I bought a puppy last Sunday and my daughter is very scared of it. I tried to return it the next day, even knowing I would get 1/2 of my money back, I was told no in the end. The manager and insurance went back and forth with me about who would make the decision, seemed to me I would have been able to return the puppy at 1/2 price but was denied. The manager told my wife that she never has taken a return and never will. The manager also stated there was not room to return it but after calling the store and talking to another manager, there was in fact room. This is false advertisement in my view because she knowingly will not take a return but still advertises that she will at "discretion" within 48 hours. I had to go out of town the next day so I had to place the puppy in dog boarding until I returned late yesterday. Come to find out that the puppy was not up to date on all shots and had to receive 2 more at my expense. Petland is a scam! Nothing but lies and dishonesty! My next step is to notify the BBB, write my congressman, and get the local news involved to help tell the story so hopefully this will not happen to anyone else.

I came in today with my friend looking for a bird one of her dream pets previously we had went to several different stores looking for birds and we were hoping that this store would be the one where we found her dream bird, and we did his name is Tabasco he is a sweet and kind bird that my friend had fallen in love with right when she saw him. The “bird expert” told us he was twelve hundred dollars and we thought that was a hell of a deal considering a lot of the birds we were looking at were up to 4,000 dollars we waited for almost an hour and a half when they told us all we needed to do was check our credit scores. After my friend heard that she was ecstatic I saw a twinkle in her eyes that I haven’t seen before in a really long time only moments later did we find out the the “bird expert” made a mistake and the bird was actually three thousand dollars wasting all our time there while we were sitting there starving feeling sick because we couldn’t eat anything only to find out that we wasted all that time on NOTHING.

I was in Dog Heaven, so to speak. This place was full of puppies and kittens. All well cared for furbabies looking for homes. ‍‍⬛ Upon adopting any furbaby from this place Petland has a go home with kit for you to help care for your newest member. This includes, The training crate, supplements, food, 5 toys (you can have your baby pick these), a water bottle for the crate, bowls & a bowl mat, leash or harness & collar, shampoo, a food container, and more. Dang I realize I sound like an ad but I've never been to a place like this before. I thought these type of shops were wiped out in the 90's The best part of the whole place was getting to sit in a cubicle to play with all of the babies. All the wiggling, kisses, and joy of just loving up to furbabies. It was wonderful! Now that being said, this softy isn't going back in any time soon, least I adopt the whole store.

Awesome experience! We drove about three hours from Nebraska to check out the Yorkies. We were greeted by GiGi who was amazing from the moment we came in to when we left. We purchased our puppy for our daughter & GiGi was super engaged with our daughter to help guide her to make decisions of what to build our Go Home Package with which helped give her confidence about being a pup owner. GiGi explained all our paper work in great detail, which I really appreciated. Our Pup traveled excellent, has been extremely well behaved, socialized well & and even slept all the way through her first night at home which is a testament as to how the pups are being cared for at the store. Thank you GiGi and Petland for an awesome first puppy buying experience.

The manager Brooke helped with our main lady Kelsey today. They were super understanding and extremely helpful. First time ever getting a puppy here and we left with our forever friend! We actually left the Lee summit location from being treated poorly and had 100% better experience here and changed my view on Petland! These 2 ladies went above and beyond. Kelsey being new was very honest on what she was learning on, what she knew and not knew 100% and gave us the best experience with switching out so many puppies and making sure we got 100% what we needed. I will definitely be back and definitely recommend this location to all my friends.

Josie was so helpful letting me know all the characteristics of the hamsters, rabbits and guinea pigs. I was able to hold and interact with all the animals there. ( And yes there are puppies to hold.) I was very excited to see what their selection was on dog collars. There were so many prints and patterns. I found the perfect collar and the most perfect treats for my dog. It is her birthday today and I got her a doggie treat in the shape of a snowman. I was amazed at the variety of fun loving treats for my pup. I just want to say thank you and appreciate all the kindness shown to me! Have a Happy Holiday!

The store is new and appears on the surface to be clean and animals well kept. Staff is friendly and seems knowledgeable. We were excited to get our puppy! What became apparent is the store already has a Giardia problem! Petland will pay for the puppy's treatment but not the other exposed or infected pets at home. Expensive and a major headache decontaminating everything and the ongoing risk of further infections. Our puppy had been at the store for over 2 months. There is no way they are unaware. Giardia is extremely contagious! If one has it, likely most or all of them do!

I cannot aptly express the caring and professionalism I experienced at this Petland! I brought home a new puppy, who my vet confirmed today is perfect in every way. Cosette went over and above to assist us from beginning to end and the items and services which come home with you and provide everything you could possibly need to start off on the right paw. These hardworking folks all appear to genuinely care about the animals and customers and while losing a long time has been painful, our new baby and friends at Petland have made this a wonderful Holiday Season!!

Listen staff they aren’t the friendliest im being honest. I went in there with a friend the other day and I already had the knowledge on petland being bad and a place that buys from backyard breeders but my friend went ahead and bought a husky. Man the price is ridiculous, not only that she is sick already, He’s only had her for 3 days and listened to the previous procedures they had put the pup in before. It’s ridiculous. A rip off. And filled with teenagers that know absolutely nothing about taking care of puppies!

This Petland is awesome. 10000 times nicer than the one at the Independence Center. We went on a Saturday. Two young girl workers were lazy and stood around texting and gossiping the whole time at the register like they were too inconvenienced to have customer service. But the young man that got the dogs out for us was very proactive and respectful. Seemed like he was doing all the work, all while still conversing with customers. Super impressed by him, and the cleanliness of this location.

Please do not buy puppies from Petland. They buy sick puppies from puppy mills and the Campylobacter infections that resulted in dozens of people becoming so ill that they required hospitalization. This infection is antibiotic resistant and people die. Please stop getting puppies here. Always meet a puppy's mom, at the place they were born. Stop believing the statement the breeder is USDA, go to the USDA website and look up the licensed breeders, USDA has the worse breeders in the country.

The technology is archaic and slow. The staff is unintelligent. They still complete credit card transactions by fax which is super sad while they charge top dollar for dogs that come from a puppy mill. That’s how they make money any retail transactions like the purchase of a harness or dog toy they could care less and the turnover of employees is always noticeable.We visited three times in the past month and there’s a different group of employees every time. That says a lot about Petland!

Bought a corgi that had only been there 2 days. It already has giardia like many have claimed in the reviews. Unacceptable considering the $3,000 price tag for a puppy. We have to pay all upfront costs and Petland supposedly is going to reimburse later. My 2 year old corgi also caught it from the new puppy. Thanks. Skip this service and just find another way to acquire a pet. No reason to pay premium price to a company that can’t even keep its own puppies clean and healthy.

I usually shop at the Blue Springs location but when the staff told me this one opened up I had to go! They also have open petters for their ferrets, hamsters, birds etc. I love this idea. They’re reptile selection is affordable and AMAZING! I wish I grabbed a photo of how nice and well kept the enclosure looked! Truly phenomenal. They also have a very clean kennel for the puppies :-) the staff let me hold so many cuties! Once again 100 STARS!

My family and I played and purchased a sweetheart of a puppy! French bulldog named Wonton! He has been such a good puppy and a great addition to our family ever since our English Bulldog of 10 years had to be put down! Petland has been great to us, and Elvis and staff at the North KC location were fantastic to work with and helping us bring our little boy home! He's been through 1 vet visit and he checked out completely healthy!

I went into this store to buy toys for my new (adopted) cat. I cannot believe that there are pet stores still selling puppies in this day and age. I had to ask if they were up for adoption because i just couldn't believe it. Reading through the reviews about sick dogs, I notice that the establishment only responds to positive reviews and not to negative. This indicates an uncaring, untrustworthy attitude. Don't shop, adopt!

The other evening we went to look a puppies. We get there and the door is locked and we can see the woman inside closing. The problem is that it was 30min until close (which is 9pm). So who knows how long beforehand she had actually started closing down as we never saw her come to the door and lock it. She saw us standing out there too and had a dumbfounded look as if she couldn’t believe people were there....

My new suggestion is try probiotics or nonfat yogurt if your puppy has loose stool. Also, make sure you ask the right person, not some high schooler who wants to treat their job like Toastmasters or a Forensics speech class. I seriously just said I already asked some one else when a brwn haired girl interjected herself and offered an opinion both ways, costing me extra gas and time, so now I get to complain.

I’m going to be honest. Staff was wonderful I love playing with the puppies. I bought a puppy from this location and it passed away from parvo the same day. He had not received his parvo vaccination even though he should have gotten one prior to me adopting. The only positive note to this is that they did keep him over night to monitor him but it’s heartbreaking to get a call saying your puppy passed away

I am very disappointed. Our english bulldog is older and we were looking to get a puppy to give our old dog new life. For whatever reason, the staff did not think we were serious about adding the puppy to our family and therefore, we were not allowed to get the puppy out and spend time with it. You would think having someone interested in an 8500.00 dog you would let them spend some time with it.

Came here to get crickets and look at dog harnessES. I see the $1000 puppies eating cheap kibble and struggling to stand on the wire floor..and drinking out of ¼" water bottle droppers... 40# pups drinking out of a hampster bottle... I immediately left as I choose not to support big box stores feeding into puppy mills and basically tormenting these animals. Petland needs SHUTDOWN.

I bought puppy from there was told it AKC registered. Then when I contacted AKC was told it wasn’t registered dog and paperwork was fake. Tried contacting the store several times and in two years have received no call back. There’s some explaining someone needs to be doing. Why did I pay over $1000 for none registered dog??? PETLAND is scam. All their dogs are from puppy mills

We went to check out some puppies and the Manager at the store named Alexis is so friendly and helpful. We spent some time with a miniature schnauzer and probably took close to an hour before we decided to get the puppy. Everything is done professionally and I was very impressed with all the service they provided that day.

Just went there and was disappointed in the selection. This is really a place for dog afficionados - which is fine - I just have a cat whom I dearly love. Not much for cats and no fish stuf, which I am thinking of adding. Dog owners - this is for you. Nice staff. Nice and clean - just don't have what I need.

Petland NCK is by far my favorite pet store! Their sales staff are welcoming and know what they are talking about! Kennel staff keep their cubbies safe and make sure puppies have food and water! I’ve never seen any issues with mistreatment and no puppy is unloved! Store is clean and supplies are very nice!!

Although I haven’t yet purchased a new pet from Petland, I visit frequently to get my puppy fix and buy my dog food. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I’m consistently impressed with how much knowledge and care they have these animals. The best place in the northland for pet supplies & puppies.

I find it frustrating that one must have an appointment, or a commute to the store to find out pricing for a pet. It would be much easier if prices were posted online. The number to call only will let one schedule an appointment, nothing else. Frustrating and seemingly poor business model.

We had an amazing experience working with Elvis! He was kind informative and patient. He stayed after hours to help us get the girl we found. The staff really went out of their way. We went in looking for guinea pig supplies and left with our Ruby. Everything happens for a reason.

Red headed lady told me serious inquiries only well she told my fiance that and we had our three year old with us . We gave her no indication that we weren't potential buyers so there is no reason why she should of denied us. No stars if possible rude think it was race related .

I came in looking for durable dog toys for my puppy. Kat helped me find some that wouldn't be torn to shreds in seconds. She was so helpful and very invested in making sure I was getting the best dog toys I could. Couldn't have asked for better customer service from her.

This place sold us a sick dog!!!!! Do not purchase from here. They charged us 3500 for a sick puppy. Obviously they don’t do check ups on the puppies regularly. Now I have vet fees after vet fees. I’m only selecting 1 star because I can’t give them O.

Went to petland to get food for our guinea pigs and left with a very sweet corgi, with the help of Elvis who worked with us past closing and made every effort to ensure we would be able to leave with her. Elvis went above and beyond and very pleasant.

I went into Petland thinking I only liked cats but after talking to a young boy named Aden I have changed for the better. He showed me all the puppies and let me play with a few. I had such a wonderful experience and will definitely have to go back!!

I understand giving an ID when visiting an animal but it is the store's responsibility to remember to give it back. We we over halfway home and had to drive back and get it. We live an hour away. The store didn't seem to care about the inconvenience.

Petland is awesome! Kennels are clean and there are so many varieties of treats and toys for my pup to try! I can even bring my pup in to get her nails trimmed! The puppies are all so cute! I’ve never seen some of these breeds before. So cool!

The store smells strongly of animal urine. There were many employees just standing around. They could have been cleaning to get rid of the smell. The employees were rude and acted like you were wasting their time. Don't bother with this place.

My first time visiting Petland was wonderful! Super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff! Gigi & Gabby were who helped me and answered all my questions and gave great suggestions! Definitely will be coming back for more of my pet’s needs!

Can someone help me understand there puppy package. My wife went home and added it all up together and came up with $700 in stuff when it’s advertised $3400.. unless the warranty cost more than the actual dog I fully don’t understand. The

Fun place to visit, highly knowledgeable staff and friendly staff. I asked lots of questions and they were so friendly and patient. Was looking at dogs and I must say they were pricey; however there was a good variety to choose from.

If you have a dog this is the place for you. 90% of their stock is for dogs, 7% for small animals and fish and 3% for cats. Store appeared clean, staff was very friendly. Get more cat items and I will have a reason to come back.

I went in last week for the first time to this location. I usually go to Petsmart. The difference is night and day between these 2 place. I will never return to Petland. The smell was atrocious, and she was not friendly.

Dogs sell for $3,900 which is way too much. You can buy a horse or cattle for that much. What's more you can get show dogs for that much, and if you're gonna finance it, for double that you can get winning dogs.

Great place, great people, great dogs. Josie was so knowledgeable about all of the different dogs and focused on finding the right fit for me. No question 5 stars, definitely will be going back!

Friendly staff... BUT six cages had 2-4 pups with feces. One sweet pup had feces in their fur as well. Unacceptable when over 4 workers are present and constantly walking by the cages unaware.

Not a very robust inventory, of anything. Apparently they stick to the high margin items, puppies from puppy mills. Staff was polite though, when they weren't playing on their cell phones.

They sell sick puppies and the vet clinic with the contract knows it and is just as frustrated with them as you will be as a new puppy owner! Two years now and still health issues!!!

Gabby was the BEST. I really wasn't looking to purchase just came in to look. GABBY was so patient and knowledgeable that I felt so excited that I had to purchase this cute cockapoo.

A great place if you are looking to buy a dog but not sure what you want. We found some treats for our dog that she doesn't normally get. She really enjoyed the rolled cod skin.

We love getting to come here and play with the puppies as our parents won't let us have one of our own. The staff is very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about the dogs.

Nice little facility. Had a lot of varieties of puppies. But they are still suffering from the shipping problems. They barely had anything on the shelves due to this.

I get my dogs food here, the clerks are nice and always show my Husky's love when they come in. I have a rear Cooper husky so they are always wanting to see him.

Nice pet store. Had puppies in the window. Had the leashes I needed. Clean, and the employees acted like they knew what they were doing.

Love the experience.. and you get your own little play area with the doggies. But they are VERY expensive. That is my only complaint.
