15 years. I've seen restaurants come and go, for whatever reason. This Restaurant has been hanging on by a thread. They had to add "NEW" to the name so people would believe it's changed. NOT!!!. Back in 2004 I had dinner with my family and had a liltle problem with my rice. I mentioned it to the waiter and waited 10 mins before it was addressed. I stopped going there. On 2/18/2019 I order food to go and again I had a small problem. The lady behind the podium was SO NASTY. If it wasn't for my kids wanting this so much I definitely would have left empty handed. My problem was my son loves his fried wontons bare, no sauce. They added sauce in the box. And she said it comes that way and gave us an attitude, for something so small. SO SAD. THE FOOD IS NOT THE GREATEST. The place looks nice but its just smoke and mirrors.
One of my favorite Asian Cuisine restaurants in the Bronx. This restaurant isn't so big, inside you'll feel cozy, comfortable, and feel at ease as it is quiet enough to have over-the-table conversations with folks or hear yourself think if your on your own, unlike other restaurants where it can be loud or have the music turned up too high. The service and staff is great....they're all smiles, welcoming, and pleasant to deal with. Dining area and Bar is usually nice and organized as well as the Restrooms. Prices on the Meñu are fare but the food quality is great. I come here frequently for the Sushi but have had other dishes in the past and I honestly don't have a complaint on their food items. I am a regular here and I do recommend this restaurant so if your in the area stop in and enjoy... you wont regret it. Thanks.
Best Chinese food in the Bronx. I live in Parkchester and they don't deliver that far, but my husband and I will drive there just to get take out. Everything is cooked fresh and the ingredients are high quality. My go-to on the menu is beef and broccoli with fried rice. As soon as I open the container I can smell the fresh garlic. The egg drop soup is my absolute favorite and full of flavor. The miso soup is a close 2nd. Honestly, I've never had a bad meal here. It's a little pricier than your average local Chinese food hole in the wall, but it's not your average Chinese food restaurant. If you're dining in, you'll enjoy the ambience and its totally appropriate for family dining. I highly recommend this place.
Food is good when you want something quick. Service is there. Everything is done fast as if they want you to leave quick. I had a party of three and they left us one menu. Worst part is being hot and eating. Three different tables had to tell one waitress that’s it was hot and if the air conditioner can be turned on. What appeared to be the manager or owner, yelled something to the waitress as if she was bothered to turn on the air conditioning. Any restaurant being to cheap to turn on the air conditioner shouldn’t be a restaurant. One should always be comfortable eating.

There's not too many places to take your family or your date to a sit down Chinese meal here in the Bronx. The New Green Dragon is one of those places where you can come and enjoy a good meal with family and friends at affordable prices that won't break your wallet. All the food here is good except the dessert truffles which consists of ice cream stuffed in a fried rice flour shell. I would just stick to regular ice cream. If anything one can always do for dessert at one of the many other venues that line the Through Neck portion of Tremont Avenue. Check out their Sushi and Sashimi bar. I hear it's fresh and delicious.
I have ordered from this place numerous times and I will no longer eat here. Every Time I order they get my order wrong. And then have the nerve to charge me extra on my credit card to have the order fixed. The people who work the phones are absolutely rude. On top of that the food tastes bland, no flavor. The chicken and broccoli is watered down and the rice is not fully cooked. You think you’re getting more food for the money because they give you a soup and egg roll with your combo. But the food just doesn’t taste fresh and not worth it.
I'd been here once before and so because of the hype this place gets as well as thought it was great the 1st time around, I decided to bring my sister who is home from out of town and we got food here this weekend (2nd weekend Aug 2021) we ordered diff platters with shrimp and my sister and I got food poisoning, after an urgent care visit and still a few days later we are still throwing up... so WATCH OUT!!!

Some Chinese, Japanese (Sushi and Noodle dishes) and Singapore noodle are on the menu, and they do a good job with everything I've tried so far. Even some things that are not vegetarian, they are able to make vegetarian. There is a full bar here; they push the lychee martini, and it is worth a try. Service is decent and the outdoor is acceptably clean. This is the only proper sit-down Chinese restaurant I've seen in the area, and I'm super happy I found it. I will be back often.
Lovely place . One small issue is the prices are a tad bit high. It is the only sit down Chinese Restaurant in the area and it's well known to all. Great reviews.

Ordered Spider roll, lo mein and sweet and sour chicken. The spider roll came with romaine in it, which did not taste good, and was not as described on the menu. The lo mein did not have much flavor, and I had to put my own salt and pepper on at home to have some sort of flavor. The sweet and sour chicken was alright, but nothing to write home about. Didn't HATE it, but not worth the money and wouldn't go back.
Haven't been there since they opened many years ago. But a friend wouldn't shut up how good they are. So we joined him for lunch. They did exceed my expectations. Had the sesame chicken. Next time will be Chow Fun noodles.

My family and I have then dining there for many years. We live in Putnam County New York, which takes approximately one hour to get there without traffic. The service and food is well worth the drive. I never have a problem recommending this restaurant. If you want to sit down and have a tasty Chinese meal along with maybe a cocktail, I assure you this will be the place to go.
I have been eating at this restaurant for two years now the service is amazing. There is a waiter who’s is name of Cindy she is awesome very friendly, and will cater to you to the best of her ability. The food is also a plus. I have become a regular. I look forward to dining there oh I forgot she also makes the best Mai tai in the Bronx !!!!!!!!!!! Love you Lucy
a gem In the bronx most down to earth and well maintained restaurant. Cindy is awesome the food is great prices are great about of food is well worth it. ambience is amazing all the host and Hostess and waiting staff are amazing people. 10 out of 10 for Chinese food restaurants. always my number 1 choice when I'm feeling in the mood for some Chinese food.
After going to Mamajuena and then forgetting my order. We came to Green Dragon. The service was fantastic. The food was fr sh. And there was so much I had to take it home. My son ordered chicken wings and French fries. I ordered orange chicken and vegetable fried rice. It was way too much for me. I eat small but was enough to share with the family.
Well this is about the service. We placed a order well over a hundred dollars and was shorted a few items. When calling the restaurant about this discrepancy. We talked to the gentleman on the phone who was rude and argumentative. He pretty much said that we were liars. The warning if you are getting take out make sure you have all your items.
Really nice American Chinese in Throggs Neck. Food was tasty but not really authentic Chinese. I had map pao tofu which had no numbing spice and did not taste schezuan at all. But everything was hot and fresh.

We bought some food for New Years and when we got home and opened the box to the ribs on the PuPu Platter, we found that they put an already eaten rib in the mix. Someone literally gnawed on this peice and they gave it to a customer. Disgusting and unprofessional, we threw out everything we bought tonight from there!
Great cheap Chinese food. Super fast to get your food. Lunch special includes soup and rice. Try the sweet and sour chicken and pork fried rice. Cute old school decor but definitely not fancy. Lots of locals go here. Has parking. Looks like a great full bar but we haven't used it. TVs to watch sports if you like.
Thieves! I only put 1 star bc I can't put 0! They wouldn't deliver my little boys food that was $14.92 bc its $15 minimum for delivery. All bc of .8 cents they refused to deliver!! I don't know why i bothered to call them bc their food is not worth the exra .8 cents they nickel and dime their customers for!
I've been going for more than 10 years, it is amazing! The food quality is perfection and Cindy is the absolute best! Always quick, knows us by name, knows what we like and is a joy to be around! It is because of her I keep going back even though I moved out of State!! Love her and The New Green Dragon!
They overcharged on an item and told me they gave me the full version of it so that's why I paid more. NOT. And when I got home I saw they gave me the wrong roll. So overcharged I was again since they gave me a cheaper roll than the one I ordered

Tried to take my daughter here and they were so rude. I showed them mine and my daughters vaccination card along with my ID the lady refused us services because my underage daughter didn’t have ID. They didn’t even bother to check her age. I rather go somewhere else then ever give them my business.
This was my first time here. I had a LONG ISLAND ICE TEA and a fried boneless pork chop dish. It was served with rice, salad and misu soup. The portion of pork chops was generous, tasty and well presented. For desert I had a pistachio totufo. Parking may be a problem. I will definitely come back.
This particular Restaurant was once located in the Parkchester area, nice to know we were able to find them once again. Their ribs and house special fried rice are always fresh when we order them. They still have the lovers drink for 2 with a new name. Enjoy the nice relaxed ambience. …
I come to this Restaurant for years, and the food is ok. But they are so rude & nasty. When I call to order they have attitude, when I go in person they have a face!!! They have no manners with customers, is to bad to treat people like that knowing that we are the " neighbors" who made them.

I had the most delicious MaiTai ! What a surprise! The wontons in peanut sauce are remarkable. If you are looking for a place to sit down and eat Chinese food with family and friends, this is your spot. It's small, old timey, comfy and cute.
Apparently if you give only a dollar tip they won’t deliver , on top of the fact I was already paying over 20 dollars to receive delivery, I told the lady I would like to give him a dollar tip and she decided to hang up on me after saying a
They follow the illegal NYC mandate. One person in our party didn’t have their vaccine card on them and they wouldn’t let them in. I will never come to this place again even when that discriminatory mandate is repealed for its illegality.
These people have the bad habit on mixing up the order and making you pay for it. They tried to make us come back and give the food to them when we had to go in taxi to pick it up. Food tastes bad and undercooked, and very expensive.
Last few times I have been here the waitress Cindy has been very rude, nasty and unpleasant. They need new staff who knows how to welcome people as appose to turn them off. They are not the only Chinese restaurant on Tremont Avenue.
Order from neighborhood sushi place all the time. Sent me a California roll with rotten avocado and the woman told me that’s how it comes sometimes. Didn’t offer to send a new one. Must not be concerned with customer satisfaction.
I haven't been here a such a long time but they didn't disappoint. Rolls were fresh and plentiful. Spider roll, Bahama.roll.(so I like.to call it)due to its wrapped in a sweet plantain, dragon roll.. everything I had I loved.

The food was delicious. The Garlic sauce was superb. Sushi was fantastic. I was disappointed that they didn't have the beer I was looking for but I can excuse that. The easier was friendly. Overall a great visit.
Food was great, but things got awkward at the end because they made us pay 15% tip when it was just two people. The service was fine, but not enough for 15%. Not sure if I’d be back after such an awkward moment.
Very fresh and good tasting food! A little expensive but that is because the veggies are crisp, meat is tasty and everything is top notch. I would gladly pay a couple of dollars more for a better quality dish.
Pricey but superb quality in comparison to most Chinese take outs. Its probably worth it. Would you rather spend a few extra dollars on quality or a little less on non-edible food from other Chinese take outs?

Not consistent! I ordered moo shu pork.. It was the best I ever had. Ordered two weeks later..It was inedible! Full of greasy oil and no flavor. The other dishes vary from very good to just about okay.
Nice local sushi Chinese food spot, Tuesday thru Thursday is half off sushi price. The catch is you must finish all it to get half off. The food is great and is not as greasy as other Chinese spot.
Cindy is the best waitress ever for the last 15-20 years. Always attentive, always nice, and she has a wonderful personality. Any employer would be lucky to have her working for them.

Probably the freshest and over all best Chinese food in the Bronx!!! My friend from Brooklyn always wants me to bring it down to him because it’s that good.
Been going here for about 2yrs and really enjoy the service and food. Cindy is the best server greets us by name and because of her I keep coming back.
The restaurant is clean well looking. But the food I can cook better with my eyes closed. First and last time ever or ordering Chinese cuisine.
Cindy (server) is amazing. The food is fresh ans super delicious. And the drinks where great. Love this place. I will definitely be back !!
The food taste old and the customer service is horrible the waitress had an attitude and I left all my food. Rusty tea pot full of tea.
Food was very good. Service was good and friendly but a bit slow. Big menu and will be back to explore it. Sushi was impressively good!
