When I lived around the corner, it was so convenient to pick up whatever I needed while walking my dog in the morning. I moved about a mile downtown and there are no pet stores in the area. That is when I learned that Pet Ark delivers!! This is such a huge help, especially with large heavy bags of food and litter. They have limited hours too, so being able to schedule a delivery during the work day and have it waiting at my door when I come home is helpful. I will admit, there have been a few 'bumps in the road'-- the first delivery I was home for and the delivery guy asked to use my bathroom, odd but whatever, I let him in and he used my bathroom for over 30 minutes! Another delivery was of a bag of food, the bag had a small tear in it which they told me about when I ordered the delivery and they taped it up. Unfortunately bugs had gotten into the bag of food. I called them back and they were so apologetic and sent me a replacement bag (they only had the smaller bag though, so I have a store credit for my next order. They don't do refunds). Overall, their prices seem to be standard for NYC and their delivery service makes them standout from the competition.

I have been a customer of this store for about ~5 years and I was always completely pleased by them. They always had the best customer service and the best pet treatment, until ~2 years ago. It all started with the food outage, they would never have my dogs correct food on stock, then it was the rising grooming prices, from $75, to $80, to now $120, base price for a Pomeranian haircut. What has changed? Nothing. Same groomer, same location but even worse treatment. Originally they had water for the dogs (dogs get extremely dehydrated when they're nervous, upset or excited, etc.) now they make any excuse not to provide even the simplest thing such as water. IT'S A PET SHOP. The least they could do is cater to their personnel. They continue saying that prices have risen everywhere, but that does NOT make the consumer feel better, especially when the customer service has been decreased this much. This store used to be my go- to for my shopping and grooming needs, now I will not be returning. It started with the grooming and the last straw was the 'no water' concept. The fact that they know my name really makes me enjoy this location I've been to so many different pet stores from Petland Petco to PetSmart and one day I just happened to stumble upon pet Ark and is everybody the staff everybody is simply amazing the dog food is actually a little bit cheaper they have rewards for every 10 bag for the Buffalo dog food that I buy a cat a free bag and it keep track I never have to keep receipts or anything like that they just take my phone number they have everything on record they offered to do free delivery one day I called to see if they have something in stock and they offer to deliver it I thought that was awesome no other pet store that I know of that you can walk in just office to deliver your food for you your dog food super amazing totally recommended small but quaint one of the Best by by far

Good prices, free delivery (though I think it's appropriate to give a tip), and George, the owner, is SO knowledgeable and SO kind! UPDATE 2-2022: and years later, that's still the case. Owner George and staff are all so nice, calm, knowledgeable, kind. UPDATE 7-2022 still love this neighborhood gem and the wonderful folks who run it (& try to contain prices in this "supply chain issues" , "russia-ukraine war& energy prices" etc environment) UPDATE 6-2023 I am SO grateful for this store and its team! They are kind, informed (they read a lot of the relevant materials& go to conferences), honest, and care about quality and about the customers. Both my cats have health issues now, and George discussed food options (& important considerations for each health condition) for 15+ minutes. José and Gina are so wonderful too.

Updating my original review to 5 stars. I have been coming here for nearly 5 years. This was not my first pet store experience but when I first started coming here, it was very helpful to have their advice readily available. The male owner is always kind and patient and will help to the best of his knowledge. Every time I come to get my dog’s nails cut, it’s typically not a long wait, and the groomer is very friendly. To put it simply, my ratings is for the very good customer experience I receive and for the dog groomer whenever he is there. If there are any issues you have with them, they are very concerned with clearing it up truly valuing your business.

The store is really good is and the staff is helpful. But I have to say the groomer doesn’t follow directions and just does any haircut that he wants. He shaved all of my dog’s fur, right when the winter is around the corner. Sculpted her like a poodle when it’s a dog that has nothing to do with that breed. Terrible job and so unprofessional for not having taken a look or ask for a reference or at least googled it. Definitely won’t recommend and not going back there.

The best groomer in town! Great place for all your pet needs. They have great selection and reasonable prices. Staff are so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, most specially George. And the lady on the counter is so sweet she even gives my Puppy treat (my puppy is so happay). They also have Excellent delivery service, Jose is always on time. Will definitely come back.

A wonderful neighborhood business. They are very helpful and they have a ton of great products. It's a little more expensive than ordering online, but nothing compares to real live customer service and attention. I have been a customer for a few months now since becoming a first time dog dad and I will be a loyal customer for years to come!

The workers are extremely friendly and helpful. I always feel so welcomed when I come in and love talking to them. This shop has a good selection and high quality food. I have two cats and a rabbit, it's so helpful that I can make one stop for all of their needs. They even offered to deliver the litter for me since it's heavy.

I only stopped here quickly because I desperately needed a cat carrier. The man working there was so incredibly helpful!!! He patiently showed me two options of bags. Then when I asked how to calm a cat down he was so knowledgeable, asked me questions so he could help me as best as he could. Would highly recommend this store!

I've been going here for over 10 yrs so this is way over due. I can't recommend this store more. The staff are like friends and their knowledge on their products is very helpful as well. My favorite Pet store!!! Where you can find alot if cute stuffs for your furbabies, birds, and fish tanks accessories! A Clean store and they do a fantastic job in grooming too!!!. The store owner and staffs will always trying to help or accommodate you!! And they treat their customers (esp PETS) as a family.

This place has a full on roach infestation. Brought a cardboard cat scratcher home and 10 roaches came out when I opened it. Went back to the store and all the other scratchers were infested too. Employee let me exchange for a different item i needed so two stars. Be careful what you buy here.

Pet Ark is always been my go to store when it comes to my needs in Spoiling our fur babies. As soon as you go inside you can feel the homey ambiance. The Store owners are very accomodating and friendly and you can comfortably ask their honest advises when it comes to tour babies’ needs.

They took suck great care of my dogs. I got there nails clipped and a dog washes fir two dogs . My dogs were of course scared, but the care they provided calmed them down. I highly recommend, if you need your dogs effectively cleaned on budget and timely. Great music too! …

Good prices and fast free delivery, though limited selection of brands. There really isn't any other competition in the neighbourhood that I'm aware of though, so it's tough to compare. Nearest other option I know of is in the uws, and priced accordingly.

You can't beat a place like this, they have a great selection, they love dogs, they always give treats to the animals etc etc etc. I also have my dog groomed here and the groomer is so sweet and so good with my dog. I love her new haircut ha ha *see pic

The staff are really helpful and friendly. George is really knowledgeable and gives good recommendations on products to try as one of my cats was really picky and needed special food. He can answer any questions you may have. Highly recommend.

Love this place. It's small, if you're a new dog owner they are knowledgeable about what they sell and can advise you accordingly and answer your questions. They don't try to upsell you either.

Great service and product selection. I also use their grooming services. The staff is predominantly Spanish speaking, there was a language barrier but they always manage to provide what I need.

NEVER GET YOUR PET GROOMED HERE!!! Brought my Yorkie here to get groomed and the groomer cut 3 of my dogs moles after I specifically showed and told him about the moles.
