To find that your Bank is profiting from Climate Change by loaning huge amounts of money to fossil fuel companies I find very distressing. In one of his talks on CBC’s Ideas Program, 2021, Mark Carney remarked, “Ask not what your country is doing for the Climate; but what your company can do for the Climate”. The fossil fuel Industry knows full well that the continued burning of their product will catastrophically effect the Earth. Do you really want your company to be seen as complicit in promoting such an outcome? Money does matter. Can you show that it matters for yours and my children and grandchildren by offering loans to the providers of renewable energy rather than those that are contributing to their extinction? I’m not alone in making such a request.
To start with, RBC is not my primary bank. I do have a credit product with them (LOC) and a basic savings account. My primary bank is another one. Today I went (third time in past 3 years I have tried to get an answer that I had hoped would be different. I asked if I could set up the LOC as a payee on my main bank. Teller was not sure. She checks with Manager. He tells her “no” we cannot. I ask why. My wife has a LOC with one bank but banks at another one. The bank with the LOC set up a way for her to make payments from he main bank. I explain that to the Teller and ask why they can’t do the same thing (essentially set up a “dummy” visa number for the LOC. she does not know and that is where it was left. Less than helpful.
It has been one thing after another with RBC.. their automated person on the phone doesn’t understand the word ‘yes’. I tried to open an account in a branch, and they took me to a room to have a virtual session and then the phone and computer didn’t work. Later, I opened the account online and I was told I needed to bring in 1 piece of ID to open an account and then I actually needed 2 when I got there. I managed to ‘finalize’ opening a new account with them in person after jumping through so many hoops, only to have my paycheque bounce because it hadn’t actually be finalized even though I went in and they told me it was. 2 stars instead of 1 because they were really nice.
usually good and friendly employees. busy between 11-1pm daily so i go before or after. today i had a rude woman sitting on the far right call me over, did not greet me or say hi. why should a client say hi first? just stared at her computer the enetire time. anyways, tells me my other bank charged me a huge fee so i ended up going back to them and yelling at them like an idiot just for them to tell me that im the one who tranfered more than i had, they didnt charge any fee. what they said was clear on the statement they gave me. so dumb. if you cant read a statement properly dont make assumptions and waste my time loser.
this bank is absolutely criminal , they are actually stealing money from people through NSF scam with computers. Me and my landlords told them to stop taking automatic payments out but they continued to take the money without giving it back. NO JOKE. This bank is a criminal enterprise. Since I've been with RBC they have stolen a lot of money from me. I suffer from serious health issues and have very little money and they still gouge,gouge , gouge. I have proof. Do not use this bank. Close your accounts and run.
I lost my debit card, requested a new one the same day in this branch. Still haven't received it after 8 days. Tried calling RBC, was asked million questions, and after this was told they are not able to identify me, even though I just wanted to ask where is my replacement card and when will I receive it, so I can have an access to My money. Agent acted like an arrogant jerk with god complex. Absolutely the worst.
Im not even want to give one star, i have to leave RBC right away and switch to different bank after the experience over here. Hold my check for 4 days without even asking my permission. I have bills to pay and its past due because of that girl, and sicks mom with broken leg in hospital to taking care off and I can't use any of my money from my check. I have to pull out loan to pay for my stuff.
This bank is an absolute joke. I tried to have interest waived off an asset that a customer of mine was trying to purchase. I was speaking Ashish Parekh. He calls himself an equipment finance specialist. He refused to confidently say he had interest in the asset. He then proceeded to give me the silent treatment and not speak to me. Disappointing because I thought RBC puts their customers first.
Very bad customer service and unorganized. If you are coming as an international student do not make RBC as your bank. Being an international student in a new country, have have lot to deal with and RBC rather than making it easy for you keep on giving you appointments over appointments. Even you come with GIC still you might have to wait a lot for your own money
Due to working well, I like 21 King Street West RBC branch because it has a good Banking Advisor. He has a lot of experience especially Creating different Banking Accounts and RESP Program. Went on a whim expecting the service to be terrible because of the reviews - I met Chitrali who was so knowledgeable and helpful and really made a positive difference to my financial situation and life - I came out on a high. Such a shame she's leaving the branch to do her master's this month. So 5 stars from me.
Having a telephone appointment with a confirmation and then by the actual phone appointment, they wont call you or even get back to you. I hope they will make a feedback with all their phone appointment services to make improvements. What a joke! Very poor customer service.
RBC is one of the best banks ever. Customer Service is amazing, I opened an account at this location and I was treated as equal as someone with a million dollars. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and if your thinking of going to a bank, RBC is the way to go!

I didn’t want to be weird and record the people behind me but there are exactly 20 people in line right now including myself and 1 or 2 reps working as tellers at any given moment. I’m not lying check the security cameras, this location is a joke!
The most pathetic banking experience you could find. From 30+ minute line waits to representatives doing the bare minimum to help people. It's just a bunch of people trying to do nothing while socializing to clear a pay check.
The employers are unfocused because they put themselves under pressure in the rush hours, long line of clients but there is only three worker . Unbelievable , it's convenient brunch they should be the best but unfortunately.
While rbc usually offers a great experience elsewhere, avoid this branch at all costs. Exceptionally bad experience - long lines + unprofessional staff, inappropriately paternalistic and have no respect for client's time.
RBC THE WORST BANK EVER,I have a business account and my partner left the company and after 3 months they said that his name is still in the account even though we removed his name in the bank and signed the papers.
This branch is wonderful, especially Ryan. He is very professional and helpful. He explained everything in details for me and made the process as easy as possible. Also the security guard is so kind and wonderful
Busy front desk employee doesn't have time for you.Waiting time is too long. You had a appointment and it was the time but nobody helped you since most time there's nobody at the front desk.
Went on a Tuesday after the child tax checks were issued. Had to wait in line for about 20 mins before being served. Seemed like there wasn't enough staff on hand to serve that many people
