This is the place to be avoided! Read on... Covid pandemic turned me to online shopping. On March 03, I ordered about $1100 worth of food items, in which there were 30 lbs of large shrimps, for myself and three other friends. The person who took order was Hang. And this, was the third time I made a large order from this very person at this business. Turnt out, all came good but shrimps were spoiled. Making a complaining call to her (Hang) had her defending right away without a second thought. She denied packing bad, expired shrimps, and then went on, quote, “will make it up next time you order!” Hear this, never again I will order online to this business. And I warn you folks all around to know how they treated my order, unless you want bad shrimps and what not along your orders. What a dishonest business. My email is hikoolioh at yahoo. Com and can prove to you three (3) separate orders I made in the past 6 months, each over 1000 dollars, to this business, through this person, Hang.
1. The meat section smells bad 2. I wonder when was the last time they mopped. 3. Checkers speak marginal english 4. A lady was very rude to me -- she finished her transaction, which was easily $100 worth of stuff then after she was completely done, she went back and got some cookies. Instead of asking her to wait and ringing me up (I had 4 items) the checker allowed the lady to do ANOTHER transaction. The lady had been standing there doing nothing while the checker ran back to the back to check on something just a few minutes earlier. The checker was completely baffled when I told her that was rude. I can't imagine how this is acceptable but it must be cultural. I, and my money, are staying way the hell away from this place.
Awesome market for fruits and vegetables, especially the more exotic kinds. We bought jackfruits from them, 4 big ones, and they were all amazing, ripening very well. Also their oranges were awesome, good quality, very sweet and vibrant color. Jackfruit was $1.99/lb uncut and citrus was $1.75/lb. In addition, they had such an amazing selection of tropical fruits, such as Durian (even some non-frozen), sapodilla, papaya, mangoes, mini bananas etc. but on the pricier side. Also had different types of dates and a huge selection of vegetables. This was in January, The people working there was also super friendly!
I’ve shopped here for over 5 years. No frills Asian market. Little to no customer service. Fast check out. Unbelievably low prices on fresh high quality pork, coconut milk, coconut water, green tea, dried mushrooms, Asian condiments, noodles, rice paper wraps, seasonal fruits/vegetables, jackfruit, lemongrass, herbs, hard to find frozen fish and shellfish. Don’t be fooled by the needed upgrade to the building. This keeps prices low. Great spot for the all Asian ingredients without breaking the bank.
They have a great selection of Asian foods, at very reasonable prices. I typically go here if I need to go here if I need to stock up on some staples (i.e. soy sauce, rice vinegar, fish sauce, etc). My favorite section is produce, because they have such a wide variety of items that you don't normally see at other stores, at, again, great prices as well as staples I use all the time. It's not the cleanest place, but the staff is friendly and helpful.
Excellent selection, excellent prices. The produce here wasn't the freshest, but they had ingredients like galangal and lemongrass for really affordable prices. Like most authentic Asian grocery stores, it wasnt brightly lit with beautiful displays - and many of the products were stacked in boxes. That said, curry paste, coconut milk and other Thai staples were much cheaper than at the American friendly Japanese mega grocery store across town.
I haven't been here in a long time since there are newer Asian markets around. Today I went back because I was in the area and there was barely anyone there. I understand why. They don't have fresh food particularly meat. I bought a few packs of beef shank and it was black. Had to toss it away. This is ridiculous considering how everything is inflated. I'm surprised they're still in business.
I like that the groceries are great when you are on a budget and need some more hard to get asian spices and ingredients. Only thing is that interior is a little beaten down and the oranges that we purchased happened to be moldy in the middle even though we thought it looked fresh from the outside. I don't entirely blame the staff or owner, since we might have just gotten a little unlucky.
Surprisingly large and high quality produce selection. Other sections are hit and miss but there are some good "big sale" items for the hunting. Checkout clerk offered me bags of discounted limes and apples as I was checking out just like I were shopping at a street market in Asia, some might find that off-putting but now I have twelve limes for a buck!
This place is the place I would go almost DAILY when I lived across the street from here. Being born and raised on the islands, this market was ideal to make the food I missed the most. Keep in mind, most of the staff there speak little English, and it has an authentic vibe to it that is reminiscent to most Asian markets on the other side of the globe.
This is truely a supermarket for Asian foods. They have just about everything you can get at many stores in Asia. My wife is recently from the Philippines and was happily surprised to find the foods she misses so much from her country. We live 200 miles from there but will be making regular trips there to restock our pantry. It is that good.
Store has some unique items and food. Customer service needs help. I tried asking several questions but nobody seemed to know English. Cashier didn't have any social skills and seemed in a hurry to get you out of the store when business was slow. Good place to shop on holidays because their always open for those last minute items.
This is a well stocked Asian grocery store. There are a few things I need in my kitchen that can be purchased at an Asian grocery store. Sweet chili sauce, Kiwi knives, seasoned rice vinegar, and several more. When I am near an Asian grocery store I stop in. This store is very pleasant and one of my favorite stores.
They keep blocking residents of 6 apartments with their trucks. One of the trucks hit my car 2 months ago while illegally parking and it STILL hasn't been taken care of. They have a loading zone and leave a truck parked in it instead. Just stop blocking us in. Move the parked truck and stop blocking us in
Of all the Asian grocery we go to, this one is the best so far. It has most all you need that is Asian, from Wai-Wai noodles to goat meat. Green leaf vegetables that you don't find at regular stores, duck eggs too. Staff are very busy running around multi-tasking. Need to appreciate how hard they work.
Decent prices, mostly cheaper than the bigger asian markets, but obviously less selections. They still have all the main asian products and vegetables that you'll most likely need. Location is good, right of the freeway. If you need lumpia wrappers, they are $1.99 a package here, no tax.
Asian food market lots of imports. Best noodle selection many brands to chose from. Seafoods galore and many fresh veggies variety. If you've ever plan an specific asian meal this place surely has what you need. The best Veitnamese coffees if you drink coffee try these blends super good.
A good local Asian / Vietnamese grocery store that has a lot of different produce to choose from. They have a ton of Asian spices, fish, different Meats, dry Foods and so much more! I like to go there for their produce because they have a lot of stuff that I can't find anywhere else.
A great neighborhood market providing the ingredients to so many delicious meals! The prices are low, and they take EBT, which is extremely helpful for those who cannot afford to spend much, but want to eat well. They have a well stocked produce area, and wonderful bakery section.
Good selection of Nori, coconut milks, a lot of other imports. Pretty decent produce section, carrots as big as your arm .. and most of ingredients you'd need for japanese or korean style dishes. Pretty positive they have dried krill snack and I'd assume squid snacks too
I stopped going here years ago because of it's many flaws like cleanliness and lack of fresh produce/meat. 2022 is here and it's still the same. There are so many amazing Asian groceries in Portland that this shouldn't even be a choice.
This market is stuffed with goodies mostly from SE Asia(Thailand, Vietnam, etc.). Prices are reasonable. There are so many things everywhere that expect to take some time to find what you need the first couple visits. Friendly staff.
Its significantly bigger than a corner store, but smaller than a major super market. There's a lot of items available. It's a great place if you're in a pinch for Asian items. But you're a 5 minute drive from better supermarkets.
Good, traditional-style Asian market that's better priced than most. A bit more Vietnamese influenced I think (v. Thai or Chinese). Has been around a long time and is a lot less crowded than the bigger, more well known markets.
This place is a great store to buy Vietnamese and other foods from South Asia. It's not the cleanest but the staff are nice. I would recommend the frozen potstickers they're super cheap compared to conventional supermarkets.
They will tell you they carry anything you ask for over the phone, even throw in s what brand, then blankly stare at you when you show up. I lost hours of progress battling traffic thinking I found my specialty item.
Awesome place for fruit and veg with much abundance. Cashiers great to negotiate price deals with specials on overripe fruit & veg which they stock near the register. Very friendly ladies and huge inventory.
If you can't find what you are looking for there for a really good price then I would try Fubonn. I personally like the place and can usually find what I need. Language barrier is a problem if you need help.
Pacific Market is my favorite place they always have such a large variety of fresh produce and on occasion they do make Bon Me sandwiches and fresh salad rolls I think only on the weekend though
Large Asian supermarket. Pro: Quite a bit of vegan / vegetarian frozen foods. A bit more exotic items than some Asian supermarkets. Cons: Kinda scruffy. Some of the staff's mask use was 0.
The floor were soaking wet and the were no wet floor sign with is required by law ! Yes I understand this is a small neighborhood store but they still need to follow the laws !!!!!
Bought groceries and a couple of pastries here. items were old and spoiled. We bought banh bo and it was sour. The pork belly we bought had a really strong bad pork smell.
Has lots of seafood and chinese food. The people are very nice and helpful. They have a very big selection of asian type stuff and a few american things. Great store
Great place to get items for cooking that basic grocery stores don't carry. I shop there when I need items for Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese recipes that I like to cook.
You can find very good prices on a variety of Asian foods here. Often much cheaper than other stores, but it's a little hit or miss. Personally, I love this place.
Love the various items from around the Asia world. Cant find your favorite fish sauce. You'll find it there. Great place. Walk the store and try something new.
I would not recommend going here... it’s a dead asian market that is dying and smells like a dead person on top of it. The meat is black and food are expired.
Very unorganized place to shop. They have lots of stuff, and I appreciate the selection. I just find it challenging to shop here because of the chaos.
Rude people. Always over charge. I live in the neighborhood and shopped many times but they never treat with customer service. Smells disgusting
Needs to improve lots of customer service skills. The price has been increased more than others Asian stores. It’s not like it’s used to be
Odd store layout. A few tight spaces around the venue. Not a modern store, that's for sure. Products are rather well stock. Fast check out.
Many selections. Reasonable price. Don't expect kindness nor cleaness. Seafoods dont seem to be fresh by looking at the way they display.
Everytime i shoped in this market, the lady maybe the owner all tried to please me to buy this buy that, even i said know, i hate this.
I live across the street from this place and it is a good selection of asian foods. I also like the fact they have bahn me sandwhichs.
Good place to shop for Asian food 5star all day... but the girl who works there not that friendly I buy my coffee every other weeks
Great place with unusual asian products include a great selection of produce. The store itself does have a bit of an odor though
Amazing selection, a joy to shop. Very nice Employees. I love to take my time and look at all the products, try new things.
This is where I go for dried galanga and their bulk bag of dried shitake mushrooms, which I have trouble finding elsewhere.
I remember years ago when this used to be a Thriftway. Crazy, now the only Thriftway's left are on the West side of PDX.
The staffs are great. The store has alot of products from meat, fishes, vegetables, fruits, to frozen products, etc...
Great place to get necessary ingredients for Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, and other Asian dishes.
I buy rice noodles there. Good for gluten-restricted diets. They have lots of SE Asian stuff there, and good prices.
I love this place! Everything you need for cooking SE Asia style. And almost everything cheaper than food stores.
The owner rude & arrogant. Don't go here unless you really have to. Just 5 mins away there's better supermarket.
All kinds of Asians foods. Meat, vegetables, fruits, housewares, all kinds of noodles. Competitive prices.
Very good if you can do the Asian food. Good oranges and watermelons. If you can take an Asian with you!
Building is a little older, things could be organized better, competitive prices, friendly cashiers.
Check receipt before you leave!!!! I got charged $5.39 for Oyster sauce that should have been $3.99.
My local corner store love it lots of selection as far as Asian food goes cheap + friendly staff
Good price, older building and a bit disorganized, helpful staff, owner. I like be thui …
Amazing store with lots of selection of Asian goods. Fresh, frozen and everything in between.
Cold and dirty, too dirty for food market which makesc lot of customers not want to come here
Smells like fish. Limited selection. Very old building. Some staff are nice, some are rude.
Never been in there before. An awesome store, nice people and cool products. I recommend.
Store seems a little dirty short staffed and a bit disorganized, good price on coffee.
Great deals and they have lots of hard to find Asian ingredients. Understaffed though.
Had the instant boba I was looking for and lots of good produce. Fast service. Thanks!
I was Totally Totally surprised by what I found there they have got the goods go there
Friendly place plus friendly staff. Very good interaction between staff and customer.
My fav grocery store many years...having Asian food items, and, snacks...and more...
Great place for getting variety of Asian products and goodies for affordable price.
Excellent source for Asian foods. Bu wish the customers can learn to drive better.
I get all my frozen octopus, squid and enoki mushrooms from here. Very nice place
Nice selection. Not big like some other Vietnamese stores and kinda old building.
Great selection of products. Reasonable prices. Must go to Asian market in town.
Great selection and they are constantly adding new things to their store.
Great market for Asian foods with interesting items; very helpful staff.
The meat and produce look great, overall it seems like a good selection.
Excellent produce selection and employees are very nice and socialable.
A wonderland of exotic ( to me) groceries. They have long beans for one
Great food for super cheap. Made the an amazing ox tail soup from here.
Great place for lots of fresh veggies, sandwiches, drinks and grocery!
Great selection of Asian products vegetables food fish so much more
Good selection of produce. Otherwise like every other Asian market.
Awesome place. Check out the Vegan meats in the freezer section.
Good tropical fruits when it's in season, although quite pricey.
Great selection of fresh vegetables, meat, fish, and dry goods.
Store is cool. Bahn mi shop right down the block is amazeing
This place the hard to find Asian food items it's worth it
Friendly staffs & Great place to shop for Vietnamese food.
Quite congested but you’ll almost get everything here..
