Spar is a new entry to the Supermarket competition in Sri Lanka . This is their first Outlet in Colombo. As usual with the other supermarkets you get all the items available but the twist comes with the Bakery and Restaurant section. They've got loads buns , varieties of Donuts , varieties of cup cakes , cakes , eclairs , cookies etc... Moving on the restaurant section I went during the lunch time , they had Pasta , Lasagna , Noodles , Fried Chicken etc... Next comes the fresh juice section with a varieties of Juice and Beverages. They've got loads of Desserts , like you name anything they had it . I just lost myself choosing a dessert to pick because too many options . And finally this is the only supermarket in the country which offers free WiFi in the dining area and also there are power sockets to plug the laptops as well .

One of the worst places you can buy food around Union Place. Unworthy for the price, unreasonable prices and less hygiene. They carry their cooked food from their kitchen to the store without covering it which showcases their food handling skills pretty well. Try Union Place Spar. You can indulge yourself in a paper thin Halapa at 99/=, spoiled Chinese rolls, rock-hard old pieces of cake and bakery items and re-heated rotten chicken curry. Shame on you Spar - Union Place!!!!!

We are regular customers of spar but the staff is very unhelpful. There’s a too many staff members but all they do is group up and talk to each other. We have to go to them and ask for help. I was at the spar bakery station and the girls there were just staring and they don’t even hear what i was saying because they do not pay attention to customers and it’s the same with the cashiers. They just stand there. Other than that the place and goods are fine.

Went there today (21/05/2021) at 7.35 am as their FB page & google maps indicated 7.00 am as the opening time. But apparently it's 8.00 am & their IT section had not taken trouble to change it (very difficult task for them I guess). The manager & his team were nice enough to open the outlet at their earliest (7.50 am) when the mistake was pointed out. I wanted to give 4 stars to them & 1 star to their IT section, so giving a 2 star rating in general.

I bought 07 veg rolls from the bakery few days back but they have actually put 06 rolls. But charged me for 07. I realized that only when I was distributing it among my friends & really got disappointed. Very bad experience & this has happened to another friend of mine from the same bakery in Union Place store when buying Muffins. So please be careful when you buy couple of bakery items and re-check whether the correct quantity is available.

Every time we visit there we dont get good experience. They do have more than 15 staff but non of them don't do their job properly. Visited couple of times, every time we visit there non of staff at Vegetable & Fruit weigh area. Sometimes there is nobody at the cashier point too.. Always I have to wait security guy tell to the cashier guy come to the cashier and do the bill. Other than that grocery collection is good. Reasonable price.

It's a nice little addition to a largely a buisness district in Colombo. A fairly stocked supermarket in a very small foot print. But that doesn't means they have cut down on the provisions. At the time of visit they had a good collection of frozen meet and other provisions. Also they do have a large dining area which makes sense when the outlet is surrounded by offices. How ever they don't have a pharmacy and a butcher.

They are very concerned of cleanliness according to what could be seen. Food tastes good also. There's ample parking and service is commendable. Overall this place could be highly recommend for a quick or complete shopping experience.

An extremely high waiting time for every single product. Be it the food, snack or purchase. Slow demotivated staff that fails to smile at customers and behaves as thou they have not been paid for months. Product selection is good and a good place to shop if you have plenty of time. Nice place to park you car and walk of the front door to do your work and comeback, especially since that area does not have parking.

Today I went to SPAR in Union place It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had.Their customers service was zero.why do you treat your customers like this? When I went to the cashier there was nobody. It took 10 to 15 minutes to get done my payments. What kind of a service is this??? And special thing is I only bought one item. SPAR this is for attention.Please take this under your consideration .

Worst customer service ever experienced in Union Place Spar super market. I have visited thalawathugoda Spar supermarket many times, never seen this kind of attitude level of them. lady store assistants are very careless personals and impatient towards customers. They doing their own work and not supportive though we asked any support from them. Very disappointed of their attitude inside the premises.

Great place to shop, dine & enjoy. Experienced a totally different shopping experience here. If you wish to have something beyond the general supermarket system, just have a visit to one of the Spar supermarkets. Abundant parking space available behind the supermarket. Sweets, juices, meals and many other light eats available at the restaurant. Dine in area is nicely done, inside and outside both.

Full of goods related to supermarket show room. Special discounts offered. But special new year promotions going on and pennants were displayed to educate customers to buy certain products only at paying counter we were notified that special price products are not included to the awurudu promotion. What a disappointment At paying counter only we saw the conditions. Nice trick

Staff was helpful . Thats it. Nowhere to keep your bags , baking section cashier machine was out of order , so had to walk the all way around to pay , muffins were ok , ice coffee gave me diarrhea + cups were not closed properly ; so it made a mess. + those cups are very likely to make a mess. Very far from the kelaniya outlet experience , which was grate .

They do display card offers at the entrance. Isles are well organized. I found pomegranate sauce here, which I haven't seen anywhere else. They also serve good food here, short eats are also tasty and always well-cooked. Staff keep doing their job, shelving, etc. They will immediately assist you if you can't find something.

In opening days day made fresh foods and had a good breakfast choice to enjoy.. right now they have made it bigger. Also have meals for lunch and dinner.. Too expensive food and small portion. They do not have food warmer.. most meals are cold.. sometimes there is no thick gravy.. Pastries are not worth for the money..

Good Supermarket with a cafe. Not too big but has a good range of products. Café is with a seating capacity for about 10 to 15 people. The crowd seems to be mainly from the neighboring offices. Parking is limited. Probably 10 cars can be accommodated at a given time. Wheel-chair friendly parking and entrance.

Superb place... variety of goods available is highly satisfactory (cheese, leaves ect) in house cafe is an added advantage. Only drawback was the staff... Feel some of them need very close supervision... That's surely Something to improve...!! In general a good place to do some quick trouble free shopping!!!

They only sell string hopper with either dhal or coconut curry with pol sambol. No flexibility to get this with chicken or fish. That has to be bought separately!! No flexibility to mix a put a bit of chicken gravy on top of the string hoppers as well. Something which is obliged at other places.

This is a somewhat smaller and more compact version of their Thalawathugoda main branch. However it does have all major items you'd expect to be in a supermarket. Service is friendly and efficient. Car park is at the back of the store and has space for about 20 vehicles from what I saw.

Nice place that is conveniently located in the centre. Go there to pick up essential stuff for snacks and household goods. They also have all the essentials like bread, milk, eggs, and snacks. Plus, if you need something for your home or personal care, they've got that too.

Visited here for breakfast. more categories available to select as our choice. Prices are displayed Service level satisfied, Better if they arrange proper queue at the ordering point to avoide unnecessary delays to the customers. Meals are good and can be recommended

Newly oened today, September 26th, 2019, but not chemically smelly at all already. Things are nicely displayed. Some goods are shown with wrong tags already as other Sri Lankan supermarkets, but seems much better. Not very big, but also has a eating area.

Really good retail shop which has been set in the heart of Colombo. Although they have done a really nice shop I saw that they are not selling Fish and Meat items as their Thalawthugoda outlet. However, it sells prepackaged meat and fish …

Good place with a good variety of products. Tasty food specially shorteats and cakes. They have a live kitchen to make pol roti and some other snacks. They also have the dining facilities. Easy access and parking facilities available.

The worst place to shop. They charged me more than 5300/- rupees extra. I usually don’t check the bills but i happen to check this one and noticed. They are scammers, pls check all your bills before you leave for the premises

It’s a spacious and well stocked supermarket. Saw a few international brands which are extremely rare and hardly brought down such as the mascarpone cheese. The restaurant/bakery/cafe has some super food too.

Used to visit spar outlet Dalugama. Union place is comparetively below the standed in every aspect. Cleanliness availability of items, presentation, service rendered by sfaff etc. I am highly disappointed.

you can only find nicely packaged products here that you would find in a supermarket in your country. There are no local products here that you can get at the market, so I don't recommend it

Disgusting restaurant area with flies. The cleaning is not done properly. Poorly trained staff that seem to be discriminated and of a particular ethnic group. EXTREMELY dissatisfied.

I had to face an incident where there was no staff to assist me in the scale in fruits area.. the person who is suppose to be in the scale was flirting with a girl in the staff
