I’m not certain what the city leaders of Portland, Oregon are trying to represent. It may be they are making a feeble attempt to display their softer side by accommodating the homeless. In fact, in my opinion, they are exploiting the homeless. By allowing tents, blue tarp shelters and makeshift housing and the garbage that goes along with it to be strewn along the freeways and streets in downtown Portland is sad and repulsive. Maybe the local government is hoping the down-on-their-luck souls will wander into the streets and extinguished by passing vehicles. I’m no politician but unless they’re just looking for registered voters without a formal address, there is no reason to allow this mess to happen if the city really cares for these people and wants to attract tourists. We were there for a soccer tournament and stayed in the beautiful towns of Beaverton and Hillsboro just west of Portland. I would avoid Portland at all costs.
The people there are rude, boring, and when I went my only interaction was with white men. I would've loved to see more women and ANY POC working there. They will not hold things for you (things that are sharp, etc. that you can't take near the white man behind the plexiglass) if you are homeless/carless, you have to dispose of them or leave them outside and hope it doesn't fall into violent hands. I didn't feel comfortable a moment I was there, but they don't care anyway.
Our Team of Portland Housing Advocates hanging out in front of Portland City Hall prior to our meeting with newly elected City Commissioner - Jo Ann Hardesty and her amazing staff. We are blessed to have a highly skilled and superbly dedicated team contributing to the well-being of all Portland residents. 2019 is the year of the Blue Wave 2.0 and we are all going to see that our City and our country is headed toward a brighter future.
Portland City Hall was a very welcoming place with warm and friendly help. But with all the lunatics now in Portland it is frightening to even wait at the bus stop near it. The incredible Portland of just a few years ago is lost to all these horrible people who have come there purely for hateful reasons taking the spirit, joy and warmth of what once a fantastic city to live in.
During business hours, doors locked, security had to let me in, then call up to the mayor's office to make sure I was "ok". I took the elevator up, and the mayor's office security wanted to make sure I was still the same guy that the downstairs security had let in the building.
Local government doesn't advocate for working, tax paying citizens. They are just as easily bought and sold as stocks in a portfolio. They support a high cost of living with high tax rates yet don't provide market service for local infrastructure among countless other things.
Why is the Mayor & City Council unavailable for citizen conversation; email, text, phone or in person? You all are doing a less than stellar job and being paid. Downtown is dead, ChinaTown is a cesspool. Perhaps the city should have people over the age of 12 to govern?
⁴th Ave doors/entrAnce had another apocalyptic art upgrade, wordy, then some more a few days later. ²nd floor bay/chambers' window glass still surprisingly in need of replacement.
The downfall of Portland is because of the ignorant and disconnected bozos in here. The city is a dumpster fire. It was a really nice place just a few years ago.
The building is beautiful! The potholes around the city are annoying and sometimes dangerous. Infrastructure is as detailed as my review is going to get.
Portland's government is not doing enough to implement ethical and sustainable solutions to homelessness and more problems confronting Portland.
Lady laying dead in pioneer square. Blood running down the block. 911 Never answered. Called me back 23 mins later . Insane
Portland Women's March 2020 was off the hook. Music, speakers, dancers, kids, a llama and more. Totally peaceful.
Only reviewing the architecture out front of the building! Very cool geometric columns and a liberty bell.
The Portland City Hall was built in 1895 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
I moved here with a business and now this city is a toilet. What a disaster of leadership.
This beautiful building is located near many public buildings and also a public office.
Ted wheeler towed my RV last week after I left it on the sidewalk for an year >:(((((
Portland is in a competition with SF and Seattle to see who hits rock bottom first.
