Check-in and service was ok, the rooms were also ok, however during our email communications when making the bookings, the manager had advised that since we booked 3 rooms , they would all be in the same floor and to our surprise two rooms were on the same floor and the other room was on the last floor. We had to request the room to be changed and after some much deliberations they finally moved the room two floors down but we were still not on the same floor. When breakfast came we headed down to the restaurant and to our shock we were told that our package was not breakfast inclusive. The manager refused to give us breakfast and was adamant that he advised on email that breakfast was not included, we however provided with all the email communication and there was no mention by the manager that our package excluded breakfast. We had to pay for breakfast the whole stay. The manager is not professional and he is very rude, does not have any customer service and he needs to be taken for professional service training. I would not recommend anyone staying at the hotel. We have been regular visitors at this hotel and I can assure you that this was our last visit.

The standards of the hotel have definitely dropped immensely!! from the email conversations not being answered had to always call and verify if all is in order. I requested to be moved to harbour facing I'll pay the additional amount upon arrival that was not done. The staff members should have a proper handover book, they didn't know what I was talking about upon arrival... The room I slept in smelt like urine! The lifts don't work, had to carry all my luggage by myself no assistance was provided!! The room was infested with cockroaches. Housekeeping didn't even bother to pick up the dead ones. No clear instructions were provided about parking had to go back request for an invoice to prove I slept over at the hotel.. Everything was honestly a hot mess... SADLY I AM NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN The only thing that was great was seeing the golden oldies staff members still have that bubbly personality Wi-Fi connection was good aswell

It was the most horrific experience. It's great they offer affordable rates but at least keep the place clean. It was coakroach infested. Balcony doors didn't close or have locks that worked. Only two bath towels even though it accomadates four people. Parking facility offered but the staff failed to communicate special rates for hotel guests, paid a fortune due to day and night rates. Staff refused to heat up cold food I'm sure they are well aware of the infestation how will anyone enjoy meals from their kitchen. I booked 4 nights but left on day 3. First hotel that does not refund cancelation. Terrible experience will never recommend.

Positives: 1) Staff is very friendly; 2) The view is great (if you're on the 5th floor). 3) The breakfast was great. 4) Good proximity to Durban attractions Negatives: 1) The elevator does not work and we had to walk up & down the 5th floor with my mom who has a bad knee! 2) The smell of wet carpets is awful 3) Old-school TV which is blurry 4) Wifi does not reach certain rooms 5) No fridge or microwave for a 'self-catering' establishment 6) No discounted parking-rates for hotel guests Very disappointed experience. This place got stuck in the 80. The rooms are very outdated, no Aircon in the room no fridge. Fan not working. Just the whole experience was bad. There is a old lady working there that is very rude. One guy in the office thinks he is to good to help customers. He looks at you and let you stand at the front desk for 15min he won't get up to help.

The rooms are very outdated smells like mould, there is no Aircon in the room, the fan not working. After load shedding one breaker in the DB trips leaving all the plugs without power.

Nice hotel, had no problems with check-in. Staffs are professional and friendly. Breakfast is good, being a budget-hotel. Only had problems with the DSTV channel, had 8 channels and only 2 were working which were ordinary channels. I guess the management takes note of reviews and will act on it (based on previously read reviews). Overall, I will recommend. Give it an 8/10. Thank you

The rooms are nice and clean .but there is no wifi,the TV is only one channel.Riviera can you please fumigate your rooms there is bedbugs they bites us for 3 days .we even found 2 of them with full of blood.The food at the kitchen was not good at all the lettuce was rotten l was hungry but l couldn't eat

We were booked in Room 403 from 3 to 5 Nov 2023, with a beautiful sea view, a very neat and clean place with friendliest staff. Very patient and helpful Mr Hussein from the day we booked in till check out. Will definitely go back. I loved that place.

It looks like my grandmother's room. My chair was duck taped and the toilet was leaking. The blanket they provided was dirty and smelt bad. TV is a box TV not a flat screen and it was fussy I couldn't watch TV. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Nice hotel, nicely painted, but the whole Dec 2023, lift were not working, concroaches in the rooms (I booked several rooms) both my clients complained of using stairs from ground floor with big lagadges to 4th and fifth floor. Noice from the second floor of church goers. More

The service was ok. The one room that we booked had cockroaches and the other room had bedbugs . The carpets are very filthy, wouldn’t recommend this place

Well before it was amazing now things are not good. Please fix the place, the room 210 the light needs fixing. The other time we booked in a different room the carpet needs a deep cleaning the tv needs dstv or ovhd atleast update your tv's

Not even one star , they are crooks out to take people's hard earned money. I don't know where they take pictures from that they use to lure people to their hotel . It is filthy , and no parking, not self catering , my worst nightmare . I

I just used the parking garage adjacent to the Rivera, which is my best when I have meetings etc at Masonic Grove Government Offices. Friendly staff, good lifts and very reasonably priced!! I sampled their carwash facility and ... tops!!

The place is really embarrassing I couldn't stay 12 hours in that place. Bedding not fresh ,no fridge the list is long

Great staff. The setting and view of the harbor was lovely. I wish there could've been a bin in the room and the side lamps didn't work. Overall though, it's alright. I loved the old school lift

No tea/coffee, no alternative for during loadshedding, messy bathroom. No TV remote, we were asked to pay R100 for it, no channels either.

Nothing really I can applaud except clean sheets and hot shower. No aircon, Wi-fi, TV channels sucks. It had been just to sleep over, I wouldn't take the 2nd night.
