i used to go to Retro Fitness when i lived in NJ, and i moved to the Bronx, i started going to this retro, first impression several customer complaining about the treadmill machine and others machine, so i checked and i count 14 treadmill machine broken i spoke to the customer services people at the front desk and the answer was oh you need to unplugged and plug it again in my mind i said seriously you telling me that, i came back next day to talk to the owner i could not see him, the same problem with treadmill i did what the customer services guy told me and nothing happen and by the way that morning were 2 customer cancelling the membership for the same reason of bad customer services and machine broken, this gym is a shame for what retro fitness represent, and another thing i notice when you go in early in the morning nobody is in the front desk, i had to ask the trainers they were very profesional and help me out, the gym is a good location but if the owner does not solve the issue with the machine, it will lose more customer.

If I can give less than one star I will. First time taking a time to write a review ever but this gym deserves it. When I signed up for this gym I specific ask if I can cancel anytime, they said yes. I went to cancel last week and I was told I have an agreement and needed to wait a year to cancel which is the first thing I asked when I enrolled. Anyways two front lady took care of me which had no clue to look into people account and explain to their customer payment agreement etc. I just left and decided to look online into my own account which it was more helpful to me. You can not cancel your account online or over the phone you have to go in person, but when you do they don't want to close your account because you have an agreement. I was looking at my agreement and I don't see where it says I need to be a member for a year to cancel. Its like they just want to take people money. I will never use a retro fitness ever in my life I have years using other gym and had cancel with no problem but this one its a joke.

Tolerable gym, but definitely one of the worst in the area. I thought this would be an upgrade from Blink but it's a huge downgrade, I'd go back to Blink ASAP if it wasn't so far from me. 1.) Layout is a mess (not sure if all Retro Fitness gyms are like this). Barely anyone puts back their weights despite the various signs and considering the gym is two floors you have weights all over the place, literally have to go on a manhunt to find them sometimes. 2.) Half of the treadmills don't work or malfunction mid-workout. 3.) Some of the benches and other machines are torn up, you can tell they haven't been replaced in years. 4.) The stretching/ab area is trash. There's this very small piece in the back of the gym full of weird ab machines no one uses and barely any space to workout between the machines to do your own ab workouts on the floor. TLDR: Go elsewhere if you can. If you have to go here, go during non-peak hours or else you're gonna have a bad time.

I've been going to this gym for about 5 months now, I must say though it has its advantages and disadvantages. When I first started I was impressed by the different variety of machines this gym had to offer. However, since the past few weeks a few of the machines has broke down and yet no solution was made. I came from many gyms before this one such as Planet Fitness & Blink. I must stress though that things such as this would occur in the gym because every machine is used to a certain extent, but this gym has shown no effort to fixing these problems. In those past gyms I came from they would have the same issue but have it resolved within the next week. I really do like this gym and the atmosphere but something must be done about these broken machines. Why am I paying each month to go to this gym to workout if I can't do the workouts I would like to do. I'm slowly becoming a displeased customer.

This gym has many machines that have been out of service for a very long time. Believe it or not more than a month. I have asked management when they will be repaired and was told soon since the parts arrived. Machines have not been repaired. I have included pictures for your reference. These pictures are from a few weeks ago. today they are still not repaired and there are additional machines broken. Rules are not enforced either. It would be great if management repaired the machines since members ae paying their dues. I'm sure any member that does not pay their dues would not be allowed to utilize the facilities. I hope management fixes these and all other machines.

I tried to cancel my membership & I was told to scan my card which I did & told I have to pay even if I don’t come & my payment is due in 2 weeks! I didn’t even go to gym for 2 months and I didn’t mind to be charged as I never canceled! A worker told me I will come again to resolve the issue after paying or choose to have a bad credit record! I don’t have time for the gym & I moved from the area which makes me be charged for not using their services! Join at your own risk ! Now I have to make my bank stop payment which could have been resolved professionally! How about the consumer protection?

I love this gym I feel a lil more comfortable Better workers better staff !! Very clean I fund some one tablet It happened two be a worker I saw him looking A round ..2 he came two the spot I fund it .. I gave it back fast Even though I lost two phone and gold chain .. never got it back ..I’m happy he got it back .. Wife signed up for membership . Was told she would get keycard on first day . On her first day she wasn't given a keycard or even taken on a tour of establishment. Going to the gym can be overwhelming for some and just being reassuring towards a first timer as a staff member can go a long way . Wife was checked in and that was the end of the interaction . There are NO sanitizing wipes ,which is ALARMING especially with how easy things are spreading nowadays . MOST equipment is BROKEN . ended up cancelling after ONE day . Better off working out at home or in a park .

I was looking for another gym I saw Retro & I said hmm let's try this. But then when I saw all machines being Out of order I said to myself. Why would I want to do that to myself? What is the purpose of going to the gym if I can't have a complete workout. You guys need to do better especially when people are paying their dues. And this is nothing new because last year. I saw the same thing & I still see the same problems but I see the same problems with different people posting. You need to do better if you want me to be a member of your gym.

When you lose your debit card, things goes side ways with customer service. Retro Fitness is partners with ABC Financial which isn't specify to the customers, so When theirs a problem with the Service Fee you have to Contact ABC Financial and NOT Retro Fitness which is absolutely insulting to the customers for not knowing this. Furthermore, when you call the ABC Financial number they don't have a way to speak to a representative, which is insane 1 star for this, will be leaving the gym just because of this. Deserve Zero Stars.

I've been going to this retro location for a couple years now. Staff are for the most part very friendly and helpful with information u need or any problems you might have with any equipment during your workouts. Fortunately they have a lot more too offer than PF and Blink combined so it gets my stamp of approval, Just be aware there are many different Retros all around and each offer something different from the other so decide wisely where u would like to go and take it from there.

It's been 3 weeks since they opened post Covid 19 and I'm happy to see that 95% of gym goers there have their masks on. They do the occasional pull down below the nose but above the mouth from sets to sets for oxygen and to recup faster which is understandable. The other 5% occasionally take off their masks and that's my only complain. They are being careful but I wish they had alcohol wipes on the gym floor to clean up equipment after each machine uses. Still a good motivated gym.

Don’t come to this gym if you think the staff will help. There is constant turnover, on weekends they have one person who is here and just disappears from the front desk. Someone could literally lean over and see customer’s information while they are away from the desk. If you want to make sure people don’t steal your identity, don’t come here. Also you have non staff that just walks by the desk all the time. It has to be the worst run Retro Fitness there is

Doy 3 estrellas porque hay máquinas fuera del servicio todo el tiempo, y las máquinas de cardio igual, desde que me inscribí y al haber mucha gente a veces no abastecen ni el 50% de la demanda ante la escasez de máquinas. Y las condiciones del techo cada vez que llueve, el segundo piso siempre hay goteras. Espero que la administración considere las quejas ya que desde el primer mes cobran por el mantenimiento y reparación en el lugar. Gracias

Booked a class through another fitness app—after waiting 20 mins, instructor never showed. Front desk was very apologetic and accommodating, said daily pass comes with booking. But so many machines are not functioning, and you wouldn’t know until you try to use them. No spray at cleaning stations (maybe someone took with them out on the floor). Locker room very clean and bright, but overall not the best gym experience.

I thought it was a quality gym and more than anything with a service to match. An employee every time I go is very rude to me, prepares me the wrong smoothie and even when I talked to him about it, he told me to leave the gym and a place with employees like that is not pleasant to visit, therefore I want to cancel my membership,the other employees give good service, except that guy .

Everything is fuqin broke in this gym for months the owner and manager won’t fix any of the equipment 50% of the equipment is in no Usable condition, in fact the only great thing about this gym is the locker room is clean. They keep changing the hours of the gym. Fuq it just close the gym cause if I’m paying 30 bucks a month and can’t get a halfway decent workout

Employees will use your customer information to fraudulently charge you in order to buy themselves food and drinks. Recently finding out this has happened DOZENS of times to me. (I have proof, if the manager would like to message me) No one ever re-racks their weights. Equipment is constantly broken and out of order for months.

I’m in love with this establishment! I would say the best gym In my area .There are a verity of machines which is much appreciated . The set up is my favorite, very aesthetic looking . The staff are very friendly and there to help when needed . Plenty of people go there but even at peak hours you can still get a workout in

A basic gym. Good for locals not worth traveling to. They take too long to fix broken machines. The other day the men's room had one broken toilet and the other toilet door lock was broken and had no tissue. Once I arrived early and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned at all. The staff isn't welcoming.

Gym is suck customer service is horrible they need to change all the staff . Men bathroom always is dirty . The bice machine has been broken for more than 3 months and they don't even care . I'm going to cancel my membership soon. Please don't come to this gym . There is a lot option out there.

Great gym with lots of free barbells and dumbells. Plenty of space to work out and the people that come here are wonderful as well. Gymgoers (not a word I know) are very helpful and encouraging. Good atmosphere to push yourself to a great workout. Staff is very friendly and helpful as well

I had cancelled last month in person to find out from their bill collector that im still active and they still charging me , how is it possible when i had the manager told me i was good after i paid off what he told me i owed but still be active this whole cancellation process is a joke

Amazing staff. Very helpful and professional. I love the machines. They attack parts of the muscles I've never felt before. Very convenient location, parking nearby. I go there a few times a week. It's the first time I truly enjoy going to a gym!

gym is always very clean and the staff does a great job of cleaning the bathroom and locker room areas. its packed in the evenings but lets be honest, its a great gym a great price so obviously they have a lot of members. no complaints here.

There are no gyms in this neighborhood so i was happy to see one open up considering how much fast food restaurants are around. Inside is spacious and clean. What sold me on getting a membership was the movie theater inside. Its so dope!

Wish this gym had matching kettlebells instead of one of each and a trap bar but it's ok for what it has. Still haven't seen enough cleaning equipment to wipe down benchs but overall for the price and location it's okk.

They take to much time to fixing the machines, they have machine that doesn’t work since a month ago. The air conditioner is always out of order and the smell is irresistible when it doesn’t work.

This is a great gym. You go here for a hardcore workout. Plenty of weights, and treadmills. The staff is okay. Reasonably priced and an excellent investment if you are nearby.

Possibly the worst gym I’ve ever been too, every week theirs a new piece of equipment out of service. Legit maybe about 4 treadmills are working in this already very busy gym

Almosy every machine is broken. The ones that do work are in terrible condition. I injured myself getting off one of the machine. This is a law suit waiting to happen.

Great equipment and great layout. The staff is awesome answering any questions and assist you with the machines. Plus it’s always clean especially the bathrooms

I like it there, this gym is for everyone, calaesthetics, bodybuilding, cardio and Zumba but on certain days it would be overpopulated with bench heads...

Its a gym...i like that they have hours where there are minimal attendants and that their plans are flexible.
